Just finished Sunday Brunch at the Wine Dive. The Cajun Eggs Benedict was so tough that my knife wasn't able to cut through the bread and when I managed to tear some off was so stale I could barely chew it. Also the fried oysters were flavorless and may have gone bad. Won't be back. read more

This little gem is the real deal! Wonderful wine and beautiful plates of perfectly done food. The bruschetta with housemade pesto, baby tomatoes and balsamic reduction was the perfect compliment to our bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The Cuban Sandwich was a wonderful mix of savory pork, ham and tart pickles and served with a side of hot and homemade onion rings. I can honestly say this was potentially the best lunch I've had in Wichita in a very long time. The service was immaculate, the server amazingly knowledgeable and wonderful to engage with. We had a fantastic time and look forward to makeing this one of our regular spots. If you haven't been, go! I can't recommend this restaurant enough. read more

I went to Mike's for an early supper with some friends from out of town and they were definitely impressed. We enjoyed the Hummus appetizer which comes with traditional and red-pepper hummus, which were both delicious. One of my friends then tried the Wild Boar Ragu, which he raved about it having just the right amount of spice. Myself, I had the Steak Frites cooked to a perfect medium and will definitely come back. I was also pleased by the expansiveness of the liquor menu. I am more a whiskey drinker than a wino, and I was happy to see multiple solid selections for both bourbon, scotch,and Irish Whiskeys. read more

Great atmosphere, cool little place, delicious french fries with various dipping sauces! I've been there with just adults, and with my 2 teen kids, and will go back again. Even if it is a little too pricey. The server could have been a little more attentive and a little more pleasant, but that wasn't a deal breaker. I love all kinds of hummus, but did not like theirs. This place has great food & wonderful staff!! Everyone was super nice & they even opened the patio for us when it wasn't a normal time for it (in February, but it was like 70 degrees outside). The dim ambiance in the restaurant is perfect for a date night or something. I had the orange fennel salad which was recommended by our server. It was a pretty lite salad and tasted pretty good but I was expecting amazing since it was recommended. read more

wow, I'm shocked at the reviews, I'm not even sure 2 of those reviews are real...... I've visted this restaurant 3 times in the 2 short weeks it has been open, twice for dinner, once for lunch. I've had a wonderful expreince in the food and the beverage. The sirloin is about as good as it gets, the fajitas are fair, maybe a little small but taste. The cuban sandwich is awesome for lunch..The oyster app is over-the-top good and I've had the mushroom app which is pretty normal, but nothing wrong with normal. The atmostphere is cool, laid back and fun since its been so busy in this place. I've thought the service was great, I mean its obvious the staff is still learning but nothing has been poor or grossly operated in my opinion. I do agree that it seems a little overstaffed given the space, but I would rather have it that way than understaffed. Prices are on the higher -side, but its that kind of place. I mean go eat somewhere else if your a penny pincher or don't enjoy food that new or favorful. The wine selection is good, better than any place i've been in around Wichita....of course it is a wine bar and prices are going to reflect it...but I think there are some $7 options and some expensive options. Mike's Wine Dive builds itself to be a fantastic wine bar with it's appearance and setup, however it lacks from that point. Our waitress initially asked if we had ever been there before; handed us a menu and basically walked away without explaining much at all. We perused through the menu slowly, trying to figure out what to go with. Our waitress probably came by to ask what we wanted about four times, each time not offering a hint of advice or what may be a popular pick. By the time I started to settle for a wine, I found that they were out of it. Second try, they were out. Third try, they were out. Nice to know..... The wine that I DID settle on, I later googled and found out it was pretty much a $13 bottle of wine that I paid $7 for a glass of. Our appetizer was the Queso Fundido. It was OK, basically a bunch of thick, melted cheese with wedges of bread and some veggies. There was more cheese than bread, when our waitress decided to check on us after what seemed like eternity, she asked if we'd like more bread to finish the cold cheese dip. We said sure, about five minutes later she brought more bread that was literally black and burnt on the bottom. THANKS! Needless to say, we were very disappointed and left after finishing our first drinks and appetizer. We will never return or consider giving this poor excuse of a wine bar a second chance. read more

Our server was very rude and unwelcoming - she took our dish while we were visibly still eating, and immediately delivered our check with no "thank you" or any comment whatsoever. Went there for dinner last night. Don't let a full parking lot scare you away there's lots of room inside. I ordered the sirloin and my date ordered the chipotle island chicken. Both were superb. On a weekend trip to Wichita, I checked out Mike's. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the outside patio. The service was very good. Our waiter was constantly checking on us, but not to the point of bothersome. The bartender was obviously good as what he/she does....my Vodka Gimlet was one of the better I've had in any city. The food was very good. We kept a menu and ordered a number of appetizers over time as we drank, treating the meal more Tapas style. I do suggest both the "Drunken Bread" (great, but rich....just a few bites will do) and the Shrimp and Avocado Salad. I must say, being from the Gulf Coast, I was amazed at the size and freshness of the Shrimp, at a place landlocked in the middle of the country. read more

Bartender was handling cash and credit cards then stuck her unwashed bare hands into a large jar of cherries and scooped them out into a bowl. Soon after she did the same thing with a large jar of olives. Another waitress then poured the contaminated olive juice into a container for martinis. Money and credit cards are covered in germs. Guy in kitchen was handling his cell phone and then started handling food without washing his hands or using gloves. We were disgusted. Best brunch in Wichita! Sunday brunches are open until 3pm, which is great after a late night out. Mimosas are fantastic and food is very high quality! Servers have been been superb, and on warm days, the patio outside is a nice atmosphere. Can't say enough about how much I love this place! read more

The absolute worst service I have EVER had. I am a server myself and I tip very well, needless to say our server did NOT get a tip from us. We had never been there before and were not sure what was what in the menu. And had just come in for a few drinks. Our server was so awkward and would not even hardly make eye contact with us. We asked her what beer they had on tap and she named all of them with some difficulty and what seemed like forever after she stumbled through their beer list (which was maybe 5 or 6) I settled for a blue moon. She then told us they were out of that. So my mom and I both got a martini, my dad got a mixed drink and my boyfriend decided on makers mark on the rocks. After about 20 minutes (I timed it) she finally came back with our drinks and what looked like a dribble of makers mark on ice and she said "We gave you the last of our bottle so it's on the house" Thanks girl! Sure glad we didn't have to pay 8 dollars for that! He ended up getting another kind of whiskey which took another 10 minutes to get. This was a Monday night mind you and around 8 there were about 10 people in the whole place so it should NOT have taken that long. The martinis were awful and tasted like ear wax and after another 30 minutes of us sitting there with empty drinks and our server at the bar drinking a bottle of wine with what looked like the manager I had to go to the bar and ask for our ticket. Needless to say I will never be stepping foot back into that place. One and done is all I need! read more

This is my GO-TO when I'm in Wichita! The food is always amazing, the brunch is inspired and you cannot beat the wine selection. On my last trip to Wichita I found out they stopped carrying my favorite wine, but the server was very knowledgeable about the wines and suggested a different option. He was spot on! The service was exceptional. We made reservations beforehand and when we arrived we were promptly seated. The waitress (Audrey) was very knowledgeable and informative about the menu. My entré (pepper steak) was disappointing. I ordered it medium rare but it was tougher than "road kill" and difficult to eat. The appetizer (stuffed mushrooms) were tasty, but since we informed the waitress that my wife and I were going to share them one might have thought that instead of being served 5 mushrooms we would have been served 6. Although the restaurant was full, the seating was comfortable and we didn't feel crowded by neighboring diners. My wife's "chicken paparadell" was "bland" and under-seasoned and "just O.K.". Overall, our dining experience was underwhelming; but, we will give the Wine Dive a second chance. read more

I live in College Hill and I see that the Wine Dive is always busy, but my experiences I think they are being over rated. The restaurant has a nice clean interior, host are nice. Once seated you are presented with a blue menu and the lights have been lowered with candles to enhance your experience. Only problem was that you could not read the menu, It wasn't that the print was small, it was because they were on blue paper. Everyone at the table had to pull out their phone and turn on the light to read the menu. Our order was taken and we only saw our server when she presented the one appetizer to the table until our meal was served. missed opportunity for drink sales.. The food presentation was good, but I am sorry to say our food all tasted the same, Everything was seasoned with the same seasoning. The best way I can describe the seasoning on the meat/fish/chicken and side dishes was the smell you have on your cloths after you have spent an evening at a bonfire with friends. Once the meal was served our waitress did not come back until she dropped off the dessert menu. Since you can not read the menus, it would have been nice for her to come by with a dessert tray. i may have ordered a dessert, but did not want to yet again pull out my phone to see the menu. There as also a missed opportunity on drink sales. Would have been nice if she would have even freshened our water. I will say that there were 3 employees sitting at a table chatting and 2 hostess chatting at the desk, dont know if there was a manager on duty, never saw one.. No one was milling around to make sure all guest were ok. Two persons opted for desserts, The creme brulee was served and my guest said it was good. The waitress never came back to the table. Now one would think that she would ask if she could get us anything else , maybe an after dinner drink and then return and present our checks. We had to flag her down to come back to the table for our checks. When I received my bill it was 48.00 for the pork chop dinner and a soft drink. Everyone else bills looked weird too. Called her back to the table and she was splitting dinners and putting them on everyone else bill. Basically charged twice for the items. I think that someone walked out on their bill and she was splitting it on our bill. She took back the bill and came back with them corrected. There was a 20% grat charge which I understand, but if you are guaranteed a tip, you should do your best and not make the guest feel like you are doing them a favor by waiting on them. When she finally came back with our processed receipt, the receipt was in FINE print and looked like a bill/tax/grat but I pulled out my phone and enlarge the bill so I could see it and it actually was bill/grat/grat Kind of deceiving! Had I had not used my phone and enlarge the bill I might have tipped twice. In all if you are going to have dinner here, I would advise to go on line and read the menu before going, so you know the pricing (steaks are way over priced for what you get, Texas Roadhouse has far better meat) I would have given them a 1 rating, but because of the atmosphere and how the hostess greeted us and seated us, I gave them a 2, but I wont be back, 3 strikes and your are out!!! read more

Dined with new friends and the food was quite good, but somewhat uneven. The Filet mignon was some of the best I have had, along with the grilled asparagus, but the Au Gratin potatoes, did not need the slab of cheddar on top. The drunken bread appetizer was yummy and vanished quickly. The chocolate tort was OK, but the ice cream was icy. The house Cab was yummy with this dinner combination. read more

I was excited when my girlfriend said that we were gonna try mikes. She had eaten here before and was raving about it. I am not a wine drinker, but the wine list seemed extensive and almost made me want to drink some. the menu was very unimpressive, the starters seemed very simple and we didn't order any. The entree's are limited and the pork chop and steak seemed the best bet. I was excited to see jerk chicken on the menu, and it came with creamy polenta and wax beans which sounded tasty so that is what i ordered. I was so disappointed.... The chicken seasoning was good but the bird was way overcooked (breast meat at that so it was wayyyy dry.) the "creamy polenta" was not creamy at all and had so much cheese in it that it was lumpy, cold and just way overpowering (and i love cheese). The beans were good, but i'm not a vegertarian so that was not very comforting. My girlfriend oredered the philly sandwich (it was pretty good), but if a burger, sandwich, and some lobster mac and chees (not that impressive BTW) is what you have to offer than you cannot call yourselves fine dining. Everything on the menu should at least be acceptable, this was applebees quality at best. read more

Quiet for a Thursday evening but easy to find; decent wine and wait staff wasn't pushy so I was able to get caught up on work and enjoy a nice glass of red before heading back to the hotel. The atmosphere was great and the service was fantastic. I ordered the fotousch salad and it was not tasty. The sweet potatoes are good and the special sauce they bring out with them is delicious. I will definitely go back, I just won't order that salad again. read more

The Wine Dive is the best Restaraunt I've found in Wichita by far! Excellent menu, fair prices, exceptional and very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. My partner and I have dined there 3 times. Each time we've left more pleased than the previous visit and the car ride home is always talking a lot our food :) MUST save room for the flourless chocolate cake. The creme brûlée is also great but nothing touches the flourless chocolate cake. If you fail to save room....eat the awesome ice cream it's served w and take the cake home. Just as good the next day (we presume as it's never lasted that long lol). Reservations are not required but the do fill up and they host a lot of wine flight dinners and other events so I'd recommend calling in a reservation. With that said we've always had a reservation but have always shown up early and were seated right away (also only 2 of us so it's easier to accommodate than a group). But the wine dive is an experience and one not to miss regardless of if you become regulars like us or are just passing through. read more

Decided to change things up and ordered the ahi tuna daily special. Having been here before I thought I knew what to expect, but it was extremely disappointing. It was still cold in the middle and not very flavorful. Also, the sangrias that I used to really liked here seemed to have gotten smaller with more ice, and the cheesecake that I thoroughly enjoyed are again smaller with little whip cream and caramel drizzling on the plate. Maybe I came on an off day? At least the ahi tuna nacho appetizer was nice and refreshing, though I wish they put more ahi tuna pieces. Regardless, I have not returned back since this last time a few months ago. IF I do eat here again, it will only be for the scallops, and maybe the nachos. read more

We had a party of 18 for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate my son's college graduation. We tried several of the appetizers including hummus ,crab crab-stuffed mushrooms and the bruschetta. They were all delicious. Our parties entrees included the fajitas, lobster mac and cheese,Philly cheese steak, the steak sandwich and a few others I can't recall. Not a single person was disappointed with their food which is quite the feat with a party that big. Their lunch prices are extremely reasonable and they give you plenty of food. The service was good considering the poor girl was the only one working and we had her running all over and there was also a table sitting outside she was tending to. Cute trendy atmosphere yet laid back still. There's plenty of parking on the west side which of course we didn't see until later. Will definitely go back again. read more

Menu is extremely boring, the service didn't seem to be interested in more than texting behind the bar and talking to each other as my water was hardly tended to. I was not impressed with the food. If I am going to pay over 20 dollars for dinner, I would like it to taste delicious. I will not return nor ever recommend to anyone. read more

This restaurant is a keeper, and my family, friends and I go there fairly often. The veggie enchilada is wonderful.
