For drinks, I tried the mango daiquiri. It was refreshing, but a bit more icy than mango-y, and I definitely would've appreciated a bigger straw . The only downside was that it got a little warm inside since they had the side opened up for the bar seating during happy hour. But between the good food, decent prices, and extensive menu, I'd definitely come back and try more items.

Eventually we were seated, but the service only got worse from there. Our server barely acknowledged us. We had to flag him down multiple times just to get basic things like drinks. When we finished eating, we again had to wave him over just to get the check. Even after we boxed up leftovers, no one even offered a bag to take the food with us. Despite the poor experience, we still left a tip because we believe in treating people fairly. However, this level of service is far below the bare minimum you'd expect when dining out. I almost never leave reviews anywhere, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. If I were the owner, I would want to know that the staff representing the restaurant are delivering service like this. 1/5 stars. Very upset with the experience today. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the level of service here.

After our beers, we waited 20 minutes with no attention before asking to be moved to a booth. We were surrounded by dirty booths. Another 15 minutes later, the bartender said he'd be back with menus... and never returned. After another 10 minutes, we got up and paid ourselves. This was during the Delray Tennis Open and peak beach season. I'm a local, and this wasn't my first bad experience, but it will be my last. They seem to survive on doing the bare minimum, and tourists end up paying the price. The only reason for the extra star is the cool signed jersey from Mike Eruzione on display.

The first time I went in 2022, I remember it being more of a traditional steakhouse. The Ave has grown significantly around it over the years, but it's still one of the staple restaurants in a central location. Overall, it was great meal with good service and nice atmosphere. It's sill one of the gems. We started with the wedge salad and cheesy bread. We wanted to get the Filet Mignon and the Prime Cut Ribeye to share them, but they were out of the Filet which was a bit surprising. Instead, we got the Crispy Chicken Piccata. They were both excellent. The fingerlings and asparagus were good and loved the red wine sauce. The crispy chicken was not too heavy, with lemon and an ample arugula salad. I don't remember the name of desert, but it was a combo of a browny with an Oreo cookie layer (which the kid in me couldn't refuse) with a scoop vanilla ice cream. It was great.

We were doing a random walk after brunch in Delray last weekend and with little more than a look at each other we decided to have a beverage at Sandbar. The service was quick and solid. We had a couple of solid drinks, each. After that though we continued our walk, pleasantly perked up. There are better beach bars for sure,, but not in the Delray beach area. The jambalaya was hearty, well-seasoned, and loaded with meat, while the brisket sandwich was smoky, tender, and paired perfectly with the barbecue sauce. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked just right. Between the food, the laid-back atmosphere, and the friendly service, Batch is definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in Delray and looking for some quality Southern comfort food.
