Extremely disappointed. The rice was spoiled. Smelled rotten. Plantains were hard and dry which indicated they were old. Oxtail barely came off the bone - very tough. This place was the worst food I have ever spent money on . The burgers tasted like shrimp which is totally unsafe for anyone with allergies. The burgers were awful as if they forgot at bout them on the grill. The wings were microwaved garbage. The milkshakes were not shaken, like milk and ice cream were put in a cup and served. Location is dirty with food uncovered. Over $50 spent and the shrimp tacos were fuming with a nasty smell. Thinking it was the seasoning, we took a bite and spit it out immediately. Wings were smelly too. They need to close down. And it's a shame because one bad owner with chefs make this only Caribbean spot in the neighborhood shameful. read more

I wanted to like this place. One of my favorite Black-owned Southern Cooking restaurants closed in Bayport so I was looking forward to this new one. My man and I went there for lunch. The young man at the cashier seemed unbothered as he watched television and appeared to have no idea what was happening. He knew nothing about the menu. I ordered the stewed oxtails and my man ordered the Cajun Salmon and Shrimp plate. We waited an hour to be served. How can you wait an hour for stewed oxtails which should have been cooked in the morning? The place was empty and the only person waiting other than ourselves was a man who only ordered fries. We complained to the lady who doing the cooking. She was very apologetic. She told me she was the only one cooking and was taking care of her call-in orders. Only three or four customers came in to pick up food while we were there. Finally, totally frustrated because our lunch hour was almost up, I went to the counter and asked where our food was. The lady said, "I know you were waiting a long time. The cook/owner is here. He just came in. Don't worry the food will be good." I was so angry that I asked to speak with him. The owner offered no apology and didn't even speak with us. He only glared from the kitchen without giving us eye contact. The "untrained" young man at the counter acted like he didn't know anything and was defensive. We angrily took the food and left as our lunch hour was over. Now, on to the food: The Cajun plate, which was salmon, shrimp potatoes, and some sausage was beyond terrible. The fried salmon was dry. The shrimp were not fresh and salty, and the sausage was dry and hard. The oxtails were unseasoned and had a funny taste, the cabbage was greasy and inedible, and the rice was like Uncle Ben's 5-minute rice and lacked flavor. There was more flavor in the burnt plantains. This was a total disappointment. I am from a restaurant family and have made everything mentioned above myself. I was in total shock that they were in business. Hopefully, this was an off day -- a very off day. I may try them again in the future, if they are still in business, to see if they got their act together but for now, I will stay away. read more

Burger was hard and tastes like fish. . Fries were about a 4/10 also. A burger shack should certainly have edible burgers. They did not.

Nasty food! Fried pigeon wings and some potato slices, served ice cold. A cup of Morton Salt with some water and a few bits of celery added to it and they call it soup. You have been warned! read more

After a brief chat with the owner, William, who happened to be there during our Friday evening visit, we discovered this gem In Bayshore has only been opened for six weeks. We found him via social media and wanted to pay a visit, not only because we love burgers, but to support a black owned business on Long Island. The business sits on Main Street in Bayshore. If you've frequented this part of bayshore, you know it's a very busy area, replete with various restaurants, coffeehouses, medical offices and clothing shops. If you do visit, once done eating one of the hearty meals, you can walk it off near one of the parks that abutt water. I had the cheeseburger combo with wings and fries. Very filling. The food came out quickly. While tasty, we both agreed we needed more salt added. Initially, we were the only two in the restaurant. We thought it would be crowded on a Friday warm night. William said he's awaiting his beer and wine license. Until then, enjoy the tea and lemonade on tap. The one bathroom was clean and unisex. No music when we there, but a large tv was broadcasting sports news. Parking can be tough on Main Street, but there are lots not too far in walking distance. Walking Main Street after the meal, we didn't notice any other restaurants like WM BURGER SHACK AND WINGS. Please visit. read more

I am giving a 5 because of the food. These are one of the best wings I tasted in a long time. There is only one other restaurant on main st that comes close. I got the garlic honey and all I can say is yum yum. I also got the lobster roll. It was different. It reminded me of lobster in a good potato salad. Not the potato salad from the grocery store. My only suggestion would be to add a little more lobster. The service was good. We went in a Friday night and they were very kind, explained the menu which is large and extremely kind. After we ordered we stayed to eat and they bought the food to us rather quickly. The ambiance and the menu reminds me of the Caribbean islands small food spots. They also played Caribbean music. I will definitely be going back to try different things on the menu. read more

I was so exited to try this burger joint with my family of 3. We all got 3 Burgers, all burgers had 2 burger patties Plus we had to pay for our fries!! And 3 drinks All together was 80 dollars! And then on top of that the cashier says there's a service fee for eating in the restaurant for 10$ 90$ for everything! And then she was mad I didn't tip her lol. The place I feel like has so much potential, just so overpriced. If the owner is reading this you can make a lot of money cause the food is wonderful. But get rid of the 10$ service fee and be the one burger joint who don't make us pay for our own fries! Come on how much does a bag a fries even cost! Stop being cheap! read more

Food is great love the oxtails. They are Caribbean oxtail cooked well tender fall off the bone. The service is good. They offer specials in addition to the regular menu items. My husband ordered jerk ribeye which was on the specials menu he also enjoyed his food. There is some seating however it's reminds me of a fast food place when it comes to the ambiance. They have late hours compared to other places on LI so if you're looking for a late night food spot this is the place! read more

Food was terrible. Place looked dirty. Service was horrible. I had a bacon cheeseburger. The burger was supposed to be a large homemade patty but looked like a frozen commercially made burger. Asked if there was a choice for cheese and just told no. Wasn't even told what type of cheese it came with. The bacon tasted rancid and I spit it out so I wouldn't get sick. Went there yesterday for the first time because of the good reviews on yelp. Ordered the lemon pepper catfish from the special list. Surprised at the small size of the portion for $24.95. Fish tasted fresh but the lemon pepper coating was so salty that it was not eatable. The accompanying rice was undercooked and hard and clumped together. The only part I liked was the plantains. The restaurant either did not have air conditioning or didn't turn it on leading to a very unpleasant dining experience. Won't be returning. read more

Heard local faceboook friends promoting this place. Decided to walk in and give it a try. As soon as I walked in I smelt the lovely smell of BBQ. I ordered BBQ sliced steak hero and chicken and waffles. Brandon took my order, he seemed quite bothered and annoyed at the other cashier. As I placed my order I requested no lettuce on the hero. His facial reaction and rolling his eyes seemed as if it was too much to ask. I asked him was there an issue he replied "no" . I placed a take out order, don't get me wrong the food was hot and fresh. Looked appeasing. My chicken and waffles tasted horrible! My tenders was not home made they tasted like they was frozen or delivered pre breaded. My waffles was crunchy and stale. The waffles was dried.. my husband sliced steak hero was saucy and cooked to perfect temp BUT the flavors was not there. I will not take the made to order food from them but they have to do better ! I was ecstatic, before I wasn't. I tried this place last week and got the Caribbean Pepper Steak and it was awesome! Was gonna give 5 stars. I went back to get it again and the first gave me a sausage dish. I returned to the counter and told them it was supposed to be pepper steak. So they gave me some type of Jerk Steak. Not what I ordered. I was very disappointed. The staff seemed poorly trained and a bit confused. I'm giving 3 stars until I try one more time. read more
