We stopped in here recently looking for an Asian food restaurant close to home. We started with two kinds of rolls; Vietnamese and Egg Rolls. Both were tasty and our server came over to tell us how best to eat the Vietnamese rolls...using the lettuce as a sort of wrapper and then dipped in the sauce. They were much better that way! It was a kind of busy night and so our request for chopsticks went unnoticed (my husband just got up and got them himself). When my order of shrimp lo mein arrived, it was chicken and the server quickly exchanged it for the correct dish. I am a fan of thinner noodles, but the dish was ok with a larger spaghetti-type noodle. It was a bit pasty, perhaps the kind of pasta used, and could have packed a more powerful spicy punch with more vegetables...a bit of a let down. My husband ordered the beef with vegetable...it was very saucy!! I think if you like sushi this would be a good option, although we did not have it. They are very kind to offer a sliced pineapple dish (complimentary) at the end of the meal which made me remember back to the days when I was young and our local Chinese food restaurant in my home town had little bowls of chunk pineapple 'for dessert'. It was a fond memory. The pineapple sort of settled everything. There was some kind of topping on it...it looked like dried punch mix, that when mixed with the juice of the pineapple turned into a kind of punch. Not sure I'd order that, but it is a kind gesture to provide to guests. We might be back..the server, although obviously very busy, was quite gracious and helpful with explaining everything on the menu. There is something about a server who gets down to eye level when explaining a dish that is very endearing. read more

I've always enjoyed the food from Wild Basil, but what inspired me to write a review was their service. My wife has to eat gluten-free. Wild Basil doesn't even bat an eye when you ask for gluten-free options. Gluten-free soy sauce - yep, they've got it. Pineapple chicken - they bread it with corn instead of wheat. They'll answered detailed questions about allergens, and they take the issue seriously. And did I mention that the food is really good, too? Yep! read more

We've ordered delivery from Wild Basil for years, and love them. Their food is always great, and their delivery is quick. Our place is difficult to find. But Wild Basil never has had a problem getting our order to us on time and warm, We've eaten in a few times also, and liked that experience too. read more

Chicken Pad Thai lunch special for under $8?! Sign me up! I ordered the special for pickup and it was ready within 10 minutes. It came with a spring roll (delicious, you really can't mess up a spring roll) and the pad thai was enough to get me through two meals. As always, it was better left over and I was a happy camper with both of my meals. I will definitely stop here for lunch again when I need some comfort in a bowl on the fly. read more

This place is great. The Chinese food is fast but still high quality. They also do a great job at accommodating a shellfish and nut allergy. No easy feat at a place that has both in a ton of dishes. The hot and sour soup and the chilie lime beef are 2 of my current faves but its hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

I can't say I was wild about Wild Basil. I have a hard time knowing what to rate this place because the servers were friendly and polite, my take out order was ready for pick up really fast, the portions were good sized, but let's talk about the food...yikes. I can't say I've ever had green curry with potatoes and jalapeños before and now I know why. It was a confusing mix of flavors, sweet and spicy, not how I think green curry should taste. The chicken sauté was pretty good. Unfortunate, I wouldn't go back. read more

I wanted this to be a four star (OR five star!) Thai place, but its not. Sandwiched between Big Bill's NY Pizza and Los Dos Patrillos I thought it might be a good place to satisfy my semi-regular Thai food craving. I walked in and found no one front of house. So I plopped down at the bar and read a menu (which I got for myself). A girl finally came out and apologized, explaining that they were swamped with a take-out order. She gave me water while I waited for my to-go order. I selected a spattering of Thai standards. Spring rolls, Pad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice. I wanted the Thai Iced Tea too, but my calorie meter would already be busting at the seams. The spring rolls needed a little more flavor. The peanut dipping sauce was ok, but nothing to write home about (but I wouldn't write to my parents about that because they don't even know what peanut dipping sauce is or should be). The Pad Thai was ok. It needed a little more protein in it. It was also lacking a little flavor and the noodles were really sticking together--that doesn't happen very often with normal Pad Thai--maybe they forgot an ingredient? The Mango Sticky Rice left a lot to be desired. It wasn't sweet like I'm used to. I wanted this place to compete with my favorite Thai place in San Fran, but I'm just not that lucky. read more

We've ordered delivery from here a few times and finally decided to stop in for lunch. The lunch portions were really good, and came with free soup and an egg roll.Both were quite good! Service was great and really attentive. I don't think our waters got more than halfway empty the whole time. I got the drunken noodles. I ordered it spicy but didn't think it had too much heat on it. Altho it did build a little toward the end. Still, it was very yummy! read more

Something happened a few months ago and we waited and tried again. Loved this place for so long but it is no longer safe. Peppered Beef tasted carcinogenic, my words, wife said like fuel. All the other stuff we have loved was off too. Delivered hot and warm like always, but the food is prepared differently now. read more

Looking for something different, we decided to order delivery from Wild Basil. Delivery was quick and prices were on par with Chinese delivery places. We ordered the Sesame Chicken which was delicious and the Pad Thai which was pretty bad. It certainly wasn't Pad Thai in my opinion, not spicy, bland flavor, and just overall disappointing. Their Panang is GREAT! The blend of flavors is just right and that spicy sauce is fantastic. My boys love their sticky rice and enamame! Their Sesame Chicken is also pretty good and my sister-in-law swears by their duck dishes!!! The staff is very friendly and try their hardest to ensure that your dining experience is enjoyable. Just ordered delivery through GrubHub and WOW! It came 30 minutes earlier than expected (and I was starving so I coulda kissed the deliverer I was so happy!!). I had Pad Thai, medium spice, extra veggies. It was sooo good! Perfect spiciness, excellent veggies, and the quality of the chicken and shrimp was very impressive! We also got an order of egg rolls and I wish I'd gotten two orders!! Apparently I was very appetized haha! We used the coupon for free crab cream cheese wontons and they were also just totally delicious. Definitely ordering again... like tomorrow. Haha!! UPDATE: Ordered from these magical humans again and again was absolutely thrilled with the timeliness and tastiness. I want it again right now. And daily. Is there a subscription service available please? This time we went for sesame chicken with fried rice (truly delicious) and egg rolls (ill take 208 more of those please) with our free crab cheese wontons (pretty sure they're sent directly from heaven). If it isn't clear already, I'm pretty in love with the 'ol Basil and will probably have an ode to them on my tombstone. read more

It's consistently Okay. Being from NY I've just about LOST MY MIND here trying to find decent Chinese or Thai or ANYTHING Asian. Having said that, Wild Basil, is fairly good, quite a few of their dishes are tasty, and they're consistent which is very good. They have a good selection of items including Sushi (which my wife likes), as well as Thai and "Traditional" Chinese dishes. My problem is that I've gotten kind of bored of the place, it's the only half way decent Asian delivery near us, and I wish they had more straight forward Chinese dishes. Although Wild Basil lacks authentic asian cuisine, they make up for it with outstanding service. Their sushi is above grocery store quality but below what you can find in the average So Cal joint. Their sping rolls feature way way more noodles than anything else. Their peanut sauce is too thick and lacks depth. Their tempura roll is nice and crunchy but not very flavorfull. Thier tomago and inari are not very fresh and pretty average. All in all, the food is not top notch quality but is pretty much just OK. Their waitstaff is very friendly, tries hard and are on top of everything. read more

Great food, generous portions, friendly wait staff who seems very happy with the owner and always joking with him. Can't recommend this place more. The sushi pricing is the best in this area, and again, generous cuts of fish and other dishes alike. Always happy to see Raymond, Tony, Cailyn, Jordan, and Alex. Try the Singapore noodles. Go for Thai Hot spicy level if you know what you're doing. This place uses real Thai chili. read more

We went here because there was a 2 hour wait at Los Dos. Didn't have the wine I wanted, terrible hot and sour soup (Not hot or sour) and the LONG wait for the food produced a lukewarm mediocre curry. The sushi is awesome, I have ordered delivery in the past and order came accurate and in timely manor, recently went in to eat at around 3 (because most restaurants arent that busy around this time and it's more my style), none the less food came out in timely manor as well and looked very appetizing, turned out to be some of the better thai/Asian fusion food I've tried. Wild Basil has essentially been the go to Asian cuisine delivery place at work. They are very good about working with order requests and fast delivery. Usually about 30mins. The wontons are kind of funny, and the chicken is fried to perfection. Also recommend the fried pork potsticker. read more

I'm a huge fan of this place but I should clarify that we have always ordered for delivery. I have no idea what the service is like at the actual restaurant. Their prices are good and while it may not be the BEST Thai or Chinese food I've ever had, it's definitely way up there for options for delivery. I have about 15 Chinese take out menus at home and every time I try one of those places I'm always dissapointed and with I would have just ordered from Wild Basil. Plus I like the variety. I often order the Pad Thai (i disagree with other reviewers but maybe it's because I don't like things that are overly spicy) and love it. I also LOVE their Chicken Fried Rice (some places just don't do this right) and their Panang Curry. My mom tried their Garlic Chicken and fell in love. We also always get steamed dumplings and the dipping sauce is YUMMY. They always say it will take 30-45 minutes but it seems they always ring our doorbell in less than 30. We live right up the street though. They are always very friendly and have only messed up our order twice in 6 years and approximately 15+ orders a year. All in all, no complaints. Will continue to order from them for good tasting yummy food when I don't feel like cooking. read more

Wild Basil is right down the street from me and offers delivery so initially, convenience was the main reason I decided to order from them. However, their sushi and Chinese food dishes are so excellent, I typically order from them once or twice a month. Sushi is fresh and delicious and the Chinese food is always hot upon delivery and tastes great. Delivery is usually faster than they quote, which I appreciate and the delivery people (I think the owner actually delivers sometimes but I'm not 100% sure) are always friendly and super sweet to my kids as they hide behind my legs when I answer the door. ;-) The only con I can think of to mention is that they don't always remember chopsticks/utensils or condiments like sweet and sour sauce. Not a big deal to me though, I have forks and usually have some extra chopsticks as well. It can be disappointing not to have a sauce that goes with one of your dishes but this is not such a regular occurrence that I feel the need to make a fuss over it. They serve a decent Pad Thai plate, as long as you order it on the spicy side. The rest of the menu is pretty ordinary and about what you would expect for a Thai place. The Thai peanut chicken tasted like your basic stir-fry chicken, but doused with peanut sauce from King Soopers. If it wasn't for the sirracha condiment jar, I probably would've sent it back. As a fun bonus, they have a koi pond right as you walk in. However, the rest of the place is fairly ordinary. This is an acceptable place to eat dinner, call for delivery, or get take-out, but it lacks that extra element that could make it a "special night out". read more

First time at this place for lunch. Customer service was IMPECCABLE. both the front desk and waitress were super friendly and attentive. Some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. Had the wonton soup. It wasn't as hot ( temperature ) as I would've liked, lukewarm even. Flavor was good though. The general tso lunch plate was a big portion, with fried rice and veggie roll. The chicken was really crispy , which tasted great. The veggie rolls and cream cheese wontons are VERY VERY TASTY. the lo mein noodles were a little on the dry side , but overall good flavor I would come here again :) read more

My family & I are new to this part of town. We tried this place on a friend's recommendation. The first time we ordered from there (lunch) it was great! If I was going just on that one experience I would have given a 4-star rating. But, we ordered take out (dinner) last time and the deals were not good at all. The food was good, but they charge you for every little thing--and at lunch it all comes with the meals. Example: lunch is served with fried rice, dinner with plain white rice. You can get fried, but it's an additional charge. Why? I don't get it? A few things were like that. A dinner for 4 was $60. Seems very high to me. We didn't get anything extravagant... The food is good. The lunch option will always be your best bet, though. read more

The past few times I've been here I've tried a variety of their sushi and sashimi rolls which have all been great. Recently I did dinner take out and got the panang curry, pad tai and mixed vegetables. Everything was amazing and the wait wasn't even 10 minutes. It's about $10/person, but that's not bad for the quality and quantity of the food; the service has always been great when I've dined-in. read more

However, within a few minutes of placing the order I received a call, wanting to confirm which location I had wanted to place the order through. I had accidentally chosen the wrong location so they canceled my order and had me place it again online. They called the other individual I was with who also placed an order. This must happen pretty often if they're calling every single person that places an online order and I will say that I did not notice that I picked the wrong location when I placed the order. So I was grateful that they called to confirm. The order was ready when we arrive to the location and everything was accurate. I started with edamame. And I will say it is pretty standard edamame. I also wanted to try a California roll. It was really fresh and I would definitely order one again. My favorite of the appetizers was that Gyoza. Those were so good. I always order them with Ramen in Kansas City but these knocked any of those out of the park. For Ramen, I went with a classic tonkatsu. The menu description said that it came with corn and bok choy, but I was missing both of those items. The Ramen itself was really good. The broth was super rich and they gave you a lot. There were also a lot of Ramen noodles. And I did like the addition of the bamboo shoots. The marinated egg was fantastic. This classic was so tasty. If I lived in the area, I would definitely visit pretty often. There's so many different menu items that looked so good and I'm sure the other Ramen varieties are fantastic as well.

We walked in to the receptionist and there was barely room to stand…read more This is not all the restaurant's fault; it was below 20F and breezy outside, so no one was going to wait out there or in the freezing foyer. Found out later that around 15 of the people were in one group. We were basically ignored by the girl behind the desk for 15 minutes. There was another couple in front of us who had been waiting for 30 minutes. After another 10 minutes they left, leaving us first in line. 20 minutes past our reservation time, we really started to complain to any employee we could find. The receptionist finally tried to tell us something, but her English was so poor we did not understand her. We SAW the manger but couldn't get close enough to talk to her. Once the party of 15 was seated there was some breathing room. Suddenly 3 people got up from the table closest to us and left, one saying to us "Good Luck". I walked over to those chairs and said we would take them. The first party at the table (you know how hibachi is), told us they had been waiting for an hour for something after their soups and salads, and that is why the other group left in a huff. Once we were seated the manager cleaned up the area and got a waitress right away - guess maybe she heard we were ticked off. I was glad we were able to help the other people at the table finally get some attention! I guess they had already ordered long ago, and so the waitress rushed us to order without giving us any time to look at the menu. She also pushed the fried rice pretty heavily; I had to strongly insist I only wanted steamed rice. Found out when the bill came that each fried rice was almost $6, so that explained that. Our soup, salad and sake came out quickly. Not long after the chef came and he was a very pleasant individual. But his "hibachi entertainment skills" were limited and his serving was pretty sloppy. Granted, he was now rushing to accommodate the other poor folks. The food. I ordered the vegetable hibachi, my wife the shrimp, and my grandson the steak and shrimp. They said theirs was very good. First, they gave me a huge helping of fried rice from the common pile. I did taste it, and it was fine. Then, they gave me vegetables from the common pile, the same amount as everyone else who had ordered a protein received. I had to complain to the chef that I should have steamed rice, and he quickly flagged down a waitress and I finally got that. But no more vegetables for me as those around me got their "second course" of protein. I was waiting for the chef to cook me some more veggies when he started cleaning the table! I don't eat that much so I wasn't overly concerned, but when the chef gave me a puzzled look, I said I was supposed to have vegetable hibachi. He asked if I wanted more vegetables. I said sure, and after a while a steaming bowl arrived, apparently cooked at another table. The vegetables were VERY zucchini-heavy, with a little broccoli and a fair amount of mushrooms. It was fine. We were not offered desert, and basically given the bums rush to get out of there. Like I said, not ever issue was the actual fault of the place - the cold caused reception-area problems, and once we sat I noticed that the one party was occupying an entire table, and a different party was occupying TWO entire tables, and they seemed to have come in at almost the same time. There was at most 12 tables in there, because it was poorly laid out. There was a giant television (nice one!) but it had a huge amount of empty, wasted space in front of it. There was a long section of booths by the windows, left over from the room's last incarnation, where I guess people could just order sushi or tempura - but none of them were occupied. If I want sushi I will go to a sushi place. We go to Japanese grills for the grilling! My major complaint is the management/staff response to the issues. The receptionist seemed to just shut down when things became overwhelming, and they should never have reserved three complete tables at the same time. Or, alternatively, should have better managed the reservations for all the parties of 3-5 (us). I really don't know why the families at the table with us had to wait for an hour for a chef to show up, except they were kind and nice. And by that point, we were not. Finally, when my check came back with the charge slip, it also included the charge slip for someone else. Our bill was correct, so I paid and tried to get a waitress/manager's attention to give them the other person's bill, but to no avail. I finally gave up and left it on the table. So, lots of little issues made the whole evening a lot less fun than it should have been. Entire time from butts-in-chair to walking out the door was maybe 40 minutes, to be generous, though wait time was closer to 30.

I will be contacting the restaurant to resolve this, but I strongly advise others to carefully review their receipts and bank statements if they choose to eat here. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place.
