Given the state of the world these days, opening up a new restaurant has got to be especially tough. I do think Yafa Hummus is well positioned to weather this storm and eventually thrive. We've been to the one in Tracy and were blown away by the exceptional food. The newly-open one in Dublin is every bit as excellent, in friendly service, cleanliness, and awesome food! It's basically make-your own wraps or bowls with chicken shawarma, gyros, or falafel. Then pile on your choice of two sides and sauce. Their baba ghanoush has a mild spicy kick, while their hummus is so smooth. Both the gyros and chicken are excellent - neither really require sauce. The brown rice option is healthier, and I especially liked how fluffy and puffy the rice was. A $10 bowl will keep you full since they also give you a generous helping of soft and chewy pita bread. 5-stars. Unsurpassed fast-casual Mediterranean in Dublin. Great food, however, after being the only person in there multiple times my orders takes over 30-40 mins long. I usually wait and ask why my order is taking long but this time I asked for a refund saw multiple people who came after me and ordered at the register get theirs before me. I was given all the excuses from phone orders , uber eats orders. I was order #5 and saw 7 and 8 leave right when I asked it was taking long. Excuses and long waits. What a yummy meals we had at Yafa Hummus. We ordered take-out and everything was packed neatly, eco-responsibly, and correctly. We ordered falafel sliders which were so delicious that I wish I had ordered more than 3. We ordered a side of Baba Ghanoush which was good but a bit garlicky. My second visit about half a year later and saw that they also opened a location in Livermore. Service was great - they made the chicken shawarma wrap and back home styled chicken shawarma in about 5-7 mins! The menu has expanded and now there's even a beef shawarma option available. Last time I couldn't tell which item I liked more (between the back home styled and wrap), but I think because of the veggies and condiments in the wrap, my brother and I prefer the wrap since there is more flavor. I also appreciate that the wrap is slightly grilled for added texture. A really solid place for shawarma! read more

Service is good and the staff is very friendly. I really wish the portions and how much food you get for what you pay is improved. If you get the bowl, it's not filling for one person. You don't even get a piece of pita bread to go with it, you have to pay extra for that when your bowl is already $16. I got the chicken bowl and the chicken was chopped up really thinly and sprinkled on my bowl, there was more hummus than chicken. The chicken was also dry and overcooked from being sliced so thin. The base of rice is the thickest layer in the food. The gyro was a single gryo, again no rice or sides and it was also $16. When I think of Mediterranean food, I always imagine large portions and that's just not the case here. read more

It is with a heavy heart, and only after much soul searching and reflection over several days, that I find myself leaving a review for Yafa. (I say that because I liked the people there but my review is pretty rough). Long story short, everything about this place is great -- except for the food, which is somewhere between way below average and bad. So, kind of a big exception. I am no stranger to middle eastern food, nor am I a foodie or a snob when it comes to restaurants. I love me some fast casual. I eat way too much Chipotle, and Panera for that matter. The reviews for this place, I think we can all agree, are stellar. I was psyched to try it while visiting the area. Everything about the non-food experience of this place was fabulous. You walk in, it looks nice, and it's clean, well-maintained, and attractive. The staff is great and friendly. I think the gentleman I ordered from, despite looking pretty young, had some kind of ownership stake in the business because he asked owner-type questions but in a very friendly way ("how did you find us?"). My companion was less familiar with the basic dishes and the guy was very genuinely helpful and patient and cool about explaining and making recommendations. Folks, the food just wasn't good. We both got bowls, though I also got a side of falafel and ended up with pita to dip. My bowl had chicken. There was hummus and baba involved. The meat was dry and overcooked. My companion complained of excess salt in everything. The hummus was fine, but unremarkable. Same for the falafel. The greens were kind of sad looking. Everything tasted bland, salty, and not particularly fresh in terms of quality of ingredients. The only thing I ate that I thought was average or above was the pita -- it was good. I wanted to like this place. It feels to me like a business school case study where someone very entrepreneurial totally crushed at building a model of a very successful franchise but skimped on the most important part -- does the food taste good? Their marketing, presentation, staff, etc. are all fantastic. I acknowledge my criticism of the food quality puts me in the minority on these reviews. I only decided to write this review because I feel pretty strongly about it. I dunno if these reviewers are folks who don't eat this kind of food regularly or what, but it's REMARKABLE how bad it was given the ratings. Yafa Hummus is the perfect combination of very consistent, super tasty food and friendly, engaging employees. The cuisine is simple and wonderful, made from three generations of family recipes. The bowls and wraps are all great, and completely customizable, but the star of the show is the lentil soup, imho. It's crazy good. I LOVE Yafa Hummus and I go all the time! I seriously can't believe I haven't written a review for them yet. Yafa Hummus has delicious and fresh Mediterranean food. I usually order on GrubHub to save time (and pick it up at the restaurant) but if you go to the restaurant and order there, you will get your food quickly. Most of the food is already made and just needs to be put together. The workers are all super friendly and helpful! As for the food, my order depends on my mood. I usually go back and forth between creating my own wrap or my own bowl (I put the same ingredients on both items). The food is always fresh and delicious. I said this before, but it's so true! They are also very consistent. I like that this restaurant is more authentic than many Mediterranean restaurants. You also get big portions for your meal, especially with the bowls. One of my favorite items on the menu is their hummus and I know that they take pride in their hummus. It is probably the best hummus that I have ever had and if you are a hummus lover like me, you may just need to order extra hummus and pita on the side. Walked by this place once just when it was closing and I was so excited to come there and try the hummus. In my mind I was already hoping that this would be my go to place when I am in town and places with 'hummus' in their name create a high expectation that the hummus would be spectacular. Most Israeli people, myself included, have a very well defined view of how they like their hummus and what a good hummus should be. I was invited to try this place and it did not disappoint. Since it was for an event we got to try everything on the menu and I truly enjoyed all the dishes. Fiance and I tried this place since we were in the Dublin area after hanging with friends; and it did not disappoint! Honestly I don't know how the Chipotle next door even stays in business because this place is super good. The two of us split a small lentil soup, a build your own bowl (hummus base, gyro meat, sides of rice and babaganoush), and a chicken shawarma burrito. Pros: - everything felt covid-safe for takeout - all staff were wearing gloves and masks, they had hand sanitizer available, people stood socially distanced for the most part. There were some tables inside that people sat at while they waited for food that aren't cleaned, but sit at your own risk. - EXCELLENT FOOD - the chicken shawarma was a bit on the spicy side for me but it was still delicious, the lentil soup was exactly how I felt like it should taste, and the gyro bowl was great!
