I was here for the first time a few years ago on a Saturday night with a group of friends and it was a fun time. I moved away and came back to the area so since I had such a fun time before and raved about it to my partner in crime, we decided to have dinner and drinks there one week night. As soon as we walked in, there were 2 men and a woman seated at a table to the right of the entrance and they couldn't stop staring. Once I finish this portion of the review, you will understand why I even mention this uncomfortable situation. We were seated and our server took our drink order. No problem with her as she was polite and helpful. As we waited for our drinks, the 3 gawkers were STILL staring and even whispering. I felt like we were in middle school. Jeez! And to my shock, the woman with the 2 men, turned out to be a server. (She had a rockabilly type look.) I don't know why she felt the need to participate in the gawking and uncomfortable stares at my boyfriend and I, but it was rude. Very rude. I'm stopping the review here as nothing else is worth mentioning when a server is so blatantly disrespectful. My lunch came with a side of cigarette smoke from the bar. Yes, that's right. In 2016, you can still smoke indoors in a restaurant/bar in the U.S. The lunch buffet is stationed within feet of the bar area, so every patron had the opportunity to get a nice puff of smoke wafting across the buffet line. The food was average, but the atmosphere was a bit cloudy (to say the least). DIVE BAR in Grapevine. Very biker-esque. Nothing stood out to me, per usual with a dive bar being limited beer and drink selection. Fun band playing when we went on a Sunday night. Pool table upstairs that we were luck to snag. Not too much seating within the bar but definitely some available. I give this place a 3-star because I wasn't there long enough to find out more about this place. t was at the Grapevine Fest last night going through 6 different wines for tasting, and my friends and I needed a sit-down restaurant to get something to eat. And we randomly choose this place, I expected the typical bar food but didn't expect a $10 all-you-can-eat buffet. The food provided wasn't very extended, only burgers that you put together yourself (only chicken and the beef patties), sausages, fried okra, tator tots, corn, salad, vanilla wafers, ice cream, and cake. For the lunch buffet. The tacos, or rather the taco meat. It was so salty I couldn't eat more than one bite. And no "spicy" flavor at all. Meatloaf was tasty, very good. The rice was crunchy, not cooked long enough. The chicken fajitas were OK, but not much Mexican flavor. The onions were really good. Since I couldn't eat the tacos I went back for the smothered pork chops. Very lean but tough as shoe leather, and dry as powder. The brown gravy had no flavor. The mashed potatoes were very good. The cigarette smoke will knock you out of your shoes the instant you walk in the door. Yes, it's a bar. But it's also a restaurant. And you can't even smoke in a 100% bar most cities anymore, so this is disgusting. I was almost sick by the time I thankfully walked out!! The staff was friendly, but the service was horrible. We had go to the bar and pay the bartender because we couldn't find our waitress anywhere. While a couple guys said their food was fairly good, mine was not. Terrible service from Holly. We felt like we were bothering her by being there. It took her *several* attempts to get our checks correct. The eggs on the brunch buffet were woefully undercooked, runny and raw. How hard is it to cook scrambled eggs? Good grief! Awesome bar. We are here on training and this was an excellent place to come on a Thursday evening after a long day. There was a band playing solid tunes (Tom Petty, Floyd, Stones, ect.). The food was great as well, bar food as expected. Fried pickles were PRIME. Spicy, but not too much. The wings were top notch as well. Coming from Buffalo I wasn't sure what to expect. Baked wings are now in my mind forever. The drink prices are standard, nothing too crazy. Good specials. We will be going back again! read more

Riding through Grapevine on a Sunday afternoon so we decided to stop. We both ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and it was soooooo much food. And did I mention that it come with the salad buffet! Sat outside (not full patio on St Pattys day) and no waitress. Went inside and stood behind the bar for 15 minutes. Bartender never looked at me and was not busy. Returned outside (hoping waitress had taken order from my wife)... but, nothing. Not a single worker asked about taking an order. Went back inside to the bar and still the bartender didn't acknowledge I existed. Returned to the table and a waitress showed up (30 minutes after our arrival). Asked for a beer, a sweet tea, small salad and a burger. 20 minutes later when the beer and sweet tea hadn't arrived we had enough. Wait staff doesn't care about proper service. I'll never go back. This particular bar; my partner and I personally felt discriminated when we got our drinks. We were okay on the customer service when we first came in however when a guy bartender took care of us(Chris); he gave the most rudest customers service. I asked for a drink (pineapple tequila) i was asked to moved from the bar because of the " waitress" space at the main side. He didn't not tell the other guys to move to the side when it came to this. I didn't try the food because they closed their kitchen at 10:30; however I still didn't feel like a true customer because of the true nature of this bar. I ended up here one night for dinner with a big group on our way back to Dallas from a Fort Worth excursion. I nearly gave it a one. The food was worse than mediocre, the service very slow. I realize this place is probably considered more of a bar, but when I asked what foreign bottled beer they had, the waitress had to go to the bar to find out, and came back with ONE option (Heinken). Really? And besides, they have the word "restaurant" in their name, so it's fair game to judge them on food. But .... two of my friends got the burger, which they said was decent. And the restaurant has an old fashioned "salad bar." I ordered chicken fried steak in order to get a trip to the salad bar. Anyone miss those 70's and 80's style salad bars? I don't think I do, but it was fun to go through one after all those years. Iceberg lettuce, packaged carrots, thousand island dressing, fake bacon bits. You get the picture. Today was a day of sleet and freezing temps - every place was closed - luckily Wilhoites was open. We were well taken care of by our server (a young man with a tunnel in his ear). The fried pickles rocked, the banana pudding with Nilla wafers was the best I have ever had and the Sweet Tea was perfect. I love coming to this place for drinks (and people watching) with friends. The location is a good central point to meet up with persons in different counties. Parking is sometimes difficult depending on times of the year as Grapvine has many community events that draw in visitors from all over north Texas. Getting a table can be also hard since this place is severely packed on the weekends. Once you do though, totally worth the time spent waiting. Its easier to order from the bar than the waitress since it's so packed but if you do order from the server, order two at a time. It may take a while for her to get back around. I never had bad service - only slow. When out of town visitors come into DFW, this is one of places we take them. There is always good music, good drinks, and excellent people watching. Not to mention all the cool motorcycles parked out front. I recommend this place for all bar age groups that just want a place to chill and have a few drinks. read more

This is a fun (not so little) bar that I like to go to from time to time when in Grapevine. It has a real old world feel to it, from the gas pump of a bygone age out front to the old motor car inside, and the old world knickknacks hanging around the place. There's several seating options, of course at the bar, or tables, and they also have a street side patio so you can people watch if that's your thing. It's a very relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy a quiet drink, or a live band, or karaoke if that's your kind of thing, depending when you drop by. I've not eaten here yet, but I plan to do so next time I'm in Grapevine.$2 Shiner was nice too! Overall, great people watching location, old world feel, cheap beer, can't really find a fault with this place, but I'll leave the 5 stars until I've eaten there. read more
