This is our new go-to sandwich shop. They have a great assortment of sandwiches, as well as a special of the day. The second time we stopped in, I got a swordfish sandwich that was absolutely to die for! I love that they offer bottled water for free with your sandwich. The house made chips are crisp with just the right amount of salt. If you come during the lunch rush, it might be hard to find a table. Never fear. ***UPDATE: we found out they would be serving Katsu Ramen to celebrate. So we made the trip from where we live in Tolleson to Mesa. Worth it (see what I did there). It was better than ramen restaurants I've been to here in phx. Not only is the food outstanding, the customer service is top notch. We were probably only there for 45 minutes and we were asked multiple times how everything was tasting and if we needed anything. The employees are super nice and make you feel so welcome. This is one of my top 5 fav restaurants of all time. LOVE IT! Thanks worth! We just went here this morning for the first time. I didn't really know what to expect as far as breakfast goes. We were greeted by two employees immediately who were so friendly and helpful. They were running a special for biscuits and gravy. BEST BISCUITS AND GRAVY I'VE EVER HAD (don't tell my gramma). Picked up takeout for me and another to have a little picnic in a park. My experience left me scratching my head at all the high reviews. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, Buffalo dip, a side of pickles and a side of veggies. First off, when we opened our bag we saw the chips were missing for the Buffalo dip. The Cuban sandwich was neatly made and the bread was decent but the only real flavor on it came from the dijonaise. The Buffalo dip had a nice kick and you could really taste the Blue Cheese but there wasn't much chicken and we had to eat it with a spoon as the chips were missing. Best part of the meal was the side of veggies, super well roasted and delicious, pickles were meh. I wouldn't not go back but there also wasn't anything to compel me to go back. With that, I think the 3 stars is a fair assessment of my experience. read more

The bread was really great...fresh, flavorful and crunchy crust and lots of really delicious, fresh peanut butter, too! My picky eater loved it - which is worth it's weight in gold! It's not often that I order a sandwich and think "Whoa... That's a game changer!", but my first order from Worth Takeaway had that effect. Chicken sandwiches are typically "pleasantly bland" at best, and based on other reviews, I was hoping for a bit more from the Worth Takeaway Crispy Chicken Sandwich. My thought after the first bite was "That can't have been that good...", and the second bite resulted in "Holy &#!%, that's the best chicken sandwich that I've ever had..." Okay, so maybe a bit of that response was based on the fact that I had tried to temper my expectations, but it's a REALLY good sandwich. It's fairly simple concoction at its face; a tasty piece of fried chicken breast, on a really good ciabatta roll, topped with a delicious sweet/spicy sauce and house-made pickles, but the sum really results in more than the individual parts. I got the sandwich with the side salad that's lightly dressed and refreshing. I also could not resist the House Made Banana Pudding. If you think that there's any chance that you might enjoy some banana pudding, just get it. Delectable... My order from Worth Takeaway started with circumstances related to the COVID-19 lockdown and needing to get some food delivered to my office nearby. We came in with high expectations with such good ratings, but for a place with 5 stars this was significantly worse than we could imagine especially with how expensive it was. We got two chicken sandwiches, (one being the specialty of the week (Nashville hot chicken sandwich) and a chicken salad. Everything was lacking flavor (except for the fries which were very good). The crispy chicken sandwich was so bland, it was crispy but not good. The nashville sandwich came out looking very good but halfway though it I came to the realization that it was just spicy and also had no flavor. It was spicy but needed more seasoning and can fairly be compared to others (daves hot chicken or the crack shack) who have flavor beyond just being spicy. The salad was disappointing, it was very sour and watery (honestly gross), overall a very sad salad. Had a bad feeling about going here after looking at the menu and I guess I was right. I think the crazy amount of high ratings might be due to the lack of actual chicken sandwich places in the area. San Diego has quality places, this area of Arizona does not. However, the fries and chips were actually pretty good and the only part of our meals that we finished. The fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! This is the perfect lunch spot. The sandwiches are delicious and the menu truly has something for everyone. I got the Italian grinder with fries but everyone in my party was very happy with their choices. Basically you can't go wrong! Good Cuban. Good mac and cheese. Bad [famous] Crispy Chicken. It isn't crispy, has a strange texture, and the lettuce is disgusting. They only have two side dish options: a gross, unappetizing salad (that automatically gets tossed in the garbage) or french fries for an additional fee. It's a little odd that they ask you to pay more for french fries than a salad. Seems completely backwards and unamerican. I would probably go back if I was dying for a good Cuban. This is my 3rd time here and I promised myself I was going to take pictures. We are dealing with COVID-19 so we ordered pick up We got the special chicken Parmesan sandwiches and a kids chicken. Husband came home and I Blacked out and came to after half my damn sandwich was gone so no pic. But their food is sofa king great! The chicken Parmesan was great. Perfect amount of marinara and pesto, yes pesto, and mozzarella. The bread was soft and every bite was perfect! The kids chicken was great! So thrilled to see a local spot that is delicious and thriving in downtown Mesa! First of all, the service is top notch. The people are friendly and extremely accommodating. It's a quaint space but still large enough for a good size group to enjoy their meal. Food was AMAZING! The crispy chicken sandwich is so fresh with a little hint of sweet, spicy and savory. The homemade pickles are not too "pickley" and add a nice crunch. Honestly if I lived closer I would probably quit chick-fil-a and come here when I'm craving a hot juicy chicken sandwich. Don't forget the fries and chips! The fries have a nice seasoning on them. If you are in the mood for dessert, the banana pudding is bomb! It's refreshing and so so good. Mom tip: they have high chairs for little ones. Since having our son it's something we always appreciate having!! Worth Takeaway is a gem in the heart of downtown Mesa. This area has popped up with some awesome local/independent eateries and Worth is top notch amongst them. It's a smaller, order at the counter, kinda joint with awesome service and spectacular food. I will often balk at a $12 sandwich but Worth was well "worth" it. (Bet I'm the first person to make that joke.) I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and a friend who is on a rather restrictive diet ordered the Italian as a salad. The servers were super accommodating in helping us finding our choices and didn't seem to flinch at our dietary needs. The food was up super quickly and brought to us on the patio. Both our meals were fantastic and the peach tea we ordered was unreal!! All the ingredients seemed to taste high quality, chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce they used on the sandwich was phenomenal. Lastly, but maybe most importantly, is the staff. All three individuals I interacted with were just awesome! They all were great at their jobs, and seemed to be genuinely enjoying being at work. It's crazy how much of a difference that makes in a service staff. Lilly and Alkyrie (probably butchered her name, sorry!) we're attentive, friendly, and reassured us that the food we got would be amazing and they were not wrong. The BEST sandwiches I have ever had. I absolutely love the BLT with the spicy candied bacon. My husband loves the buffalo chicken and another chicken sandwich one that has blue cheese on it. He gets it with light blue cheese and it's super yummy. The fries and the side salad are both very good. They also have a banana pudding that is sold out most of the time because of how good it is. I really like their orange juice and their chocolate milk. read more
