Wild Eggs is the classic Louisville Brunch. It's been around a long time, really before brunch was such a hyped meal. The menu is pretty big and has all the classic items you would expect. For most people, this is exactly what you'd want. For me, I usually want something a little different. I got a healthy(ish) Farmer's market skillet with the basted egg on top of some veggies and potatoes. It tasted exactly how you would expect it to. You cannot beat this place for breakfast! The steak and eggs are my go to, and my wife always gets the Nashville hot chicken and waffles. The espresso is a double by standard, and never lets me down. We've always been served by an excellent staff that is courteous and pleasant. This is also a great place to take your kiddos which is a major plus since we have 3 little ones under 5. Yummy food, great service, my only note would be that since I modified an order to be vegan, (veggie scramble I think) I wish it would've been a slightly larger portion of the other items, but appeared they still used the same amount they normally would for everything and I just a got half as much food as my husband, not a big deal at all but something to consider if you're really hungry. Wild Eggs is my favorite brunch restaurant in Louisville. I don't think brunch can get any better. I've been to three different locations and they're all great. There is almost always a wait but it's worth it. My most recent visit was on a Saturday at 11. They said the wait would be about 30-40 minutes and it was. It's really convenient to be next to all the stores so you can shop while you wait. We had a party of six so I was surprised at how quickly the seated us. Our waitress was very friendly. Some of our orders were complicated but they got them all correct. It took maybe 15 for the food to come out. Everything was hot when we got it. I almost always get the stuffed French toast. I'm not a big fan of French toast but everything they put inside makes it delicious. It's like a cream cheese mixture with strawberries and blueberries in the middle of two pieces of French toast. They put more blueberries and strawberries on top with whipped cream and powdered sugar. It is to die for. It's really good with syrup. I wanted to get a mimosa but it was $8 and the glasses seemed very small. Honestly the plain orange juice is a better deal. You get a lot more for you money and it's so fresh tasting. As a lover of all things brunch, I'm a fan of Wild Eggs. This time was no different. I'm giving 4 stars because I'm sad that the Bennies Gone Wild is no longer on the menu. It takes the price down a little as opposed to ordering a single glass. I ordered the Lox and Bagel Bennie. A delicious take with bagel, salmon, capers, hollandaise, and onions. My side was the skillet potatoes. All very tasty. I think this will be my new go to for a while. When we finished breakfast we wanted dessert so we split the Wild Berry Crepes. I recently had Wild Eggs for the first time in a long time. Like many restaurants, Wild Eggs has moved to online ordering and pickup, which makes it easier than ever to have your favorites without having to wait in the long line. The online ordering process was easy, butb it's good to note that you can't edit your order date/time once you begin adding menu items. Picking up the food was equally as easy. I received a text letting me know about 5 minutes before my order time letting me know my food was ready. Everything was perfect and was still very warm when I arrived home. How do I go to Wild Eggs at least once a month and NOT have a review up? I can't tell you if I've ever had a bad meal here or bad service, there was maybe one time but the manager swooped in and fixed it before I could snap off a snarky tweet. That's QUICK. I fell in love with this place when I was there having breakfast with my friend Erin and a woman was eating the olives out of someone else's Bloody Mary; at another table. I don't know what category of hot mess you have to be to do something like that but I am pretty sure that I keep going back to see if anything else that bizarre happens again. That's up there with the time I saw the Amish in their buggy going through a drive-through. I am a huge fan of their breakfast burrito so I would naturally recommend that to anyone at breakfast but I recently tried their chorizo biscuits and gravy and was absolutely blown away. My dearly departed grandmother would order one pancake when took her out for breakfast and as a tradition, if I'm not pretending to diet, I'll order one pancake. Get the pancake. Get the pancakes. I hear Darth Sidious in my mind, "WIPE THEM OUT, ALL OF THEM," and I obey. If they have a special pancake, try it. You can thank me (or send a mimosa to my table) later. They have daily grits specials but to be clear: I am a transplant and thoroughly a Yankee and a recovering expatriate. I have eaten grits standing on ceremony and out of politeness and good breeding: I do not like them. You cannot doctor an unacceptable texture. If that's your thing though hit it with your best shot, fire away. I also like the potato casserole, their skillet potatoes, and the everything muffin. I've had the steak and eggs as well and it wasn't bad. Their latkes are better than my Bubbe's, which isn't hard to do, but they're as good as the latkes I remember in Germany as a child at Christmas markets. Their latkes, oddly enough, are what Christmas tastes like. If we are there closer to lunch I split my attention between Batman and Rueben (and it's mos def allowed to call itself "Batman") and the Yard Bird. The Yard Bird has raisins in it and holds the honor of being the exception to my rule that raisins are Satan's chocolate chips and the preferred snack of demons. And get the fries, don't be basic, you'll love them and you can share a few with the table if it makes you feel better. I don't know how they've evaded the ordinance to have the Hot Brown on the menu but good for them, I'm over Hot Browns. Message me and we'll go, it'll be awkward, but I feel it is less awkward than eating by oneself. read more

Oh! Wild Eggs where do I start?!? The pros: You seriously can not go wrong! Their menu is amazing and the servers always make amazing recommendations. Their grits of the day are never disappoint. They are always different and I've never had the same ones twice. Their crepes are amazing! Especially the bourbon apple crepes. They are super sweet but not too sweet. The surfer girl is my favorite omelette. The chicken and waffles is a great combination of sweet and savory. Also you can not beat the customer service. Out of the probably 20 times we have been here we only encountered one issue and that was water from AC was dripping and they sent a team of servers over to move our table and grab our drinks so they didn't spill. The cons: Legitimately the only con is you might have to wait for a table...well that and you'll never want to find a new breakfast place. Over all Wild Eggs is definitely one of the best breakfast places that I have ever been to. They are definitely doing something right. Keep it up Wild eggs!! read more

Wild Eggs is dangerously close to home for us, and we end up there for breakfast at least once a month. It gets pretty busy, especially on weekends, but if you're able to get there by 8:45a you can almost always slide in before there's a wait for a table. The staff have been really good overall, with consistently good servers and more variation from the hostesses. The space is bright, light colors and lots of windows, and comfortable seating. Plus, how can you not like breakfast-themed prints on the walls and egg-shaped salt/pepper shakers?! The food at Wild Eggs has been consistently excellent, so much so that we've brought multiple friends/families from out of town here for an early meal. It's very much a Tex-Mex spin on more traditional American breakfast food, which for me translates into much more robust, flavorful dishes. I've tried many things there, but recently have been hooked on the creole omelet. First off, every egg I've ever had here has been cooked perfectly. The omelets are big, fluffy, and super tender. The creole is stuffed with andouille, shrimp, peppers, and cheese, and comes topped by a very tasty creole hollandaise. I continue to be impressed that not only is the egg cooked perfectly, but in this dish the shrimp is as well. They're very tender, not at all chewy, and a great size for the dish. You also get enough shrimp in the omelet that there's some in just about every bite. I also highly recommend the hash brown casserole and the everything muffin. The latter might sound strange, but the sweet/savory combo is sooo good! I know some friends in town who look down their noses at Wild Eggs, and for the life of my I do not get why! The food is great without being pretentious, the service is solid, and it's locally owned. We'll definitely be back again soon! read more

The breakfast burrito was your typical burrito stuffed with cheese, chicken, beans. The taste was above average just like any other breakfast burrito you'll have. The stuffed french toast was pretty good. It was more of a sandwich made of french toasts. There was lots of cream and some mildly fresh strawberries and blueberries. We ordered a pitcher of the grand mimosa you can't have brunch without a mimosa. The grand mimosa was just okay you couldn't really taste the champagne. Even the baby in our group did the happy dance after our latest visit to Wild Eggs. Wild Eggs is almost always packed on a Saturday or Sunday morning, but it is most certainly worth the wait. The free coffee they offer in the reception area helps make the time more bearable, and all memories of waiting for the red buzzer to light up will be forgotten once you are done with your meal. This is one place where I can honestly say I've never had anything bad on the menu. My favorites are the hearty choices under the "Wild Eggs" section of the menu. The combination of piping hot eggs, filling hash browns, and a choice of savory topping (hollandaise sauce, pico de gallo, or my favorite - tobasco!) is indescribeably satisfying. Coffee mugs stay filled and waitstaff are attentive without being over-bearing. My most recent experience was with a large group (10 of us) and a baby. We shared around each others' breakfasts, and every bite was something I wanted to try in the future. I've recently been able to order a la carte both dine in and to-go and the restaurant was able to accommodate my dietary restrictions, which I really appreciate! This approach seems to be cheaper as well, while still being plenty to eat. Wild Eggs is one of my favorite spots in town for breakfast. I took my wife out to Wild Eggs for Mother's Day and it was the perfect start to the day. There are no reservations, so usually it's a good idea to budget some extra wait time. We arrived around 8:15am and waited about 20 minutes. Usually they have coffee available while you wait, but we didn't see it this time around. Either way, we are always happy to wait because the food is worth it! My wife ordered the Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict (our usual) and I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with a side order of Cheddar/Bacon Grits. The gravy is uniquely made with Chorizo and compliments the soft biscuits really well. The Grits were smooth and flavorful too. Everything I've ordered in the past has been really solid as well (omelets, pancakes, etc). The service is always attentive and friendly. The servers have been great with providing helpful recommendations and menu insights. The food also comes out surprisingly quick provided how fresh and creative the different dishes are. I like going to Wild Eggs for breakfast when I'm in town. I went on a Tuesday morning at 11:00. There was no wait. The hostess seated us right away. Our server came to introduce herself and took our drink order. We were hungry so we already knew what we were going to order. In reality the server didn't take long we were just really hungry. I ordered the lox Bennie it was delicious. It had a plain mini bagel a touch of cream cheese, lox, home-made hollandaise sauce, caper, diced tomatoes and onions. I requested my eggs slightly cooked so the yoke can still be just a tad bite runny. On the side it came with a home potatoes everything was so GOOD. My daughter loved her fluffy, light melt in your mouth pancakes. I tasted them as well as they were GREAT! My mom ordered the waffles with the grits of the day which was whole grain. She mentioned that her waffles were cold. I let my server know and she offered to get my mom a fresh order but my mom told her "no" because she ate a little piece of them. Over all she like them. My nephew had the kids order of the biscuit and a piece of bacon. He loved it. He cleaned his plate. My step-dad had the French toast. He was very quit and when I looked at his plate it was clean. This is probably my favorite brunch place in louisville for the last 10 years. They are consistently fantastic and I'm always finding new things to love. They have something for everyone. Whenever I have people visiting from out of town we go here. My current favorite is the chicken and waffles. They also do great pancakes, cinnamon rolls, and omelets (still miss some of the older dishes that have left the menu). My mom always gets a vegetarian Mexican dish Which she. The side meats and potatoes are worth checking out. Overall it's definitely a local place and very family/cosy feel to it. Today I placed my order with two special instructions and neither was honored. What's worse is we were told 10-15 minutes when we ordered so we arrived 12 minutes after calling. When we got there I said to my partner wonder if that to go bag is ours so I called the restaurant to let them know we had arrived. 10 minutes later that same bag was brought to us.
