    GOAT skillet
    Erik L.

Have not been here in forever and wanted to try them out for brunch again. They were almost full but it took us 15 minutes from being seated to even getting menus/getting acknowledged. Not the best way to start. Kinda continued in this fashion for meal. Forgot my girlfriend's drink and her side of sausage. Really enjoyed the GOAT skillet and would order again. With a sunny egg it had the right balance of gravy/biscuit and the veggies added some freshness. A shame the service outweighed the food.

Had a couple buddies show up unexpectedly, on a quiet Saturday night. There not much going here at the house so I had the bright idea of heading over to bootleggers for a cold beer and some nachos. My wife was happy with my idea, she declined our invitation to join us. It's about a 10 minute drive. The parking lot wasn't to full, there was fun lively crowd enjoying the games it's a great atmosphere. We picked the right place a friendly waitress came and took our orders for nachos and 3 house beers that she recommended. Our generous serving of nachos was out in 10 minutes they were large plenty of cheeses peppers olives onions they were a little different but delicious, chips were fresh and crispy everything was just fine, we finished them all, and the beers Catching up with old friends is always fun doing so at Bootleggers Is even better. Im lucky to have a fun local pub that has good service great food and excellent refreshments. Check them out.

The fish sticks were heavily battered. It became too much after eating the first one, hardly tasted the fish. Fries were ok, dipping them into the tartar sauce gave them more flavor. I was seated pretty quickly but wasn't checked up on, didn't get a refill on my water. This place is somewhat on the modern side with their furniture.

We love this place, especially my middle daughter who requested to come here for her 16th birthday party. She loves the pretzels with cheese and Mac n cheese. I love the tacos and the trip-tip salad. The staff is friendly and always on top of it. They also took a reservation which is nice when you have a big group. The place is clean and comfortable. Definitely a great place to celebrate.

Came here after work and their service was amazing. Nashville sliders were yummy. The burger and mac and cheese were a little bland to my liking. But the drinks were good.

    Ford pickle appetizer

The pickles ate amazing with tempura! Chefs kiss! Service was slow but overall great experience. Muddled berry margarita and berty lemonade with vodka also very good.

Chile verde omelette. Pretty sure I asked for cheese but no worries. Didn't need it.

SERVICE was phenomenal. Ambience was terrific (great music max and sports on the tv's). Cost was higher than the average place Food was very good but not spectacular. Order : chile verde omelette. Plus TONS OF MEAT Negative- no real flavor, kick or chunks, almost deep pit style. Not picking yes but a generous portion. Ordered mine with country potatoes and those were terrific! Great blend of potato, onion and peppers. I will definitely be back to try the lunch and happy hour menu.

    The Ring Leader Burger

I stopped by Bootleggers on a Sunday afternoon. The bar was open seating, which is where I took my seat, but there were plenty of tables for small groups if needed. The food was great. I ordered the Ring Leader Burger with French Fries. The Fries were fresh and crispy. The burger was cooked perfectly and was dripping with cheese. It also has nice thick cuts of bacon. The only downside was the fried onions. A few of my onions were way over fried-to the point where I could not bite through them. I had to eventually remove them from my burger, which did make a bit of a mess. The service was great, and we were well taken care of. Everything was very casual. This is a good place for all ages.

Haven't been here in quite a few years but it was excellent as ever!! GREAT service and even better food! Our glasses were always full and they came to check on us often. We tried the sampler and it was HUGE and so delicious. Will definitely be back again!

Went here for a cocktail ... and boy were the cocktails good! The bartender was fast and friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the way he checked on us a lot ; and it was very laidback and chill atmosphere. There was a good variety of cocktails and beers. Seemed like something for everyone. Didn't try the food ; so can't review that.... But it looked good from what I saw coming from the kitchen.

This is one of my favorite spots in Bakersfield. They have the coldest Modelo on tap, and Bryan the bartender is excellent. Super friendly and efficient. Ordered the wings w/ fries and a bowl of clam chowder. The wings are excellent and clam chowder is probably the best I've ever had. The Ambiance is great with plenty of tv's to watch sports Great spot with excellent food and service. Highly recommend

My husband's brunch. Good, but too much chorizo, he said.

We put in our orders and found our seat - there was live music on stage too - it was early in the day so we were surprised to be able to see it, a happy surprise for sure! I ordered an iced tea and its a self serve station - I loved the tea, it was brewed really well so anyone who wants a great tea come here! We walked over and had an enjoyable experience. I would first note, they only had 5 of the brewery's own beers on tap. I didn't mind, as I enjoyed a blood orange witbier. I had the sliders with veggie sticks and they were delicious. I was excited to see something besides just chips offered for sides. The seating space is ample and the night we were there, there was music. I was actually pleasantly surprised the music wasn't super loud and echo-y and we could still enjoy conversation. I would recommend stopping by for a beer and some food!

It is Grilled Cod with pineapple, cabbage, green onions, cilantro, crema & guacamole which sounds so delicious. There are two reasons why I gave a lower star review today. I was really looking forward to these tacos but unfortunately the fish was mushy with very little flavor. As I ordered my server asked if I wanted the signature, curly or sweet potato fries. What she neglected to inform me was that there was an add on fee for the sweet potato fries, so my $13 lunch special turned into a $16 lunch. I don't like surprises! Although the service was very good, I would like to have made an informed choice on the fries. Mostly they have yummy food and good service. They have Happy Hour 3-6pm and 9pm to close daily. The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.

I immediately noticed that my favorite dish, the shakshuka eggs, was no longer on the menu. Thinking it might just be a seasonal change, I decided to try something different. I ordered the carrot ginger soup, beet and goat cheese salad, and my usual favorite cocktail, the Pear Necessities. The cocktail was the first disappointment. It tasted completely different from what I've come to enjoy, none of the smoky mezcal flavor and none of the sweetness from the pear liquor that made it a favorite. I figured it might just be a new bartender and tried to brush it off. The carrot ginger soup was just okay. I found myself searching for both the carrot and ginger flavors, neither of which really stood out. The beet and goat cheese salad was fine, but it's hard to get too excited about a salad. Overall, the food felt subpar compared to what I've come to expect from Moo Creamery. The restaurant itself was also surprisingly loud, making conversation difficult and adding to the overall frustration. It was hard to get our waitress's attention throughout the meal, and service felt disjointed. The most disappointing moment came when we noticed my son's chicken strips and fries sitting on the counter for 13 minutes before they were finally brought to our table. By then, it was difficult not to question whether the food was still as fresh and hot as it should have been. We came in excited to experience the new location, but between the noisy atmosphere, inattentive service, and food that didn't live up to Moo Creamery's usual standards, we left feeling disappointed. Sadly, I probably won't be returning. It's hard to justify giving it another try when there are so many other restaurants in town that consistently deliver quality food, service, and a better overall dining experience.

Last year I made a large reservation for about 10 ladies to celebrate someone and on the way to the restaurant they called to confirm the reservation (about 30 minutes before), but I did not hear my phone. When I arrived, a distraught friend told me that they did not have our reservation so I asked what the issue was. The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal. Hoping they recieve the help they need as I love to see my community thrive.
