All delivered a strong flavor and with adding salsa from on the side, I was able to flavor to my liking. Excellent taste, quality and quantity. The Aguas Frescas choice was Pineapple/spinach. That was also excellent. The waitstaff were helpful and nice. The owner was there and he was engaging and friendly. I made a reservation for 15 people for my birthday, which happened to fall on father's day this year. They not only made the reservation for me, they moved tables to accommodate us. I went there today for the first time to get tacos and really liked this place. They had a good deal for Taco Tuesday. The chicken tacos were good and I also got quesadillas with rice and beans. We used to come here when it was Tacos Corona and we were sad to see it change owners. But wow has it been a big improvement! The restaurant is nice to sit in, the servers are well trained and kind, and the owners often check on us during our meal! I feel really well attended when I eat here. The food is excellent!! The birria plate is our favorite and easily feeds 2 people. My dad says the birria tastes like my moms (and that's a huge compliment!). The tacos de tripa are crispy and well cooked. Rice and beans are delicious. And the aguas frescas taste home made (get the horchata!). You can't go wrong with what you order here. It's all wonderful! This review and shout out goes out to Manuel the cook. I've been here several times and have never had an issue with any order. The staff always makes proper accommodations to diet restrictions. Today was a bit different. I called at about 8:10 on a Monday night and placed my usual order. Chille relleno plate, and 8 hard shell tacos with pollo asado and cilantro only. Got home around 9:30 to tacos with lettuce, tomatoe and cream. I drove back and of course they were closed. I knocked and the cook opened the door. I explained that I ordered the tacos plain but that it had extra stuff. He was a bit hesitant but apologized and said he would remake them. A huge thanks for having such a compassionate AWESOME chef like Manuel, this is the true definition of superb customer service (and it wasn't even his mistake)! read more

The food is TERRIFIC!!! Some of the best guacamole I have ever had and a very generous portion to boot! I had a delicious hibiscus margarita that had fresh berries crushed into the glass. The birria was the best I have ever had and THE CHURROS topped with caramel and filled with a delicious caramel cream were out of this world!! We ordered delivery from here tonight (hadn't tried it yet) and were pleasantly satisfied with our dinner. We had carne asada, birria and guacamole . All quite good, very generous portions and great value. We were surprised by a lovely gesture in our delivery bag. It was a sweet box of churros with a "thank you!" These little extra efforts count. It seems businesses during the pandemic are taking short cuts, food prep is sloppy, presentation is non-existent; I get it they're just trying to survive given high food prices and gauging delivery service fees. It would still be nice to know that there's still some care going into what leaves their kitchens. This is one of the most amazing little hidden gems in all of LA. I grew up on Mexican food and am obsessed with good home cooked food. Well let me tell you what, they nailed it. Every single aspect. Rice and beans are perfection. Tacos amazing, perfectly cooked and flavored. Everything I love about Mexican food. Now let's talk drinks. Holy freaking margarita! This is also my new watering hole. This is an amazing spot! The aesthetic is beautiful. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our favorite dish was the Aguachiles Verdes it was the perfect combination of lemon & spice. The shrimp was so juicy, we loved how fresh it was as well as the tostadas that came with it. The drinks were also fire, I love that they offered a variety of mixers. The staff is why I'm writing this review. The staff was gracious and attentive, we loved talking to the owner who made us feel right at home. Food is always consistently beautiful, fresh, and tasty. Service is always perfect. Ambiance makes you feel at home. I paid $32 for an 8pc chicken wing, a side of french fries, and 2 sodas. A side of french fries was $9!!!!! Sodas were like $4 each! Wings were $12!!! Like, how?!?!? While I love everything they have made and served here, I cannot get on board with the prices for a taco restaurant. If you want great Mexican food, eat here. I will never disrespect the food, the ownership, the service, the staff or the quality. They are all wonderful and go above and beyond, but the prices are intimidating. I hope the economy leans more towards the consumer side someday. With all the 5-star Yelp reviews, I have had this place on my radar. Since this is a "taco bar," I only wanted to try the tacos. I ordered four different tacos and I only liked one. If you name yourself a "taco bar," you better serve me some outstanding tacos. The recommended taco to order was the shrimp taco and their second was their fish taco. I ordered two other random tacos that not too many places make such as the potato tacos and the rajas con crema. First thing I noticed is that the tortillas are not very good. They taste like the cardboard generic ones you'll find at the grocery store. You only can get handmade tortillas on the weekend. The shrimp was the most flavorful taco. The deep fried potatoes were strangely huge cubed pieces of potatoes without much flavor. Birrieria Apatzingan in Pacoima makes some excellent potato tacos. The rajas con crema was not that flavorful either or maybe I've just had better before at Kermés Taco Grill in East LA. The fish tacos are not Ensenada style and had a cornmeal like batter and a very strong fish taste. My favorite fish tacos in the Valley are at California Fish Grill or the Ensenada-style fish tacos on Sundays at the Encino Farmers Market (not sure if they are still there). Maybe the fish tacos at Costa Grande, but they do a weird thing stacking the fish on top of the vegetables. I am more of the traditional fish on the bottom and accoutrements on top kind of person. I don't mind the tempura battered fish tacos at Sharky's. The stand out of the restaurant is definitly the service, similar to what you'll find at a more formal Mexican restaurant and not a restaurant in a Valley strip mall. It was very attentive and professional. If they improve their tacos, this would be a knock out combination and an outstanding Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure where all these 5 stars are coming from. Perhaps they ordered something else or they are blurring good food with great service. I find this very common with the 5-star restaurants on Yelp. Most likely the service is stellar or they are giving away freebies like a free drink or dessert. I've learned that the food is not always good at 5-star Yelp restaurants. The common thread is excellent service. I'm not sure if I would ever come back considering my experience with the tacos, but if I ever do, I would come back over the weekend for shrimp tacos on a handmade tortilla. read more

Perfectly crunchy outside, soft inside, filled with not overly powerful caramel. kudos on this one! We did takeout but the seating and environment is really comfortable. Bar and kitchen on the right, lots of tables and moody lighting on the left. Would be a fun place to get some drinks with friends. Overall very happy to pay a little more for quality food.
