Margherita pizza was very good. I got the cauliflower crust, it was very good; it was well done around the edges that weren't covered in toppings - still delicious. The garlic knots were also good, I ordered through uber eats, and the delivery person was walking, so I'm sure they are exceptionally good when they arrive hot or are ordered in house. The marinara sauce was good for dipping, though I thought the garlic knots were better on their own. I also got a piece of red velvet cheesecake; after eating my pizza and garlic knots, I put it in the fridge for the next day. It made an amazing breakfast once I finally got to it, great cake to cheesecake ratio. The serving was enough it took two sittings to finish. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in for two slices, one square, one pepperoni. Both slices were fine; a little greasy, and the pepperoni slice had clearly been sitting around a little too long. Great spot. Lots to choose from in regards to slices, not just the normal pepperoni, cheese, etc. Little seating indoors with more outside. On a side note, I love chocolate chip cookies and feel as if I am a connoisseur. This place might've had the best chocolate chips cookies I have ever had, especially for a restaurant. Seems impossible to get good pizza delivery in DC these days, where the pizza is hot and fresh, comes in a reasonable amount of time and tastes good. This pizza showed up quickly and still a bit warm but there was an enormous amount of cheese (I did not order extra cheese) and as you can see from the pic a lot of it slid off the pizza. The visual of it all was pretty disgusting. It tasted ok the day it arrived but leftovers tasted awful when re-heated. I've never received a pizza in this state before. read more

Bad customer service. I won't be back after one of the workers apparently decided to punish me for ordering incorrectly by making me wait longer for my food. It was my first time there, and they had a confusing set up. I didn't realize there were 2 different lines, one for full pizzas and one for slices, so I just went up to the register as there were no other customers in line. I ordered 2 slices and paid with no issues. Then as I waited for my food multiple customers came in after me, ordered, and got their food and left while I was still waiting. I went up to the counter to ask about my order and was told I had ordered wrong and "that was a problem." He then pulled a box out from under the counter without even looking into it and handed it to me. He knew it was mine, knew it was ready, and saw me standing there waiting. But rather than call my order out when it was ready (like everyone else's), he made me wait until I came up to ask so that he could tell me off for ordering wrong. After visiting a couple of times, I can safely say these guys have some of the best pizza in the area. The store is small and parking is limited, but people are always lined up to get that doughy goodness. My favorite pizza here is the Chicken Tikka Paneer. Whoever came up with that one is a genius. It tastes so good with all the different flavors and ingredients coming together. The chicken is tender and the sauce/paneer are perfectly portioned. It's priced pretty well for the area too and their hours are awesome since they are open till late night. I also have had the chicken parmesan and mushroom truffle, and while they were good, they don't stand up to the almighty chicken tikka paneer. The next ones I plan to try are the Chicken Ranch and Buffalo Chicken. read more

I got a large 1/2 pepperoni and mushroom 1/2 cheese. I called it in for pickup. I got there in about 10 mins but they said it'd take around 20 mins to be ready, however it was ready when I showed up. I asked for plates and Parmesan cheese. He asked how many people and I said 3. He gave me three plates - the kind that are so flimsy that they can't hold a piece of pizza. One slice ended up on the floor of our hotel room. He gave me two packets of Parmesan cheese. I asked for a couple more since we have a large pizza. He gave me two more. For the price I paid, they were very stingy with things that are pretty standard for takeout pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza was also cold, which doesn't bode well in a hotel. I was first pleasantly surprised to read they use water pH from New York to match the flavor. But really you can't go wrong Also potentially useful to know-the sausage topping here is slices, not the crumbles. garlic knots are really good. Get them even though pizza is already a lot of bread. With marinara sauce. And i like the salad with the trashy caloric balsamic vinaigrette. Forgot to write an update after an absolutely miserable experience here. Don't get me wrong - the pizza is amazing and I'll be back, but it's completely unacceptable to have poorly trained staff/seemingly no leadership and no protocol for when they're busy. Went in recently and it was an absolute zoo. Barely any standing space (all during a pandemic), with a guy asking each person what their name was and their order, instead of just reading aloud which orders were ready at the time. Extremely infuriating experience when you're packed like sardines and have no clue when your order will be ready. I placed an online order and had to wait an hour past the ready by time, all while squished between other customers and delivery drivers. Had I known it would take this long I would've cut my losses and gone elsewhere. To add to that frustration, only some of my order was ready and they couldn't give me an estimate of the remaining items, so I ended up just leaving with what I had. They also couldn't refund me for some reason? So I had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get the money back for items I didn't receive. Oh and the cherry on top was me parking a block away and still being double parked by an Uber eats driver waiting inside for food. Not cool wiseguys. read more

Wiseguy Pizza sells pizza by the slice or by the whole. I came here from hearing good reviews. I had the margherita and vodka pizza. I also tried a bit of the truffle and mexican style pizza. I thought they were all really simple and good. The pizza was thin, crust was a bit overbaked and dry. I tried a few places like this before such as Christian's pizza in Charlottesville and Richmond. It is more pricey here compared to Christian's. For two slices, I paid around $9.50. That is pretty expensive for two slices of pizza I think. This place was had great service. The tables were clean and inside was neat. If you live in D.C. try it. I think it is worth trying out, I recommend it. There are cheaper options if you just want pizza. read more

Our new go-to for family pizza! I have had this pizza at work before since my old office is right by this location, but felt like I couldn't fairly review it since I normally wouldn't be able to join the group event until the pizza was already cold :( I think we have tried almost every major local pizza shop around, and this one is a consistent winner across the whole family. I've come here twice for lunch and I love the pizza here! They have a unique variety of pies to choose from and I don't even like ranch but their chicken ranch pie is hands down my favorite. They serve your typical cheese, pepperoni and supreme, but they also have buffalo chicken pizza, mushroom truffle pizza and so much more. I was torn between like 4 slices of pizza, however I know I could only eat 2. I got the buffalo chicken pizza and cheese (can't ever go wrong with cheese). The buffalo chicken was soooooo good!!! I'm craving another slice as I write this review. The garlic knots were a little to hard for me, so I'm not a fan. It's a fast paced line, so I didn't expect much conversation, however the workers were nice. One guy gave me a fresh slice of pizza and my friend fresh knots. BEWARE THE SPICY PEP SLICE. I live closeby so I have eaten at Wiseguys dozens of times because it is open late and it's conveniently located. The pizza is always fine, but I wonder if the super positive reviews are more indicative of the fact that DC has no other real pizza options than anything else (plus I would be willing to bet that most of these people have never had real NY pizza before but I digress). Last night I ordered a spicy pep slice for the first time; I wanted to try something new. The first thing I noticed was that the texture of the slice was unusual. I was expecting some burnt little pepperoni bowls. But instead, the slice had thick chunks of mysterious lunch meat that was more sausage than pepperoni. Second, the pizza is mislabeled. It was not merely "spicy" - this thing had to be 100,000 Scovilles (almost as firey as a Habanero pepper). I felt like I was on a pizza version of Hot Ones; I had to drink an entire Brita water pitcher (8-10 glasses) just to get the slice down. As if all that weren't bad enough, a few hours after taking down the spicy pep, I experienced food poisoning, including some of the most aggressive diarrhea I have had in years. The staff seemed pretty distracted and inattentive when I walked in to order. I ordered two slices of cheese pizza for my kids and a cauliflower pizza for myself. I asked for Spinach on my pizza and was told they didn't have it, so I asked for chicken, tomatoes and olives instead. My kids got their pizza right away and finished it. I waited about 20 minutes for mine. When I got to the car I realized they didn't put the olives on the pizza which further tells me I wasn't exactly being listened too. My go to pizza place in DC! Having grown up in New Jersey, I'm really picky about pizza. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in here one day a few years back. I went back occasionally, but now that I work a few blocks away, I stop in for lunch at least a few times a month. If it's your first time, know they have lots of options! You'll step up to the counter and tell the nice people which slices you'd like and they'll put them in the oven to heat them up. You'll move down the line, get a salad or garlic knots if you want and then pay at the counter. Then you'll circle back (out of the way :)and wait til they call out your slices. They don't have much indoor seating, but seats turnover quickly. If it's nice weather, you can always sit outside. Bottom line: A slice of cheese pizza and a slice of eggplant parm pizza for about $8 is a perfect lunch! read more
