Rude customer service and below average sandwiches! Me and my husband chose wild flower for lunch during our one day visit to Sedona. The lunch hour was pretty busy. We found our way to the order counter and were excited to eat. I had the parmesan chicken and my husband had beef sandwich (don't remember the name sorry). I initially hoped to order pasta, but the server rudely said it's only after 3pm for dinner. Then I took sometime to look at the menu and ordered chicken parmesan. She literally made faces while I took some extra time to compensate for my pasta. I know and understand busy hours and long que of customers can be tricky, but you don't have to show your frustration right away! Anyways, we went ahead and got seated. Our food came a little late. My husband went inside to check as we decided to seat outside and enjoy the view with our food. The food, what can I say! The chicken was boiled, plain, no seasoning with marinara sauce slapped on top of it, part of the sauce was on the edges of the plate, as if someone had thrown the sauce! The bread was on the bottom soaking all the marinara and the water of chicken, making it soft and soggy! Worst garlic bread ever. The perfect meal while visiting Sedona. We were so tired of eating out in overpriced, touristy restaurants serving up very mediocre food. Yeah, it's pretty much a Panera, but there's a reason Panera is a successful chain. The roasted sweet potato sandwich was so good. The perfect sweet and savory item with the fig confit, balsamic vinaigrette, and goat cheese. They serve the sandwiches with a mix of potato and sweet potato chips so something for everyone! The secret gem though is the Georgia Peach smoothie! In a world of expensive juices and smoothies, this was 1. a bargain and 2. delicious with peach, yogurt, and lavender (!!!). Visiting the area and stopped in for brunch. The ambiance was very modern and cozy with glass plant arrangements and remarkable views of majestic mountains that filled the window pane. They have an extensive menu with lots of healthy choices. We ordered hot soup to help battle the cold outside. Scones, eggs, potatoes, and salads got our day started. We placed our order at the cashiers. They delivered it to us, wow nice!.....They also gave us some samples before placing our order which helped us make our decision. Best orange juice I've ever had. Not sure if it's just because I haven't had it In a while or maybe oranges are just better in Arizona but it was so good! The avocado toast was also flavorful and had the right amount of bread to avocado ratio. The view is always a plus and the food got to us pretty quickly despite them saying it may be a 25 min wait to get our food. We stopped by for breakfast/brunch on Veteran's Day and it wasn't that busy. We were able to snag seats in front of the warm fireplace and our food came out pretty quickly. Ordered the sweet potato sandwich online and was able to add customizations and a pick up time which was nice. The roasted sweet potato sandwich usually comes with sweet potato, goat cheese, fig confit, tomatoes, organic arugula, fennel and balsamic vinaigrette on herb focaccia. I was able to swap the goat cheese for brie for free. When I brought my order home I realized they used nine grain bread instead of the focaccia which was annoying. At least it tasted good still. All the ingredients tasted fresh and high quality and was a good size. This sandwich does lean on the sweeter side. It also comes with a mix of sweet potato and regular potato chips. This place was amazing! My friends and I were looking for a pasta place that wouldn't break our wallets when we stumbled across Wildflower. From 3pm to close they serve pasta dishes. I got the rosemary chicken pasta (pictured) and my friends got the salmon fettuccine and the Mediterranean pasta salad. We all said the same thing, that this was the best pasta we've ever had! It was very reasonably priced for the portions you get. I also got and oat milk chai latte which was really good too. This is, hands down, the best cafe in Sedona if you are not price-insensitive. As most folks are aware, Sedona restaurants often have "Sedona prices" in view of the upper-crust visitors. Well, Wildflower is part of a (small) Arizona chain so they have prices that are "normal". The three-cheese frittata is awesome for breakfast. They used to have a totally wonderful sweet potato & greens bowl with eggs for breakfast. But alas this was replaced with a shakshuka. A shakshuka is an interesting dish, but nowhere as filling; it is a bit one-dimensional in my view. And a lot more choices if you eat meat, but I don't. Do not forget to get one of their scones. These are the best scones I have ever encountered anywhere. They are not really a scone, more like a layered puff pastry slice. Wildly good! For lunch, a side order of mac-and-cheese is totally scrumptious. This does not come with bread, so you have to order a ciabatta roll extra. You could also order bread, but for some reason, this costs more. These add-ons are not listed on the menu, you have to ask. The "side order" size of mac-n-cheese will fill most people, apart from the lumberjacks or teenagers. If you want more food, get a side order of hummus. This does come with slices of bread and is also totally wonderful. They also make a decent latte here. Not fancy, more or less Starbucks quality. But Starbucks of course will not give you real meals. Their name is Wildflower Bread and they are, indeed, the best bread bakery in town, by far. Not that they have much competition. Whole Foods does have a few decent breads, but Wildflower is tops. I'm especially partial to their rosemary/sea salt loaves. I am also very impressed with the staff. Apparently they have a policy sort of like Trader Joe's: you can't work there, unless you are friendly and helpful to the customers. This is much appreciated, as is Brittany, the manager. It is also a good place to get a latte in the evening, when many places are closed. Note however that you won't get any bread or pastries after maybe 10 or 11 am; they sell out. You can get dinner here, but these are only pastas. While their pastas are wonderful, I generally try to minimize my carbs, especially for dinner. But they are open until 8 pm. Also note that unlike their locations in Flagstaff or Prescott, they are generally slammed. A wise person would not show up here at noon on a Saturday; not if you want to eat the same day anyhow. This of course is not their fault--they are good, so everybody goes there. A word about your breakfast alternatives. The Coffee Pot is a Sedona tradition and is open very early. But it's 1950s food, which many of us think is passe these days. Nic's is sort of like The Coffee Pot. 1950s food, but even less inspired than The Coffee Pot. The Pumphouse Bistro serves a top-rate lox Benedict and has a sweet vibe. But it does have Sedona prices. Also, their lattes are sub-par, which should not be, in a classy joint. Finally, Layla's. You've been warned, if you go there. Horrible dreck. Sugar in everything, including all the ostensibly savory dishes. Yikes. That's pretty much it, apart from the hotels. read more

We were looking for a quick breakfast option uptown, decided upon Wildflower. I got the sausage, pepper, egg sandwich, it was delicious! Everything looked and tasted freshly prepared, not like they are just heating up a pre-made sandwich. One of my kids got the kids' egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, it came with fruit (pineapple and grapes) and a cookie. My other got a pumpkin muffin, which she loved, but the woman who brought out the food came back with a side of fruit and a cookie for her as well which I thought was so nice. I'm not usually a cookie with breakfast kind of mom, but before a full day of hiking on vacation it seems like a little breakfast dessert is good.
