Was in town to meet up with a friend for lunch and he recommended Yakiniku Like (he's been many times and it was my first time). The parking in front is a little tricky, maybe 10 spaces but very limited. We almost gave up and went to another place but we drove down Young street and found street parking. Walked in and no line, got seated right away. Menu and water brought to us as we sat down. Didn't really need the menu as my friend already recommended the $9.99 monthly special. I had looked over the menu the night before and wondered if I need to level up to the $15.99 one but my friend who has a much better appetite than I do said I think the $9.99 one should do. Placed our order and it took a little bit to come out but not very much. Our burner went out a couple times but our waiter figured out there wasn't enough air flow and everything was fine. Definitely glad I didn't go for the $15.99 one as I was quite full after the meal. Unlimited rice for those who want/need it. I was told that each month the "second" meat is changed but the Kalbi remains the same. Guess we had good timing as the restaurant was full when we left. Will definitely be back with the fam.
Okay. This visit was as good as the first visit. Sat me and took my order right away. Miso soup was good. Not watery. As usual.. they took my order and wanted the tip in advance. Told the server about my bad experience from the last two visits and would leave a cash tip when I'm done. He said the. Tip needed to be paid with the bill, and he would insure that I would experience excellence this time. Yes, this visit was excellent. I hope I don't have to mention this everytime I visit. He also showed me how to turn down the fire, but preferred that I ask one of the servers. Next time if they forget me or my order, to bring it to their attention right away. I shouldn't have to be watching to make sure I wasn't forgotten.
I understand the hype of Yakiniku Like! When I went here to have dinner with my friend we both got one of the monthly specials and it was a good amount of food for the price! The set we ordered came with some sort of thinly sliced beef and chicken, and I liked all the sides- it made the meal more filling. They also bring your order out really fast! The meat was pretty good quality and I appreciated that the portion was just right without having to worry about getting your money's worth like at an AYCE bbq spot. This place is definitely worth checking out for your Yakiniku fix!
When they first opened I LOOOVEEEED this place, like I talked it up to everyone I knew. It's still a great place to get yakiniku and save a bit (depending on how hungry you are) and I always leave here feeling light, rather than most bbq places where I feel heavy. But now.... I don't think I'll be going as often. They only have sesame dressing now, which is the one they added after their opening. I can't remember what the previous one was, but I much prefer that one over the sesame. Now I don't even touch the salad. :/ At least I still like their kimchi. I'm sitting here writing this out as I wait forever for my food to cook, because our grill plate is lopsided. When we asked an employee why/if they can fix that, they said it was to help the fire breathe. That's great and all but now I'm taking 3x as long to eat. Even my grandma is already finished! So beware, if you order meat that isn't that fatty, a lopsided grill will greatly extend your meal time. Next time I'll ask to be seated elsewhere if I see a lopsided grill lol.
Late lunch with coworkers and this long awaited visit was met with high marks! Had to work an event downtown and were on the hunt for a place that was still open for lunch well past two pm. Spotted this place (which we'd been meaning to visit) and were happy to see they don't close between lunch and dinner! It was well laid out with tables, a small grill to share, and sauce bottles between tables to share (they try to bring you new bottles between guests, as they tend to get sticky between uses). They will take down menu screens between the conjoined aisle if you have a group larger than two. Otherwise, there are four-top (or more) seating areas against the walls, where two guests are on cushioned stools and the other two are seated on the cushioned bench. From the entrance, there are seating areas on the left and right. There was a party on the right side, so I initially rated the noise level as loud. However, on the left where we were seated, even as guests kept on arriving (for even later lunches or early dinners), it was nice and quiet! The initial thrill was the February special, which the gals ordered - ONLY $9.95 for 150 gms kalbi and a free serving of chicken teriyaki; unlimited rice (I never finish mine at other meals, but this time, I ate a tad more than one big bowl!), a well filled miso soup with goodies in it, green salad (with cukes and grape tomatoes, and a choice of yuzu or sesame dressing-we loved the sesame - and later, another guest said the Yuzu was also great on the meat-so we'll ask for that next time!); and a bowl of Kim Chee! The boss ordered the $15.95 special, with 200 gms kalbi and 100 gms chicken teriyaki and the same sides we were offered in the $9.95 set. Each of us ate our entire servings, and shared the boss's "one more free rice bowl", congratulating ourselves on such a great choice to visit, with guarantees that we're coming back for our birthday lunches! (Okay, I did give some of my food to the boss, because I was quite full!) The seasonings/ sauces included a lemon juice, garlic soy, spicy sweet, and salt and pepper. Boss tried them all, my co worker also enjoyed the salt and pepper, and I loved the garlic soy and spicy sweet sauces. And yes, I poured the garlic soy sauce on my rice, and with my meats, resulting in my unusual rice bowl wipeout. They do have beverages and desserts, see the fun menu! Dinner must be awesome-we've seen the line out the door after work! Oh, and they even have a curry sauce add on due $2.50. Service is truly attentive with frequent water refills and check ins, too! Heard the tonkotsu garlic ramen is also good (when we went back to the office to tell others of the great experience, LOL they'd already been there several times)! Restroom keys are at the entrance, restrooms are out the door to the left, there were two stalls in the women's rr, which was bright and clean. Orders are taken and payment is made via a handheld device prior to dining. Easy peasy, and Mahalo to the boss for treating us after our very successful, but long day at the event downtown! See the pics, and we're already planning our return!
Dinner on a budget? Yakiniku Like is where to go! Genuinely surprised at how reasonable the prices are for some of the sets here. I found it really interesting that you pay for your food first to order and then they bring it to you. Service was quick, quality of the meats was pretty good, and they have a good array of sauces to choose from on the side. There's a small parking lot out front but I believe it shares the lot with the massage place and Domino's next door. There's street parking around the area as well. I liked that since you paid first, it's a quick exit to get out after you're full hehe
Here's a new place to try! New and different from Gen's and Sikdorak. It's off the corner of Keeamoku and Young Street. You can't miss it. Dining is like what you see in Japan where you sit and you're separated by cut off sections. Can't describe it but it's pretty cool. We were welcomed and serviced by Angelo who was so nice and friendly. The ordering of food is easy... scan q card it's by sets, Ala carte and separates and pay by card. They don't take cash. Once paid then the order goes in and quick your served. Wow! It's so cool. You can order more if you'd like but then have to pay by card again which we didn't mind. Then once you're done you can leave. This place is great for date night and girls night out.
I love this place!! Very affordable for the same price you would pay for a decent platelunch you could get a great yakinuku meal and if you get their special for $9.95 (different special each month) even with tip it would be cheaper than a plate lunch plus sometimes its fun to cook and eat. The staff is always on point and mostly young adults which is refreshing to see the younger working with a great service attitude. I always enjoy coming here. The only issue is parking is always mento but cant have everything but its all good!!
A friend recommended this great yakiniku place on Keeaumoku close to Beretania. We went there ahead of opening time and there was already a line before 11:00 a.m. That was a sure sign. Parking is limited so try to park around the area or carpool. We ordered the mega special currently on sale. It came with ban chan, excellent quality rice and incredible beef and pork belly cuts. You grill it yourself and all the sauces are killer good! You order off of the the menu link from the QR code on the table. Everything is promptly brought to your table and you're set to grill! If you don't make time to stand in line to go here, you will be missing out on not only really good yakiniku but also a great deal!!
It was our first time here and the staffs were all so nice. Oh my gosh! The MEAT was soooo good and of great quality. Very juicy and soft regardless of it you got it with or without sauce. We were lucky to come in during their "February Specials" because the portion was great size and value! We ordered 5 sets for 4 people haha (almost 6 if we count all the small additional items) The atmosphere was nicer than I imagined. It was nicely lit and not too bright, and the interior was mostly black colored with some wood. Very cozy yet it has a lively ambience. Casual yet feels fancy. PS: Daniel was so awesome and he let us try 2 orders of meat on the house. This small gesture sealed the deal for us to come back again with more people. Thank you so much!
This is one of the newer yakiniku restaurants on Keeaumoku that's located in the old Green Papaya (and iykyk, old Champions). Parking is limited with a very small lot but there is street parking and nearby options if needed. There's no reservation system; you walk in, write your name, party size, and wait. When we arrived, there was no one at the front, no greeting. Eventually, a server came by, checked the list and called our party. Once seated, there was no explanation on how this restaurant operates. No welcome, no "have you dined with us before", nothing. We had to observe the table next to us to figure it out. Everything is done digitally; you scan a QR code, order on your phone, and pay immediately on your phone (note: they don't take cash). The biggest issue was the grill. Ours kept turning off and instead of moving us, staff repeatedly kept coming back just to turn it on. At one point, they gave up and said they'll wait till the food comes to turn it on and the grease from the meat will keep the fire going. As for the food, prices are cheap for yakiniku, and you get what you pay for. I ordered the January special ($9.95). While the photo made it look generous, the portions were small, like 3 pieces of teriyaki chicken and very thin sliced kalbi, small. The meat quality was decent, but the small portions and unreliable grill made the experience unenjoyable. We also found ourselves stressing about making sure the chicken was thoroughly cooked. Service was very minimal and lacked warmth. No real check-ins, no asking if we needed anything, and some staff seemed annoyed when issues came up. The main positive is the ambiance: the restaurant is clean, modern, and visually appealing. This restaurant seemed to be designed for a fast turnover rather than a relaxed sit-down meal. I would only recommend it if you're on a budget, want minimal interaction, and need a quick yakiniku fix.
Came here to check out the advertised April special. Wow! What a deal! It's located on the corner of Young and Ke'eaumoku in a small strip of businesses where Pizza Hut and a massage place are. We went pretty early around 11:30- so we thought! The dining area was almost full and I saw a friend there already eating and he said he came BEFORE the 11am opening and there were people already waiting. He took the last parking space. This is the only thing about this place. Parking lot is limited. You enter on Young St into the lot. Most likely you'll end up parking on the street. We found spaces on Young near the Dept of Agriculture building. Aside from the parking, it has good food at affordable prices. The April special came with miso soup (really good, not watery or super salty), salad, rice and pieces of pork belly and beef slices. You can't even get a plate lunch for that price. There is a larger set for $15 that has more meat for bigger eaters as well as ala carte options which you can make into a meal for $5 extra. I really liked that you can order the meat without the marinade sauce. There are sauces on the side for you to use. You order,pay and tip on the Toast app QR with your phone so when you're done you just leave. The food came out pretty fast considering the place was hopping. Seating was a long counter separated by hanging plastic dividers which can be removed for larger groups. I saw that there were tables for 4 in the back. I'm thinking it might be hard for very large groups. Bonus- Japanese style, there's a basket near your seat to stash your bag/purse! Also I noted that the special didn't say specific times so I'm assuming it's good for dinner too. Left satisfied !
One of the best value restaurants in the area! I came here on a Thursday at 5PM, there was only one customer but maybe three families came after us. Our server Kenya was great, she was very helpful and sweet. We had harami, galbi short rib, cheese corn. The sides were very satisfying, we were recommended the yuzu dressing. Wow ... I can't believe I passed this place many times and only now discovered it ! But I'm glad I did because now i have another favorite lunch spot to go ! Parking kind of tight but we managed to find the last spot otherwise we would have to find on street parking and pay . So I would advise to come early to get the free parking spots. Once inside we were nicely greeted and wow .. very nice and clean ..and quite a big area inside. The server explained to us the specials and other options they had to offer . And wow .. found the prices sooo reasonable! And I like the idea of using your cell phone to capture the QR code to get their menu and order your meal. Mainly because if you're with friends.. don't have to tell the server separate checks or sometimes they only allow two separate checks . So this was quite convenient. The special of the month was only $9.99 . It was filling enough for lunch. There was also a bigger portion for $15.99 too which was also a good deal . The meats were very tasty with or without the extra sauce they provided. You could also order add ons to your meal ex: edamame ... zucchini.. sausages or better cuts of meats etc. Another plus was .. the grill was smokeless ... I mean there was no smoke coming out and we didn't smell all smoky like how you normally would smell at a yakiniku place ! Was such an enjoyable lunch ... we need to return soon .. read more

The February set is such a great deal! Cheap beer and great quality meat. It's great how it comes in a set (miso, salad, rice, etc). The workers were very kind and chatted with us a bit about what we do on our free time. Also very clean! read more
MLK Monday and we wanted to try something new with the kids. Kbbq is always on the top of our list. As a large family with hangry teens, cranky kids, we were a little leery about trying something "internet famous". To our surprise the wait for a table of 8 was less than 20 minutes! We sat down and was able to immediately order with the QR code. It is a nice system because ordering and paying were done in one swoop. Food came out shortly after. We got a few of their $9.95 specials, and one with additional ramen. $2curry? Yes please! The meat were thin but we found it filling and perfect lunch portions. I especially enjoyed the side of kimchi, salad and miso soup. Great place to hangout, value can't be beat. Definitely recommend! read more

Yakiniku Like's motto is "tasty, quick, and value," and it absolutely delivers on all three... as long as you can get a seat. It's quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite, and it's easy to see why. The value here is honestly absurd for the quality of food you receive. The meats are flavorful, portions are satisfying, and the overall experience feels like you're getting way more than what you paid for. Because of that popularity, the "quick" part of their motto has started to fade a bit during busy hours. Just something to keep in mind. The place fills up fast! Parking is also something to plan for. The strip mall only has about 11 stalls shared with Pizza Hut and a massage shop, so it can get tight. That said, there's plenty of street parking nearby, so just park a little farther and walk over. Once you're seated, the experience is smooth and modern. Ordering is completely digital, so you can browse the menu and place orders right away without waiting. The staff are friendly and efficient, and food comes out quickly once the order is in. If you're looking for great yakiniku at an unbeatable price, this place absolutely delivers. 5 out of 5 all day long. Highly recommended. read more
I've been to Yakiniku Like two times this past August and I absolutely loved it each time. I was a bit wary about the monthly special being ~$10 for miso soup, salad, rice, and meat you grill yourself because it seemed too good to be true. I thought that maybe it was priced that way because the portions are super small and it would entice people to order a lot more on the side. ...and? I was proven wrong. The August 2025 special was the Kalbi Short Plate which has about 200g of meat, and honestly fills me up very easily. It gives me that sense of satisfaction without feeling too hungry or too full afterwards. The portion is made just right. The service is much faster than I expected, especially since I was used to slower service at AYCE Korean bbq places, and it felt much cleaner compared to those AYCE places. In fact, I think the overall experience is better than going to an AYCE bbq place unless you're SUPER hungry. I just can't get over the fact that the prices at Yakiniku Like don't hurt my wallet and the quality of the food is amazing. Just a small note though: I would not recommend the cheesy corn because it tastes exactly like mac and cheese with corn substituting the pasta. I was expecting something more like Korean corn cheese but, this definitely does not sway my opinion of Yakiniku Like as a whole! I'll definitely come back here again. read more

Best deal in Honolulu for Yakiniku lunch set ! Ordered the lunch set Musuji Top blade and Kalbi Short plate combination. Comes with kimchi, salad with choice of Yuzu or Sesame dressing and Miso soup. For $9.95 this is an awesome deal! Check them out to get this price for the rest of September. We were seated right away in their booth. It was our first time and ordered directly from our phones. Easy and convenient, felt like I was back in Japan. Music playing was enjoyable and relatable for all ages. We'll be back again ! read more

Been here a couple of times and it's been a good deal when you get their $10 special. Both times we luckily didn't have to wait but by the time we left there was a bunch of people waiting outside. You order from a QR code and pay before they bring you the food. Waiting for the food is what takes kinda long. The food was really good and what even made it better was how reasonably priced it is. The meats are super soft. Service is ok and it can get a little noisy in the space. Will definitely be back again for their special. read more
My 10 yr old son and I tried this restaurant on a Thursday night. I feel like this is a wonderful option for us! He wanted yakiniku and eats the meat and rice and we live fairly close by! We didnt have to wait at all to be seated. Our waiter informed us that we must order and pay first then are able to enjoy. We tried the February $9.99 set which had kalbi and chicken to see how much food that would be and see how quick everything would come out. It was a perfect amount for each of us! He added on beef tongue just because that is a favorite grilled meat. We enjoyed the dipping sauces but I still ordered 1 sesame and salt sauce which was $1. *see my photos for the bigger $15.99 February special option. I'd been wanting to try this place ever since I heard it was the holy grail of "good food for a good price." And honestly? Not bad at all. They've got a July special going for just $9.99--at that price, you really can't complain... unless you just really love complaining. I ordered the July special for my dad because his exact words were, "Get the cheapest one." Fair enough. I wasn't that hungry, so I got the Kalbi set for $9.95 (yes, cheaper than the special by 5 cents--plot twist). As for my mom... she's the high-maintenance one of the bunch, so naturally I got her the premium set for around $23.95. All the sets come with miso soup, salad, rice, and kimcheeee, which is a nice touch. Oh--and you pay before you eat, which threw me off a bit. It's giving: "Trust issues, but make it polite." Food-wise, my set was decent, Dad was happy, and Mom love hers. Overall, if you're looking for something quick, easy, and won't destroy your bank account, I'd recommend it. Service was awesome too--friendly, fast, and didn't judge me for ordering three totally different sets for one table. read more
Absolutely love how it's simple and straight to the point; everything is done through your phone -- scan the QR code, order, and pay! Very quick and efficient, and to top it off, the food is actually good and affordable! They have monthly specials for less than $10 and it's honestly such a perfect portion for me without feeling so stuffed. They have a vent in the grill so it doesn't get too smokey which is a huge plus, but the fire on the grill does get out of control so be careful when cooking! They don't have a huge parking lot so might have to find street parking on the sides but I think it's pretty worth it for those monthly specials read more
$9.99 for some good tasting yakiniku ...what a deal! Went there yesterday when my mother in-law suggested it and sure glad we did! A great deal - the grand re-opening special for $9.99 that came with 2 kinds of meat (100 grams...or about 3 1/2 ounces), and bowl of rice, miso soup, kim chee, and some green salad. There were 3 kinds of sauces on the table to use. So within a few minutes after scanning the QR code, placing the order and paying up front, the food came. The table burner was already on, so we could immediately start grilling! Meat was tasty and the sauces also were good! Nor sure how much longer they will offer this special, but will keep this place in mind even when they start charging their regular prices! read more

Wow! This place is amazing. The mega set special for March included kalbi, sirloin, rice, miso soup, and kimchi for $15.95! The meat was so flavorful and juicy. We also got other meat like pork belly, harami, and beef tongue and portion was generous! As for the servers, they were kind enough to switch something we ordered by mistake. Excellent customer service! I would definitely recommend eating here! I am totally coming back. read more

This spot was recommended to me by a frequent customer. Great place and super affordable. It's convenient in the sense of being able to order and pay through the touch of your fingertips. We had someone that was not tech savvy who had a difficult time adjusting in which I feel like maybe a simpler option for these types of customers would be nice to have. The meal sets are just enough without the obligation of overeating like you would at an AYCE yakiniku place. Would love for this restaurant to make its way to the west side because traveling into town is a little out of the way for my family and I. read more

Good value for really good food. We got the July $9.99 special set and Beef Lovers set for $19.95 They also had curry on the side that was mild and my mom really liked it. There's also alcohol on the menu. Service was quick and easy. You can order through your phone and pay immediately. It was helpful that the menu was posted on the wall beside us. The fire on the bbq grill was pretty good and the fan was on the side so you won't leave smelling like bbq. The place was also really clean! Will come back again for sure. Parking was a little tight but we got lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant. It is located on Ke'eaumoku, beside Dominos Pizza. read more
Pleasantly surprised with my lunch today at this new spot. Service was great. Server was friendly and explained the ordering process. We were able to order everything through our phones. Super easy. We got with the July lunch special, $9.99 such a good deal!! Food came out fast and looked exactly like the menu photos. It is very cheap for a lunch meal set, but don't expect to be full full... I left still a bit hungry but overall it's a good amount of food for lunch. The beef tongue was unfortunately very chewy and not enjoyable (we couldn't eat it at all, which is why I have to give this place four stars), but the other meats were decent. Not the highest quality cuts, but still satisfying for a casual lunch spot. The ginger soy sauce was maybe the best part when dipping your meats. For the price and overall taste of the food, I'd definitely come back. I left satisfied and almost everything (except the beef tongue) was yummy! read more

A last minute stop for lunch on a Saturday around noon... and there was NO wait! Win! Thankfully there was one parking stall left in their lot, otherwise we'd have to find street parking. The restaurant is fairly new so everything was very clean. I was impressed at how spacious it was inside. Service was very friendly and FAST. Menu and ordering easily done via QR code. There's also menus posted on the walls. I found it odd that with the QR code we had to create an account and pay for our order in advance before our order could go through. It also asks for you to leave a tip in advance, which I found unusual to do before even eating. Our party was 2 adults and 1 toddler. They have high chairs (thank goodness). We ordered the July special and Beef lovers set, added on an order of pork belly and Zuchini, and enjoyed an oolong iced tea (can) and Sapporo (bottle). Food was out in no time and food was cooked easily on the grill. Meats are thinly cut so they cook super fast (beware the risk for burnt meat lol). Our meals came complete with rice, miso soup, and kimchee. Dipping sauces on the table include garlic soy, sweet & spicy, lemon juice, and chili oil. It was pretty affordable for a quick yakiniku bite. Total bill $50. Definitely recommend! read more

Cheap. I totally get why this place is always crowded. For $9.95. You can eat yourself silly with two different trays of beef, a teeny salad, a small amount of cabbage kimchi, miso soup, free refills of rice and a bunch of different sauces to try. Sweet and sour, lemon juice, Spicy chili oil.... You walk in, get seated, order and pay via the QR code. Interaction with the wait staff is minimal. The food comes out relatively quickly and you're done in about 30 minutes or less. For $25 two people can leave with a full stomach. That is a rare accomplishment nowadays. Quality is OK but hey! You just paid $9.95. It's tasty, it's fast, and there's free parking out front. read more
We came by on a random day after seeing the promotion of their opening deal on Instagram. They have sufficient parking around and upon arrival, there was a slight wait but it was very fast, service so it moved quickly. It is quite straight forward, once you're seated, you're given water and you'd then order by scanning a QR code. They had a grand opening special for just $9.99. Although it has ended, they keep having new specials monthly. Check out their instagram @yakinikulike_hi , they're having one right now for July for $9.95! Another thing I really like is that the grill system is smokeless! So you don't smell like grill AT ALL afterwards, it's amazing and I wish more KBBQ or yakiniku places were like that. I definitely like... When I heard that there will be a Yakiniku Like here in Hawaii you know I was super excited as it's a chain in Japan and yes I've been to a few of them and it's always packed with all sorts of folks and was curious of how it would work here as it's located right on Keeaumoku and Young just a block from S Beretania and though they do have free parking it's quite small and shared with other tenants as well so during peak times can be a challenge. Walking in it's obvious it's brand new so it's nice and clean though I was disappointed that it's a shared space if you're dining alone or with just a couple of friends as it's known for a place that's priced friendly and for individual seating that's semi private with a divider that can be removed though yes they do have some larger table seating. When me and my friend arrived we were greeted and instantly directed where we are seating which is across from each other right between two others where they were pretty much done as one party left the other two girls remained after they were completely done with their meal and remained to chat throughout our meal as well...we could clearly hear their conversation and though didn't bother me at the start got a bit annoying as they just kept talking yet was done and had been done when we arrived that I said let's go cause I could barley think and converse with my friend as they were very chatty. Great price btw as they have monthly special of $9.95 (normally $15.95) which was a plate of Kalbi Short and Misuji Top Blade and is served with rice, kimchi, salad and miso soup. Awesome deal and everything is so tasty but there were just two sauces versus six in Japan you order using the QR code and you must pay first with the optional tip before they bring you your item is strange but is their current system. Nevertheless I did find some of my favorite items as we ordered the special and Corn Cheese which was fun as it's also put on the grill to warm up and we really enjoyed it. Yakiniku Like is a nice addition to the Honolulu area. Their prices are reasonable and the food was good. Their order process is a little unique. You order and pay before you get any of your food. If you want more, then you have to order and pay again. I wish they had a better process, but that's how it is. The staff seemed a little timid, but I'm sure with time they'll get better. Parking right in front, which was nice. If you're in the Keeaumoku St. area, give them a try. Aloooooooooha and Happy Eating. read more

I love coming here because their portion sizes are perfect for me, the food is delicious, the prices are amazing, and everything is simple. For these reasons, I would highly recommend this place. Note that this place is completely cashless. You scan a QR code, place your order, and pay, all before being served. It does get loud in the restaurant as there is a lot of movement, cooking and sometimes lots of people waiting in the foyer. Now, the reasons why I am often deterred from coming here. I tried this place when it first quietly opened. There were less people, no line, parking, and fast service. Fast forward to now, there are lots of people, lines, no parking, and slow service. The restaurant should (1) work on their waiting system, (2) assign one person to manage the lines when it is really busy, (3) find a location that has more parking or parking that doesn't require you to park and pay across the street. read more

Best deal in town! Hubby and I wander here once or twice a month. Lunch is unlimited rice 11a-4p, monthly specials $9.95 if you wanted a bigger set it's $15.95 plenty of food! Awesome deals. Come and get it, was yummy. Just don't overcook your meat!!! read more
Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... I saw this $9.95 deal... It's regularly $17.50 for rice, kimchi, miso soup, green salad, kalbi meat, and harami steak. I asked Donna if she wanted to go... sure! Yay! Located at the beginning of the strip of businesses with Massage Palace and Pizza Hut, Yakiniku Like is a chain restaurant, known for its affordability and efficiency. This Keeaumoku Street location is the first one in The USA. Other locations are in Hong Kong, Thailand, and Japan. We arrived a little before the opening time of 11am. There were a few people waiting in line in the sun. The rest of their party sat in their cars - waiting. That's actually smart because no reservations are taken and the free, shared parking lot isn't very big. Service is quick because you can order when you're ready. Scan the QR code on the table, look at the menu online, then pay and tip right there. (Note the small 2% kitchen service fee is included.) The customer is in control of everything. The only wait would be when the server brings the dishes to your table and turns the grill on and off. Our server could improve. She didn't face the protein on the plate towards the customer. She also reached across the table and over the heated grill to hand Donna her plate. That's dangerous because everything could have fallen... and someone could have gotten burned... Donna and I grilled quickly because the meats were thin. We used the various sauces that were on our table: house, spicy, and lemon. It was fun even though we sat across from each other, and next to strangers! We could hear their entire conversation. LOL! There was a partition between us and the party to my left. However, on my right, it was clear and open! Last thought: I wonder if there will be another special soon since this current one ends on April 15, 2025. read more
I've been seeing videos circulating on the internet about their $9.99 grand opening special. So I've decided to have a late lunch here with my cousins. Let me start off by saying, the portions are small. But being a small eater it didn't bother me. Also, you must order & pay (on your phone) before they deliver the food to your table. At first, it was upsetting that it was card only and that you would have to pay first. But after my experience, I feel like when you pay as you go, it offers a more smooth service throughout your visit, you're most likely not to over order and you won't waste food. The $9.99 special comes with kalbi short plate & harami accompanied with rice (unlimited till 4pm), miso soup, kimchi & a salad. I also ordered shishito peppers, pork belly, corn cheese and the green onion sauce. All of their meat items come in 50grams or 100grams. Honestly both are small portions. But I like how they offered it this way because im less likely to waste food and able to try a little bit of everything on the menu. Everything tasted great and they also offered a varieties of sauces on the tables. Service was really good! Our order always came out quickly. I wouldn't recommend this place for people with big appetites if you're looking to save money, but I do recommend this place for people who want a quick bite to eat. So excited that Yakiniku Like is in Oahu. I first tried it in Tokyo and am not disappointed. The food is priced really well - our party of 3 had our meals all costing $9.95 each. This restaurant is located on the corner of Keeaumoku and Young. They have parking, but it is limited. It is a cashless restaurant. You order everything and pay on your phone. The orders come out quickly and you cook the meat on a grill. I absolutely love that the smoke goes inside the grill, so you don't smell like you went to a yakiniku restaurant! The meals come with rice (free refill for lunch only), miso soup, salad and Kimchi. Extra kimchi costs $2 (Japan was free - bummer lol). Overall - our tummies were happy. You can't beat the price. We actually came here twice in a week! Definitely recommend. read more
2.5* Wish our experience was a 4*. The parking lot & restaurant were both fairly empty because we arrived at an off time, ~2:45pm. Glad we went during the Grand Opening Special. Would not pay $17.50 for the set because the meat was too fatty, lacked flavor & was sliced too thin; and the sides were mediocre. We are both not large eaters & were still hungry. We didn't place additional orders bc we had cash or card & see below. Annoying bc not disclosed / obvious: **Cash NOT accepted.** Although can tip with cash Order via QR code Pay & tip immediately upon ordering, BEFORE the food arrives To pay via credit card: Need to order with an employee using the clover handheld 2% kitchen fee - usually the kitchen staff is the highest paid among restaurant employees Be aware: Many of the seats are stools - no back & no cushion. Unless seated along the wall & there's space on the bench seat, will have to cook & eat wearing your bag or place on the floor (dirty & trip hazard). The restaurant caters to a specific customer & we are not it. Good: Staff was helpful & friendly; kept water filled. Their grand opening special was so good and worth it for $9.95. It came with kalbi and harami with rice, salad, miso soup and kimchi. The special is for this week only and maybe next week. They had three dipping sauces: soy garlic, lemon juice and sweet chili. Sweet chili was the winner. It wasn't spicy at all and had a nice flavor. They're trying out a new concept. You scan the QR code at the table and order what you want. You pay for it with a credit or debit card. Then, they bring the food to your table. I like this way better. When you're done eating you can just leave and don't have to wait to cash out. This place looks modern and immaculate. They did a great job with the renovations. read more

We came to take advantage of the new re-opening Kalbi Lovers Set for $9.99 and it definitely did not disappoint! We started with that set and the Triple Set that comes with 300g (100g of each type of meat) and ended up trying some a la carte items as well. Our favorite cut had to be the Kalbi Short Rib, sooo so tender! Each cut seemed fresh or freshly marinated. The service is great, all the staff seem well versed. I'm sure it was because it was my first time, but I felt a bit stiff as I wasn't sure what to expect. The atmosphere is relaxed as you're meant to pace your meal with a low fire. The only downside was that I felt seated far away from my partner. We like looking for places that we can have a quieter conversation together and the distance and other ambient noise made it a bit hard - but that's just personal preference! Definitely will be coming back to try again. If you're seeing this around June 2, they're running the promo I mentioned for a limited time. Go and try some good eats! read more
The food here was okay. The service was alright and the atmosphere here was mid. They do have an interesting way of how they operate. They have very little service, and your order and pay off of a QR code and it's pretty much you pay and order as you go. All in all they did have an incredible November special but if I'm being honest if it wasn't for that special I'm not to sure if I'd comeback. Not too bad of a yakiniku place but just be prepared service, ordering and paying is not like your normal restaurant dine in experience. read more
