Decided to enjoy my Birthday dinner at the brand new Yard House and it did not disappoint. From the amazing cocktail selection to the free full size appetizer. They were suppose to give 2 flavors on my wing appetizer, but I only got 1. They immediately brought me a new order free of charge. My steak was not cooked right but have no fail they replaced my entire meal with out missing a beat. It's ok, went last night for the third time and the tacos were dry, they need a sauce if you're calling them "Street Tacos" . The Mexican rice was dry with a odd seasoning. I thought the fish and chips were like Long John's Silver. The jalapeño tarter sauce is probably too hot for most people, I thought it was good and the ribeye steak was fair. I had been excited to try out Yard House and I finally had the opportunity to yesterday. It was packed but it's understandable for just being open for two weeks. The service was honestly the best service I have ever had. The hostess and the two servers (Sam & Peyton) that helped us were incredibly helpful and optimistic despite the busy evening. As for the food, I'd go again to give it a much more fair review. I ordered the Chicken enchilada stack and my friend ordered the Lobster garlic noodles. My boyfriend and I came here for date night and we absolutely loved everything we had. I believe I ordered the lobster garlic noodles and my boyfriend got the Korean steak. Everything about it was delicious. Next time he will opt in for the regular fries rather than the Korean fries it comes with. The service was on point, attentive and kind. My lobster noodles would have to be my favorite dish in all of Bakersfield. The calamari appetizer was the best I've had in Bakersfield as well. We will be coming back!!! read more

the food was great, the drinks were amazing, however we waited 20 mins for a table for two on a Tuesday night which is fine BUT we waited at least 10 mins before greeted & on top of that it wasn't even a greet the male manager on duty just came up to the table and said something along the lines of "is there anything you needed" me and my boyfriend were confused because we specifically picked yardhouse for a date night expecting a great experience we didn't get that. So my friends and I decided to grab dinner here and catch up with one another. I must say, eatting in a restaurant during this pandemic did feel a tad different...it's been a while since we dined-in. Already there was a waiting line outside (because they don't take reservations ahead of time you have to go in person to be added on their waitlist). **Our wait experience** We were a party of 5 and was told the wait would be around 1hr to 1.5hr. Sure why not... we had our mind set on this place already haha. They wrote my phone number down so that I can be reached when our table was ready. Haven't even been 1hr yet I was texted within 30min that our table was ready!!! **Our dine-in experience** All the employees were wearing masks and those handeling food had gloves on. They also had hand sanitizer at the front. Our server was super awesome and accomodating. We ordered our food and drinks 10min after being seated (because we didn't know what to order yet). Time went by slow so it felt like our food took a while to arrive, somewhere between 15min-20min...so if you don't mind or don't have the patience I hope you brought it with you lol. It was a Saturday in October which means endless ranked college football games. I was confused to see all the tv's in my area remain on NBA preseason basketball instead of any ranked match up. Well, Yard House is Yard House. I dare you to come here for their Happy Hour, you will not be disappointed. Many of their various size beers, mixed drinks, and wines are discounted at least $2, weekdays until 6PM. The appetizers are half off during happy hour and include amazing dishes like, poke nachos, beef sliders, lettuce wrapped chicken tacos, wings and much more. The food is tasty, and cheap so you can't go wrong. I always have the poké nachos, happy hour or otherwise. Their prices haven't went up too much since the pandemic and they've stuck it out through the storm...we only waited 10 minutes or so for a table for 6 and the service was awesome! We finally used our gift card from Christmas 2019 to get some food to go. We walked up to a cash register that was set up outside along with a tent for outdoor eating. The employee told us we could go in and pick up our order we did online. What a beautiful bar. Wish we could of sat down on that particular day, but Covid. We ordered the following: calamari, sliders with sweet potato fries, onion rings, clam chowder, a french dip type sandwich, and pasta with lobster and shrimp. The calamari appetizer is a huge portion. It includes a wonderful tartar sauce and a fresh marina sauce. Yum. The sliders were not cooked well done as we requested. They tasted steamed. I'd get them next time without the sauce. The onion rings were not a bit soggy when we had them at home. Really tasty. The sweet potato fries are a hard pass. The clam chowder was fine and incl. oyster crackers. My husband liked the french dip, but the bread could have been better. The pasta had a generous amount of seafood and looked delicious. It lacked flavor. I warmed it up with butter, garlic, and some lemon juice. The staff was pleasant and gave us our online order quickly. I loved that I was able to pay with my gift card online and pay the remaining balance with my credit card. Nice! One day, we will return for happy hour.
