This place definitely is FIVE stars!!! My boyfriend and I arrived, it was hard to fine at night because the old sign is still up but we found it and soooo glad we did. We walked in and I love how even though it's small it was very clean, the nice lady who took care of us (wish I got her name) was very friendly and was knowledgeable about the menu. To me what stood out is that with every meal you get a nice small salad to start with this amazing house made dressing, and a small but YUMMY desert. For meals the also add on small portion of rice and noodles. I had the egg noodles with chicken and OMG they were the best noodles I've ever had....and I'm from the east and been to china town both in NYC and San Francisco. My boyfriend had one of there chicken dishes and again delicious not to saucy it was perfect, his only complaint is to much vegetables (which btw to me is a GOOD thing) This we will be go to place, especially since it's just 4 mins away from lifetime fitness!!! Pretty much everything I and my family have tried has been really good. Standouts have been sweet & sour chicken and general tso's chicken. My wife and son love the hot and sour soup, and the lo mein dishes are also a hit. We're still working our way through the menu and picking favorites, but haven't hit any real clunkers yet. Top notch Chinese Food. I have been searching Gilbert for Chinese food of this quality. The food has substance and flavor. Made with fresh quality ingredients and cooked without grease saturation. The egg rolls are off the hook! I definitely have to go back to try the spring rolls and crab puffs. Feel like I might be missing something amazing in those as well. Food portions are large. Being from New Jersey and so use to our favorite Chinese restaurant it was very difficult to find anything close! This restaurant made it! The only thing missing was the homemade duck sauce we were use to! The egg rolls are fantastic and I had roast pork and vegetables and my husband had sweet and sour shrimp! Finally tried this place out since it's right by our house & from the moment we opened the door we got a smiling and super friendly greeting. Got seated & our drinks right away. We ordered crab puffs and their special egg rolls and those were really good! I didn't even get a pic of our food because we were starving but I got Mongolian shrimp which was amazing and my husband got some type of beef and noodle dish and he ate it all! Been going to this place for the last two years. Excellent food and it was one of our Friday afternoon staples. Today's experience was dreadful. During pickup, there were three patrons were in front of me. The ladies were running around trying to piece the orders, each order including my own was wrong which meant unbagging and sorting in the back. My online order was late to boot. Is Wok with Ming under new ownership or was this an employee problem. I got home, all good with my pork rice and chicken S&S entries, until I noticed the reduced beef to my chop suey. It tasted bland and also had a hot seasoning that came up every couple spoonful's. Maybe they used the spoons to fill the cartons. Sorry guys. After my meal I ended up getting sick in my tummy..... Oh my goodness!!! I can't even express how happy I am to have found a Chinese place that is authentic and delicious! I ordered hot and sour soup (by far the best I've ever had) crab wontons (sooo tasty) and combination fried rice (super flavorful)!!! Have absolutely no complaints and can't wait to try out what else they have. Customer service was also an A+ I've been in Arizona for 9 months, from Southern California and I'm used to finding good Chinese on almost every corner back home but haven't been so lucky here. Tried this place out for the first time on Monday, May 23rd at 4:00pm ordered orange chicken, beef with vegetables and egg fried rice. Smelled delicious and we couldn't wait to try it. I ate 1/3 of the beef with vegetables, 3 tablespoons of fried rice and a little white rice. After I finished eating I felt bloated and decided to take a nap. When I woke up the problem was worse. Shortly after I went to the toilet and threw up which continued throughout the entire night. I must have thrown up minimum of 6 times from 7:30pm - 10:30pm. I was even throwing up water at one point as my stomach was trying to reject every bit of that food. Please note that it couldn't have been anything else as the only thing I had ate was at 7am (2 boiled eggs) and chips mid-day. Also, I am not one to get an upset stomach easily. The rest of my family burped the food up all night but I am the one that ate the most. read more

The best Chinese I have found for a long time in the Valley. We tried the chicken chow mein, sesame chicken and beef and broccoli. Everything was hot and delicious! The chef and hostess were so nice and friendly! They gave us a little fried banana and an egg roll filled with nutella (possibly?) also. The sesame chicken was especially good. read more

Just meh. We ordered the general tso's, orange chicken, Kung pao chicken and some crab rangoons. The general tsos and orange chicken tasted like frozen fried chicken, there was nothing but chicken in the dish, no veggies. The Kung pao lacked pao. The orange chicken had the sauce on the side and adding it yourself was not the same as having the chef toss the chicken in the sauce. The crab rangoons were the best thing we ate and even then just ok. The staff was friendly but food was just plain meh. read more

So we went here during covid and they had long tables preventing you from getting anywhere near the front door. They told me a time that my food would be ready and it ended up being way past that. The door lady was very unfriendly. The food was mediocre. I didnt write a review that time but I will this time to remind myself not to go here again! I wanted Chinese food tonight and their reviews are pretty good. So without knowing it, I ordered. It was 30 min til closing and I asked if I could still order. They said sure. So I get down there for pick up. Big signs everywhere "carry out only" and "wear your mask!" I walk up to the door and its locked!! Its not closing time yet! I dont see anyone in there at all. I knock and nothing happens. I called and one of the ladies is laughing and embarrassed. She was talking so fast I couldnt understand what she was saying. So I hang up and hear them unlock the door. They have my food. One of the ladies has rubber dishwashing gloves handling my food. She brings it to me and starts fumbling with the credit card machine, with the gloves on. I pay and they follow me to the door to lock it right behind me. Guys there was 10 minutes left til closing time! We drive home, about 10 min away and the food is cold. My house chow fun has a weird peppery taste. Cold noodles and peppery taste dont make a very appetizing combo. I made a mistake ordering from here and definitely wont be back! Service and food was great! They aren't doing dine in, so we ordered through door dash and received a pick up time. I always go early because I hate to pick up food that's waiting for me to arrive. I called immediately after placing my order because we decided to add another item. They were very understanding and gracious. Servings were generous, we had teriyaki chicken and lettuce wraps. The lettuce was very fresh and crispy and the filling is cooked perfectly. The teriyaki chicken was a bit salty for us, but had good flavor. The Yakisoba noodles are seasoned perfectly. We also had egg rolls and crab puffs and both were seasoned and cooked very well. All & all we enjoyed our food, it's priced in the average range, but you get very generous portions. read more

Unfortunately that is about the end of the good news. We would never come back because the food was really just average at best. I spotted this little restaurant while I was driving through the area, the name caught my attention. So, I stopped to check it out and was glad to see they had menus out front on their to-go tables. I called in, had a few questions and received excellent customer service! The woman that I spoke with was extremely kind and helpful. When I let her know I liked spicy dishes and garlic she made a recommendation for me. Now on to the food.. I ended up ordering The Kung Pao Tofu with extra garlic. So the food was just okay. My favorite place is Yao on Gilbert, great food but I'm always so thirsty after I eat their food. We thought we would try this restaurant. I decided to finally try a new place for some Chinese food on the first night of the whole quarantine event. We haven't had Chinese food in a little while because places were just ok and didn't really stand out in anyway. Well that's put to the side and I finally found a spot close to home we can continue ordering from. I saw that had good reviews and then the name just spoke to me. I mean who doesn't like phuns. This was only a simple order night and not a multiple entree order like normal so I can update this next time if need be. We ordered there crab wontons, sesame chicken, and hot n sour soup. I'm addicted to crab wontons and these were wonderful. Very large in size and the filling was delicious as well. My wife loved her soup, just said if was incredibly hot. That's temperature and not spicy so I would say that's good. To wrap things up the chicken was really good as well. Sauce was delicious, breading was crispy (which is so hard to find, most places are soggy), and even the fried rice was great. Overall spectacular takeout meal and I look forward to eating her again sometime. read more

We decided to try this restaurant because their egg rolls looked really good in the Yelp reviews. They were very disappointing. It was battered and huge but very airy inside. The veggies were a mush inside and overall not that great. The cheese puff/rangoon was under fried so the wonton skin was kinda still chewy/raw. The pan fried noodle was not pan fried. It was thrown in the deep fryer so another disappointment there. Also the sesame chicken sauce was nothing special. The only thing that made it a sesame chicken was the sesame seeds sprinkled on top. We also tried the Kung pao chicken which did not taste like a normal Kung pao dish. I will not be returning. read more

Yelp says this restaurant is 56 miles from my house and that is the only negative thing that I can say about my first experience with Wok with Ming. Ever since Sing High in downtown Phoenix closed a short while ago, my husband and I have been on a quest to find an EGG ROLL as exemplary as the one we once ordered from Sing High. I'm so excited to say that we have surprisingly found a spot...THIS spot that is dare I say... BETTER!
