I recently met my girlfriend Olivia at Willa's to celebrate her belated birthday, and it was such a delightful experience. First off, I was thrilled that they have their own parking lot--no fighting for a spot, which is a win in Tampa! The building itself is gorgeous, with a blend of aesthetic greenery, pots, and plants that give it a welcoming vibe. While there's a lovely outdoor patio, we opted for indoor seating. The interior is stunning--the best way I can describe the motif is tropical 1940s meets modern flair. The menu is impressive, offering something for everyone, including vegan options. We were lucky enough to catch their all-day happy hour, which made our experience even better. I started with a lavender cocktail (served in charming glassware with a creative garnish), and Olivia chose a cucumber gimlet. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, from the drinks to the presentation. For food, we shared the tahini Caesar salad and ceviche (with extra shrimp), which was more than enough for us. The portions were generous, the flavors were incredible, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The ceviche, paired with seasoned tortilla chips, was a standout. Definitely worth the price. We finished with two espresso martinis made with Tito's, and as an espresso martini snob, I can confirm they were strong and perfectly crafted--no disappointment here! On our visit in September 2023, my mother and I initially faced a hurdle as the restaurant was closed for a private event. However, upon our return, we had the pleasure of savoring a delightful lunch experience. I loved the ambiance and energy this restaurant has a great vibe. Our waitress, whose name escapes me due to the passage of time, left a lasting impression with her exceptional friendliness. She made us feel right at home. We were promptly seated at a lovely table and ordered Aperol Spritz and white Sangria to start. Our meal commenced with the delicious Rosemary Focaccia Bread, and I opted for the Classic Chicken Salad Sandwich while my mother relished an incredible Smash Cheeseburger. During our visit, a minor issue arose when a piece of plastic packaging from the sprouts found its way into my chicken salad. However, the staff handled the situation gracefully and promptly replaced my meal without any hassle. I understood that such mishaps can occur from time to time. Although, by that point, I had lost my appetite, the food had been very tasty. Our first visit to this establishment was profoundly disappointing. The manager/server, Joe, lacked basic menu knowledge and dismissed our inquiry about the butternut squash starter with an indifferent "eh." The bartender/server intervened, praising the dish as the best option, which seemed to offend Joe, who then walked away. The portion of the appetizer and the flow of business did not reflect the time it should have taken for my food to arrive. It took 20 minutes to get the butternut squash, and despite our request to have my partner's entrée served simultaneously, it was delayed. My tahini salad and my partner's steak sandwich were eventually served together; the salad and Mac & cheese was bland and tasteless. Throughout our meal, no one checked on our satisfaction. When we asked Joe for the check, he deflected responsibility, stating, "I'm not your server. The other guy can print it because he's better than me." When he looked over and noticed that the bartender was busy, Joe then says "Oh, he's in the weeds. Let me help him out." As a fellow server, I found this experience to be the worst dining service I've ever encountered. read more

Came here for brunch. Food was good but it was way overpriced--$40 for a meal and a latte, no alcohol. I also was unable to sub out one type of potato for another which I only wanted to do because I am a vegetarian and the potatoes came with chicken fat on them. The waitress INSISTED that I couldn't make this simple substition. The menu item says "potatoes or grits" and doesn't specify which kind of potoato so that's on the restaurant and they should have made the accommodation. She also wouldn't check to see if it was possible and when I continued to ask, she offered that I could order a side of fries in addition to the potatoes that the meal came with--which meant that I would spend even more. Bad customer service. If she were smart, she would've made it work. The menu also doesn't say "no substitutions" anywhere that I could see. I won't be returning. read more

I took a chance on "Nate's Plate," a recommendation I'd overheard! Delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, it exceeded all expectations. What impressed me most was the atmosphere at Willa's. Even packed, it felt relaxed and welcoming. Dining solo can sometimes be awkward, but I felt completely at ease. The staff's positive energy was contagious. Beautiful restaurant with quality staff and food. The double smash cheeseburger is my absolute favorite but if you're wanting something a little lighter try the Fred's salad with a side of frites *drools on the keyboard*. Every day of the week they have different specials for example, Wednesday night is Burger night so they make a different burger every week in addition to their infamous smash burger, Thursday is fried chicken night, Friday is a fish fry, Saturday is Mussels or rotating seafood and my favoriteeee is Sunday when they have a prime rib roast, 50% off all bottles of wine, AND 50% off food for industry workers! Sat at the bar, was well taken care of and bar tender was attentive. Ordered the ricotta sourdough with hazelnuts, perfect starter. The honey on it is almost caramel-y. Also the bread is a great texture, the thick crust has a crunch but not so tough you struggle to take a bite. I also got the vegetarian curry and it was yummy but kind of boring. I was probably missing out on meat seeing as I'm not a vegetarian. Drank the red sangria, good pour, stronger than you it tastes in a good way. read more

The place is cute and nice. The food was worth the 30-minute wait. I ordered Nate's plate, and the scrambled eggs were delightful. The fig latte was refreshing. I highly recommend this spot. I also got a peach cobbler for dessert, which was pretty good. I rated the service a 3 out of 5 because the staff was a bit cold before we sat down during our reservation.
