I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen ($18) and it was made in about 15 minutes. The broth was very savory and had good spice to it. The egg was just slightly poached a bit too long, but was braised and seasoned fantastic. The pork was also very delicious, great flavor and texture. The staff were very friendly and the vibes inside was quite good. I really enjoyed my lunch here and would come back again! Food(50%): 8.0 Staff/service(25%): 8.0 Value(25%): 7.0 Overall: 7.8/10

Start with the interior. It was good and welcoming, and bright. It was dinner time, but there were almost no customers in the restaurant. Service, young women with amazing smiles make my dinner so enjoyable. Finally food, The first impression was pretty good, but food wasn't their strong point. I've been visiting the Nova area to find a good Japanese restaurant, but this one is lower than average to be honest. Sushi rice was undercooked and hard, which kills good quality sushi. In my opinion, this is the most crucial aspect for Japanese restaurants. The arrangement was okay, but they knew how to prepare the fish, but the quality was not good. We all experience inflation and shrinkage, but you should choose quality seafood. For about $30 per dish and fish, I'd rather go to a sushi buffet near me that costs $27 per person. I might give it another shot and see how it goes.

Yaki sushi is a small but great location for solid sushi. I usually judge sushi places by their chirashi bowl and was pleasantly surprised by the balance of fish, the presentation, and freshness of options. The pickles really gave it an extra flavor too. My husband got the tuna set. The cuts on the tuna were okay -- nothing phenomenal but pretty solid for a neighborhood sushi place. The spicy tuna rolls were pretty average but I could appreciate the little bits of cucumber added to the roll. Overall, good destination with solid service. I'd be back if I'm in the area.

Highly recommend the hamachi jalapeño roll if you want something with a bit of a kick in it. Spicy salmon roll is a classic. Rainbow roll is super photogenic. Scallop nigiri was good, but the scallop could have been a bit more fresh. Impressed by both taste and presentation. Affordable sushi prices, great service, cute interior.

We stopped in around 5PM for dinner. The restaurant was empty but seemed to be clean. The food was mediocre -- not bad, but nothing memorable especially for the price. We felt it was overpriced for the quality/taste. We ordered chicken karagee, hibachi scallops & steak, and hibachi chicken & steak. We would not recommend ordering scallops here. On the plus side, the service was friendly and quick. Everyone we interacted with was also very kid friendly.

On a work trip and got to try this spot with friends. It is a beautiful and quaint restaurant, the servers were accommodating (I took forever to order), and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the sushi & sashimi combo, toro, and uni. Everything was perfect, until I got to the uni. Maybe I waited too long to eat it, since it was my last piece, but it didn't taste right....almost bad. All in all, I can see why this place is popular and it definitely got busy while we were there. I look forward to another visit.

The food here is amazing! The ambiance is great! The service was great too. I wish there was an option on the sushi menu to allow the diners to create their own concoctions. In their defense I didn't ask if they would accommodate a diner to create a sushi roll on the fly. 2 thumbs up for this place. We will be back for sure!!

If you're in the area. I'd check out Yaki Sushi. I've been here twice and the service is always pretty good. Our waters are never empty since they are great about refilling and topping off our beverages. Depending on the day, the wait may be longer for getting your orders out. I was informed that the sushi chefs are spectacular when it comes to attention to detail (ex - they make sure that each piece of fish is cut properly), which may result to waiting in nigiri/sashimi orders; however, the fish seems to be of higher quality. Overall, I recommend Yaki Sushi.

Pretty good sushi for the price! They also have more than just sushi if sushi isn't what you're feeling! The customer service was great and very attentive. Great prices, high quality sushi! I was hesitant to order takeout from here initially because any place that has food other than sushi (like ramen here), I think it will not be as good. But I was wrong to suspect that! The fish is super fresh, and it has the best prices in the Chantilly/Herndon area I can find. I didn't eat inside but the place looked very comfortable, modern, and well decorated. It said 25 minutes for pickup online, but I got there in 15 and it was ready.

The food is always amazing every time I come. I have tried everything, from the hibachi to salmon lover. I usually don't like sushi with too much rice but they have the perfect proportion. I love the warm atmosphere inside and it is well decorated. The service is great and the workers have always been so kind. It seems like a good restaurant for families, couples, or friends.

Yaki Sushi will be my go to place for sushi and ramen as I live very close by. The spot is cozy, inviting, and would be great for date night. At the start, we had a bottle of Wasuremono sake while waiting for our friend to arrive. The chicken Karaage was flavorful, and most importantly crispy. A+ The Tornado Shrimp was yummy. B+ Sushi Deluxe was fresh with a diverse varieties of fish, squid & etc. A The BEST was the Tonkotsu Ramen, it had a smoky pork broth that was slurp worthy for this ramen lover. BY FAR - the best customer service I've ever received! I told the manager/owner I was pregnant and couldn't partake in trying the yummy sake she recommended to my husband or the sushi and she brought me a complimentary watermelon. I really wanted to like this place and hoped it'd be my new spot, but unfortunately I can't say this is the case. The sushi is on the pricier side for what it is, which is fine if what you are served is worth it but it was not, the fish was not cold, it was luke warm and just not flavorful. It did not taste as fresh as other sushi restaurants and was missing the richness I have come to expect from good quality fatty fish. The staff is friendly and the decor is cute but not worth the price. The chairs are not the comfiest. read more

Hands down the best sushi in the area. The fish is fresh, the rolls are creative and tasty, and the service is so friendly! First experience at this sushi restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Very good quality fish. Tuna was deep in color and fresh. Salmon fatty enough to make your tongue sense the freshness... no smell. Rolls a healthy size. A little higher in price than some others nearby, but worth the extra few points. And the staff was attentive and pleasant. This place is a winner. Try it. read more

A perfect dining experience... even with two little ones. We were welcomed with genuine smiles and true hospitality. Decor is bright, light, modern, and clean. Food is fresh, flavorful, and well portioned. Drinks are generously poured and plentiful with full cans of sodas and beers. We were sadly disappointed here, the service was good, but the food quality just was not. We had sushi and ramen and both missed the mark by miles. The ramen was very "thin" , noodles were not completely cooked and hard. The sushi was "fishy" and had food coloring added. In short we won't be back. read more

Holy wow, this place is amazing. Not only is the inside visually appealing, the sushi is too. Quick service, the waitstaff is extremely polite. This has become our new favorite hibachi place. Fresh food, super friendly staff, and most importantly they listen and take allergies seriously. The inside is new, clean and bright unlike many hibachi places near us. When i mentioned a egg allergies they called me back to inform me that several of the sauces have egg in them. Decided to give this place a try and this was not worth it. If you want to spend $20-$30 on good hibachi, save your money and don't come here. Chicken was the size size of little pebbles, shrimp and steak was way undercooked. Rice tasted like trash. You're better off going to Akasaka or Sumo. read more

I went to this new restaurant with a small group and found everything about it to be a great dining experience. The steak and scallops hibachi was perfectly cooked, and the tempura light and delicate. Friends at the table all enjoyed their various meals from salmon to sushi rolls with equal pleasure. The food is beautifully presented with that little something extra to make it feel truly special. The atmosphere is modern and bright. This is definitely a great new restaurant and is sure to be a local hot spot once the word gets out! read more

I never leave reviews but felt compelled to for this restaurant. My wife and I have been 3 times in the past two weeks since stumbling upon this little gem. It is the best sushi in the South Riding/Chantilly area and it's not even close. The quality of the fish is superb and their roles are creative and delicious. Also possibly the best gyoza I've ever had. The owner is extremely nice and I couldn't recommend trying it more. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed! read more

We ordered: Strawberry matcha latte 3/5 Passion fruit matcha latte 3/5 Fluffy strawberry pancakes 3/5 Karrage onigiri 5/5 Salmon onigiri 2/5 Beef curry onigiri 4/5 The pancakes were fairly good, but there were big chunks with only egg whites in the middle. Not sure what happened, but our pancakes tasted more like eggs than pancakes lol. Overall I'll go back and give it another shot, the pancakes were probably an off day. The onigiris were all pretty good. The matchas were great flavors but not quality grade. The ambiance is casual and there's tons of cute anime art on the wall.

Instead of appreciating it, the server questioned the amount and displayed a poor attitude. Customer service like this is completely unacceptable. I would never go back here. Save your money and choose a place that values its customers!!!

The coffee just doesn't have the same flavor or quality it used to. Even the 8 oz cappuccino tastes much more like steamed milk than espresso, and the rich, bold flavor that made me love this place seems to be missing. I'm not sure if it's the beans, the roasting, or the way the drinks are being prepared now, but I genuinely hope the owners take a fresh look at it. We both really enjoyed the burgers and I was surprised by the sliders. Most sliders don't fill me and I feel it's always missing something. These mini burgers were super filling and felt like I didn't have to miss eating a big burger. We both enjoyed our sides. I think my significant other heated up the fries later in the evening and said it was still pretty good. I myself reheated my one mini burger I had left and it still tasted like I just got it recently. Hoping to visit again and try more items when I can.

I got the spicy maki combo and the monster shrimp roll. The spicy maki combo had spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy California roll. And it was actually spicy! Most sushi places I've gone to when it says spicy it's not spicy, but this one you can taste it in there. I really liked the monster shrimp roll, it had shrimp tempura in it and the sauces on top were so good! I ordered online through their website which was very easy and convenient to use. When I showed up I told the hostess my name and my order was ready. The inside looked very nice and clean. I will say it's a bit on the expensive side, I mean it is sushi, but it was worth it for me because the taste was very good. read more

The food was absolutely incredible! Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The attention to detail in each dish was impressive, from the perfect seasoning to the beautifully plated presentation. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the balance of flavors was just right. Amazing food . Great service and friendly staff. The tempura was simply amazing and it didn't have that oily taste, in other words super fresh. There sushi was very fresh and delicious especially the Toro. There hibachi was delicious .My steak was cooked perfectly and the scallops were fresh.
