This place offers great value for Chinese food. I haven't tried their entrees that you can order and have only bought their combo plates. There are three choices for their combo plates: 2-item, 3-item, or 4-item. One thing to keep in mind is that rice or noodles has to be one of the items. Each combo plate also comes with a serving of soup. I tend to get chicken chow mein, meat item (Mongolian Beef, Salt and pepper chicken), and a meat-veggie item (Beef and broccoli, sauteed green beans). I get the 3-item which is around $10. Even though I'm a somewhat big eater, the combo plates lasts me for two meals. It's essentially like having a yummy Chinese food meal for $5! A quick Yelp search showed all Chinese within .5 miles radius with the exceptions of Panera Bread and Boudin. I digress. Very friendly staff, with the owner being exceptionally accommodating, explaining the dishes at length. Tons to choose from for meat lovers. Me? I stuck with vegetable dishes and seafood. Veggie fried rice, veggie with shrimp and tofu with eggplant. The latter? O.M.G. Super delicious. Generous sizes of tofu and eggplant. The sauce blended perfectly without the liquid effect. This may very well be their signature dish. Vegetable fried rice had generous amount of bite size veggie. Best of all it wasn't oily. Shrimp and vegetable suited well without spice taste - just how I liked it. Enough (4-5) decent size shrimps with fresh veggie was appetizing. Now, what truly sets them apart maybe their hot water dispenser. Have your ever asked for room temperature water and got weird looks? Not here. They proudly direct you to their drink section where you can fix your drinks to your desired temperature. Small steps that have beg impact, me thinks. And? Their plates and cups are china, not plastic. I really hate that I have to pin a mostly negative review on a place I used to love. I'm not entirely sure why but since the revival after the fire the taste of the dishes has been incredibly lacking. I've ordered a few times via DoorDash since the return and I've been entirely underwhelmed by every single dish. Everything lacks flavor. I've ordered pork fried rice, curry chicken, a couple different chow meiins, Kung Pao chicken and hunan tofu a couple times and every single item is just... bland. There's virtually no seasoning that I can discern in anything. My last, and probably final, order required some dashes of soy sauce on the chicken chow mein and the hunan tofu. The tofu especially has always been flavorful as well as a little spicy. This time there was just nothing. The tofu was watery tasting and the sauce flavorless. I think there were two black beans and the same for the jalapeño slices. The last few experiences with the food just seems like the dishes are watery tasting. They're just not flavorful in the least. It's a sad turn of events because after the tragedy of the fire it seemed as if the mere existence of the place was up in the air. I've been frequenting the establishment since 2002 but it appears as if that's going to be in the past. I may try to visit in person and see if the steam table experience is any better, as that was always how I ordered pre Covid but at this moment I'm really not pleased with the new shape of things. read more

We come here fairly often when we feel like chinese fast food. Probably one of the better chinese fast food places we have had, though we still like panda as our go to. The BEST thing about this place is their combo deal! They give you a TON of food. If you order the 4 items, I would say its probably enough for 2.5 people. Usually for my wife and I it will feed us almost twice! That's 4 meals for one person! They do have a bit too many fried options, but they have a good selection of non fried as well as some tofu dishes I like. A couple weeks ago, we decided to get a Father's Day treat from Wok's On Express and 'very much enjoyed' our selections :-) We had ordered Pot Stickers, one Veggie Egg Roll, String Bean Chicken, which was excellent. Also got the Broccoli Shrimp, which had 'lots of large size shrimp' and very tasty; shrimp were 'cooked to perfection' :-) The only slight disappointment was the Chicken Fried Rice, which was a bit 'clumpy' and didn't have much chicken in it. Always enjoyed the food here. Been coming here since 2004. Salt and pepper chicken is BOMB! Love that they have different fried rice options. Gives huge portions too. The reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the status of the restaurant inside. It looks old and dingy in it and kind of dirty, but it looks like that might change. We stopped by here last month and was bummed to see that they're closed, but I just called their number a few minutes ago to find out if they are still in business, and good news, they are! The guy that I spoke to on the phone said that they are closed for an estimation of 4-6 months due to rennovations. So hopefuly when they reopen that everything will be new and clean! It is a dream come true when a foodie has a lunch program transitioned to her open arms. The technical issues notwithstanding, it is a great treat to explore and find new venues to order from. So on the recommendations of several people, I headed over to this establishment to sample the fare prior to ordering for a couple hundred people. I ordered two 3-item entree boxes to go: -Veggie chow mein, Tien Fu Chicken, Garlic Chicken -Chicken chow mein, Mongolian Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork Both of these take out orders came with a side of free soup (Egg flower or Hot & Sour) and chopsticks and a fortune cookie. Both containers were stuffed to the top of the container and totaled $8 something with tax. A steal, given the high prices in this area in general. Staff here was friendly and quick, although I chose to speak to someone in particular when it came to placing a corporate order. Let me emphasize that the food here is Chinese American style. I.E. it is to appease the palate of Americans and is not true Chinese style, so don't be picky. This is a spot to go to for quick and huge portions of savory CA style food. If you prefer otherwise, go to PF Chang's for the sitdown and double/triple the total of the check. The food was pretty tasty, in particular the Tien Fu chicken and the chow mein. I hope to head back and sample the other Szechuan style dishes in the near future. I prefer highly flavored and spicy foods so it was a little on the lighter side here. However, I understand the necessities of having to appease the generic population so........ The establishment is in the vein of fast food Chinese deli style, in the manner of open counter tops and servings done by the staff. There is seating available on the inside but it seemed that most came here for the take-out. Parking is limited so I would recommend parking in the larger lot next door, not to mention easier access to the exit points and not getting blocked in by the SV types cramming W.
