Christine the manager is always there with a smile while her husband is behind the sushi bar creating delicious one of kind sushi rolls, I recommend the " Godzilla and the Westchester roll " both are adventures of taste. Mike the extremely gifted bartender on the weekend will make your spirit smile with the first sip of your favorite exotic Martini. I love how he makes my Dirty Martinis. The salmon salad is a favorite choice for my boyfriend and i to share and the Thai crab cakes are yummy. I tried almost everything and enjoyed it all but I mention my favorites above. Great for a first date and decor is of beautiful Joyous Asian ambiance. When I'm home I visit Wild Ginger at least once a week and order takeout all the time. Prices are reasonable. read more

I called Wild Ginger to ask about their delivery proximity as it was my first time ordering delivery and was told "within 3 miles of restaurant, $20 minimum order". I'm 2.6 miles away according to Google Maps and Waze. I ordered $30 worth of food + 20% tip, paid online and received a call back saying they don't deliver to my area, "it's too far" when I confirmed that it was 2.6 miles away, I was told she doesn't have enough drivers. Ate here Saturday night with my wife and sister-in-law. Restaurant is much bigger than it appears from the outside. Decor is nice. Menu is pretty extensive. We started with dumplings and crab cakes as appetizers. There were 5 dumplings filled with shrimp and pork. Very tasty. There were 4 crab cakes that were small but delicious with some heat included. My wife and I each had the special lobster cooked in a brown sauce with ginger and scallions. Awesome. Messy to eat because the brown sauce coats everything but it was one of the best lobsters I've ever had. My sister-in-law had sesame crusted salmon and said it was very good. Prices were reasonable. I generally find these Asian fusion places to be disappointing but this tasted like authentic cooking. We will definitely be back. read more

Went here originally with a group of friends and LOVED IT. So have been back a few times since with different people, and every time I go everyone has nothing but great things to say. The food is great! The service is good, I am not a huge fan of the seating arrangements. The first time I went we got a kind of private area, but since then I am always seated in the front which is kind of like a long hall, and you are very close to the table next to you! Ordered on the phone and had a little difficulty when placing the order, but in the end, I got everything I was trying to order so it worked out perfect! Great menu selection with a wide range of sushi and Asian fusion. I ordered the peach Cosmo which was delicious and the steamed vegetable dumplings and the ultimate roll for dinner. AMAZING. My boyfriend's sesame chicken was tender white meat and the fried rice was definitely fresh. My friend ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer and it was enough for her whole meal. Nice big portions. Our table was very close to our neighbors and it was hard to get in and out because we sat in a booth-type seat, but other than that, can't complain. However please be aware of the tip gouging when the gentlemen driving a silver Prius enters your driveway for a delivery. When Wild Ginger first opened, it was the best...good food, good scene, which is a rare find in the sleepy town of Bronxville, but in the last few years this place has gotten lazy and gone down hill. It's still OK, but just OK. Plus, it's usually pretty empty, so I doubt the fish is as fresh as it was when you had to wait for a table on a weeknight. Food is good and reasonably priced but I went there for lunch and got a bento box. I ordered the tofu option and asked if I could get an avocado roll instead of a california roll stating that I don't eat meat. He told me there was no meat in it, just crab meat. I said I don't eat any meat including fish. He was reluctant but because the person I was with agreed to also get an avocado roll he accommodated me/us. BUT when the food came I took a bite of the dumpling and it was filled with chicken. I almost threw up. IF you have a vegetarian main meal option the entire meal should also be vegetarian, that's basic common sense. Little hidden gem in Bronxville with a large menu full of Asian fusion entrees and sushi. I came in expecting the entrees to be the star of the show, but the specialty roll I had (with tuna, salmon, eel and more) stole the show. Me and my girlfriend both ordered sushi and it compared to some other high class sushi restaurants I have been too. I ordered the Wild Ginger Chicken and she ordered the Pan Pan Noodles, and both were pretty good. I loved the veggies that came with mine, and for the price, you can't beat the portion sizes they give you. They also had a good drink menu and some Sake on their menu, which was nice to see. If you want some great sushi, don't hesitate to try this place out. There's a ton of options on the menu ready to satisfy any palate and all at a pretty good price. Food is decent but my last delivery experience was poor. Driver got mad at me when I said I paid online that he's too busy. When he called the restaurant to confirm I was right he was not apologetic. I placed an order to go from this restaurant and some of the items I wanted they said they didn't have in take out. Anyway I ordered soup, and a few main meals and asked for brown rice. When I got the order home, I had started with the wonton soup and found a fly in the soup. From there the meal went down hill, the lo mien was non had no taste. We ordered miso soup which was not included and we wanted brown rice for the 3 main meals and they included a small container. I think it is the better of the two main sushi restaurants in Bronxville. The food is consistent and very good. One thing that surprised me was some poor reviews for their service. I have always had excellent service here as the staff is pleasant and helpful. I also think it is a really good value for what you get. The only negative is if you want an expansive wine list. Love the food and the atmosphere here! The spring rolls are always delicious and sushi never fails to please. I tried the yaki udon the other day and really enjoyed it as well. The man who drives the white Honda who works here is the biggest jerk! I constantly see him harassing people when he is driving and yelling rude things out his window.. Not really the best idea to do right in front of your restaurant. I haven't had any personal experiences with him but very glad I haven't! My wife ordered lunch specials to be delivered from Wild Ginger to our house. Due to an issue with GrubHub, the driver was unable to find the house - but rather than politely asking for directions, he spent several minutes literally screaming at my wife over the phone. When she hung up and called the restaurant to cancel the order, the hostess and manager both made excuses for the driver and said that she would have to call GrubHub to get her refund. This completely unprofessional behavior has made us never want to order from this restaurant again - besides which, the food we have had here in the past had been grossly oversalted. We'd recommend the nearby Sun Xing Garden for comparable takeout food at a much lower price, not to mention far superior customer service. read more

It's not often that I feel compelled to write such a terrible review- but last weekend I looked at yelp to figure out where to get some thai/asian food and found Wild Ginger to be rated fairly well. I've also eaten here several years ago so I figured- why not? Well 45$ later I had a meal at my house (Takeout) that I can only describe as inedible. I ordered the lemongrass shrimp as well as a yellowtail jalepeno roll and a spicy salmon roll. All three were not fresh tasting- the shrimp was the worst however. If I had been eating at the restaurant I would have had to send it back. It was fishy, dry, overall just terrible tasting. The sushi rolls were not good. They did not taste fresh either and were rolled in such a way that they fell apart when trying to eat them. I was absolutely disgusted and angry to have wasted my money and hunger. I ended up throwing away the shrimp completely. Please do not waste your time- I would much prefer anything else in Bronxville! read more

This place is okay, but only okay. There are some obvious missteps that need to be corrected in order for it to be above a 2-star category. First, and most importantly, the service really needs to be improved. For example, the waitress quickly took our order for appetizers (the whole process was very rushed), and our chicken lettuce wraps and vegetable steamed dumplings came out a few minutes later. The problem is that the waitress never asked for our entire order, such as our main entrees, and left the menus with us. We awkwardly ate our appetizers with our menus on our laps. I can honestly say that I have never had that happen to me in a restaurant. After we finally flagged down our waitress (we finished our appetizers), we had to explicitly state we would like to order entrees and please take our menus. The waitress gave us no insight into the ingredients of the various rolls, and we had to ask her, practically line-by-line. Their customer service really needs to be improved. Furthermore, the sushi leaves much to be left desired. We ordered four different rolls, and all were small and unimaginative. On the bright side: the appetizers were wonderful! The lettuce wraps were make-your-own, and were flavored just right that it was tasty without being overly spicy. Also, the décor was cute, and the place seemed lively and popular. Overall, I wouldn't come here again until there are some changes with the staff and the main menu. Very disappointed! We first arrived and were seated promptly. We waited about 15 minutes for a waiter, a nice guy came and asked if we ordered yet. So he took us. We got our food shortly after and I was very pleased by the food. We didn't see our waiter for the rest of the night. We just had a woman come around and fill our water glasses. So we received our check and left a small tip on the receipt, since we didn't have a set waiter we were unaware who to tip. One waiter came and collected the check and asked us to return regarding an error. He told my boyfriend that he wrote the total wrong. He checked and everything was correct. He then asked about the tip, claiming that he was our waiter and that he needed the tip. We explained to him that we didn't know who to tip and he complained and demanded a tip. the first time i tried this place i wasn't too impressed. sushi takes up the majority of the menu and i assumed that's what to get. i think that was a mistake. the seaweed nori was soggy and spongy. meanwhile my girlfriend got a beef pot type dish and i was jealous throughout dinner. this time around i decided on udon with pork. the portion size was perfect - not too much, not too little - and it tasted great, like the beef pot the first time. maybe i just had bad luck with the sushi, but if that's what i'm the mood for i'll head over to haiku right around the corner. still, when in the mood for japanese food that's not sushi, this place has good stuff to offer. read more

My wife and I Love finding new places to eat. We try to stay away from the routines of eating at the same places just because we know it is good. The way we like to do things is find a place, eat there, and if it's good then spread the word and find another. This is how we found Wild Ginger, through word of mouth and on the internet. The first time this place opened up we thought to ourselves, "Finally, a hip place outside of Manhattan!" The food was well prepared, plating was beautiful, service was great, and the decor was very hip. As with every restaurant, the goal should be to stay on top and continue to strive to be the best. Well, as for this restaurant, they were heading down the wrong path. My wife and I have gone to this place a total of 5 times. It would have been more if the food, plating, and service was worth going for. The sashimi was once cold and fresh but is now warm and sliced by the hands of a novice sushi chef. The spicy tuna tartar was once served in a martini glass surrounded by greens and garnishes but now served on a plate with PRINGLES (Yes, Pringle Chips) shoved into the tartar for decoration. The service, what once was close to a four star restaurant now seems to be close to a family who started a restaurant, hired their son having no waiting experience to take care of patrons. The only thing that might be worth going there for are the stir fry noodles. But even that is stretching it because it tastes just the same if you ordered it from a Chinese Take Out Restaurant. I recently went there on 9/25/09 just to give it one last shot but as I have said in my earlier statement. Wild Ginger has lost all its energy that it had since it first opened up. I'm not sure if they changed owners or what the excuse might be. But one thing is for sure and that is I will never walk in that place again. read more

Don't know what's going on recently. We order from here at least 2-3 times a month or come in. Last order was about 10$ more. Not the delivery guys problem when I looked at my dinner special I was charged extra for soup and a roll.. I didn't bother to call because I am not going to argue. The sushi was great, and sometimes the delivery process can take forever and it would be nice to give a real estimate of time, don't say 30 minutes and come 90 minutes later. One time a delivery guy came back to my apartment after I paid and tipped. The delivery man knocked heavily on the door demanding to see the 5$ coupon which I show every time, next time I will let my dog open the door. Maybe some communication and staff issues. read more
