This is a very nice, classy looking extension of Wild River Grille. I actually prefer this to Wild River Grille bc of the view of Virginia St and the river and it's more spacious with high ceilings. They have this whiskey flight where you pay $15 for three 1 ounce pours of bourbon, Canadian whisky, or rye whiskey. It's an awesome deal and allows you to sample a variety of whiskey. It's all day any day, the best flight deal for liquor in Reno, actually the only one. They also have more whiskey than any other bar in Reno including, you'd never think, Whiskey Bar. Great service and eclectic food menu. They also have live music certain Sundays. Wish more people knew about this place. Reno seriously needs a 30-something yuppie crowd, bc they'd love this place. Another nice find along the river in Reno, away from the casinos and their buffets. There are plenty of tables on the terrace outside with a small stage for the band to play. Had a reservation for a party of 6 at 830 on a Saturday night. By 930 we were the only group left in the restaurant. The flavor of the food was good, prices were a bit on the high side for what it was. I had salmon which tasted nice but the rice was undercooked to the point that it was too hard to eat. Honest mistake. The drink list was good. The deserts were all bad, over cooked or stale I guess sums it up. This is definitely my favorite Riverwalk location! My dog and I (yes - dogs are allowed!!) sat on the patio to enjoy some of the early spring weather this week. As always, I was impressed. Great food and service - great patio atmosphere and location. Beer on tap was micro-brew and delicious. Had mushroom truffle ravioli ($25) and my my wife had grilled Salmon ($25) both of which were great. Scallops appetizer also really good if a little overlooked for my taste. Service was friendly and not overbearing even though they were busy. They even comped a round of beers as the main courses took a little time to get out. Attentive but not intrusive service. We liked the menu - not TOO many choices and the choices they did offer were creative, sounded great and I imagine all done well. Just the way I like it! We shared the lobster mac and cheese which was very tasty and a really good size for being an appetizer portion. They did not skimp on the lobster either which is appreciated. Normally you get a few pieces in the entire dish, this had hearty chunks in every bite. A meal in itself! I had the black bean burger with Portabello mushroom and pea shoots - really, really tasty! The BF had the salmon BLT which I did not taste although he said it was quite good, the salmon was cooked well and he ate the whole thing. Decided to finally give this place a try despite the construction. Had a great lunch with some co-workers. I had the wild river salad, and it was great. The rest of the table ordered burgers and fish and chips. Everyone's meals looked amazing (especially the French fries!) The patio was cool and shady, and there was a great ambiance. This was only our second visit to this gem on the river. Sure, it will be easier to get there once the bridge opens, but for a local like me, not a problem. We arrived pre-Broadway comes to Reno and found the Prix Fixe menu perfect for our dining interests. ANGELA was our server and she is a Rock Star! Beautiful salad. Filet cooked to perfection, medium rare thank you. Dessert...Toffee Sticky Pudding OMG! The wine served with our Prix Fixe was a good size pour Cab. I will go again and again. We went for happy hour on Wednesday January 23rd and had a great experience. Happy Hour is 4-6pm/ M-F. We were seated by the window at Virginia Street and did some people watching. The place was moderately crowded. Our server, Angela, was top notch. Perfect timing on everything; she was upbeat and friendly. I had a raspberry lemon drop martini and I don't like them too sweet and asked to maybe lessen the brandy or simple syrup aspect. She took it upon herself to ask the bartender to void the sugar lined rim, which was perfect and a great idea! The food was really good - salmon/crab cakes, magyu sliders, thai wings. The wings were very crispy and were covered in chili sauce too, which was perfect and the way I like them. Prices are good, service is excellent and food is delicious. I recently had my wedding at the Sierra Arts Foundation (Right next door to the Wild River Grille) and we had our food catered from the Wild River Grille. I was absolutely blown away at the amazing service, food, and overall experience we had! Kayla was our event coordinator and I could not have asked for a better woman through it all! She recommended the Sierra Arts Foundation to hold our wedding and wedding reception and our day was perfect. She was in contact with me every step of the way, and always got back to me in a timely manner. Kayla and her staff stayed through the wedding reception and were constantly making sure our guests were taken care of with food/drinks! The venue itself was stunning after some decorations and special touches - I would recommend this venue/catering to ANY bride who is looking for a fun/hip venue in an awesome location that won't break the bank! The food from the Wild River Grille was even better than I could have imagined. We got to pick a menu that fit us and what we wanted and we are still having people comment on how great dinner was!! The outdoor setting on the Riverwalk and the live music made dinner here a really special night. We ate outdoors right in front of the musicians (who were excellent), but were still able to talk. The weather cooperated by being beautiful (mid August.) The staff was very friendly and efficient. The hostess, noting that we had a party of 5, took one of the chairs away so no one person on the end was isolated and also that that side of the table had more space. The wine list is varied, and the beers and mixed drinks are also good (I hear). The menu is not huge, but it was a nice, mixed selection. I had the special which was a spicy tomato pasta, which was well flavored, not too spicy, and the noodles were au dente. Two of the party had the white pasta which they both seemed to enjoy. One friend had the meatloaf and the other the jerk chicken, which both said they liked, but didn't finish. The brownie ice cream dessert was excellent. A nice size and served at that perfect so that the brownie is warm, but the chocolate covered ice cream is not yet melting. We have hosted our holiday staff party here every year for quite some time. They reserve a large, private room called the River Room. It is quite spacious, luxurious, and delightful. The food is incredible, the service is friendly and punctual, and the ambiance is lovely. I consider it a real treat any time I get to eat here. We had our company Christmas party here. They did not have coffee!!! Very disappointed. How does a restaurant NOT have coffee.

My husband and I received a $100 gift certificate at Christmas from our daughter-in-law to be, Marissa Knight. Amongst all the chaos of people unwrapping gifts, the gift certificates were lost or possibly thrown away. I was very disappointed and upset and I didn't want to have to tell Marissa that we lost the gift from her. I ended up telling her. The next day she was discussing it with a co-worker and Chuck, the owner of the Wild River Grill, overheard them. He told her that he would be more than happy to give us a replacement $100 gift card to use. I was shocked that he was willing to replace it with no questions. We ended up having a wonderful dinner, inside a cool, hip restaurant. His son Chris, was our waiter, (we did not know that at the time) and he was wonderful as well; very personable, funny & attentive. This is by far one of Reno's finest and most accessible eating establishments. The food is excellent, and the location, right on the Truckee river in view of downtown, is great! It's so nice to sit outside by the river, listen to some quality live music, and be served some of the best dishes that Reno has to offer. In particular, their fish dishes really stand out... For some, the casual nature of Reno can seem a bit strange at first, But it's this mix of quality and casual that makes this place so special. Best of all, this restaurant is run by a awesome group of people who genuinely care about your eating experience. during my visit the manager was there, interacting with his customers, and making sure everyone was happy. Three of us were looking for some place to listen to jazz and found they have live jazz during their "Sundays Uncorked" which is a wine and food pairing. $25 per person was very reasonable for four wines and four plates. The portions were small as would be expected during a tasting, but it also was during the hours of 2pm-5pm, so the plates were the perfect size. We all agreed that the beet and cucumber appetizer with horseradish sauce was our favorite. The atmosphere was casual, the music was good, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. It was too cold to sit outside, but I look forward to returning during the warmer weather and dining on the patio by the river. We will definitely be back! read more
