The lady at the front was kind, took my order quickly and made good conversation. There was open seating but the tables weren't clean and seemed like they hadn't been wiped down in a while. Same with the white benches, my partner and I both ended up sitting on the chairs instead because the paint on the benches is worn and leaves a "dirt mark" look. The food was great! The buns were perfectly toasted, burger was flavorful and not overdone, and the thousand island sauce was a great add. Fries are on the thinner side which makes them perfectly crispy. There's a station for condiments and it looked like they even had a shaker with fry seasoning (we didn't try it though). The strawberry shake was creamy and super thick. Disappointing! I was looking forward to Willie's but it fell flat. Being in Old Sac, you'd figure this place would have some personality and "fun". Instead it just seems weary and beat up. Maybe I should have tried a burger but had one yesterday so I went with chili cheese fries. Service was fine and prompt. $7 and some change...let's see! Looked okay until you dive in....SUPER greasy! It broke down. Stifling hot inside the eatery on an Autumn 89 degree day. Despite the lack of AC, I still ordered. Willie's Burgers is a place you should try out. Definitely didn't have high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. Originally was supposed go dine in, but ended up door dashing and the food was still good! You get what you pay for, but the food reminded me of home comfort food. We ordered the zoo fries and chili dog with cheese. They give you a good portion on the fries and don't skip out of the cheese. We added bacon and they are some long strips! We came to Old Sac for the Theater of Lights and found a prime spot to view the show from in front of Willie's. We decided to order some drinks and food while we were there too obviously. We went with the Hammer 4, Garlic Fries and the Kids Chicken Strips. To be honest, I was only a fan of the chicken strips, the fries were heavy on the raw garlic so it was spicy, but not in a good way and the burger was mediocre at best. The bun was hard and my favorite part was actually the American cheese. Overall, I was disappointed and I wasn't a fan of them selling everything separately so there were no meals, you had to order the fries separately for an additional charge plus whatever drink you wanted. The same went for the kids meals - fries or a drink were not included. Staff wasn't all that friendly either. I don't think we'll be back. read more

We drove up here just to walk around since the weather was so beautiful. We walked all of old town amd decided Willie's menu looked the most appealing for casual dining. We ordered the double burger with double cheese (#4) with chili cheese fries and onion rings. The inside is pretty basic and rustic looking but had plenty of seating. The onion rings tasted sweet and like the carnival! The chili fries and burger were just as delicious for their categories. Everything was delicious but we could only finish half of anything. Despite having food left, we were curious and glutinous so decided to try the garlic fries and beignets...not disappointed total was around $60 which seemed fair for the quality and the great staff. On a walk in Old Sac we needed a snack. Stopped into a fun and busy hamburger place. They had many burger options along with other items. The cashier was helpful when I asked if I should try the cheese no meat (grilled cheese) or the zoo fries. He quickly said zoo fries. The fries were good similar to in n out animal fries. Want a burger? Near this location? Yeah make a stop. If you're looking for a memorable experience to tell others about, this is very average in a lot of ways. Willie's in my mind is a less busy In-N-out. They had a simple menu, burgers, hotdogs, fries and onion rings. The typical burger joint staples. Inside isn't anything special. It was a little warm and stuffy, they had some fans the move air. The workers were mostly friendly and knowledgeable. It wasn't as fast as I expected, but I had my food within about 10 minutes. I thought the food was fine! A decent burger, good fries. Did it get the job done, absolutely. Did it leave me feeling like this is a stop I need to make the next time I'm in Sacramento, not really. This particular Willies just doesn't look and taste the same as the Willies on Broadway. The patties are super thin and just flavorless. Our burgers were dripping with grease and hardly any thousand island. The produce was fresh and made the burger look super thick but then you see the size of the patty and it's just not worth the price. My slice of onion was thicker than my burger patty. The fries are hit or miss, we do enjoy their garlic fries because they are loaded with garlic. They definitely don't skimp on the garlic. Inside is kind of dirty too. Tables were sticky and the bench seating was equally as sticky. The ice machine wasn't working and they hadn't replenished the to go containers for ketchup. We will continue to order from the other Willies establishments but probably pass on this particular location. read more

I've heard Willie's has the best fries, and I can confirm they are super yummy. The lady at the cash register was very kind and patient, especially when I asked questions about the different menu items. She was very honest and patient when my friends and i tried all the beer flavors. I really like how they leave the jalepenos and chilies out for you to take. Ranch is .50c extra though. I was very bummed to see that they didn't have beignets for the month of October, but I guess that means I need to come back again.
