I've eaten there a couple of times. and I've taken a couple of people there to eat. and every time we would ask for spicy mayonnaise or spicy Ponsou sauce or Ginger they would never charge us,like all the other sushi restaurants in the area. but now they turned really cheap and they're trying to charge a dollar extra for any kind of sauce or ginger they also just changed their prices and gave no warning. when I asked for a new menu to go. they said they had none, so all I had to do was base myself on the menu from two months ago. read more

Excited about another sushi option for Pearland, especially when we saw the unique rolls on the menu that was unlike what we've seen before. In addition, the food pics on here look beautifully presented, so it looked like care was put into the dishes. Our experience was not the best, (mainly dry overcooked kitchen items and crawfish subbed for lobster w/o communication), but we were not going to post on here, until we all ended up with terrible stomachaches that night and the next day. Yellowtail sashimi in the jalapeno sauce was delicious and cuts were generous. This and the house salad were our favorites. Ordered the Nabeyaki Udon for my toddler because she loves noodles and she ate that fine, however we found the shrimp tempura that went with it overcooked and dry. The chicken in the soup was very dry also, but we figured that's what happens with white meat chicken, so just didn't eat that part. Broth was good. Beef Negimaki presentation was beautiful, but again, very dry also; chewed on it for awhile and spit it out because it was too dry and tough. Perhaps a juicier cut could be used? We got two rolls, I believe the Furimayaki or something like that and the King Kong. King Kong ingredients listed sounded great, but the softshell crab and cucumber inside needed some flavor or sauce or seasoning to hold it together. The topper for the that roll was delicious, but we have a wished the inside was as tasty. Furimayaki roll had shrimp tempura inside and it was the same extreme dryness the one from the udon had, so it ruined the roll for us. Lastly, we got the Spicy Lobster appetizer because we were still hungry. It is a cold dish, almost frozen and as we mixed around, we didn't find any lobster and what looked to be frozen or canned gray crawfish. Asked the waitress about this - if there was actual lobster in the dish mixed with the crawfish anywhere and she said she have knowledge of ingredients of their dishes, so could not answer. Later heard her tell a colleague that the kitchen staff told her they ran out of lobster, so subbed. We believe this dish was the one that may have given us the stomachaches. Hoping our experience is rare and we caught them on a really off day.....and we continue reading positive things so maybe we can give it a second try to rectify this experience. read more

Was looking for a sushi spot after catching the new Scream movie. Found this one close to us and decided to check it out. It's a smaller place than what I've been to and was packed. The wait was like 30 mins for two but I'm thinking they were understaffed. We finally got a table and ordered a round of sake bombs, and a few rolls. The food wasn't bad but the vibe was weird lol it was like every group of people that were there were in a fight. We looked around the room and not one couple or group was laughing or having a good time. Even the couple directly next to us weren't talking and the wife was staring at us and our sake bombs. I know the restaurant can't control that but it was so strange, I had to mention. Food was good though! We ordered chicken and veggie tempura, unagi, salmon, chicken tempura, vegetable rolls, edamame, and chicken teriyaki with fried rice. I would say the sushi is where it's at, wasn't totally impressed with the chicken teriyaki. The ambiance is nice if you want to go with a group of friends/family or an intimate one on one outing. Loved their hibachi and specialty rolls options. I like having a jap restaurant so close to home however they are only getting 3 stars because every time I order to go they mess up my orders. I always get hibachi and ask for more broccoli and make sure to let them know I'm fine with extra charges. They charge extra but have failed twice to add extra. They give you the same amount as regular order, I know because I have ordered both at the same time. Also, the sauces are always missing, and to avoid this I make sure to mention don't forget the hibachi sauce because we know it doesn't taste the same without them. And of course, they do, every time. You might ask yourself why don't you check your order before leaving, and that is because I have two year old twin toddlers in the car so it's a quick grab and run. I struggle with the review on this one. I would say 3.5. Customer service was good. We ordered 5 things to try and 2 were extremely good - lucky roll and the sexy jalapeños - which were very sexy!. The king Kong and titanic were blah we didn't even finish them. And we had the spicy Kani salad and it came out completely dry but we requested for dressing and it was edible. The edamame was solid although it's really hard to mess that up. Figured maybe it was just the calamari but no. All 4 rolls were extremely dry and tasteless. We ordered takeout to take down to the beach for the evening, and my fiancé and I both agreed that it was the worst sushi we'd ever had. We also ordered 20 minutes in advance but had to sit there in the car another 20 for a pretty basic meal that was then horrible. We had lunch here yesterday. Husband got the steak and shrimp hibachi plate along with shrimp tempura as an appetizer. I got the Lucky Roll without the jalapeños and the gyoza as an appetizer. The gyoza was perfect! The lucky roll was good, shrimp tempura hand roll with lots of stuff on top. My husband wasn't a fan of his shrimp tempura appetizer due to the amount of "crunchies" as part of the batter. He ate all his hibachi except the vegetables so I can only assume it was good. My 6-year old will literally order two helpings of the gyoza, and we always get the edamame. 10/10 on the Salmon Tartar sushi bar appetizer; I was salivating the entire time and the presentation was beautiful. I'll have to get the picture next time. As for sushi, we went with the Ocean's Eleven House Special Roll. Absolutely delicious. For dessert, we've had the tempura cheesecake (yum) and the tempura ice cream (also yum). The service is excellent and the management very aware and accommodating. Some items we've ordered, but weren't totally amazed by were the harumaki and the yakitori from the appetizer menu. The flavors for them just weren't hitting the right spot for us.
