We discovered Wrap It Up during our visit to the DSW store. Foods are fresh, and seating capacities are limited - so the ambiance is tight! The service is very good, the owner and his family members are very friendly! One hidden little secret - the brother of the owner owns Suri's Mediterranean :-) They have a family history of owning and running businesses around Reno! Whatever you order from here, take their garlic sauce and lentil soup! Both are really, really good! We are a big fan of their wraps, Baklava, and salad! If you like falafel this place is not even an option. The "falafel" gets an F. It's more like a brown veggie patty very dry and taste neutral. No sign of the green freshness which is the tale tell sign of a good falafel ball. Everything else was fresh (as advertised) like the cucumber salad. Potatoes were decent. I'd probably give 4 stars but the purpose of my mission was falafel and the law of averages brings this to two stars. It's almost sad. The care and prep that goes into the food which is of quality but the carelessness in the "falafel" is a total miss. I went in at 10:50 am. asked if they were open since it looked like they were still setting up and the spit( where they cook the meats) didnt look ready. I asked about getting a Gyro lamb he said it was ready. all I asked is if it was fresh and not dried out from being stored. I've been to places where they open a drawer pre cooked and dry from lack of moisture. This is probably our favourite casual Greek place in town. The ingredients are so fresh yet the food was made so fast! The staff is so friendly and helpful - they greet us promptly and took an interest in helping us (not something you expect in a fast paced environment)! Most Mediterranean places in Reno are pretty decent, but this one is more than decent! We typically get their chicken shawarma plate, falafel plate, dolmas, and lentil soup. Got the falafel wrap and my partner got the gyro. I love Mediterranean Goodland this was delicious. My partnered ordered and he said it was easy. Went in and the wait wasn't long. They made it fresh and handed it over. We got home and it was not soggy or anything. Was so hungry I almost forgot to take an image of the falafel wrap. It was so yummy. Would go back again. Came here because I read a local elite reviewer had posted about it 3 times. Piqued my interest and I decided to make a date out of it. My lady loves Shawarma so we came to check it out. Reza was there to greet us and handle our date's needs. Michael T. raves about the greatness of Ali, but I'm sure Reza makes Ali VERY very proud by the way he graciously sanitizes and tends to the needs of his establishment. He had a delicate and lovely assistant in the back helping him keep an eye on us making us feel very welcome and we ordered some of the shawarma and falafel. Two plates both very healthy servings and they came with a side salad and garlic sauce. I didn't try the eggplant and looking at the plates didn't think I needed anything extra. However... we both polished off our entire helpings. It was really expertly prepared. The Shawarma was so juicy and the falafel had crispy ends which was exactly how I had heard them previously detailed in so many reviews. Wrap It Up was our Friday night pick-up spot this past week and am upset we haven't been there in so long. I called at 4pm to ensure they would be open after 5, you never know these days and their posted hours has them closing at 6pm. After confirming they were going to still be open, I asked if I should call back 20-30 minutes prior to our pick-up time and the gentleman told me he could just take my order now and have it ready at 5:15 when I told him I would be there. He was very polite and patient with me on the phone and thanked me for the order. When I picked up the order, it was the same gentleman that helped me, I believe he was the owner. The order was ready, all neatly packed up waiting for me. I was the only one there and appreciated the efficiency. We got home and unpacked, everything was there as ordered along with utensils and napkins. We ordered a Mixed Shawarma Wrap, a Veggie/Falafel Wrap, Chicken Shawarma Platter, Greek Salad, Shirazi Salad, Tabouli Salad, and a Baklava. It was perfect, truly. The flavors were fantastic - enjoyed the little scoop of potato salad in the Greek Salad. Not sure why but what a nice surprise. The wraps held up great on the way home, the chicken from the platter was good leftover the next day as was the tabouli. The tanouli BTW had this really nice fresh mint flavor that came through without being too minty. The falafel was also flavorful and wasn't dry like I've come to expect from most falafel. So the hubby decided he needed a to go lunch, and I was on my way in to town... decided to change it up and not get the regular burger and fries. I was wanting a salad anyways, so this would work. I got him the mixed wrap meal, (that included a bag of chips and drink),and I got the Greek salad with chicken. Delivered his and when I got home, got a text saying it was good, but the meat was a little chewy. The flavor was good. After I unpacked from my trip, finally sat down to eat my salad! I haven't been here in YEARS and today it was either Suri's or Wrap it Up. My job is just across the street so I chose Wrap it Up. $9 for a Greek salad plus $3 for chicken. I don't know, it is a VERY pretty salad and the first couple bites were amazing! Then I dug into the chicken, I might have some qualms about the quality and fattiness of the chicken they provide. Chicken should be lean and not too hard to mess up. This was so fatty, not sure what parts of the chicken this was from. Some chunks even tasted like liver and my stomach is churning. It was OKAY, I liked the couple Kalamata olives, a few garbanzos, and some radish slices. The dressing is tasty and just the right amount. Maybe next time I will opt for falafel instead of chicken. This place is located in the shopping center as total wine and david bridal. It's a quaint little shop with a few tables and a order line. Lots of flavor but not too salty, and has the perfect balance of veggies, and tzaziki sauce. The lentil soup I ordered as a side almost made it too much food, I was so full after but I'm glad I didn't skip because the lentil soup is super good. Definitely recommend trying. Don't forget to pair your food with the baklava dessert. You can tell it's homemade and worth every penny, and there's always room for dessert.
