I dined in because it was mid afternoon and I was passing by. I ended up chatting it up with the wife and it was like I was dining with a friend. The fish was super fresh. I got only salmon in my poke bowl. They have house made ponzu, spicy Mayo, and teriyaki sauce. A no frills unassuming sushi spot in echo park. As the other reviews say, the fish here is surprisingly super fresh and the owner of the restaurant (and fellow restaurant goers) was super kind. It's hard to find a 5 star rated restaurant on Yelp, but I definitely think Yami Yaki deserves it. Just a disclaimer that this is a small mom and pop place, so don't expect a super fancy dining area. Parking is also small, but at least it's free! I got the tuna roll and the Philadelphia roll for dine in and both were amazing! Large portion of fish and the roll itself held together well. Rice to fish ratio was very nice. I hate places that give you mostly rice, just to have it fall apart as you pick it up.
