Wandered by, looking for a quick meal, before seeing the RATM show at the Capital One Center. I wish we had kept walking... It's a tiny place and I felt in the way of every other customer who came in behind me. You are immediately forced into a line to order and you better not slack. The workers could not have been more surly. They have all of two tables inside, so the only other option was to eat outside, in 90 degree weather, in the blazing sun because they only have one umbrella available for six (or so) tables. I got halfway through my Korean Chicken slice (House Chili & Sweet Sauce, Crispy Chicken, Mozzarella, Cabbage Mix, Sesame Aioli) and threw in the towel. Out of the four slices we ordered, the Korean Chicken was the best one, but I cannot eat when I am that overheated. We also had the classic pepperoni, which was fine. The crusts on these pizzas are quite good upon first munch, and when it comes to the Backyard slice (Tomato Sauce, Green Pepper, Red Onions, Mushroom, Kalamata Olives, Chili Peppers, Mozzarella --- all you can taste are the olives), the only edible part of the pizza. The boyfriend really would NOT have ordered this if he hadn't felt so rushed. We brought it home, but the crust became brick-hard after its THIRD reheat - as all the pies on display are COLD and need to be reheated when you order. The Chicken Paneer (House Masala (contains tree nuts), Chicken, Paneer Cheese, Mozzarella, Green and Chili Peppers, Onions, Tomato, Cilantro, Jalapeno Sauce) was tolerable, at best. As a lover of Indian food, this didn't hit for me and reminded me vaguely of Christmas for reasons I cannot explain. Cannot recommend. Walk a couple of street down and get something in Chinatown. There is a variety of slices to choose from. They have almost a similar concept of two boots pizzeria in NYC with their fun names and unique toppings. It's a small shop with a few tables and chairs. A spot that even the FBI pops in to grab a slice. Pizza is subjective and it can be controversial. So what one person expects and experiences on taste will vary. As for me, I ordered the chicken Parmesan and Nashville hot slice. My sweetie ordered the supreme and godfather. The place was packed, but we were lucky to find a spot to eat quick before the movie. Customer service can be surly, and the one with the glasses was a bit snarky. The slices were heated a few minutes before we were able to pick them up at the counter. I would recommend if waiting on line to look at all the slices available. It will save time for both parties, and it might make the interaction more pleasant in the customer service department. Prices are reasonable considering it being in DC, and located less than a mile from all the main attractions. Oh and my Nashville hot and chicken parm was ok. I felt it tasted more of a sub sandwich than a pizza due to the thick texture of the dough. The sauce in my opinion was bland. The hubs slices was standard, but had good meat choices. Mine would be a great hangover pizza to soak up after a night out. Oh they also have slices of cake, and the carrot cheesecake is phenomenal. It reminds me of the cheesecake factory ones which was not that far from the pizza shop. Some places outsource their desserts. Overall a spot to grab and go if your looking for something quick and to fill your hungry bellies. read more

This place really lived up to the reviews. We ordered here via delivery service and the portions were huge. The pizza was packed with flavor from the Korean style pizza and the Nashville hot chicken. The sauces they had on the pizza were fantastic. The slices were gigantic and perfectly cooked with a crispy burnt char on the bottom. Is it bad that I liked Wiseguy's New York-style pizza better than any pizza I've had in New York...? I don't know, but one thing's for sure: this margherita pie was absolutely bomb, delivered straight from the oven. The crust was substantial yet thin and crunchy. Spices were conveniently set out across the table so I was able to submerge my slices in red chili pepper flakes to my heart's content. Solid 5/5! I went here on a late Saturday night with a friend after carousing around DC. Hungry as we were, pizza would do the trick. The Food: After browsing all of the different pizza selections they had, I went with the Chicken Paneer and Buffalo Pizza. They were specialty slices so they were $4ish per slice. The flavor of the Buffalo pizza was delicious and the size of the slice was big as well. I'd say, the chicken paneer pizza was the best I had so far, all of the ingredients worked together and was delicious! I almost went back for another slice. The Service: The staff were friendly and got the orders/line moving quickly. My order came out in a timely manner as well. Overall, solid place for a late night pizza spot! I've never had Wiseguy Pizza before but the pizza I had a chance to eat was called the godfather and mushroom pizza. This place is small and most people just pick it up and take it away. I liked how the mushroom pizza tasted. It was packed with flavor. I think East coast pizza joints are way better than in LA. They know how to do it and Wiseguy has a pretty cool concept where they have different old school photos of wise guys which is why I guess they named it that way. Whatever it is this pizza is delicious I don't know how they do it but I'm also glad I got to grab this and try a slice! I like how you can order per slice because I literally finished eating lunch but I also wanted to try this place out but not eat a whole pizza. read more

Yum yum yum! I'm not sure what to say about the ambiance and service since I didn't eat here. But I did really like the pizza! I'd give the Margherita pizza a 10/10 and the pepperoni pizza a 7/10. I've found this surprising, but I've personally found it difficult to find good pizza in the DMV since moving here 4.5 years ago. I am partial to New York style pizza, so that could be why. Anyway, Wiseguy is the exception to this, and it is likely my favorite pizza that I've had anywhere, let alone in the DMV. I've been in person several times, as well as have ordered delivery, and it is always delicious. My favorite slices are their Buffalo chicken, their chicken parmesan, and the mushroom pizza, but I have never had a "bad" slice here. The slices are also huge, and I feel they are reasonably priced when compared to other places. I've also had slices of cake, their cookies, their garlic knots, and both their Caesar and Mediterranean salads. All have been delicious and in plentiful quantities. The Mediterranean salad is simple but particularly good, in my opinion. And the garlic knots are the best I've had. I've taken mutiple friends and family members here when they are visiting, and all have given rave reviews too. There are a few things to be aware of, though. If you go in-person, it's a very small shop with limited indoor seating. They do have some outdoor seating, but even that can get pretty packed. Additionally, as it does get busy, I recommend looking at their menu before going (I haven't found that their menu changes much like some other places might) and knowing what you want in advance because they move through the line pretty quickly. Efficiency is great, but it doesn't give much time to look at the menu and decide. If you order delivery or takeout, I do find that, like most pizzas, it cools down pretty quickly. I do not recommend eating their pizza lukewarm or cold. Not that it isn't still good, but it's so much better hot. So, I always stick my slices in the airfryer at 380 for about 4-5 minutes before eating (and do the same with the garlic knots, but for slightly less time). If you don't have an airfryer, then I recommend heating in the oven because I really do find that this makes a huge difference. Overall, I highly recommend Wiseguy Pizza. read more

We hit this spot on a Saturday night after a pizza search on yelp. It was busy, but the service was smooth and quick. The pizza is sold by the slice or whole and there were some pretty unique options. I had a slice of the margherita and the chicken paneer to go. The margherita was bot exceptional. Nothing fancy or amazing. I think liking the firm chewy crust was an adjustment. I favored the chicken paneer a little more. It had some different Indian flavors going on for a pizza. Came here after church fellowship one weekday evening ... pretty empty which is great for me - someone who does not like lines. Lots of fun flavors like Nashville hot chicken, Indian curry flavor, KBBQ... and the more classic ones. We came as a group of 6 and got to order and get our food probably within 5 minutes!!! It is on the "pricier" end for thin crust pizza - about $5 a slice after taxes, but definitely still affordable all things considered for DC!! It's been a year and I'm still appalled at the DC food prices (although I think the pandemic kicked things more up) - but I did spend a lot of time in the Midwest, but I digress. For comparison, Costco pizza slice is $2 (they only have cheese/pepperoni though) and more greasy, and Andy's pizza (NYC style) has several locations with slices priced at $3.99, but they are also simpler in flavors. Okay, back to the Wiseguy slices: The crust is crisp and light, the flavors are solid. We definitely liked this joint and would return. They have condiments available if you eat in (most are outside seating, minimal indoor seating). One bathroom that was in the back - need a code and it was kept clean. The parking like mostly everywhere in DC, street parking (I think?). Would definitely return and am interested in trying more of their cool flavors. read more

Very disappointing given all the rave reviews - more of a 3.5, but leaning 3 for me. This is wannabe NY pizza, and it's not a bad impression, but the crust was more burned than thin and crispy, and the cheese slice didn't leave much of an impression on flavor. The mushroom truffle pizza, on the other hand, did, but not in a good way - I'm a vegetarian who isn't a fan of the taste of meat (no Impossible or Beyond for me, thanks), and maybe the blend of goat, mozzarella, and parmigiano cheeses, as well as the truffle oil, was just too decadent in its umami-ness for me, my initial reaction was "this tastes like meat." My partner said the mushroom pizza was still better than the vegan one, so I'm glad I didn't try that, but it sounds like the best choice would have been margherita, since he really liked that slice. Apparently, the prices are reasonable for pizza these days, but memories of Brooklyn pizza 30 years ago, (tastier AND cheaper) make this more than I'd want to spend for a meal in DC. read more
