This not just a salon and boutique, it's an AWESOME salon and boutique. I have never had such a stellar experience getting my hair cut. If you're looking for a great cut and style, go to Lilly! I visited her for the first time a few days ago and she was great; extremely friendly and sweet while remaining professional. I've had friends recommend her for color as well. The other hairdressers that I talked to were also kind. Everyone seemed like a happy family. The salon is actually comprised of areas and rooms that each hairdresser rents. But between the salon and the boutique, the entire space is beautiful. The boutique is small and resides on the main level with some of the salon and spa space that also continues upstairs. Another plus is that they have their own private lot that's reserved for customers only. Parking in Asheville can be a pain and this made my experience a lot less stressful. I'll definitely be coming here again and I highly recommend it to everyone. read more

man I wasted my time and money here. Was in town for a wedding. Decided last minute to get a blowout for it. It was a late night decision, so I went with this place due to their easy online booking. I completely regret it. My blowout was a huge disappointment. The method Drew used was a bit unorthodox, but I thought maybe he was doing something cooler than my hairstylist back home. I was wrong. I wanted volume and waves. Very little volume. No waves. The overall shape was pointy at the top and lopsided. It basically made me look like a weird cone head. I would have stayed to get it fixed, but I didn't have time. It would have made me late to the wedding. My fiancé was shocked when he saw me. He recommended that I wash it out. Yeah. It was that bad. I ended up putting it up into a ponytail, because I was crunched for time. I give this place 2 stars though, because the appointment was prompt and on time. The salon environment was nice. I had an appointment with Brittany for a cut and color. Having naturally curly hair, I booked a consultation in order to ensure that she could work with my hair type. After receiving confirmation that she does work with curly hair, I showed her pictures of what I wanted (Auburn red hair) and was told that was more than possible on my virgin hair. I left my appointment with splotchy blonde highlights, over $250 down the drain and advice to BUY a red toner if I wanted the red color I originally asked for. After asking for my money back or for another appointment to fix the color on my hair, I was told I was being aggressive and that the hair color I received was beautiful and "beachy." I would highly recommend that anyone with curly hair, no matter the texture, find another salon for the services you require. read more

This is NOT a DEVA CURL salon, so if you're looking for a stylist that has been trained and cuts with Deva curl skills, this is not it. They are very nice and my stylist was also very nice, but she does not know how to properly cut a curly hair person. They offered a dry hair cut that claims to be designed for curly hair, but it is not good. I ended up with the triangle look problem with my hair. I didn't want to leave a bad review, but I wish that other people had been more forthcoming with their reviews. Sorry, but Deva Curl cuts are an exact science and skill that not everyone can master well. read more

I usually get my haircut in Atlanta and didn't have the time to get down there so I asked a friend and she recommended Willow's Dream. I'm a stylist and wish I could cut my own hair but alas I can't. I haven't had much luck with haircuts here. I read the stylists bios and since I have short hair decided to go with Drew. All i needed was to take some weight off on side of my hair. (I have a asymmetrical cut)I was to get an appointment with him on short notice and was grateful. I got there a couple minutes before my scheduled appointment and proceeded to wait over 15 minutes while he was taking his time finishing the other person's cut. I finally gave up on waiting and left. I value time. I believe if expect clients to be punctual to not cause you delay then you should also be punctual and not make you wait an excessive amount of time. I'm also a stylist so I know how this goes. As far as the location and space of the salon its very cute. Downtown with parking is a plus and the waiting area/shop is super cute. read more

AMAZING hair and AMAZING customer service! I live in Atlanta, but was scheduled to take engagement pictures in Asheville last Monday (11/20). I made hair appointments for my fiancé and I online, and they were immediately confirmed. As we were getting ready to leave our AirBnb, I got a call from the receptionist at Willow's Dream (I unfortunately do not remember her name, but she was working that morning) telling me that my hair stylist had a fever and couldn't work that day. I was ready to walk out of the door with unwashed hair in a bun (for my engagement pictures!) and on a super tight time crunch to meet our photographer, so, naturally, I freaked out. All I could manage to get out was, "I'm taking engagement pictures today. I don't know what to do..." I'm sure the receptionist heard the utter devastation in my voice, because she immediately said that she would figure something out. In just a few minutes, I got a call back from her saying that Brittany, another stylist, would be coming in early to take care of me. I was so thankful! To the receptionist working at Willow's Dream around 9:30 that Monday morning - you are a SAINT! Brittany was amazing and made my hair do things I never knew it could! I found Willow's Dream and Deanna from a friend's recommendation. I have had such a good experience, now on my 3rd round of cut and color! Deanna is amazing with color, and gratefully, has had a natural sense about what to do to with my hair. I came in with a challenging color situation as a result of henna (reddish) coloring that I have been trying to grow out, and she created a high and low light scheme (without bleach!) that made it all look unified and actually fantastic! I have been very impressed. She is laid back, enjoyable to talk to, uses Phyto natural products and has also taught me a few styling tricks for my hair. I also really enjoy the ambiance of the salon with the bright airy space and the mixture of antique furniture and art. I told him i wanted my hair to my shoulder just touching it he chopped off my hair in the back and made my hair slanted let alone that was just terrible i feel that didnt pay attention to what i needed or wanted. Shelby, at Willow's Dream, has been my beautician since we moved to Asheville about a year and a half ago. I think she does a great job on my hair, and she's fun to talk to, too! She highlights my hair and cuts it, takes time to get it cut to her (and my) satisfaction. She knows what she's doing and enjoys her job. I recommended her to my daughter-in-law and she likes her, too. Being new to town, you have to spend a little time finding beauticians, doctors, etc., and I'm so glad I found a good stylist right off the bat. Willow's Dream is beside the Masonic Temple and has the bright flower paintings all over the exterior. There is a darling gift shop downstairs, and the beauty salon is in the back and upstairs. If you get a haircut you get a discount at the shop. Also, the gift shop gives you a parking pass and they have a small parking lot on the side making it easy to park instead of having to circle the block or walk a few blocks. read more

She was so kind, personable, and talented. I wouldn't recommend this salon. The girl that did my hair didn't do anything I asked. She wasn't interested in listening to my ideas for my own hair. She thought her own ideas would look better. I almost got up and walked out. She also posted on the site that she charged 90 dollars when it turned into a whopping 160 for 10 foils. I specifically asked for no bleach but she repeatedly said it wasn't possible to do without bleach. Which in fact it is. I've been getting my hair dyed on and off for over 20 years. I may not know all the lingo but I know when something I've done to my hair in the past is possible or not. Great lil gift shop but not a good salon. Great place to go if you want to shop for necklaces and bird houses but would not go back for hair styling. Well-intentioned place with nice people that work there but not a great salon experience for me and my friend. My friend just wanted her hair straightened with a round brush but they didn't know how and wanted to use a travel-sized flat iron. At least they were upfront that round brushing was a weakness for them and she cancelled the appt but this was still harsh since we had a wedding to go to that day. As for me, I wanted something pretty simple but it got complex quickly and then I was charged way more (3x) than I thought I would be. Live and learn! read more

I absolutely love this salon! Not only is their whole atmosphere super adorable and welcoming, but the hair stylists are the best in Asheville in my honest opinion. Erica K does my hair (cut, color, keratin treatment) and I leave so happy every time. My whole life I've been very picky about getting my hair styled since I would keep my hair long and very dark. I was a creature of habit. When I decided to switch it up, Erica was amazing at listening to what I wanted and using her expertise and judgement to execute it. Her main objective is also to keep the hair healthy, which is so important. She truly has a great talent for listening to customers and styling hair beautifully. My hair is naturally very dark, frizzy and curly. I loooove this balayage and the keratin treatment makes my hair so much more manageable and lovely. Everyone at Willow's Dream was very kind and helpful and Laurie did an awesome job cutting my hair, I rarely treat myself to a hair cut so she had to fix the uneven bangs that I had cut myself :) She texturized my thick hair to get rid of some of the weight for a lighter summer cut and she did a great job getting my unruly cowlicks to behave without even adding gel or hairspray.
