I had a terrible experience at Extreme Claw in Sacramento, at the Arden malll. We spent $20 on tokens, and the claw was so weak it couldn't even lift a single teddy bear. Honestly, it was a complete letdown. To top it off, the guy working there was kind of iffy--I would avoid this place at all costs.

Wow I can't believe it got even MORE expensive. So now this place is two dollars purple that's insane. I spent $50 and didn't win anything once again a huge rip off waste of money save your time and stay away.

It was a fun experience with my little brother at the spot. I like the puppachino that I won. But most of all, the worker was nice enough to let my brother trade in 3 plushies instead of 4 for a hazard because he wanted it so bad. So thank you to her.

What a cool arcade for children of all ages! We attended a Santa pajama event nearby and were instantly intrigued by all the lights and toys. This new claw arcade is located near the elevators and main entrance. As soon as we enter the arcade, you'll see everyone having fun. Make your way to the back where the cash register is to purchase tokens. The employee was very nice and helpful. There are a variety of claw machines to play, our 2yr old was able to play with ease and even won a prize toy! Pricing seems reasonable and the claw machines have some fantastic prizes. So much fun. Check them out the next time you visit Arden mall.

Love coming here to pass time! Came for their St. Patrick's special and got 58 tokens for $50 plus a free Hello Kitty plush. They had the Hello Kitty dumpling series and I was able to win all of them :) so $50 later, I won everything in my photo plus a Pokemon trade-in (Bidoof) that didn't make the cut for my Sanrio pic haha. You can easily trade plushies for another within the same machine, so just be sure to go for the easy picks rather than selecting for a specific character. You can also trade up for larger plushies at the counter valued anywhere from like 3-12 smaller plushies. I just wish they kept their website/IG updated with the plushies they have in their machines & available for trade ups on a rotating basis. They seemed to be really good about posting weekly on their IG stories last year, but don't really post as frequently anymore.

Honestly we had a blast! The prices and the payouts/winning rates were fair IMO. At this claw game arcade, it's 1 token per play, but if you spend $20 or more they give you extra tokens. We spent $60 and won 8 plushies in about 45 mins. Would totally come back again!

    Great variety of trade ups!

I love this little hidden gem in the Arden Fair mall! The claws wiggle a lot when playing but that's the rush of playing claw machines. Their prices are affordable and my kids always walk out with list of toys or trade ups and smiles on their faces. It's always a good time when we're there! I really appreciate how accommodating the employees are; they're always willing to swap out our wins and help out the kids.

Went on St Patrick's day weekend and was able to get a FREE Hello Kitty to start off the fun. Good selection of plush . Would go back.

I grew up in the golden era of gaming, the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s when weekends meant blowing into dusty cartridges, late-night multiplayer battles, and flipping through Game Informer magazines dreaming about the next big release. Those games weren't just entertainment, they were core memories of my childhood. Now, seeing my son discover and fall in love with those same games and magazines has been something really special. Ever since we moved to Sacramento a few years ago, every visit to 1-Up has felt like stepping into a real-life time machine. The moment you walk in, you're surrounded by nostalgia, memories, and pure joy. Whether it's seeing shelves packed with retro classics or spotting consoles you haven't touched in 20+ years, it instantly takes you back. The owner and staff are all incredibly cool, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about gaming history. I'm always blown away by the little-known facts and stories they know about these old-school titles. You can tell this isn't just a business to them, it's something they truly love. Special shoutout to Travis for the amazing customer service and for hooking my son up with a PS2 Slim in fantastic working condition. Seriously, where else can you walk in today and find a retro console like that, fully functional, along with a huge selection of games ready to relive those memories? I would love nothing more than to see businesses like 1-Up continue to succeed and thrive in the face of online competition. Places like this keep the memories, community, and fun alive for old gamers and new generations alike. Sacramento is lucky to have them. Game over? Not here at 1-Up, the memories just keep hitting "Continue."

They carry video games from a plethora of consoles. They also have collectibles, box/collector sets, videos, etc. Long story short, I left with a pile of goodies. I thought the store was spacious to walk around with other people around. The displays were great. I liked how they converted an old grocery store veggie stand into a display on the right side. The only bummer is the tape and stickers used on the merchandise. I bought some mint in box items and the sticker price tag was so hard to peel off. It left a very bad sticky residue. I was able to clean it off most of the items. But, I worried that the paper boxes would be damaged if I used a solution. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I enjoyed the little lounge area in the front right while waiting for friends to checkout.
