One of our favorite lunch spots. We have yet to have dinner there but for some reason it's always our lunch spot. They have a great American menu with a ton of drink options and a pretty decent selection of local taps. Their food is good and we've had a little bit of everything there. The just started serving breakfast, so I would like to try that out as well. Service is always good but can be a tad bit slower, due to the lack of servers, especially during a rush. So kick back, have a couple drinks and enjoy your companies conversations or one of the many televisions playing the different games. The place is a little smaller than most restaurants but they do have a back patio, when the weather is nicer. Definitely will be coming back to this location and trying something new, as well as a drink or two. Bootleggers is a Bakersfield staple. The menu has great variety and ample portions. Wednesdays has all day happy hour with great deals on appetizers and excellent margaritas. I recently went for breakfast for the first time and it was delicious! I had an excellent Tri-Tip omelette paired with the sweetheart mimosa. I randomly went to Bootleggers to watch football with some friends on a Sunday. The atmosphere is loud but inviting, the patio is decently sized with plenty of space for larger groups. There are also 4 person high tables, and plenty of screen space for viewing. Our server was friendly and fun. He was quick to offer us drinks to start and came back a few times asking if we were ready to order food. I opted for the a chicken sandwich with a side of fries. My meal was delicious and nicely portioned for two to share. I would like to try some of their pasta dishes as those look delicious, so maybe next time as I will definitely be doing back. read more

Have not been here in forever and wanted to try them out for brunch again. They were almost full but it took us 15 minutes from being seated to even getting menus/getting acknowledged. Not the best way to start. Kinda continued in this fashion for meal. Forgot my girlfriend's drink and her side of sausage. Really enjoyed the GOAT skillet and would order again. Had a couple buddies show up unexpectedly, on a quiet Saturday night. There not much going here at the house so I had the bright idea of heading over to bootleggers for a cold beer and some nachos. My wife was happy with my idea, she declined our invitation to join us. It's about a 10 minute drive. The parking lot wasn't to full, there was fun lively crowd enjoying the games it's a great atmosphere. We picked the right place a friendly waitress came and took our orders for nachos and 3 house beers that she recommended. Our generous serving of nachos was out in 10 minutes they were large plenty of cheeses peppers olives onions they were a little different but delicious, chips were fresh and crispy everything was just fine, we finished them all, and the beers Catching up with old friends is always fun doing so at Bootleggers Is even better. I stopped by Bootleggers on a Sunday afternoon. The bar was open seating, which is where I took my seat, but there were plenty of tables for small groups if needed. The food was great. I ordered the Ring Leader Burger with French Fries. The Fries were fresh and crispy. The burger was cooked perfectly and was dripping with cheese. It also has nice thick cuts of bacon. The only downside was the fried onions. A few of my onions were way over fried-to the point where I could not bite through them. I had to eventually remove them from my burger, which did make a bit of a mess. The service was great, and we were well taken care of. Everything was very casual. Invited my friends to dinner at Bootleggers tonight. My first time at this restaurant, The food and the service were very good. However, when it came time to pay the bill, our server said their credit card machine is down and they're only accepting cash. There is an ATM across the parking lot if you need money said she in a matter-of-factly manner. She continue to say it's not our fault. I sat there embarrassed, not believing what I had just heard as she continued to say "it's not our fault" as if to say it's your problem we don't take any responsibility and and we're unconcerned as to how you get the money just pay us! I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. I believe the servers knew well in advance that their credit card machine was not working, but waited until the check was given to let us know. What a dirty way to treat your customers. Luckily I had almost enough cash to pay the bill and my guest had to chip in the balance. I suggest you find another restaurant to have dinner or make sure you have lots of cash on hand. read more

I had a girl date with my best friend to celebrate my birthday on Sunday. We arrived at 10 for brunch. Come to find out, they don't serve their appetizer menu until 1:00pm. Our server/bartender asked why we asked and we told him we had just had our hopes high to have some fried pickles. He said, im sure that's possible, no problem. We had a few (fabulous) mimosas, lunch and those tasty fried pickles! Although, I thought the mimosas were $5 on Sunday, we weren't charged this amount which was a bummer but overall it was a great experience. The tri-tip was extremely dry, and bland must of been yesterdays cook. The mash potato's where made from a box covered in cheese, disgusting , I don't like cheese on my mashers. There was a huge bowl of them with a delicious queso. They would have been a lot better if they weren't overcooked. My grandson got a burger and fries. The burger was mediocre but the fries were good. For food, I'd give them a 3. For service I'd give a 5. So overall they get 4. We were indecisive about dinner tonight, so the family opted for bar/grill food. When I called to place our order, I noticed how busy they sounded over the phone, which is great!! I'm glad this business is thriving amidst the pandemic. My husband picked up our food, which didn't take long at all. He said it was PACKED indoors. So FYI, if you're worried about social distancing, masks, etc., then you may want to rethink this place. However, with as busy as it was, it only took 15-20 minutes for our order to be done. Seriously, who can beat that time!! I was impressed. Now onto our food. For the appetizer, we got the Loaded Tot-chos with asada. Very flavorful and the meat was abundant! The tots were also still crispy, despite it being takeout. My Black and Blue burger was good. It had a lot of bacon, but I wish it had more garlic aioli sauce - it just seemed a bit dry for my taste. The Dirty Chips I got for my side was tasty. I was craving Irish Nachos and these were different, yet it satisfied that craving! Although, I wish it had some more of the sriracha sauce. My hubby enjoyed his Stacked Mac & Cheese with hot links. He loves his Mac and cheese, especially this dish with its creamy blend of three cheeses!
