This is not a business. This place is a complete scam, with absolutely no professional customer service, reliability or communication. I dropped my car off 2 months ago for an engine failure which was covered by warranty (and no loaner mind you). They told us it'll take some time as the parts will be shipped in but they'll keep us updated which is fine, until no one called. We had to call every single day for anyone to tell us anything going on. There was nothing but endless promises of phone calls which we never received. We were told to pick up the car then after WE called back to confirm day of, said never mind a few more days every time. Finally, after what was forever, we were able to pick up our vehicle. Arrived late in the evening and took our Hyundai home only to pull up and see this. This looks like a car post accident! A car so filthy my beige pants were black. A car that I kept as meticulous as possible returned like this!!! 2 whole EFFING months and no one cleaned it ? They trashed and scratched and abused my vehicle like it was garbage. Please everyone don't ever buy a Hyundai. The cars are unreliable and this is how they show customer appreciation. Our experience with World Hyundai was simply terrible. We live in the city of Chicago but did extensive research on the vehicle we wanted prior to reaching out to this dealership.  Prior to driving out to the dealership, we got agreement on the price both in writing (via text message) and by phone.  I then drove out to do the dealership later that day to do all the paperwork (so that the next day, when I drove out with my wife and 2 kids - a toddler and newborn - to get the vehicle, we'd be out the door "in 20 minutes" according to the dealership).  At that time, the dealer reviewed all the details, numbers, and confirmed my vehicle would have LuxCare protection. The next morning, I drove out with my family to get the vehicle.  Patrick gave us an in-depth tour of all features (doing a spectacular job - the ONLY positive part of this experience!).  We then began to move the car seats over from our old vehicle, before someone comes out and tells me that they won't accept a personal check and would need to come back on Monday.  I made it clear I would not drive an hour back and forth again to the dealership, but that I'd be happy to wire the money that same day.  I was told "the girl who takes wire payments isn't in" and that there was "nothing we could do." The dealership then watched my wife and I move both car seats back to our old vehicle.  As we were securing the last strap, the GM came running out and said they would do the deal now.  We then had to go back through the whole process of transferring our 2 car seats AGAIN into the new vehicle... only to learn, just before driving off the lot, that they didn't give us the paperwork and warranty for the LuxCare that they swore was already on the car. All in, we spent nearly 4 hours at the dealership for what was supposed to be a 20 minute visit (and in that time had to move 2 car seats back and forth between the vehicles 2 times... which every parent knows is a complete headache!).  The dealer then had the nerve after the fact ot ask us to give them a 10 out of 10 on their corporate satisfaction survey (which of course, I never got), and even tried to bribe me with a tank of gas for it!  (No thanks... I was told I would get a referral bonus . was told many times by the sales person it was approved and sent out . The only reason this so called "business" is even getting one star from me is because you have to rate them at least 1 star. Unprofessional, sneaky, and just flat out rude. I had multiple salesman and loan coordinators calling my phone ATLEAST 3 times a day asking to buy my car meanwhile I was waiting to even hear from their service department about my stolen car that was taken in weeks ago. Erick and his assistant chevy are the ones who sold me the car knowing that it was able to be stolen due to an outdated start system. When I finally arrived the dealership to get my car back $1400 and 3 weeks later they had the nerve to tell me they want to buy the car back to update it. Honestly I was all ears because after all the trouble that the car has given me, I'm just ready to get rid of it. When I actually started speaking to Chevy, he started asking me what I thought was normal questions such as where have you been working lately? what's been up? How has the car been treating you, as the conversation went on, he began to ask me more personal things such as what is your Social Security number? This question striked me to ask him why are you asking me that he then told me that he was filling out a credit form that I never even agreed to. When I told him that I didn't want him to run my credit until I spoke to Erick, which is the person that had been calling my phone back to back day to day he then went to go and get some man. they called a manager. This man's name was Robert King I immediately did not want to work with him, because I just witnessed him arguing with another customer sure enough he came over there asked me a few questions. I told him the same thing that I wanted to speak with Eric and he walked away disappeared for 20+ minutes I then stopped Chevy and told him I can come back another day and he went and got Robert and Robert immediately came back and told me that I needed a cosigner for the deal. I was trying to simply explain to him that there was no deal in place I simply just wanted to talk to the person that I had spoken to on the phone and in the midst of me talking he cut me off and told me "well I'm the manager so they can't tell you anything that I'm not telling you". So I simply responded and said I'm not asking them to tell me anything that you haven't told me I'm just asking to speak with the person that I have been communicating with. He then pulled out a card that showed he was the manager told me that the that Erick was not available, I then ask for the woman on the phone. Her name was Gabby. He told me. " look. I know what she told you on the phone but we're not going to just buy your car. You have to actually purchase a car." Immediately when I heard that the conversation was over seeing as I just paid $1400 and waited 3+ weeks. Why would I immerse myself back into business with you all I'm actually trying to end all ties with you and your shady business ventures. After walking away to go receive my keys from service, Robert King then follows me and begins to argue with me asking me what else do I need and why haven't I left yet we began arguing in the middle of the service department where he followed me around and told me that this is his building and that I had to leave. I told him I don't have to go anywhere because because I paid my money like any other customer. He then walked away where I seen Chevy sneakily follow along with nothing to say. Overall, the experience was shitty because I spent my money and been a loyal customer only to be treated like a bum shaking a cup. I also received my car back from service they had Taken all of the garbage that the thieves had thrown all over my car and put it on my front seat left glass all over the floor of my backseat and left my car with 4 miles till empty and refused to give me any gas because they claimed the car had not moved since I dropped it off. We were contacted by their finance department after appraising a car on KBB and told a deal could be made well within our parameters given their Memorial Day sale. We clearly detailed our financial details, including a recent bankruptcy, a specific monthly payment that was not negotiable, and which car, the only car, that we were interested in. We were assured that all was fine. When we arrived we were presented with the "facts" that the monthly payment wasn't possible given credit details. This was clearly a bate and switch operation to get us in the door. When we expressed our disappointment over this, we were assured that a deal could still be reached and we were asked if they could make it up to us by them trying to work a deal with a financial institution. When that did not work out we asked to leave. Each time we made our point they sent over a new finance employee who assured us of a deal they could work. We were kept their for three hours despite each of them knowing that they could not make the deal they were selling to us. Highly disappointed in the practices that they utilize. Not to mention the comments that were made about my credit history in front of me that were judgemental and derogatory. I will say that the salesman was friendly and professional, but three hours of his time and ours was wasted by the finance employees. We realize we should have called off things far earlier than we did, now that we can see how they were pushing a deal that they knew they couldn't work. But their high pressure and false promises kept a light in our eyes. Please don't let them fool you. Over the phone I was told I was approved, then when I get in I was helped right away but not even 5 mins in they left me sitting at a table Eric said that I would be approved if I get a coast signer. But wasn't understanding cause I was supposed to be approved already they were suppose to have my credit checked before I walked in long story short I sat in a hard uncomfortable chair for almost 4 hours for nothing, Eric was constantly saying hold on he was trying to work something out but would go and help another costumer. I told him to put the same make and model into KBB with lower mileage and it came out that the car was overpriced at $35k and was going for $27k. Would not recommend anyone to buy a car from them. Ok so what I probably should've done prior to driving all the way to Matteson, was read the Yelp reviews! I was repeatedly solicited by World Hyundai to come in to buy a car. I eventually took the bait and went in. I met with a salesman, a finance person, and the corporate manager. Once I agreed to have a credit check, we ran into a glitch! I had forgotten to temporarily lift the credit freeze on my credit bureau accounts! I assured the salesman "Chevy" and the Corporate Manager Will James, I would have the credit bureaus lift the freeze, and I would call and let them know once it was done. This was about 3:30 PM on Monday 9/24/2018. At 4:52 PM the same day I called and left a message for "Chevy" he never returned the call. I called back at 7:45 PM and was placed on hold and the call was disconnected. I suspect it was done intentionally. On Tuesday 9/25/2018 I called twice once in the AM and again in the PM. After unusually long wait times both times I was told "Chevy" was with a customer. (insert a smirk)...my last ditch effort to speak to someone about the application I called back and asked for Will James and of course he wasn't available either (insert a smirk) If Yelp allowed zero stars this place would get exactly that! Returning a phone call costs you one minute of your time...Even if I didn't buy a vehicle I would've recommended World Hyundai to friends...Chevy seemed new to the job so I will give him one piece of advice...Treat all customers professionally, a little positive customer service goes a long way. The sales experience was great. The car is great. The price we got was great. That's it. Since then it's been a nightmare! The sales rep was Mark who was very knowledgable about the car. Once we decided to buy the car, and signed the paper work, made the down payment, his promises of having some stains removed and a mat included in the boot (which he assured was standard) were forgotten. But that's not even the real reasons we're mad. They guaranteed us funding. We made the down payment on a credit card because our credit card got us points. The down payment was $5k. We were told the loan was to be financed via Harris Bank. Since we were going to register the car in Michigan, they said that we would receive the license and registration paperwork in a couple of weeks. We drove off the lot with a 3 week temp registration. Its been 5 weeks since our purchase. In between, we got numerous calls from Chase and learned that they were funding. They asked a bunch of questions and we sent them some paper work (pay stubs and all). By then the temp registration expired. I called the dealership and Mark assured us the papers were sent by Fedex to my work address. They never arrived. He even assured us they were sent on a particular date, about a week and half ago. Today I called the dealership about my paperwork and they said Chase had declined our loan since we made the down payment on a credit card. So they had to reapply to Harris (who they'd said were the financiers in the first place). They couldn't process license and registration till they got the car funded. So here I am driving a car with an expired temp license plate stuck onto the rear window, praying I don't get pulled over. My question is - if you're not sure of the financing terms, then why so desperate to sell the car? We made it clear upfront we wanted to finance, made it clear we were going to pay using a credit card. And what's so maddenning is the bunch of assurances which are completely false. We found World Hyundai on the Internet and found several types of vehicles we liked and went to the dealership. Truth be told...I don't like to be sold and I don't like the whole car buying experience. It usually takes a very long time and someone is always trying to sell you something. This was not the case AT ALL with the guys and team over at World Hyundai. We we treated like real people with a real need. Scott helped out through the whole process. We found the right car and got an excellent deal on the trade in and on the new ride. During the whole experience not our sales guy, the finance guy, nor anyone else tried to sell us on one upgrade. Saw a car we liked on-line. I Called, I asked, I talked, I even Made an appt to see the car. I drove 40 mins to arrive on time for the appt. they even texted me to confirm the appt. I set aside my day for this appt. Well, we got there and the salesman, Alex, says hello, and asks about some other car. I tell him, no that's not the car. He apologies and says he remembers and asks for my ID (I assume for the test drive, but Who knows. Maybe they were running my credit). He left, came back a while later and then told me that the sold the car two days before.. "But he had some other great vehicles for me." I mentioned the appt and said it would have been great to get a call. He then told me my appt was two days before. I have the text from them confirming. It wasn't. They knew and just wanted to get us in the door. It's like a horrible pick up line that most work 1 out of 100 times. Pissed does not even come close to how I feel. We bought our Hyundai in another state and had a check engine light problem that we took to World Hyundai. Keith and his manager took care of my soft needs to think the vehicle was cared for and a loaner car was given to my wife while the car was serviced. While World's customer service is good its repair work is not. We visited this shop twice and the same problems came back the next week. The "replaced" O2 sensor is still faulty (says another dealership) and the car did not start again. Needed work done on a warning light, was told the part was not in stock, and it needed to be ordered, they would call as soon as it did. Never received a call, but upon calling them was told the part was in. Set up an appointment. After 1 1/2 hours waiting, was told they ordered the wrong part. They would order the right one, and call us right away. Received a call from parts, saying it was in - but before we would commit to making an appointment, checked with Service to see if it was the right one - it was not. Called again, and were told part was in and scheduled an appointment. Received the appointment confirmation, but it was for a recall on a car we had traded in three years ago. Got another call the next day, and set up a true appointment for the service needed. Told them we did not own the old car anymore and to cancel that appointment, which they said they would do. Car was brought in, repair was done (third time was the charm.....hopefully). We were offered a complimentary "spa treatment" for the hassles we went through and were presented with a car that had been given an exterior spit wash, no cleaning of the inside, and incredibly our mats now had mud on them, which they did not prior to bringing the car in that day. Had to spend $45 at a local car wash to get everything back to how it should look. Yesterday, we got a reminder call for our appointment on the car we no longer owned, and a solicitation e-mail wanting to make us a good deal on the same car we no longer owned. Corporate Hyundai basically threw the whole thing back to the local dealership, and the local manager said that they need to make many changes. Incompetence, empty promises, and poor customer service is what World Hyundai is all about. Went in for a regular 3k+ mile check up, then a rep comes up telling me that there was a recall on my car's make, year and model. Oh really? So he takes me to his office. After explaining there was a problem with a tire alignment in his office., he takes me over to a "sales professional" jerry davis to see how much I can get on trading in my car for a 2014 model for my inconvenience. Yeah it smelled fishy so I told them that I had to wait for my wife to make a decision like that (trading in the car) then thats when they got really pushy. Wondering if I could call my wife at work or have her come to the dealership after work to talk about trading in our car for a newer model. I was told them no that was not going to happen and since they saw this pushy sells pitch was not working they lead me back to the sitting area where I was previously working on a paper for my midterm. After getting my car an hour later mind you, I had been in the dealership by this time 3 hours already, I drove home and checked online for any recalls regarding my Hyundais make, year and model. Meanwhile as I was telling my wife what happened on the phone, I searched Bing, and Google to turn up a air bag recall for the car but nothing else. I sent an email to Hyundai but they referred me back to the dealership. So it was an obvious ploy (long story short) to sale me a car by trading in my perfectly 2013 black beauty of a car for a newer model to make a sale! The rep nor did the sales professional mention the airbag recall, probably because their sales quota means more to them than anything else. Last time I buy a Hyundai. This place is a scam. I bought my car here 3 years ago. I was told my 60k warranty took care of everything. It has not covered one thing since i started. They want 4 times the price of tires you can get other places. My car has been in here several times for oil changes. For some reason, it takes literally hours awhile others come in for a trans replacement and I'm still waiting while they are in and out in minutes. They don't care, they don't give a crap about the customer. I was told they buy their tires from a place and mark therm up. I am 400 miles away from the end of my warranty, they want an additional 500.00 to do an inspection. I asked for an alignment, they refused send blamed the tires. I have been told one thing and given another every time i come here. The front desk is clueless when you ask questions, the staff could care less if your a person or a chair, just as long as they collect a paycheck!!! We were told once we arrived that they would put us in a used vehicle? For an astronomical cost. They could not find the keys for the vehicles to test drive? They wanted us to sign papers on a used car that couldn't see or test drive. The dealership was so loud with " dance music and rap" playing. And it was filthy. The finance guy Donte gave us someone else's papers to sign, bragged about his 39,000 Jaguar in the lot and literally was clueless. ( I could keep going on). We went to D'Arcy in Joliet. Financed at a low APR on a 2020 fully loaded Palisade AND a 2020 Sonata ( plus tint, paint protection and weather tech) and did all of this in less than an hour! I have gotten 4 new cars cars there and friends and family that I sent there all have bought cars from this store.And as far as I know everyone was and is still happy with their purchase and service.. All the people that work at this store have always been very helpful from porters , service and sales I actually have been thinking about buying my 5th car a full size Santa fe with a towing package it's one of the few that can tow up to 5000 lbs. I have never been more disappointed in a service department in my life. My engine seized (no fault of mine, it was a recall), it took 4 months to replace the motor (which they did for free), however, the day I bring my Santa Fe home, (filthy, by the way; I sat in oil on my leather seat); the engine light comes on. I bring it to my local mechanic hoping for something simple, and they ran the code, and told me to take it back to the dealer as it was an issue involving my new motor. I take it back to World, and they had my car for a few days, didn't charge me because they cleared the code without fixing anything. Engine light comes back on as I'm driving home. Bring the car back yet again, and now it is supposedly a brand new code it's throwing, unrelated to the other issues (I find that very hard to believe) and Hyundai Corporate will not pay for it. They had my car for 2 weeks and I paid $435 for this repair. Guess what? ENGINE LIGHT IS ON after driving my car for 1/2 hour. I took it to a friend with a code reader today since the dealer is closed. It's the SAME code that my local mechanic told me about that never was repaired because all they did was clear it!! They don't want to own up to their error when they replaced my motor. I left a bad review on their page after the first issue, and to get me to remove my bad review they called me and promised my car a mini spa day and free tire rotation. When I picked up my car today it was filthy. Nothing was cleaned, but my seats were reclined and a horrible rap station was blasting when I turned my car on. This place sucks. I had a deal with my salesman Can . I was scheduled to pick up the car on Friday of that week. I called on Thursday and was told it was sold by another salesman. I came by on Friday and looked at another SUV that they said would work with my bank approved financeing. I needed a van for my wife and 5 kids, they tried to sell me a small suv. This company lies, cheets, bate & switches and does anything to get your money while providing the worse service I've ever seen. My sales person was incompetent and had no clue as to what was going on. What a joke this place is. Never ever ever ever ever buy a car or get duped into going into this dealership. This place gave me the worst experience ive ever had! I should've have seen the the first day I interviewed. I waz contacted by sheri for bdc position first she told me someone would get in touch at the end of the call. Week later no one contacted me so I followed up with other offers. The same day i was sent to do my drug test for another company Sheri reached out again this time for a cashier position interview. I came in for my interview with Will James, first of all he didn't even know what i was there for! I waited 30 mins as he walked around doing other things after he was told what i was there for! Then he finally started the interview still asking what position am I there for. The interview process lasted almost two whole hours because he kept leaving the table say he will be right back. Finally it ended i was sent 30 mins from my home to take a drug test i did and past. November 22 2021 was my start date so sheri called the Friday before to confirm the time ill be in and to go over the hours. I arrived at 2pm did all my paperwork finished waiting for will James unil afte 4 pm he then said emily is not here to train u can u come back tomorrow. I asked will i be paid for the day he said aw you a hustler huh! Then told me ill just find someone to show u a few things so u cant get paid and learn a little. I was given a time card to punch. Around 6:43 pm every one started to call the girl i was training with into a huddle immediately after i was called into a office with will james and some woman that never introduced her self. He proceeded to tell me that unfortunately they accidentally over hired for my position and will I sign a form stating im being terminated! I declined! He said well there's nothing else i can tell you. Told the woman to go get my things from the office i was training in at this point they started treating my like a intruder. I got so upset I started crying and tell him he was so wrong being so close to the holidays ive turned down multiple offers and waisted time and gas! They all was just like oh well. The general manager shavone just stood by looking at everything play out with out saying a word then followed me outside as i left as i was a trespassing she didn't offer any words or apologize for this embarrassing and frustrating experience! STAY AWAY FROM WORLD HYUNDAI IN MATTESON!! another elderly family member and I bought cars from world Hyundai in Matteson, IL such a bad experience. Here's the story, one of our cars needed transmission work so we were just ready to trade and be done, we went to World Hyundai and of course, they promised so much but unfortunately the scams are real. Erica and Brandon had us waiting till midnight(the first night) we signed papers for a 2020 white Malibu then we come to pick it up the next day, they said there's something wrong with it and we couldn't have it???? I test them and said we'll wait till it's fixed and they made up every reason in thee world why they could not accommodate that request, wink I already knew they sold it to someone else. My son and my intuition told me to leave but we were so tired, we waited another 12 hours and was going to walk away from everything unless they gave us a deal of 2 cars. After they had us waiting till midnight (AgaiN) they brought out 2 over priced, very high interest rate cars, a 2017 Escape with a few small dents over the top brake light which also had a missing cover. The 2018 Hyundai Sonata that I discovered had bad brakes and Erica who is such a lier and full of bs one of those car sales managers that will say anything to get a car sold, don't explain things just do shady deals to get a sale. She promised to get the cover for brake light and get brakes done, it took 3 months for them to order the light cover and never called me for an appointment for the brakes but now want me to to pay for the brakes, saying they can't be responsible but neither erica or Brandon called me for an appointment but instead consistently ignored and dodged my phone calls and requests. My check engine light came on for the first time in my 2019 Hyundai Accent. Brought my car to World Hyundai Matteson to see what the issue was, after they "fixed" it they told me to pick it up & everything was fine. Couple days later the light was back on, so I call again letting them know so I bring it back up there. Same thing happens they tell me the fix it & a week later engine light is back on. From December 2020 up until my engine failed in November 2021 I had at least 10-12 appointments for my check engine light. That whole time up until August or October 2021 I was under warranty & they gave me the runaround saying it was fixed & it wasn't. All they said was to keep gas cap tightened & supposedly did the multi point inspection. About a week or 2 before my car stopped on the highway I heard a knocking & immediately brought this to there attention. They told me they were booked so I leave. A week or 2 after this my car stops while I'm on the highway, now they are claiming it is due to me not getting enough oil changes, LOL. Now that I'm from under warranty they denied to pay for my new engine. Before you ask yes I am taking legal actions. AVOID THID HYUNDAI IF YOU CAN! Also when I told them I wouldn't pay them a penny to get it fixed they told me to pick up my car & let my front hood open & the cover to my engine off, so petty & childish of them read more
