We used to live in Woodside and would eat here every weekend. The food was always consistent, friendly staff, but on the smaller side as places to eat go. We came back recently since we were at No Las hair salon that day anyway. Talk about a major remodel!! Easily doubled in size. All new tables and booths, paint, lighting, restrooms, etc. same waitress we remembered tho. The brunch menu was respectable and does come with a drink. Portions are still fairly generous, tho prices did go up. It's still a perfectly respectable choice if in this area, tho it depends on if you're after diner type grub or pub grub. For pub style, I say go to Cuckoo's Nest a few doors up the block. read more

We order from their new pizza menu. The pizza Fresca ingredients were fresh but the the pizza dough needs a lot of work. It needs more flavor and cooking. I wouldn't order this again. I went there for Sunday lunch on March We ordered soup, Avocado bruschetta with Smoked salmon, Egg benedict. After 10min, A server (looks like manager) said that the soup which we order was out of menu, so I order differnt soup. It was totally fine. After finishing my soup, I had waited my main food almost 30 min. We called waiter and asked that how long we needed to wait. The waiter stated that they will serve food very soon. We tried to understand because it was busy Sunday lunch. However, I realized that other people who ordered later than us already got there food. I felt that our order was missing. We asked that why other table got food faster than us. The manager stated that " we ordered the soup which was out of menu". WHAT ?????? Are you serious ??????? Even though, I heard stuid explaination from the manager, I did not want to mess up my Sunday, so I waited my food. Finally, we got our order. All dishes were terrible. 1. If I would've seen the bad reviews before coming I would've never even stopped to eat here. I Came with my brother for breakfast and it took 10 minutes to get our drinks, and more than 30 minutes for our food. The food came out cold, it was disgusting. This place is not worth it. Great service tonight at the Woodside Cafe. I was with two other people and we each ordered an entree. I had the half chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetable. It was wonderful. The mashed potatoes were perfect. The chicken was so moist. The other two people had chicken parm and the salmon. They were also very happy(the salmon eater is very picky and he cleaned his plate). Each entree was very large portion size, but we were hungry. Leftovers of chicken parm and half chicken were happily taken home. Great happy hour offer on wine and beer. The wine pour was very generous. One person had apple pie ala mode for dessert. He loved it. It was a huge piece of warm apple pie with a large scoop of ice cream of top. They also put strawberries and cream on top. Service was great and not rushed at all. Sometimes Monday night is the night to dine out! More than we expected. Best pizza in Woodside without question. I recommend everyone try the bee sting. It's a little on the spicy side but it's by far the tastiest pizzas I've ever had. I live in the neighborhood but don't usually eat around here but I came in for a late breakfast today. I instantly fell in love with the decor and ambiance. Beautiful dark wood with red leather and white marble and accent brick walls. Service was nice and quick which is always good when your hungry! I ordered Eggs Benedict with cheese and French fries and my boyfriend ordered steak and eggs. Well his steak looked OK from where I was sitting. He loves meat so he said it wasn't bad. I've had better eggs Benedict. Not bad at all, I just wish my yolk was a little more runny. I wish the fries had some sort of seasoning or herb on them, I feel like that would add a major extra touch to the dish. We also shared banana nut pancakes. Woodside Cafe is a MUST go to if you're in queens. EVERYTHING was amazing from service to food. I got the onion soup, mac and cheese skillet and philly cheese steak sandwich. Everything was literal perfection! Elias was our server and he was the most polite person ever. He checked up on us frequently and was quick. Also the woman with the butterfly tattoos on her neck. They don't seem to know all the drink menu... Yesterday I went and ordered a BLT. I also wanted a cold brew, which is on their drink menu. The lady got prissy with me because she couldn't understand what I was saying. I pointed on the menu, which she snatched away to see for herself. She then goes "I don't know, it's not available". After back and forth with her face expression seemingly going "I don't know what you're talking about" to me, I start to get frustrated. Fine. I order an Americano instead. I've come here twice becuase it is the closest diner to my grandparents apartment. Both times the food was average, but the service was horendous! Most recently, we wwere here on Monday for lunch. Hi Everyone I've been going here once or twice a week for many years and have always complimented it nicely to the polite manager. Expecting to receive an omelette that I usually order, I didn't like the mistaken one that they gave me instead of the ingredients that I asked for. When I complained to the manager, he accused me of returning my food a lot, which I denied and reminded him that I eat there once or twice a week. I did say that I have only returned my food when I wanted the promised caramelized onions, not those undercooked onions. I've done that because their menu specifically reads "caramelized" onions for those dishes and that's really why I had selected the Woodside Cafe to eat in instead of another place. He shouldn't print it in their menu if it's not intended to be served that way. The manager told me if their "food is not up to my expectations," not to come here & "don't come here anymore!" So, be warned that it's bad for you to expect to get what you ordered. Manager assumed that I wanted to NOT PAY for my meal! All I wanted was what I had ordered and of course pay for that. I won't spend my time shopping over there anymore because wherever I eat is where I'll shop also. That's money out of their pockets; not mine anymore. Plenty of other neighborhoods to shop in that have restaurants that bring people what their menu describes and what was actually ordered. I have gone to this place many times throughout the years. However, I think they recently got new owners. I ordered crab cakes today and they gave me small crab balls with a sprinkle of corn around it and charged me 10 dollars. I complained to the waitress that these are not what crab cakes should be; they were way too small. I did not ask for anything else and I asked for the bill, the waitress gave me the bill and did not even say thank you. Wow what a place! I was there yesterday afternoon and have seldom been so surprised by either the food or service quality when I'm out eating. I got the Cajun Chicken Sandwich and it blew me away, I'm a big fan of chicken and even though Queens has a thousand different delis no one does quite like Woodside. The service was also great, almost too quick: I went to the bathroom after I ordered and the sandwich was already on the table when I sat back down, I had no idea it was possible to get food that quick in Queens, but there it was fresh and delicious.
