First, and last try tonight. Thai sounded great but our usual spot was closed tonight, so decided to give this a shot for takeout. Good ordering experience and what little I saw of the inside looked nice enough. Got home, opened our food & right there on top of my wife's Pad Thai is a rather large, dead fly stuck to a piece of chicken. We never called, because I wasn't going to drive back over there. And frankly, there's not really any coming back from something like this. We split some of the other dishes, after checking closely for more insects, & they weren't very good. Overly greasy, slimy Lo Mein (with pretty much no veggies). Boring, mostly tasteless chicken basil (that was almost entirely veggies). Just kind of blah or meh all around. I'm certainly no Thai expert, but my experience tonight was less Thai/Asian restaurant and more gross mall food-court. There are many much better options. read more

Went here because we tried to go to Los Dos last night. We were immediately concerned when we walked in because the placed was empty and the place next door had an hour and a half wait. The other place on the other side had a long wait as well. My boyfriend and I ordered a sample platter. Everything on it had seemingly been microwaved. The wontons were rubbery. The worse part were the skewers. The chicken was flavorless and rubbery. We were concerned and considered leaving but we had already ordered our appetizers. I ordered the Pad Thai. To say this was the worst Pad Thai I've ever had was an understatement. It almost seemed like they used some canned Pad Thai sauce of some sort. It was way over sauced. I went to go add Sriracha Even that tasted old and off. The shrimp tasted rubbery and old. The chicken in it was old and rubbery. My boyfriend ordered a basil chicken dish. His was ok. That seemed to be at least cooked to order. I ended up eating part of his dish. But the chicken was also rubbery as well. We normally try to give places a 2nd try. Drunken noodles were not good. It was just chicken and noodles with chili sauce. I don't think I have ever been so disappointed. I also ordered the Singapore noodles and Thai basil fried rice. My wife and I ordered (for pickup) a couple apps and entrees and were disappointed for a couple reasons. First, we would rate this food average at best. The Kung Pao delight was decent but the Pinneaple chicken was sub-par. Second, they completely forgot the fried rice with the Kung Pao. *If someone reviews this food decently, you need to understand that person has absolutely no standards and zero concept of what Thai food is supposed to be like.* Truly, shockingly bad. We ordered two Drunken Noodles and one Pad Se Ew. They all three were identical dishes. Zero difference. The crab cheese wontons were barely cooked, doughy and flavorless. All three of us threw our entrees away after a couple bites. If this wasn't delivery I would have sent it all back and refused to pay for it. I still might file a charge back if nothing is done. That's how bad this was, I would rather go through 6 months of arguing with a bank than pay for it. Which brings us to the "egg rolls". I have attached a picture of whatever that was, but it wasn't an egg roll. I mean, just look at these things. I took a bite and spit it into the sink. My wife and her friend were not brave enough to even try them. $70 and not one of us could stomach anything past 2 bites of everything. Our friend said she was going to puke. Absolutely horrendous. I weep for those that think this is what Thai food is supposed to be like. It's like they don't even bother trying. Check out the "egg roll" pics. Yeah, the ends were black on some, that's not just your eyes playing tricks on you. Run away. I can't believe they let food this bad leave the kitchen. Everything a pompous city dweller would suppose about this South-Suburban strip mall Asian restaurant is mostly true: the food is humdrum and inauthentic, the waitresses are super nice, and the parking lot is huge, and yet there is never a close-in spot, thanks to Big Bills amazing popularity. The food, even it it doesn't really excite the palate, does fill you up and actually tastes OK. It seems like the exuberance and exotic ingredients that defines Thai cookery was left back in the home country. What is problematic is that the menu is not solely focused on Thai cuisine. You will find items on the menu that are from Thailand, China, and yes even Italy. There is more than a passing nod to Japan too with an extensive sushi menu and a sushi bar; I thought best not to take partake of those offerings. There are very starchy steamed dumplings available that have a too thick wrapper and are not Thai in any way, yet they do what they are meant to do and fill you up. Additionally, the appetizer menu has all the usual appetizer rolls: Thai, Crispy, and Vietnamese. Again OK but nothing that will make your taste buds soar. The entrees included an overly sweet Pad Thai. There are so many variations on Pad Thai that I never know what I'm going to get, sometimes I love Pad Thai, and other times I'm quite disappointed. The version at Wild Basil is not the worst, but it certainly is not my favorite interpretation either. The sweetness to me is the distraction. Also tried the Sriracha Beef in hopes, not of authenticity (sriracha is as American as apple pie), but rather of some zing and spiciness. Sadly, that is not what is delivered from the kitchen. Instead a mostly bland dish of thinly sliced cheap beef cuts and broccoli is served in a brown sauce lacking the spicy ingredient expected as listed on the menu. The Thai Eggplant is dull even though it too is supposed to be spicy. Large chunks of eggplant are sautéed with a mishmash of other vegetables; the eggplant was mushy yet the other veggies were crisp and perfectly cooked. Another miss. I don't suspect that the Tiramisu listed on the dessert menu is homemade; I passed. What is this doing on the menu anyway at a 'Thai' restaurant? For us city folk, the drive from Denver necessitates the need to use I-25 and C-470 (whoa, two freeways? what's an interchange?) and I'm not sure the food is worth the mileage. But, if you live in the neighborhood, tease your hair, golf, drive a minivan, and have 2.7 children, you will think that the food here is 'so unique', just like your neighbors Chip and Buffy. read more

A solid 5 stars for unbelievable food and outstanding service. I can't recall the last time I had such a great experience at an Asian restaurant! The tequila lime beef is LEGENDARY! I suggest you go in for just this. So much unbelievable flavor from the marinade and how they grill it. You just have to try it to see for yourself, I promise you won't be dissapointed. The Jalapeño combo (sans shrimp due to hubby's allergy) was also tasty. Great cuts of beef and chicken with a combination of 3 sauces (black bean, thai basil, and one more that I am forgetting) served over FRESH steamed veggies. I really appreciate the amount and quality of the veggies as many American prepared Asian dishes are honestly quite unhealthy. We also had sashimi and a philly roll as a starter and it was super fresh and beatifully cut and rolled. Great prices too at $2 per piece! I think they have happy hour for $1 a piece. Service was extra patient, informative, descriptive and helpful as we had a lot of questions and took our sweet time deciding what to order since it was our first time there. The server even went above and beyond at the end of the meal to get us a fresh made avocado Boba tea with a whole avocado. I can't wait to go back, or as a second option order delivery. read more

The staff was WONDERFUL. There was a new waitress ( I can't believe I didn't get her name) but her daughter was there as a shadow. They both chatted with our table and took care of the entire restaurant. Even though they were both very new to the job, they didn't miss a beat. I love family places where people are welcoming and nice. This place has that! The food was good. I got an unfiltered sake that came in a wine glass. I felt weird about it at first but them realized that it made for a very generous serving. Believe me a small was all I needed! Very convenient location, tasty food and a warm welcome! UNBELIEVABLE! is the only way I can start this review. So for the past several years I would order several times a month from Wild Basil, and not $20, $30 dollars but usually $70 to $100 +. I have had a plethora of health issues along with 4 surgeries in the past 2 years and I have not been very mobile because of it. I stay away from restaurants that use Uber Eats, Grub Hub and Door Dash and stay with the ones that have their own delivery. On 8/27/2022 I placed an order with Wild Basil (I apologize for taking so long to post this but again health issues prevailed) and told the gentleman that I have had problems getting my visa receipt and my fish sauce that comes with the Vietnamese egg rolls with my deliveries. I place a pretty substantial order and always ask for a total. He tells me its $75.16 and I say that I'm coming up with $63.85. He then states that there is $4.31 tax and I say well O.K. but that's still not $75.16. He then states there is $1.00 charge for the extra fish sauce and I say that I never ordered "extra" fish sauce but I never get the fish sauce that is suppose to come with it. He then states that their prices have went up recently and I must have an older menu, so we go item by item and the prices all match up. He then says that the remaining $6.00 is the delivery charge. I point out that I'm within their delivery area and do not pay a delivery fee. He asked me to hold on while he checks into it and come back and confirms that I am within their free delivery area then proceeds to tell me that the $6.00 is a surcharge placed on by the manager because (WAIT FOR IT)......I don't tip enough!!!!!!!!! I stood there for a second dumbfounded and asked him if a $5.00 tip to the driver to walk 25 feet to my front door and put the bag down and ring the door bell wasn't a big enough tip and he went ahead and waived it.........when the driver showed up I timed how long it took him to do this.....17 seconds, seconds not minutes!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!!! This is a high school students part time job 15-20 hours or less a week for gas money..... SERIOUSLY!!!! I'm sick in tired of some lazy person trying to make the money that someone working a REAL 40 HOUR A WEEK JOB would make working 2-3 hours 2-3 days a week !!!! Cute restaurant. Mediocre Thai food. A little confused as to whether this is a Thai place or Chinese. I don't think this is a fusion place, but damned if I could figure out if it was supposed to be Thai or Chinese (or Mexican). I got a Hot & Sour soup as a prelude to my Panang Curry (weird). The Curry was mediocre at best, but better than Thai Basil. I would have ordered the Green Curry, but the description had jalapenos in it. WTF? This place is definitely having an identity crisis. There were a lot of dishes that they put fruit in, just to make them different. Our table was about half for and half against the Chicken Coconut soup. The pond with the fish in it is a cute feature, but takes up quite a bit of the small dining room area (plus, the running water made me constantly want to go pee). I don't think I will return to this place, I'll continue to attempt to find a good Thai place in the Denver Metro area. It wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Very disappointed with the food we ordered. The green curry was good but the pad se lew and the Thai spring rolls were truly inedible. I took one bite of the rolls and couldn't eat it, and the peanut sauce was awful. pad se lew had no flavor, I don't even think the noodles were cooked let alone stir fried and there was no sauce on it. It was completely bland, I also couldn't eat more than one bite. Ive had poor Thai food before but rarely inedible food, as this was. If it weren't for the curry I would have had nothing to eat. I really should get my money back for this horrendous meal. I should give 1 star except for the curry. I will never go back here, truly a disappointment. read more

Gave this a try today. The waitstaff were excellent - friendly and helpful to grab things as you needed. Did a wonderful job automatically keeping up on the water refills! We had their Coconut Soup (good), Edamame (excellent), Shrimp/Veggie Tempura (good), General Tso's Chicken (excellent) and Pad Thai (excellent and saucy). I recommend asking for extra dry chili spice if you like spicy. It's all made pretty mild without it. My one criticism would be the sauces left on the table. My husband reached for the Sriracha and it was disgusting at the top where you pour. Not sure how long it's been sitting there, but the sauce drip was black. (Eek!!) We didn't need the soy sauce, but it was basically empty there too. So not sure I'd recommend any sauce that didn't come directly out of the kitchen. Everything else we received was really fresh and tasty. Overall the family voted that we'd like to come back sometime. Thanks for a good meal! read more

I don't write a lot of reviews, but this one is so at odds with other Yelp reviews that I feel I need to write something. I generally find Yelp spot on...if I would rate something between 3 and 4, Yelp often has it at 3.5! The power of crowds i guess! On the plus side, my order was correct and the portions were good, with the exception of the veggie egg rolls. It was to go, fyi. On the other side of the ledger...well it's a long list but i'll add some pics. -sesame chicken - soft, soggy chicken, extremely bland. will throw away what's left. -Pad see ew. Where to begin? The pictures don't show just how bland this was. We thought they left the sauce off (and perhaps they did). Three pieces of broccoli, and just plain noodles. So weird. -egg drop soup - Ok -veggie egg rolls - standard, nothing terrible, nothing great. Likely from same supplier as many other restaurants around town. Of note, $4 for 2 of them was high. Just updating - the quality and service of this restaurant has been amazingly consistent. The food is amazing and the people that work here are fantastic. Our favorites are the sushi, salmon and tuna. Their Drunken Noodle with pork and the combination fried rice are the best that I've had in Denver. I ate part of the rice directly upon bringing it home. Then upon a second helping a white bug about 4mm long came out with the remaining rice at the bottom of the box. He crawled across the plate. I asked for crispy noodles for my soup and he brought us wontons and said his mistake and would bring out the crispy noodles, they never came. Had dinner delivered tonight based on the Yelp reviews. The Vietnamese Chicken and Rice Noodle Bowl was very good, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and very delicious. My husband wasn't impressed with the Sesame Chicken tho, he said the fried breading on the chicken fell apart very quickly (thus the 4 star rating). The Crab Cheese Wontons were very different from what we are used to, they weren't the normal "pinched" wonton and reminded us of a small triangular empanada. One of the best Thai food places ever! The food is very delicious. The quantity is large, I rarely finish it and end up finishing it the next day. I like most of their food but here is what I absolutely love - Panang Curry, Green curry, Pineapple Curry, Edamame (starter). Also if you are a vegetarian, ask tofu for meat substitute. The tofu they use is just very perfect. Finally, they serve half-cut pineapple at the end of the meal which you don't want to miss on, like ever! I love this place. Looking for a snack, so as to not ruin our dinner, we opted for some sashimi/sushi. I had six pieces of sashimi: 2 yellowtail, one eel, one squid, one scallop, one red snapper. Each was nicely sized, very fresh, and delightful in taste. Before my sashimi came out I tried a Vietnamese coffee. Having never tried this coffee preparation, I was looking forward to something new. I was pleased as it was yummy. It tasted almost like it had chocolate. But most amazing was my husband even liked it and he isn't a coffee drinker. We love going here when we crave Asian food and I love their Sesame chicken while my wife always gets a shrimp dish. Food is always well prepared and huge portions so we get to take home a second meal. Staff is always friendly. I ordered off of grub hub, to be honest they are the best Asian delivery around. My ex and I have ordered everything from the sesame chicken (which is very delicious) sushi, and pad Thai. This evening I ordered off of grub hub, their delivery is prompt and food hot. Their egg drop soup is my fav and they are always so sweet to add wontons since we aren't a fan of cheese wontons. Not that theirs aren't good, the ex loved them. Now I order solo and I always get stuff I can have the next day. They forgot an order of mochi and I called back and told them to just credit next time I order. Not even 10 mins later the handsome delivery guy, Gerald (sorry if I'm spelling this wrong) brought it to my door step and I still get a credit for next time. Everytime I have called they are so polite and sweet!! I haven't gone in yet but the fact they are so sweet and professional makes me want to leave the comfort of my couch and tv to see them!! I love that their food isn't greasy! I order pretty healthy stuff. All their sushi has been fresh and I am addicted to their spring rolls and their noodle bowl with shrimp!!! I've always enjoyed the food from Wild Basil, but what inspired me to write a review was their service. My wife has to eat gluten-free. Wild Basil doesn't even bat an eye when you ask for gluten-free options. Gluten-free soy sauce - yep, they've got it. Pineapple chicken - they bread it with corn instead of wheat. Really wanted Thai food today so I looked this place up on Yelp. Looked good and they have the Tom Kha soup I also wanted. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken and shrimp. The chicken and shrimp weren't so bad but the noodle were not the traditional noodles for this dish and it was like eating noodle soup because of all the sauce it was drenched in.
