Great little hole-in-the-wall place for some good hot wings! We've been in the search for a wing place other than Wingstop and happy to report that Wingopolis did not disappoint. It's located in the middle of a small shopping center; the parking lot is pretty small but doesn't look like it gets very crowded at once. We placed in our order a bit after 6:30 pm (when they opened) and the owner / cook said it would take roughly 45 mins. We set an alarm and arrived a bit before the 45 mins were up. The owner greeted us and introduced himself as soon as he walked in. He was very friendly and attentive. Then, it was roughly 10 more minutes before we got our orders. I got the Buffalo 10 piece wing combo (with fries and ranch) and my partner got the Lemony Lemon 10 piece wing combo. They were both really well seasoned and yummy! They did not skip on the seasoning either which I really appreciated. The wings weren't crispy but still tasty. Nothing wrong with that, just a preference some people have. You will not spend less than 20-30 minutes there, regardless of if you called ahead or not (a good thing, but more on this later). 2. The owner - Trevor - is the kind of business owner you dream about supporting; a true rags to (hopefully, eventually) riches story. Now, about those wings. Meaty, large, and cooked perfectly. Trevor actually asks you how crispy you want them and watches over the progress until they are juuuuuust like you asked. Same with the fries and onion rings, which he staggers so everything comes out at the same time. He offers FOURTEEN different sauces, which I won't list here, but we tried the Buffalo, "lemony lemon pepper," and teriyaki and they were all delicious. This is a proprietor who really cares about what he's selling you. Now, about Trevor. If you don't want to strike up a friendly conversation, I suggest you go elsewhere. This isn't Wingstop or Pizza Hut; when you enter Wingopolis you are, in essence, entering "Trevor's House of Wings," and you should be prepared to swap stories, talk food, and be very patient as he plies his craft. At first, you'll be taken aback at this decidedly old-school approach to customer service; relax, in this age of cell phones and detachment, it might take you several minutes to acclimate to actual human contact, but it's worth the effort. Also, Trevor was still in the process of building out his space, so forgive the unfinished state of affairs and just enjoy the wings. We're hoping he adds the celery and carrots so often associated with Buffalo wings eventually, but they weren't a deal-breaker by any means. My buddy and I wanted to check out this place so we drove down and found it locked up on one side so we walked around to the other side where it was also locked! A light was on and the yelp app said it was open till 9 PM so I called and immediately the proprietor, Trevor, answered the phone and apologized as he was inside on a call. He opened up and we walked into the store which is still under construction. We were greeted by Trevor who is hands-down, one of the nicest people on the planet! He explained what was going on with the place and his dream to make it successful. After talking with him for a while, we placed our order: lemony lemon pepper wings and honey barbecue wings both with a side of fries. It took Trevor about 20 minutes to cook up our food. We had some things to do so we bounced while he was making it and came back to pick up the order. I consider both my friend and I to be connoisseurs of chicken wings... For whatever it's worth, I frequent the Anchor Inn in Buffalo New York where buffalo wings were supposedly invented! Trevor gave me some insight on the real story which seemed to make a lot of good sense. In any case, Trevor knows what's up! Both orders of wings were really delicious and made with obvious TLC. Both had lots of delicious flavor and were perfectly tangy and cooked through. The french fries were really tasty. Not sure what he does to them, but they had a great flavor even though there was no sign of seasonings on them. As a person who checks-in on yelp everywhere My friends and I decided to support Wingopolis because it said it was a new and trending spot in Inglewood. Upon entry I was baffled at the fact that I couldn't find the menu when I walked-in. The menu is on a business card taped to a counter, it's a new place and I'm a first timer so I didn't think much of it but bring your reading glasses to order. I was so excited about my order I took a picture with the owner and blasted this establishment to a big conference I was attending at the convention center to show support. He also asked that I took photos of him by his sign so I did to post on his yelp. I ordered the volcanic and sriracha wings and the owner Trevor said he would come get us when the order was ready and asked how our car looked. After waiting over an hour for 8 wings and previously frozen fries I decided to ask him about an update on the order. Trevor said, "I was just getting ready to refund you your money because we ran out of wings". And I was stuck for a good minute but my primary response was: Excuse me? You could have communicated that... but apparently Trevor was joking and wanted to see how I would respond. I told him that I did not find the joke funny especially after having to wait over an hour to which he replied that if I don't find his joke funny than I can leave because his establishment is a place of "Peace and Blessings" only. My purpose was to communicate how I would appreciate a time estimate for the wings because it's been over an hour but Trevor proceeds to cut me off and started yelling that two other people before me have been waiting for over an hour too but they are not complaining. So I replied We are two different people the comparison is unacceptable because as a business owner he should be dissatisfied that any of his patronages should wait that long and in no way should he imply that it is the customers responsibility to be worried about his other customers. That's solely his responsibility not mine. He started getting very defensive and stopped cooking and asked that I leave his establishment for voicing the lack of communication and he threatened to call IPD (Inglewood Police Department) because I was talking to my friends about how the wait was too long. He also offered me a refund because he doesn't like unhappy customers but did not give me one. In the end, I had two wait another 30 minutes for him to not give me a refund, unapologetically gave me some cold hot wings, and the order was wrong I got all volcanic wings no sriracha wings and I really did not want my food anymore because he was so rude to me all because I didn't find his joke funny. I also couldn't eat the food after being threatened and yell at (I felt like he would poison me out of spite). Trevor explained that he has had 700 customers and only 3 complaints which I said was pure Blasphemy because if that was true why else would he have so many flyers around full of paragraphs urging customers to keep calm. After waiting about 45 mins total, I received my teriyaki and garlic wings that were cooked in old grease. I am a cook and know old grease when I taste it. To add to that, the wings appears not to be fresh. Highly disappointed from what I received. I will not return and will warn others of my experience. Hope the owner listens to his customers and get help and make some changes. To add to it...apparently fries were not available. My boyfriend and I came in from Vegas for a mini vacation and Wingopolis was the first place we stopped by when we got into town after finding it on Yelp. We were greeted by Trevor, the owner of the restaurant, who was incredibly friendly and kind. We ordered the 6 piece and the 8 piece combo and Trevor gave us a mix of breaded and unbreaded wings so we can try both kinds of wings.
