This place is so cute. I came here with my family on a Sunday morning and it was pretty packed. Waited in line for 45 mins or so. The waiting time to be seated took 35 minutes. I ordered the stuffed French toast And it was delicious. I also ordered the large rainbow latte. I really enjoyed eating there because it was outdoor and food is really delicious. My husband ordered the burrito which I tried and it was delicious and my daughter ordered waffles and she loved it. The service is good but just a heads up the parking is really hard. Super cute place for brunch. I enjoyed the drive up Chevy Chase Drive. It's a nice little outdoor seating place which is perfect for our current Covid restrictions. I tried the avocado toast with a poached egg and it was delicious. My friend had the stuffed French toast. I personally was not a fan of the orange marmalade. I feel a berry marmalade would work better than the tanginess of orange. I was a bit disappointed in the digital latte, the actual latte is very bland its not strong or has any particular flavor so I added some honey. The digital quote is cute but a little bit faint. The orange juice was fresh and so delicious. Over all this place is worth a try for a local brunch! read more

Super hidden gem! Honestly the drive was really nice and only about 10 minutes getting off the 134. This is a really cute cafe to go for a weekend lunch and really feels like a little getaway because it's tucked away in the hills. I went for lunch with my coworker and I ordered the Red Dragon (strawberry, blueberry, pineapple beets, banana, ginger and almond milk). It was delicious, I wish I had ordered a large. I also ordered the Brussel sprouts salad (Brussel sprouts, parmesan cheese, toasted almonds) which was good since I had the smoothie to balance out the meal. I went here on a Sunday for brunch with company. It is visibly located on Chevy Chase, there are a few parking spots available and plenty of street parking. We got the Sweet Veggie juice and Print latte. You can choose what type of print you want on your latte from their 9-12 options. We also had the Breakfast Sandwich and Waffles as well as the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with side of sweet potato fries. The beverages were delightful. The sandwiches were also delicious. I am giving a star less because it was a bit pricey. I had similar type of the foods ordered with the same quality elsewhere for a cheaper price. Service was good. read more

Wow, this place is a great hidden gem. We were driving through the neighborhood and out popped Wild Oak Café out of no where. It's located next to Chevy Chase Country Club and away from hustle & bustle of the city. From the appearance, the place looks like it used to be a gas station or convenience store at one time. Not at all too shabby and adds character to the place. It serves breakfast and lunch with lots of sandwiches, burgers and salads options. They also have an awesome selection of cakes and pastries on display. Seating options are limited inside, but they offer cozy front outdoor patio. We actually came here for breakfast, ordered their breakfast sandwich and french toast. Both were fantastic, but french toast was extra ordinary. The key was brioche bread which creates a light and creamier texture. Nice caramelized exterior from egg batter. It was stuffed with gooey cream cheese and orange marmalade jam, served with side of fresh strawberry slices and whipped cream. Utensils were optional, just pick it up like a sandwich and devour. It might get a bit sticky and messy, but all good things were made that way for reason for maximum deliciousness. The breakfast sandwich was excellent too. Not your traditional straight, moon shape croissant. The bread was square shaped, lightly toasted on griddle with a concentrated combo of traditional AM ingredients (eggs, cheese and especially bacon). You can thank Wild Oak Cafe after your mid-morning nap. Only minus is their location which is deep inside hillside canyon and not conveniently close to fwy for quick bites before work, but worth a visit if you have the time or in the area. Here today and the wait is not a joke, must be really good that people rushed in here inspite and despite that this is up Chevy Chase by the golf club. The only thing that I don't like is no one telling the customers to wait outside to get in.. people are crowding by the door waiting to put in their orders and the servers don't have enough room to go back and forth serving the food . Some Customers are inconsiderate blocking the door and not even giving way to servers with big trays and trays of coffee to be served . I hope that when I come back again it will be more organized and or post something outside that when it's full inside they can wait outside or somebody should be in charge of the "traffic" and direct people bcos some don't really read what is posted on their walls as reminders. Otherwise .. I can't wait to place my brunch order .. we have been in line for an hour I hope it's worth the wait . Perfect brunch spot just a short drive away from Descanso Gardens! The view is pretty nice from their outdoor patio and each table has hand sanitizer provided. Street parking is pretty convenient but they do have their own small lot (about 6 spots). You order inside and the food is brought out to you. There's also complimentary self-serve iced water inside along with extra condiments. The lady who took my order and my friend's order was very knowledgeable and helped us decide what to get; overall, service was excellent. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich with a side of fries and it exceeded my expectations. The sandwich had many thick slices of roasted turkey, several pieces of bacon, and a decent amount of avocado. Their pickled onions worked well with the flavors in the sandwich. Do *not* come here to work. 2/5: Coupon said that they open at 6 am. They opened at 7 am. "Sorry, we changed the hours." 2/5: Service was not that great. "Sure, hon....." please do NOT call me "hon" unless we are in Mississippi. Staff seemed inexperienced, a very high school vibe. Took forever to get my breakfast burrito. 2/5: Food was just okay. I had the Egg White Breakfast Burrito which was mainly potato and very, very bland. $10.00???? My free blueberry muffin (coupon was for a free coffee and muffin with order of breakfast) was actually quite good, although I would have preferred the cranberry (which they were out of.) 3/5: Atmosphere. All the tables are outside. ALL! So if it's a bit windy, rainy or cold, be prepared. It is lovely under the oak trees, however. 4/5: Coffee was good (Peet's). It used to be good a year ago but I guess there are new owners and it's been bad ever since. The negative reviews are true. The past 2 times we came here it's been the same story. The breakfast items are good. It will be longer to get your order if you order a rice bowl item. The line for the wait is loooooong. We waited close to 2 hours for 3 rice bowls and dessert. It was the weekend after the nth lockdown so it's probably why we waited that long. On a normal day, the ambience is nice as it is nestled on the corner of mountain roads near Glendale in the vicinity of the Chevy Chase Country Club greenery. Great for a morning coffee fix but beware - the later the day, the longer the wait. read more
