Store mascot

The staff here is helpful and polite to all the customers entering the store. The store is arranged well and well organized. If you're in need of a hard to find screw, these guys probably have it.

Privately owned, local hardware store. Friendly, efficient service. Loved visiting with the resident parrot, Paco, who told me, "Paco wants a cracker." Came in to have a key made. They have quite the assortment of personalized keys. Ie. Hello Kitty. Free, shared parking.

Friendlier Service last few visits. Glad this store is here as an alternative to the big corporate monsters.

I was just told it would take 12 days to make 2 window screens. That's insane. The other 2 local hardware stores said 1 day max.

I remember when Woods Hardware was across the street and there was no such thing as "Ace" involvement.

Otherwise those endless rows of little drawers can get pretty intimidating! Staff are always polite and helpful. It also never gets so busy I have to wait long to be helped, and despite the small lot there's always parking there or on the street. I only wish they were open a little later but that's about it.

Absolutely bizarre customer service experience…read more I went into this Ace Hardware to make one basic copy of a house key. After the key was already made, I was told it would cost almost $7. I was genuinely shocked and said, "Holy fuck, just for one key?! That's a lot!" I understand that some people may not like that language, but I was expressing surprise--not threatening anyone, insulting anyone, or causing a scene. I still said I wanted the key and went to pay with my card. Then I was told there was a $10 minimum to use a card. Again, I expressed my disbelief at the situation. Instead of simply completing the transaction, the cashier decided to tell me to go somewhere else and took the already-made key back. So apparently, this store would rather waste a perfectly good key and lose a sale over a customer reacting to the price. The entire interaction was completely unnecessary and could have been handled professionally. I walked in to make a simple key and walked out because the cashier decided to escalate the situation over a customer expressing shock at the price. If you're looking for a place where a basic transaction can turn into an unnecessary confrontation, this is apparently the place.

I have to wonder if my recent experience was just a bad hire or something else?…read more I called to check if an item was in stock and verify pricing - the woman who answered the phone was fairly abrupt (rude), "I'm with another customer right now." Anyhow she put me on hold, then got back to me, "Yeah, we have what you're looking for." 2 minutes later, I arrived and made my purchase. No pleasantries, no "thank you" upon completion of the transaction. I'm not sure if they're still capturing phone numbers and tracking sales, but that didn't happen either. I self-loaded my two 40 lb. sacks of water softener salt. Too bad I threw out my $5 coupon they mailed me - today would have been a good day to use it - I earned it. Disappointed...3 stars is probably generous.

So what's the point? Why pay convenience store prices for things that you can get for way cheaper online or at the giant orange box store? Over $7 to cut a damn key?! And I brought the key blank!!! Come on. You're not even trying to be fair. I wanted to support a local small business but this place is truly not worth the sky high prices for these things. This store isn't worth it unless you're truly desperate to have what you need. Otherwise steer clear their prices are a joke.

This Lowe's seem smaller compared to the other Lowe's I've been to but I could be wrong. It doesn't bother me though, less time wasted trying to find things and more time working on my project.

Secondly, I asked for a cart, and there were none available, have to walk through the hardware, etc, just to get a cart...and this is hard because of my bum knee. I asked the cashier to call somebody to bring carts (which are normally ouside the Garden Area), but she said she intercommed 3 times and was ignored. Thirdly, I bought several items, and wanted to know the number of days that the item/s may be returned, because even with the receipt, they have different return dates. I asked 3 different employees, and was answered with "I believe...." Finally, had to ask for a manager, and after some wait, got the correct answer. Arent the employees properly trained to answer inquiries like this?? Lastly, I asked for someone to help me carry a 3 cu.ft bag of garden soil, just to put in my car, as I am in my 70's...there were also no plastic bags to line the car trunk (which they usually have so as not to dirty the car trunk) and the cashier had to give me trash bags (which, of course, were inefficient). Anyways, after several calls, and cashier informed that everyone was busy..I got an employee to help me after maybe 15 minutes wait.
