A really cool, fun vibe! I was in the area with my partner, clueless on where to eat a lite lunch. After a quick search on my trusty Yelp app, Wooly's was the place! Note: this area of Pismo is incredibly busy on a summer Saturday. The fact that we got street parking (for free!) is beyond a miracle in itself! But we made our way to the end of the Boardwalk and were pleasantly surprised at how BUSY it was here! There was a line just to get to the counter and order. Once we did, we got a number and chose our table. It was practically impossible because the place was packed full of couples, double dates and families. I also noticed guests who arrived after us found a challenge in finding tables: a lot of guests have one person "save" tables so it was tough for the rest of us. Nevertheless, we sat at a high counter behind the bar, facing the beach - yay for views! My carnitas tacos were assumingly small but hit the spot and filled me up! He enjoyed his chicken club. That plus sodas cost $41. We didn't stay too long - there was so much to see! Also, kudos for having some doggie options for the pups. It's nice to see them included! Our go-to spot in Pismo! The location cannot be beat! Beautiful views of the ocean and pier. The Fish tacos are pretty good. They could do with half of the "garnish" lol. The fish and chips were awesome!!! We've tried restaurants all along the coast from Washington to Mexico and these were up in the top 3. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. We tend to spend a large chunk of the day here! It's crazy busy here on the weekends but we've never waited too long for a table. read more

Average food. Only saving grace was the deck seating to allow sunset views. Have to pay before food is served at your table. Service not good. Incomplete order was brought and had to hail busser multiple times and then interrogated to just get ranch that was ordered. Since you pay ahead they don't really care for service anymore. read more

Went here during a little get away- really fun vibe as it's right off the beach. Close to down town as well- The service was okay- it's a pay first, get your number and wait deal. Which I don't mind if it's run well. First and foremost I did ask the cashier a few questions and he didn't seem to know the answers for them- My husband ordered the clam chowder and I ordered the chicken salad taco salad. It's a shame when you can tell they didn't properly wash their lettuce- it was gritty and i can't stand gritty texture- the waffle fries stood out to me as very good- but the clam chowder didn't stand out as anything special- could have been canned soup type of flavor. Don't ever come here with your dogs they say pet friendly but only if you're not Hispanic they claimed your dog has to be on the ground but their was a white group of people who had a big lab and mine are toy poodle and Multipoo and I was told to put my dogs on the ground and they saw the other people and went over pet the dog and didn't say one word. It's sad bc the food was pretty good. Stuff like that happening in these times just goes to show you what the world is okay with. This place has prime real estate. We were lucky to get a booth overlooking the ocean on a nice spring day in March. Full house which seemed ordinary in this small touristy area. So u do have to place order at register but they do bring it out to table to enjoy. I went with a carne Asada burrito which was good no fatty pieces of meat and pretty filling. 2 others enjoyed the fish n chips 1 being allergic to seafood but packed medicines n enjoyed the cod. Extremely popular spot next to the Pismo Peach Pier. Great location and amazing view. You try to find a spot to sit and get in a queue to order your food. I found the food to be just average though. Maybe because I ordered mostly vegetarian items off their menu. It is possible that the meat options are better. Among the items we ordered- Batter fried Cauliflower, Impossible burger, Kale Salad and the Clam Chowder, they were nothing spectacular. I love how after all these years this place continues to be consistent with its quality and it's still my favorite place to get my calamari kick with its thick and tender pieces (over the years I've learned I prefer this over the thin, circular calamari pieces) and the toddler got to try a little for the first time. Would definitely get these again. On the other hand, the fried calamari was a big disappointment. My husband thought he was going to get crispy, octopus-looking calamari (like in Morro Bay) but he got these fish-stick looking calamari that was spongey and had not much flavor by itself. We went to Woolys on Wednesday as hubby loves their carnitas taco and I tried their Mexican shrimp cocktail. Both were good. At first when I saw my dish in a soup bowl I thought not much for the price but I was wrong. Lots of shrimp and goodies. Their sauce was a little to thick, to much ketchup but still good. They use to bring you your food but now you get a pager and you pick up the food, which I like. In the past if they were really busy our food had to sat tell it got delivered.
