The soft serve is so smooth and creamy and perfectly flavored! I also really loved the free toppings bar which had oreo crumbles that I absolutely love on top of different cereals and nuts. It was also a nice touch with the color changing spoon that would change when cold. The only thing I didn't love was the taiyaki actually since it wasn't fresh and the texture was just little hard. Maybe the taiyaki on it's own would be made fresh and taste better, but we'll see! I came here about 10 mins before they closed as I wanted to try the new place out. Service wise, it was great. They welcomed me and were patient as we checked out the menu. The place was really cute. The floors were dirty but I completely understand as ice cream and toppings drip. The taiyaki did take some time as it was made and it was extremely crunchy. The ice cream was great and didn't have the flavoring that coats your tongue. They give you a heaping serving so I would share this with someone. I also like the diy topping station and their creative choices (flaming hot Cheetos?). Such a cute little Ice Cream shoppe in LA~! This past summer I was visiting LA and my friend told me about this place, because it is so close to the iconic "BOPOMOFO" in San Gabe. I had to stop by here for some DOLE WHIP and omg, I didn't get a chance to go to Disneyland this time around, this culled my craving for that DOLE WHIP!! They offered such cute little additions to this place, you can add little toppings on your ice cream, and on top of that they had FISH WAFFLES CONES instead of the regular waffle cones! They were ULTRA CUTE!! I of course just ordered some Dole Whip, because we already had so much drinks and food over at the other place. And we grabbed some Dole Whip to walk in the LA weather around the area. I really wish Vancouver had the same weather as LA, always sunny and a good nice warm weather. Anyways, I am happy I got some Dole Whip during the time I was in LA, and on top of that got introduced to a little local ice cream shoppe in LA. It reminds me a lot of Somisomi, given it's one of those rare taiyaki places in our part of the SGV. The thing that gets me every time is how they nail the texture of their taiyaki - it's this perfect mix of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which goes amazingly well with their ice cream. I usually go for the red bean taiyaki topped with milk-flavored ice cream. It's become my regular haunt. Next time, I'm planning to dive into just their taiyaki, trying out different fillings.
