Finally dropped in for lunch on Friday. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait for a booth. We tried 3 different dishes and all were very good. The Southern fried chicken plate was good, with moist but crispy chicken. One of my companions had the House burger with fries and liked both. The big hit for me were the Vampire tacos my boyfriend chose. Those were extremely good. I coveted his plate. Next time... The music is a little too loud for casual conversation across a big booth table, but otherwise it was a great lunch visit. Went in for lunch with my husband this past weekend and it was really good, if you sign up for Yard House email club it will send you a coupon for a free appetizer and when i tell you that the appetizer received was HUGE, i ordered the chicken nachos and our waitress suggested we get "frachos" which is nachos BUT without the tortilla chips and just french fries, SO GOOD. So we went here late (about 11:45 pm) on a Friday night, 11/3/23. We needed something to eat, and taco bell wasn't going to do it. Lol. We walked in and figured it was not going to go well. The hostess did not look happy to see us, and wasn't very friendly. But, then, we met our server, Carter, and he was awesome. He got our order in quickly since the kitchen was closing soon, and was thoughtful enough to ask if we wanted to order dessert before the kitchen closed. He was really friendly and genuine. He was also knowledgeable about the beer selections. He made sure we had everything we needed, and was pleasant to interact with. In times when customer service is a lost art, it was very refreshing to get such great service. When I heard the Yard House was coming to town I was pretty excited, but after my first visit I was disappointed. I've been to different locations, Burbank being my most recent before this one. So I tried the Local Six-Pack Sampler which was good. Finally got to a table and ordered two appetizers and the server took the wrong order so that delayed the order. The Chicken nachos weren't that great but the carnivore pizza was really good. The service wasn't that good so I tried ordering using the ziosk to order and they couldn't seem to get it to work so after about 20-30 minutes, I just asked for my check and left. Been to so many Yard House locations so we kinda know what to expect on the menu and were completely satisfied with our drinks and food. Nice friendly efficient servers. I must say that if you're looking for a place to meet people for the first time, dining alone, or you have high tolerance for loud music, then this is the place for you. This is the 1st time we decided to come here since all this crazy covid19 virus. Anyways we decided to order take out since we are still working in our office. We work down the street so we finally decided to order for take out. I ordered some nachos to go and my coworkers ordered buffalo wings. We decided to eat here at the office, since i always get emails so i shared with my colleagues. I was not impressed with the nachos they look like regular chips that were burned with pinto beans from a pot and melted cheese. They did not look like how they advertise them on their page. I was not happy at all with their food. I posted a picture of my nachos and another one of what they are supposed to look like. False advertising and to top it off my bill was around $15.00 bucks for burnt nachos. If you are trying to promote your business, you have to make sure your customers are happy. read more

I've never been to a YH anywhere so I am not able to offer a comparison. In fairness it just opened so there is always kinks to work out. I went twice while visiting family in the area. If you are into beer and the yard gimmick, you might find it more interesting. The first time it was packed and loud af. The tacos are good, but tiny and expensive. The pizza we had was gross and looked nothing like the picture. The sauce is more like paste and it had roasted tomatoes and garlic. It came out in less than 5 minutes which is a bit of a worry. The second time it wasn't as busy but the food took forever. The water glass had food on it and wasn't clean. The cubano was good but not near the best I've had. It needed some ham and the ju was barely warm. It also had tomato on it which I've never seen. It's creative but not that great. The pork burger crust tasted burnt. What really bothers me is all the TVs showing the same nothing NFL network programming. Management should seek out and play better programming or just stick to the music videos. I'd come back again and try something else, but I doubt it's the "best thing ever" in any category. read more

Absolutely loved this place! Wish I would have taken a picture of my food for you because it was perfect. First of all we had amazing service! Literally every employee was super sweet, smiled and wanting to help. We got checked on so much by the wait staff and the manager it could have bordered annoying if they weren't so darn friendly haha. The manager was literally visible at all times walking around checking on everyone. Music is a bit loud but it's part of their vibe. They play old school rock hits like Sweet Child of Mine. Yard House is a good chain staple when you are away from home. It is consistently pretty tasty everywhere you go. Whenever we come to visit family in Bakersfield, we struggle to find somewhere to eat. Yard house is usually packed: this time we got lucky and found a seat at the bar. We sat down, and immediately the bar tender asked us what we wanted. We hadn't really looked at the menu, so we just asked for some water. After that it took at least 30 minutes to get someone's attention after that. To make matters worse, the bartenders were all just standing in a circle chatting with each other. Once we got someone's attention, our appetizer and drinks came out promptly. There was a shift change while we were thing and the second group was awesome and way more attentive. Yard House is a great staple for lunch or dinner. For a "brewhouse," it's menu expands well beyond your typical "pub food." This visit was with a family and I shared the chicken lettuce wrap, firecracker shrimp, and cheese curds. I would recommend them all. Aside from the brews, Yard House also features a nice cocktail list. The service was very accommodating, especially considering we had a group of seven that turned into eight. We didn't have to wait to long for food, and it all came out together. The venue is not too loud and allows for comfort engagement and communication with people, while still playing a pretty eclectic mix of music. I brought my husband here for his love of beer. He had bottomless house beers for $15. He throughly enjoyed them all. I had a black orchid drink. It tasted like a slushee and was very good. Our waitress was busy so service wasn't the greatest. Had to ask for refills. I ordered a ranch salad. The salad was huge but the lettuce was brown and old. I ate 2 bites and was done. My husband and I both ordered burgers and fries. I ordered garlic fries but received regular. Both of our fries were cold. I didn't mention the fries to the waitress as I was already annoyed from the salad. The waitress gave us a free dessert for the salad which was very nice. We picked the s'mores dessert thinking it would be amazing like the one at BJ's, but it wasn't. Overall experience wasn't good. HH runs from 3-6pm and there are about 16 items that are half off, including pizzas and great deals on their beer, wine and cocktails. So we finally decided to come in and give the Yard House a try. Figured we would let the excitement of a new restaurant in Bakersfield die down a bit before we came. We showed up at around 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon during playoff football time, so we expected a long wait. We checked in and waited about an hour but we're glad we stuck it out. But we decided to start off with the cheese curds ( delicious ) I had some soda water and my wifey a strawberry mule ( she said was a bit on the sweet side). For our entree I had the roasted halibut with mash potatoes a miso broth on bottom and served with asparagus and baby bok Choy. I wasn't expecting much considering it's just another chain restaurant, but let me assure you it did not disappoint .
