$1 FRIED CHICKEN July 30 & 31 The real heatwave is definitely the $1 fried chicken event happening tomorrow, July 30 and July 31. To celebrate their 4th anniversary, for 2 days only, you can get pretty awesome deals, the details are below: * $1 fried chicken drumsticks (MAX 3) * Add-on 1: $7 meal deal (2PC + choice of side: macaroni or fries) * Add-on 2: $1 can of pop Each batch is freshly made to order, so you get that crunchy flavoursome exterior with a nuisance of black pepper on the nose, plus plump and juicy chicken meat on the inside. Everything is well seasoned, making them super tasty and mouth watering. So don't miss this chance!

We heard this little fried chicken store usually has huge line ups so we were lucky (or unlucky) that it was pouring rain and we were the only ones there ordering food. This Win Win is located near the Wharf in south Richmond which gives you a nice stroll around on a good day, forgiving the fact that this location is take out only. Their chicken is hand breaded, seasoned and fried to a golden crisp. The chicken's seasoning is amazing, they're crispy and extremely juicy. Probably one of the better fried chicken outlets in Richmond. I'd definitely come back when I'm in town and order a bucket to myself!

I love fried chicken and am always tempted to grab a box of chicken when in Steveston. There is a small counter table with a few bar stools for eating in though most will just buy to go and eat along the harbor or boardwalk area by Fraser River. It is Filipino fried chicken with asian spices or seasoning. The pieces are on the smaller side when compared to church's but I'm good with it. I order this when I'm missing the taste of asian style fried chicken. I do not really like any of the sides - mashed potatoes, fries or Filipino macaroni. Just get the chicken. I can eat it on its own without any ketchup or sauces. It is not overly salty either. On my last visit, we ordered the wings to share. Those were alright. I will suggest to just stick to the fried chicken. Dark meat all the way -- much more tender and juicier. The skin was not coated with a thick batter so the seasoning spice was just on the lightly floured skin. My friend who's on the keto diet said it did not mess with his ketosis. Oh it is definitely better to eat immediately as it is not as nice after a few hours, even after reheated in the oven.

We were at Garry Point one sunny afternoon whilst trying to maintain social distancing with everyone else. Hubby and I were both hungry and found Win Win on Yelp. I've heard about this in passing but never had the chance to try it before (even if we often go to Steveston). I've been missing Filipino food a lot lately so this was something that definitely satisfied my cravings. We ordered 5pc chicken, Filipino macaroni, mashed potato, gravy and ube leche flan for the two of us. Pricing was pretty affordable compared to other chicken places but portions are a bit on the smaller size. In terms of seasoning, it was spot on. Their fried chicken is so reminiscent of Filipino fried chicken plus the mashed potato and gravy on the side reminds me of KFC Philippines' mashed potato and gravy -- throwback to my younger days in Manila. Hubby enjoyed the macaroni salad -- it was Pinoy spaghetti sauce on macaroni pasta. He also loved the ube leche flan cake -- two of his favorites combined into one dessert. As I'm writing this, I suddenly want to eat Win Win Fried Chicken again! Glad they have another branch in Vancouver.

Tasty Filipino style fried chicken in Steveston. Parking is plentiful on the streets in the evenings. The building itself is quite dumpy. Definitely not the most photogenic. But who cares. Staff were friendly. The fried chicken here is nice and crisp and not too greasy. Actually reminds me of Southern style (American) chicken, strangely enough. I had the mashed potato side, which tasted decent. Too bad they charge extra for gravy. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

Win Win Chicken Dinner... saw a promo of $1 chicken, gave them a call... it was $1 per drumstick. Called to place an order of 25 pieces of drumsticks. It was the most torturous drive home, that smell of chicken was heavenly! We had the drumsticks, very very well marinated, the marination went right inside the chicken. The coating was very light, some may find it oily, just dab the chicken with paper towel. It was fine for me... didn't want to remove the taste... all in all.. it was indeed win win!

Found myself in a food coma. Don't judge me. Right after Mama's Dumplings and two baskets of XLB's with pan fried pork buns on Horseshoe Way behind the Coppersmith Mall, I come here to Steveston for another hit. Yeah, so I travelled across the continent of Richmond for the Pan Asian experience. Northern Chinese to Filipino. It was quite the experience. I had to try it. The seasoning is very different than other fried chicken I've tried. I can't think of anything comparable. The Filipino macaroni was too sweet for me. Don't judge me. I don't think I'd order this again. I'll stick with the potato salad next time. The cake was quite good. If you're adventurous, do the opposite of what I did. Go for a full order of Northern Chinese food at Mama's Dumpling after the chicken feast here. Your bloated belly will thank me later.

Yoooooooo this chicken was finger licking delicious. Just like the name, this spot is a win win. Partner and I visited Canada over the Christmas weekend, super stoked they were open on Christmas Day. Location is in a great area near the pier with lots of other great shops around.

Well, all the reviews here already rave about the quality of the chicken, so I don't have to write much more about that. I really enjoy the smiley faces on the staff. They were all so friendly. The wait is long sometimes for you know what they say - "Good food takes time." The chicken comes out piping hot and juicy. Every bite is bursting with flavour from that secret spice. Try their dessert too! Very tasty cakes they have. Location is just off the main beat of Steveston, but on a weekend day, parking may still be a challenge.

I had 2 pieces of chicken/ French fries/ one drink combo. After tax $8ish It has good volume and I liked their seasoning. Looked salty but not. Normally I have heartburn after eating deep fried dishes. However not at all this time. Still have room for dessert. I had waited for a while but I'm glad they gave me freshly cooked chicken. The Ube cake has 2 types. Rectangular one is $5 and round one with coconut is $6. Very moist and not so sweet..I think only base infused syrup and sweet.

I can't believe myself when I am giving 1 start to a Fried Chicken Joint!! I love Fried Chicken, I mean all styles of fried chicken...Kentucky, Churches, Korean, Hong Kong and Japanese... When I heard about Win Win and the hype of its opening and all the great reviews I told myself, YAY!! After going there a couple of times and found out they are already closed for the day (maybe they sold out that day and closed early). I thought, wow, great they must be doing really well, and make me not want to give up even more! Finally, came here on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 or so, there was no line-ups or anyone in the store, so I quickly parked my car and dashed inside! The warming tray has a few pieces of chicken and that's it! The Cake shelf is also empty! Hum, maybe they had a busy day, anyways, I proceed to order my long awaited chicken, I ordered the Five Piece Combo, which I found out only comes with a side with no drinks included, since they do not have Coleslaw, and I am not crazy about mashed potatoes, ( forewarned by a fellow Yelper as they are of the instant type ). I opted for the Fries. After the fries are ready, the server then picked my chicken from the tray. As I am so excited about trying the chicken, I started to eat the chicken in my car, and when I opened the box, I was disappointed to see that a layer of grease has already accumulated at the bottom of the box! The paper bag that holds the fries also become totally saturated with grease!! Oh well, who am I kidding, I just ordered things that came out of a deep fryer, its natural to have grease all over, right! My first bite was totally grease and a hint of garlic from the chicken, the meat has no juice and is very "dry" (but still greasy at the same time), its hard to describe, the only way I think this can happen is that the grease that they used was not fresh and also the few pieces of chicken has been under the heat lamp for a while. (some fried chicken joints actually throw away the ones that has been under the lamp after a certain time limit) I am totally disappointed, I find the $13 I paid for the 5 pieces of chicken to be not worth the money and the fact that this is supposed to be the single item that they are famous for is absolutely fascinating! I hope this is an off night for them, I wish them all the best and hoping they will change the grease more often!!

Best fried chicken in Greater Vancouver so far!! I knew this new restaurant would open, so I just went and tried these fried chicken. I had a high expectation about their fried chicken. They did not disappoint me!! It was SO GOOD that they beat KFC and Church Chicken for sure!! The restaurant has chosen better chicken as I can see, taste and feel the bones and meat that are WAY better than the KFC and Church Chicken. The chicken that KFC and Church Chicken has a very soft texture of the meat and the bones are thinner. However, the chicken from Win Win Chick-N is similar to free range chicken and the bones are must stronger. Win win Chick-N has their special seasoning. They deep fry the chicken, so the skin is crispy but the meat is tender and it is very juice. It is the BEST to eat it when it first comes out from the kitchen. We ordered takeout but we tried two pieces right after they were out from the kitchen. And then ate the rest at home. They were still good to eat when we got home but it was definitely better to eat them fresh!! These fried chicken must be compared apple to apple (against KFC, Church Chicken, L.A. Chicken), but they cannot compared with the chicken Karaage because chicken Karaage has bones and they are small pieces like nuggets. The fried chicken here is a bit pricy, but it is worth the money that you should at least try it once. There is street parking in Steveston Village. Just park on the street and walk to the restaurant. There is not really tables for customers to buy and eat in. Usually people buy take out. We bought the take out and ate the chicken on a bench near the sea shore. Today is sunny! Great weather and great food!! The best is to eat these fried chicken with beer!! Oh yeah!!!

Three piece combo with Filipino macaroni

In general I am not a big fan for deep fried food. However, my husband is. Therefore whenever I find something that's deep fried related, he'll be the first to know. This place is newly opened in the heart of Steveston, right next to a couple of big parking lots. However, parking is always tight in Steveston anyway, I would recommend to visit on a week day. This place is mainly for takeout, very tight space with just a counter and a hot display stove. On the right hand side, there's also a cake display box, which I did not get to explore. We each ordered a three pieces with sides combo. It was around $8.99 each which is pretty much the same as church's combo. However, the batter tastes a lot better and less greasy, which is a great after eat feeling! The also use local chicken which is a much better choice. The chickens are freshly made and the skin is very crunchy. They have mash potato, Filipino macaroni, and French fries available for sides. I ordered the Filipino macaroni because I've never had it before. My husband was still hungry after the three piece combo, so if you are really hungry, you might as well to order a four piece, or better yet, they have 8-10-20 pieces available just for the chicken. I will definitely go back to this place as it's such little jam.

The interior is definitely American themed. Even though the building is close to the water, the windows face towards the street. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Staff are friendly but stretched out. The place was pretty busy, with people in the waiting area. Food prices have obviously gone up, but the quality is solid. The meat is well cooked but not burnt, and the portion size is pretty decent. Big Johnson plate - St. Louis ribs, brisket, dino bone (aka cow rib), pulled pork. Brisket was a bit dry. Pulled pork and ribs were quite good. Dino bone was honestly a bit disappointing, as there wasn't too much meat, and it's more like a small portion of 1 rib. Spanish rice pliaf - decent but could use more ingredients. I think it was only rice with some diced onions and carrots. Mac & cheese - pretty tasty. Burnt ends - brisket ends. They are definitely slightly burnt, but not inedible. These sell out early for some reason. Guess they're popular. On a side note, this place also has a pretty decent whiskey selection, with taster flights available. Decent choice if one is in the area. Recommended.

For a group of four, we settled for quite a few items as we wanted variety. My friends also ordered the Hog Shack Caesar which is a Bourbon twist on a regular caesar. Apart from some standard cocktails, they also had additional happy hour beer/wine specials. For regular menu, we settled on the Jurassic platter to get a good variety as well as the brisket plate. Within the platter, the dino bones and the chicken leg stood out the most. The dino beef bones had good flavour and texture. To my surprise, the chicken was super moist and aromatic. The pork ribs and pulled pork were okay in our opinion. As for the sides, I always love corn bread so that didn't miss, but the other sides didn't impress me - I was especially hoping for yummy cole slaw but it was a bit bland. They had a feature side which was a fennel sausage pasta salad, but it came out piping hot which confused us. Unfortunately, the beef brisket plate was dry (as mentioned in the other reviews). I also picked the spring roll special which was a pleasant surprise as they were delicious! They came out piping hot and the filling was flavourful and not too salty. Unfortunately I did not snap a picture of the actual happy hour menu items (oops), but we ordered the brussel sprouts and pulled pork alfredo pasta. The portion size was excellent and I especially like the pasta and found the combination of pork and penne delicious. Needless to say, this was far too much food for 4 people and we left with an extra 2 people's worth of food. Hog shack is great to satisfy your cravings if you're in the area, but real Southern food lovers would likely find it hard to eat the bbq here. However, I still enjoyed the meal and service overall and immediately went home after to enter food coma. :-)

For beverages I got a regular coffee and wifey got a lavender latte. The plating was absolutely beautiful for the dishes. My first bite of the waffles and chicken was delightful. The chicken was moist and seasoned well and the waffle was nice and soft. There also was a salad on top which was dressed in a sweet dressing. That was standard as greens go. The clam chowder had a decent amount of large clams in it, the texture and creaminess was good. I did feel the base or soup stock used was a tad light for my liking as I wasn't catching the essence of clam chowder flavor. Other wise it was ok. But filling it you intend to eat the whole bun which I did cuz I love sourdough bread. Wife's french toast was lovely, I had a small taste and to me it was good.
