This is my first review I've written, because most places fall in spectrum of normal/decent. I also respect workers trying to make a living by any means necessary. But the dish I just consumed (chow fun and combo plate) was unequivocally inedible and disgusting. I am the type of person to finish all the food on a plate, and I have a very high tolerance for quality since I'm not picky. But it cannot be understated how terrible the food is. I had to throw it away after a few bites and drive to chipotle for a an edible meal which I've never had to do before. I'm writing this review for the sole purpose of warning the general public to stay away from here. Let me start with some positives before discussing why this place should be avoided universally. The portion sizes are actually quite good, for moderate prices. In addition, the service was friendly enough. To summarize the negatives without too much editorializing: Regarding the chow fun: -visually pale compared to how it should look, reflected by its lack of flavor -noodles were stuck together which from my experience is a product of premade noodles that were kept in the refrigerator and then barely microwaved without even bothering to separate it out and make it look decent -meat was fake-tasting with a similar texture as imitation meat. I'm certain that the "beef" I ate was some component of plant products mixed with a large amount of preservatives Regarding the combo plate (fried rice with eggplant and black pepper chicken) - rice was watery and bland - tofu was edible but eggplant was cold - black pepper chicken was somewhat edible but similar to the beef, did not taste fresh and was overcooked. All in all, even after throwing away the dishes, I've lost my appetite from the first few bites for the first time in nearly a decade, and I'm shocked how a place like this can mess up basic Asian dishes. I cannot believe a place like this exists in Sunnyvale where there are countless great Asian restaurants for equivalent pricing. I truly think that this business should be disbanded if it continues to serve this quality of food. I haven't experienced any stomach upset as of 1 hour after having a few bites but I'm worried that it will ruin the rest of my night and tomorrow. read more

They're also doing a great job with being sanitary during this CoV outbreak by wearing some advanced looking face masks. They still give you enormous portions and food is still delicious. This place has some great portions, like they fill your plate up to the max. This place is not too far from us. And we wanted something quick for lunch as we were pretty hungry. I would say this is a fancier Panda Express. It's the same concept but they seemed to have a pretty large selection. Always happy to support a local business, over a chain like Panda., also. Anyways we arrived and they had one person helping scoop food and one person at the cashier. There was also a lady off to the side, that looked like she was making dumplings, pot stickers, or egg rolls or something. There was a customer getting a large order so we had to wait a few minutes. No biggie. We were able to peruse the trays and decide on what we wanted. I think their most popular menu item are the combos. You can get 2, 3, or 4 items. One caveat is that one of the items is your carb - fried rice or chow mein. So you really only get 1, 2, or 3 of the interesting items. They state it right there on the menu, although is small-ish print. But it is disappointing when you have your items chosen and you have to cut one. Or you just up your combo count. Which is what my bf did. He ended up with the 4 item combo, which ended up way too much food and luckily he made 2.5 meals out of it. He got the BBQ pork fried rice, five spice chicken, beef w/ broccoli, and the shrimp n veggies. I tried a little bit of all of his stuff and found it decent. I got the three item with eggplant tofu, peking pork and the chicken chow mein. It was like 1.75 meals for me. I liked my peking pork the best - really flavorful and I didn't get any bones in mine. The eggplant tofu was said to be spicy but I didn't find it spicy at all. But still very good. The prices for the portion size is also really great. Location and parking lot is small and staff seems to be a bit unorganized when it comes to DoorDash orders--order isn't ready on time the past few times I've ordered from here which makes it a little inconvenient. My boyfriend and I order walnut prawns, lemon chicken, shrimp fried rice and chicken chow mein. The walnut prawns pair so well with the shrimp fried rice; but I wasn't a fan of the lemon chicken. The chicken is oddly cut into large pieces, which makes it difficult to eat it without slathering lemon sauce all over your face. I also noticed a weird after taste with the chicken and wasn't able to eat the rest of my half. The food here is also pretty oily. Overall, not sure if I plan to eat from here again. read more

The fire must have been in the kitchen because the long 500 days for permits and construction has amazing resulted in the place that looks the same. New tables and painted walls and new decoration is all I see. Other changes, paper trays, expect soggy leftovers. Price for things went up. I see a few new faces too, only the independently rich could take that long of time off, but the all important person, the Cook must be the same. Not being able to eat here was like being snatched from you mothers home cooking when you move out. Thankfully after a year of grueling anticipation for the grand reopening they have reopened and are providing the same level of hospitality and food that they were previously.
