I asked hubby to pick up burritos after our sons baseball practice tonight and even though they arrived 30 minutes before closing time, several items were already put away and not available. All of the 3 burritos we got were cold and missing all the flavorful things we like on a burrito including guacamole and sour cream. A couple of weeks ago when we last tried to get burritos here, they had no black beans. I really used to love this place, always saying how much better it was than Moes. I have chowed down at various Willy's around A-town...what is cool about this one is that it has a screen porch at the front. Willys is by far and away the best burrito in atlanta. My burrito ranking... Willys, then Chipotle,then Moes, and qdoba is terrible. Willys has the best guac and pico which make it for me. The tofu is great here as well. This location in particularly is great, the staff is super friendly and helpful. It is also very fresh and its cheap, a good deal all around. read more

I have to say, Willy's definitely edges out Chipoltle and Moes in the burrito making business in Atlanta. I am a big guac fan and Willy's guacamole is always fresh and their recipe is killer. They have delicious steak however their spicy chicken could use a bit more kick; it is very mild for a supposed spicy dish. Willy's has great salsa and the staff are always happy to give me an extra scoop or two of chips. Perfect place to go if you're in a rush or looking for an inexpensive, yet delicious meal. read more

For a delicious soft taco on a budget, I always go here. The soft taco's seem larger to me than the hard tacos. Willy's will always be my favorite. At first blush, maybe this giant burrito place seems just like other places that serve giant burritos. However, I find that Willy's is an order of magnitude better in terms of ingredient quality and freshness. In particular, the chipotle salsa hits just the right spicy, sweet and smoky notes. I wish they were as omnipresent as your Chipotles and Qdobas; I think I would eat giant burritos more often. read more

If you're coming around dinner time when college is in session, be prepared for a long line of Emory students. Luckily, the line is here for a reason - Willy's burritos are the tastiest and freshest around. (Also, huge and inexpensive.) There are only about 15 tables inside, plus a few more on the patio. Also, even though I'm a carnivore, I've found it useful from time to time to know that this is one of the few real vegan options near the Emory campus. Get the tofu burrito without cheese, and you're good to go. The tofu's pretty tasty, actually, although I usually prefer to go for black beans with beef, pork and pinto beans, or chicken with green mole. read more

Doesn't feel safe to eat there, it is so dirty. We're done. Won't be back until it has shut down, remodeled, and been CLEANED. We were regulars at this place. Willy's is our favorite Atlanta restaurant so we go to the others around town. This is clearly the filthiest one. The point here is obviously a process is breaking down that is working elsewhere. We typically eat earlier than most folks. We do this to avoid crowds, and hopefully get fresh prepared food and clean tables. We come in here at supper time and it's a dirty shambles. I've worked in restaurants, I don't get it, what in the hell have you been doing since lunch? Certainly not cleaning and preparing food. Guard your health and just go to the one at Briarcliff/North Druid or the new one at Lavista/Northlake. This is by far my favorite place to eat at, I go at least twice a week for the chicken fritos burrito, the staff is very pleasant and always helpful. the store is very clean at all the times, I have yet to have a problem there!, they always welcome me when I enter in as well which is always nice to hear, and in my opinion they have very fresh salsa and it is always great, I recommend the chili d sauce with the burrito. I am a HUGE fan of Willy's, except for this one. It is dark, gloomy and dirty. Each time I go to this location, it is in the evening. There is a light skinned black female manager with dreads/twists in there with the worst attitude. She is a real sourpuss. I think that's why the rest of the staff look so unhappy. She watches them prepare the food and comments on the portions. She charges extra if you want a little more of something. The kitchen floor in the back was full of water and everything was dirty. The tables and the drink stand were dirty and the salsa bar needed to be refilled. I said that I would never revisit this location and if I do, I plan to give that manager a tongue lashing she won't forget. I just don't do well with nasty, miserable people and poor customer service. Especially when I'm spending my money. read more

Out of all of the burrito chains in town, Willy's is my second favorite, second to Chipotle. The menu is about what you'd expect: burritos, tacos, salads, nachos, and quesadillas. I tend to go for the salad, except on the first Tuesday of each month, when Emory students with ID can get a burrito for only five bucks. I also tend to go for the tofu, which is pretty damn good here, with great texture and great flavor. The spicy chicken and the steak are good, too, but I'm generally a bigger fan of the meats at Chipotle. Tortilla chips are free, and there's a salsa bar to round out your meal. (Out of the three salsas available, I prefer the habanero hot salsa. Its somewhat smoky flavor is decent, though it's not exactly spicy.) One thing I've found odd about this place is the haphazard way they do upcharges for certain ingredients. I always get the grilled peppers and onions, which (apparently) cost a extra dollar, but I've never been charged extra. On the other hand, last week, I was unexpectedly hit with a fifty-cent charge for corn salsa, which I always get and for which I've never been charged. Parking can be a bit of a pain during the lunch hour, though I've never not been able to find a spot. Just realize that it's a small parking lot in which people double park (sort of; you'll see what I'm talking about if you go) when the spots start to fill up. This Willy's location is pretty cozy, with a screened-in patio area (unfortunately, the North Decatur and Clairmont intersection is pretty noisy) and a long row of booths following the narrow interior all the way toward the back. But it's also cramped; sometimes, it's a little annoying when people are reaching around each other to get to the silverware, the salsa bar, and the drink fountain. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time over the Christmas holiday. The restaurant was clean and the staff greeted us and they were patient. I had a quesadilla with Sinaloa chicken. I also had two steak tacos. I loved how fresh (the meat, ingredients, and sides) were. Really enjoyed the cheese dip and the chips were yummy! Also had a chance to try some salsa, really good! I will say that the guys building the burritos are super friendly and gave suggestions to help me through my first time. I want to rate it higher but it needs a serious cleaning. We've been going to this Willy's regularly for a long time. Consistently friendly staff over that time. Food is good, for Willy's. We've often almost sat down in a booth and found it just filthy. This is a pretty common occurrence. We typically move to the next clean one. But good grief, get the cleaning process down. You think of the cleanliness thing perhaps a little less as kids get older, but when they're small, the dirtiness here is enough to get on your nerves. read more

This has been my main Willy's ever since I was a kid, eating child size burritos. Now I am eating adult burritos and this is my favorite place to get them. I would say the atmosphere at this Willys is the most chill of any in Atlanta and it's so relaxing going there. The customer service is great, the owner is friendly, and most importantly the food is good. If you're not from Atlanta I will mention that it is unanimously agreed on that Willy's is the best tex mex chain hands down!
