Haven't been here in a while and not really sure why. There has been two changes since being here last: they now take cards and they have Negra Modelo on tap! Both of which I will partake of! My wife got the Popeye Omelette and the boy got chilaquiles. Of course I had to do divorced eggs. Food was great as was the service.

Been going here for over 30 years and the food is always amazing! They did increase their prices significantly recently. I used to order a large combination #2 and it was $11.75 two weeks ago, now it's $14! That's crazy! Will def not be dining here as often now.

I literally hate doing this. this place was my favorite place when my daughters were all young. me and my wife would feed our kids on about $45. that would be two regular breakfast dishes and three kids breakfast plates including drinks. today? For four people it was $80 with a tip. the photo will show you. I ordered Chile Colorado with scrambled eggs and potatoes. I ate one piece of meat and when I looked down I realized it was only three left. in amazement, I asked the waitress what had happened. she went back to the cook who stated that's how much they meat they put on that plate. we both kind of stood there awkwardly and she did not ask me if there was anything else she could do and I didn't know what to say back. it was not worth what we paid for. it was a lot more than what I thought we would pay for. but chili colorado breakfast with four pieces of meat is not satisfactory. and I loved this place.

Food is Amazing and quickly served very Hot. Portion size is always good, prices are very reasonable too. Place is small and always sooo busy, with waiting list no matter what day you go. Building is on the older side, but not shabby either. Staff is Always so friendly and the service is great.

I stopped by here after the farmers market on Shaw and Blackstone on Saturday. I had the best tasting chilaquiles I've ever had and I lived in Baja for 10 years! The flavor was off the charts. Very comfortable family style restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly. I'll be back to try other items on the menu.

The Cheese Enchiladas in all its saucy glory.

If there's one thing I'll order, other than tacos, at a Mexican restaurant-- it's enchiladas. More specifically, cheese enchiladas. My friends and I joke that I could easily be a vegetarian since I don't care much for meat sometimes... but of course, I can't live without tacos either. Every time I go to this establishment, as much as I say I'd like to try something new, something different-- I always end up ordering these cheese enchiladas. There's no way. I crave that sauce at least once a month, if not more. I neeeeed to know how it's done!! Their rice and beans are really good as well. Add their spicy salsa (it's not that spicy but I love the flavor) and it's the perfect meal paired with a nice, refreshing, fizzy coke! They do not offer complimentary chips & salsa, but that's okay. The amount of food is plenty! The service is quick, the servers are as nice as they can be, and there's plenty of seating available... but they do have their moments and fill up so you'll be waiting in line, but not for too long, just jot your name down. Because they are in such a small, hidden location, parking may be sparse... Aside from the alley parking behind them, I usually park in the next neighborhood over, a very short walk. My trick to trying something new is to invite as many different people there with me as I can because they will try other things on the menu and I can nibble off them... win-win! I've tried their Chilaquiles, Chile Relleno, Ground Beef Taco, Chorizo and eggs plate, and Pozole. That's all I can remember at the moment. Some pictured, some not. All very good, yes, even the taco. It's not the typical, authentic tacos we're used to but it was still good... wouldn't be my first choice though. Who are we kidding... we all know my first choice! Cheese Enchis for the win! This is my definition of comfort food. Instant happiness in my belly. Oh, and decently priced. Please never change!

Food was DELICIOUS! authentic Mexican. Drinks were also Delicious!! We Enjoyed our visit! And will certainly be back!

Oh my gosh I can't believe it took me so long to come here!! My coworkers have been talking about Country Fare forever and I finally got around to going. Staff is AMAZING, super friendly and very attentive. The food selection was pretty big so there's something for everyone. Very clean and nice restaurant with great vibes. I can't wait to bring more people here!!

Three enchiladas with rice and beans on the side
    Hidden T.

I ordered two chicken enchiladas , and one cheese enchilada with a side of rice and beans. The corn tortillas were stale and chewy, and the beans and rice tasted far from fresh. Not long after eating, I began to feel nauseous. The ingredients were low quality, and the dish relied heavily on cheap cheddar cheese to cover up the lack of seasoning and freshness. Given the price, the meal felt like a rip-off or a scam. I did not receive the quality advertised and left feeling disappointed and physically unwell. The restaurant appeared to be falling apart, from the floors, to the cracks in the ceiling, and to the food stained walls were absolutely disgusting and I will not be coming back.

It's been too long since we ate here, but managed to enjoy two late lunches in the past week. Consistency brings longevity and the food here has changed little over the years. Generous portions, well-prepared, not too spicy (but mild & spicy salsa versions are both offered. They stay busy; mid-afternoon, mid-week and the main dining room was full. As we were leaving, at nearly 4:00, newly-arriving customers necessitated the side room to open. Service was great, attentive & efficient. We can recommend the ground beef taco (3) plate with beans & rice, also the shredded beef tacos, chili rellenos, and cheese enchiladas. Plates are brought piping hot to the table, another plus. Forgot to mention reasonable prices (hard to find these days).

Chilaquiles with red sauce and refried beans. So yummy!

Stopped in for breakfast after the Farmers Market on Saturday. I ordered the chilaquiles with red sauce. OMG! The flavor was off the charts! I was able to be seated right away. The waitress gave excellent service and the food came out quickly. It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised! Nothing too fancy, just a humble family owned restaurant that was comfortable.

The food was overly greasy, and the shrimp fajitas were overcooked. The rice was dry as well. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I don't think I've ever felt betrayed by Yelp reviews...until now…read more During a recent road trip we stopped here to picked up some lunch/dinner because tacos are quick and easy and their Yelp rating is high. Location/services: Upon entering the building I immediately noticed the heat. It was a hot 98 degree day and the restaurant felt like an oven and was maybe 3-5 degree cooler than it was outside. I then quickly noticed this was a very simple operation (almost like a food truck), and not much to the menu, but there were folks sitting and eating and a few others waiting to order, so I assumed the food must be great. We ordered 4 meals (tacos with rice/beans) which was meant to be eaten there but after waiting in line and feeling like we were in a hot box, we decided to make it to go. We sat and waited for our food (about 20 mins), we chatted and observed our surroundings and it became very apparent the restaurant was not maintained with basic cleaning because it was very grimy and just plain dirty. I then used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. Our ordered was called and the staff was very nice. The food: As I mentioned, we got 4 orders of tacos (all carne asada) with rice/beans, and we asked for salsa and limes. We got grilled jalapenos, lemons and one sandwhich baggy filled with red salsa. Not a big deal. The meat was fine but the tortillas were inedible. They were tough, flavorless, and greasy. The bean and rice were ok. We ate enough to curb our hunger but none of us finish our food. Upon my best judgement, I had convinced myself that the food was gonna be great because their Yelp rating told me so. I was so wrong! One last note, there was nothing here that resembled a bakery/panaderia. So if you think you could also grab a treat here, you are wrong.
