Is this identical to New York pizza? No. Is it still very good? I think so! I really like how many different options they have for premade pies with toppings, which is definitely a New York-style thing. My plain cheese slice was pretty good, and I appreciated seeing garlic knots on the menu. Service was relatively fast, though the place was mostly empty because I went after the lunch rush. Our DoorDash order managed to force a response out of Wiseguys that they had accepted a 100 pizza order after us for the same time, and didn't plan to fill ours until they got around to it. Amazing pizza that you can purchase by the slice! My boyfriend got two slices of the supreme, and I got one slice of the Nashville Hot Chicken and one slice of the Korean Chicken. I loved both of my pizzas, but the Korean Chicken was my favorite of the two. The crust tastes delicious, but it gets slightly burnt on the ends because the pizza is reheated when you order it. This location is tiny with only one long table to sit at, so we had to squeeze in with all the other visitors. Even so, the food was definitely worth the experience. They have a bathroom with a code (you have to buy something and ask an employee for the bathroom code). They also have a small selection of fountain soft drinks and a little area to fill up free water cups or fill your own water bottle. We opted for the supreme pizza. It was so different from other pizzas we've had. It had a slightly thicker crust with a wonderful texture, akin to hearth baked bread. Additionally that cheese was so delicious and stringy. All of the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the meats were delicious. Their selection of pizzas is impressive and should please just about everyone at every age including little kids. Nice selection of premium sodas to boot. I heard this place had good slices and since I was in the area I decided to stop by. They didn't disappoint. The slices were delicious and the crust was just right. The biggest surprise to me was the variety of slices they had. Typically if I go to place it just has slices, you'll get pepperoni, cheese, and probably a veggie slice. This place easily had at least 12 different options for slices, including 3-4 chicken options, a vegan slice, some veggie slices, & meat slices of course. I had the mushroom truffle & Nashville hot chicken slices. I love mushrooms so getting the mushroom slice was a no brainer. I could also taste the truffle oil which just made me so happy on the inside. I wasn't sure if I'd like the Nashville chicken slice but surprisingly I did. The chicken was marinated in hot sauce and there was some shredded cabbage on top, which I thought would be weird but really it wasn't. All the flavors & textures together tasted great. The chicken was really tender and they slice was flavorful, not just hot. It really wasn't that hot just a little baby kick of spice. I'll be back to try more slices. Used to come here often and had to stop back in for one of DC's best NYC slices. They do some interesting flavors here I've never seen elsewhere. This time around I got a Paneer Tikka slice and a Nashville Hot chicken slice. The Paneer Tikka was as good as the chicken Tikka I got the last time I was there. The Nashville Hot Chicken slice was interesting with the coleslaw on it. Unfortunately it didn't get enough Nashville hot sauce on it and it was sort of a disappointment. They supposedly sell their sauce and I was going to buy a bottle if the slice was good, but alas that did not happen. Slice was fresh, just lacked any heat or any serious flavor. They used to offer large pizzas (as it on their menu), but I was told they only didn't that during the pandemic and they don't anymore, which was a bummer. My kid and I each got a slice of pizza. His was cheese and I got The Godfather (pepperoni, ham, and sausage). I also got 3 garlic knots. 2 slices of pizza, 2 drinks, and garlic knots came up to $19. They have a few tables inside for dine in but majority of their seating is outside. My son loved the garlic knots. I thought they were okay. It's already prepared but they warm it in the oven.
