Food: The menu was shockingly limited. We came for lunch and were disappointed to find only a handful of sandwiches available. If they had been excellent, it would have been OK--but that wasn't the case. We ordered the Jardiniere, and it was borderline inedible. The overwhelming taste was straight vinegar, the kind that makes your jaw clench from the acidity. It lacked balance, nuance, or even basic palatability. Honestly, a store-bought jar of jardiniere would have been more enjoyable. The Prime Rib Sandwich was equally underwhelming. It consisted of a few limp, unseasoned, greasy slices of beef topped with a smear of horseradish. Any random deli in San Diego could make a better sandwich. Service: We chose to sit on the patio with our small dog, who was quietly sitting on the bench next to us. A staff member--possibly the manager--stormed over and, in a harsh and unnecessary tone, told us, "You need to get your dog off the bench now." We apologized and complied immediately, but soon noticed that another table, occupied by a white couple, had their dog on the bench without issue. We approached the same woman to ask if the rule applied to everyone. Only then did she, in a much gentler tone, go over and politely ask the other table to bring their dog down. It was a nice warm day so we sat outside but had to move because the sun was directly on us and the umbrella couldn't be moved because of location so we moved into the shade. After we were seated, it took about 15 min for a waitress to take our drink orders and another 25-30 min to get our cold brew coffee's. It must have sat so long that the ice was completely melted and watered down. I sent it back and stuck to my water that was never refilled. The waitress was kind enough to offer to take it off the bill though. The food was very good, we all enjoyed what we ordered. It took a while to get the bill after we asked for it and even longer for it to be picked up and closed out. We split the bill evenly 4 ways but the coffee was still on there. I opted to not leave a tip as my coffee was not taken off per the waitress offering. Good food, bad drinks, horrible service. I wouldn't come back here again. read more

Great place for date night or family night, really incredible ambiance and vibe. The food is great, and the branding is pretty cool - you'll know what I mean when you go. Great mediterranean food with a hearty twist. They just opened up recently. I had the kale salad and chicken, tasted fresh but also flavorful. Sauce was really unique and delicious. My wife and I split the panna cotta at the end, I'm normally not a dessert guy but we decided to splurge... nor do I really write reviews but this place deserved it! Very bad experience today when 3 girlfriends and I went to informally celebrate my birthday. We wanted to seat inside as it was a gloomy morning and was a bit cold to sit outside. We were not greeted with any welcoming smile and were told we could not sit next to someone else because that would be too many people together. The place was not full and the person who was seating there was not consuming anything and with a laptop wide open. As I understand this is a business and not the public library nor a coworking space, made the people working there know we were disappointed. No one seemed to care. Only the girl with the cool glasses was listening when I explained why we were deceived. Other 2 employees listened but said nothing. Independently if the girl with the laptop end up ordering food or not, it just kills the vibe of a restaurant or coffee shop and business should give preference to more customers that are willing to consume. Also, a lot of more enthusiasm would be greatly appreciated. Cool design and I am pretty sure coffee and things are great. We ended up at the bakery across the street. read more

My boyfriend and I were extremely excited to try this new spot, we have been following them on social media and loved watching this beautiful space be built over the past couple months. We made reservations on a Friday night and were seated promptly. The space was absolutely beautiful and the service was great. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing:( Firstly, they were completely out of sandwiches, so we were disappointed that they hadn't told us until 15 minutes after we were seated and about to order. The sandwiches were the main reason we wanted to eat here. If they had told us the moment we got the menu, I probably would have gone somewhere else. There is a big price jump from the sandwiches to the plates (from $15-$20 to $40) which i didn't feel comfortable paying that much for a plate that doesn't even come with sides. We ordered the wildflour cocktail, kale salad, and sweet potato side to try since we were already there. The cocktail was so delicious! The kale salad was okay. I felt like I couldn't really taste any of the dressing and toppings. For $15 I expected more from the salad other than plain kale. I was most excited to try the sweet potatoes, but unfortunately 60% of the potatoes were undercooked. Within the first bite, it was completely raw and crunchy. I feel like I would have liked this dish if it was fully cooked, as the toppings paired well with the sweet potatoes. Overall, I see potential in the restaurant as the ingredients and atmosphere is top notch. However, considering the high price tag, poor execution, and lack of uniqueness to each dish I don't think I would return. read more

love the food the one time we went to be fair, but you guys HAVE to get your hours together and consistent across Yelp, Google Maps, your IG, etc. Me and my girlfriend just drove 30 minutes to a closing sign at 4pm. I get you might have new hours, but it said on Google Maps you were closed and Yelp you were open. Plus, we were there eating at around 530pm one day in the last couple weeks, so we figured you might be open again. For the price - you get just a sandwich, and being a delicatessen - I was hoping for a homemade pickle or some sort of unique side to go with the sandwich. We came to Wildflour on Sunday during their soft opening. Any review that talks about deficiencies in service need to recognize that they've been open for less than a week. You know things are going to take longer, the menu will be fluid, and service will be different from what you'd expect from a kitchen that's been running for years. That being said, we ordered a concha in each flavor and a panderas. They were phenomenal! The coffee here is fantastic, I had their brewed coffee and our friends had the late. Solid cup of coffee, not watered down at all. Our friends ordered the scramble with trout roe and mentioned it was the best eggs they'd ever had. We waited a little bit longer and ordered off the lunch menu. The prime rib sandwich was exceptional. There was a healthy serving of meat and cheese! The Mortadella was my favorite: great size, awesome flavor profile and textures. The focaccia was perfectly toasted. I loved the Caesar salad as well! We had six people in our group and we were able to be sat immediately. You have airplanes flying over as expected but otherwise it was great! Comfortable seating, plenty of space for everyone and we never felt like we were scrunched together with the other tables. We will definitely be going back! They have a cinnamon roll and other similar pastries as to Con Pane without the long line and a whole menu with real food. Wanted to love this deli but we did not. The bread to filling ratio for the price was disappointing. I had gravlax sandwich and he had prime rib sandwich. Despite the heavy traffic, the floors still glistened, and every table was kept orderly by the staff. Wildflour offers premier drink and food options unlike any other establishment in the San Diego area. Complimentary to the food, the staff offers a vibe that makes you feel like you're sitting amongst family and friends. Helena did an outstanding job of explaining each food and drink option while providing her personal favorites. And to me, the highlight of this experience, was the Tiramisu, which was recommended by Jimmy. After waiting a long time to try Wildflour, I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the food. First off, breakfast ends at noon, but they don't bring out the lunch menu until 1pm. However, they're happy to seat you at noon--just be aware that your choices are limited to a few sandwiches and salads during that in-between hour...which is when a lot of people eat lunch. I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Unfortunately, the focaccia was pretty dry and overwhelmed the small amount of ingredients inside. To make matters worse, about half my meat was pure gristle that I literally had to spit out. It also does not come with anything and the one side that sounded apetizing was not available. I'll reserve full judgment until I try one of their larger, full-course meals for dinner. If I have a better experience then, I'll happily update my review but the menu in my dining experience was far too limited and the option I chose unfortunately was not impressive. On the plus side, the service was great, and the location and atmosphere are excellent. I hope they put a little more effort into the menu, because I'd like to come back and have a better experience next time. read more

Came on Saturday for their soft opening so I knew they would probably have some kinks to work out. It wasn't clear if we get seated or go to the counter to order and then sit so I went straight to the counter and ordered a matcha. I only found out they were also seating people when other people had servers (totally could've been my bad but a sign would've been helpful). The person at register was friendly and asked if I wanted milk for my kid and so I assumed it was free (it wasn't on the menu either) but they charged me $4 for a cup of milk... I wouldn't have paid for it but I already asked my kid if she wanted it. I don't think the person on register knew it wasn't free either because I saw her asking someone about it after. They didn't have any of their baked goods in the menu yet so I got their mortadella sandwich. The filling was really good but the focaccia tasted a bit stale... they also didn't have napkins or a trashcan accessible to customers which is a bit inconvenient. I don't think this is a grab your coffee and read your book kind of atmosphere, it's more like restaurant. The interior is very pretty though and I love the pops of blue and their logo. I've been here for breakfast and dinner, and both times were delightful. The coffee drinks at breakfast and the cocktails at dinner are equally inventive and tasty.
