This place will always come through for any major sports event. Servers are friendly and Yardhouse is such a fun atmosphere. Great selection of beers and bar type food. I always recommend their truffle fries. I have yet to find a contender to these perfectly cooked, thin cut, crispy fries. You can truly taste the truffle, parmesan, and basil. Job well done. I typically have their house honey blonde beer, but this time I opted for their house tropic- a blend of cruzan banana and pineapple rum with citrus agave. It tastes like a tropical vacation. Loved it. Other highlights are their mac & cheese -ooey gooey Mac & cheese inside a deep fried ball, you cannot go wrong. On a nice Friday night, the outdoor bar is where it's at. Checked out this bar for Dine Out Boston. The first thing that struck me was how dark this place was during the day! I've been to the one in Seattle and this location was definitely unsettlingly dark until I got used to it. Loads of TVs on walls. Service was very attentive, almost to the point of please go away lol. She was very efficient. Guacamole and chips: a very generous portion with large chunks of avocado. Could have done with a little more flavor and kick. Chips were fresh. Burger was good and fries fresh. Water replenished without asking. A nice relaxing place and I didn't feel I had to listen to anyone else's conversation. I would definitely return! read more

Came here looking for shipyard pumpkin after not finding many pumpkin beer options in other places. I thought Yard House has to have it! They did, and they do the cinnamon and sugar rim for the pumpkin beer. YES!!!! Soooo good! My bf told me about it and we had been on a quest for it for a couple weeks now. I'm not huge on eating at chain restaurants but when the weather is freezing and windy (mimicking Chicago) you don't question it. We were seated immediately but our food took awhile to come out and the team had no recommendations/suggestions on what to eat. This was a true disappointment. Ambience: This place has a sports bar atmosphere filled with many tv's and large amounts of seating. There is also outdoor seating and two separate bars. Service: The staff is great, friendly and fast. I always enjoy the customer service at this spot. Food: I think the food is slightly above average. I wasn't really blown away with my burger but I can say it tasted good. I think what is more prominent here is their vast array of beers on tap. Their beer menu is so large and sometimes can be overwhelming (and that's a good thing). Also, per the name, you can order beers in half yard amounts and trust me I always do. Overall Rating: This restaurant earns 3 out of 5 stars. This restaurant is a nice experience but I do not believe the food will blow you away or keep you coming back. However, their beer selection and atmosphere definitely will. I want to give this place 4 stars but I really just wasn't all that impressed with the food which is a shame because all other factors were great. I hate to leave a bad review since I came here all the time during my college days, but just thought I should give some warning. I came here with my roommates, we all ordered half yards and our meals from our waiter. Shortly after 3/4 half yards arrived from a bartender or someone other than our waiter, he said the other one would be coming out. 15 minutes later, all our meals come out. We mention we are still waiting for the last half yard. The waiter makes a joke, "oh man, I'm going to go yell at the bartender." Another 15 minutes go by, our waiter comes by, makes a joke again, "wtf, I can't believe you don't have your drink yet." Neither can we. Again, more time goes by. We start eyeing him down to get his attention because we still haven't gotten the last beer! He starts avoiding our table. Someone starts clearing the table, we finished our food. No beer. I would say it took over an hour, finally the waiter brings the beer but makes this comment, "I got written up for this beer, but it was worth it" then walks away. The comment was unnecessary. He then avoids out table for the rest of the time to the point that every table in our section is gone while we wait for our check to leave. I go up to the host stand asking for a manager. They say "sure, we will send one to our table." 15 minutes go by, no waiter nor manager comes. Again, I approach the host stand asking for the manager, they apologize and say he will be over very soon. Once the manager arrives, I make him aware of how long a beer took to arrive with no warning and how our waiter avoided our table. He nicely comped a good portion of our bill, but overall not a great experience after three hours. read more

In fact, I could have just eaten the clam chowder in a huge bowl and I would've been fine, it was that good. If you're getting an entree, definitely tack on a bowl, it's worth it. The ahi situation was good but I felt like there was something missing. Maybe more pita crisps to eat it with or maybe I had envisioned more of a tuna tar tar in my head and this was a bit different. I stopped by last night with a few friends, we sat at the bar and we were watching the baseball game (usa-p rico) the bartender was nice and very friendly, then another guy sat close to us and requested another channel on the tv so they changed it. Another bartender approached to serve us another round and I told him we were watching the baseball game and he told us the game was in another tv so we can move to watch it, I told him we were watching the game first and we keep arguing the same thing over and over till he told me I was being rude (which not) I still apologized and he did not and leave. Then we just felt awkward the rest of the night. Later they put back the game and when we paid he apologized. I really like the place but those situations make me don't feel very welcome . read more

A pretty solid place to catch a game or grab a bite to eat. This place is massive in size, with a huge central bar, and another small bar hidden in the back. Plenty of seating for larger groups (make a reservation if you are more than 6), and it can get pretty crowded during special sporting events (nfl) or a RedSox game with Fenway being about a block or so away. They have a massive beer selection (over 100 on tap) which can be served in their signature yard glass. The food is actually better than anticipated, with a massive selection of food from burgers, pizza, tacos, and the like which is better than what you get from your neighbor dive bar. Overall this is a solid recommend for anyone wanting to get a bite to eat or watch a game. read more

Ate here first time before a game on suggestion from my attending brother & sisters. Arrived before the doors opened and formed a line at the door. This was 25 mins before they opened. By 11:00 when the doors opened the line stretched down the block. My brother requested a table on the patio and we were the first ones out there. The tables are set up for four so we pushed two together as there was six of us. You do this on your own. They won't do it. Not a problem. The beer menu here is ridiculous. Absolutely huge beers on tap. Our server was amazing. Friendly & efficient. I had read reviews of slow service. We saw none of this. Everything was perfectly timed. Within 30 mins of the doors opening every table was gone and this place is massive. Didn't effect our service at all. We started with nachos for the table. Very good. Then we all ordered completely different entrees. I opted for a fried chicken sandwich. It was very good. There were no complaints from the six of us and the portions were big. I think I was the only one that could finish his plate. I will definitely return here when in town for a game. Update 9/13/19-In town for The Who with my brother. Arrived at 4:30 pm and there was a line waiting for tables. The place was already full. I told the friendly hostess we would look for a table outside which we did and found. Our server was amazing. She was swamped as all servers were and never lost her cool, We ordering beers that we both liked along with a fish & chips and a TexMex style salad with chicken. My brother loved the salad. The fish chips were a little over cooked.. Very dark and over crisp. Not terrible but definitely not the best I've had. The only hiccup we had was first the bartender forgetting one of our beers and then our server forgetting it. It took over 30 minutes for the beer to finally reach the table. Please do not favor on white customers rather than those customers with colors... A hint, please believe those reviews with 1 star , 2 stars or 3 stars... Went here twice within the last week and a half. The first time, was a horrible experience, and I had made up my mind that I wasn't going back--until I got a free appetizer via email and figured maybe it was a fluke and I just had one bad experience. NOPE. It got WORSE. Took 10 minutes from the moment we sat down to get menus. The server told us "no worries that's the hosts' job, they'll take care of it." We waited another 5 and our server FINALLY took some initiative and brought us our menus. THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE TIME THERE, WE HAD NO NAPKINS OR SILVERWARE. We were given a cup of lemonade we had ordered with no ice. And I mean NO ICE. No personality whatsoever throughout our dinner. Had other coworkers bring the food that we ordered To-Go to us because she didn't want to speak to us for whatever reason. She handed us the kiosk to pay and all she did was ask if we knew how to use it, no thank you, no personality, NO NOTHING. We were getting up to leave and she walked right by us and didn't say a word. Spoke to a manager later that night making it known that the experiences we had were nothing short of terrible and we want management to be aware of this lack of mutual respect for customers and professionalism. It was advised next time I come in, to ask for the manager to discuss. Needless to say, I won't be stepping foot back in that establishment. The management handled the situation properly, but the way our experiences went, completely tarnished our idea of Yard House and how great it USED TO BE. I highly recommend the Lemon drop drink and the Spice rum mule drink. Their 'Happy Hour' menu options have some good deals and I ordered the pizza with the French Onion soup. Wow. Just wow. Worst service ever. We felt incredibly unwelcome. Bizarrely hostile bartenders who clearly didn't want to be there and were incredibly put out when asked to (gasp!) make a drink (except for lovely female bartender). We spent a couple of hundred at the bar, were polite, always said please and thank you and were greeted with attitude. I guess ordering drinks at a bar is a terrible nuisance and we were keeping the bartender from pouting at his reflection in the mirror. Our apologies. Addressed the issue with the manager but also had an aggressively bad attitude. Nice professionalism dude. Normally I wouldn't review after a single visit, but I was terrifically impressed by the service at the Yard House. They deserve an immediate shout-out for being so great about a disorganized reservation situation. I found myself suddenly responsible for making reservations for a group of women to have drinks and dinner near Fenway Park--on the day of the 100th anniversary open house, when the area would be mobbed. Even though I couldn't give a specific headcount ("10-15 people"), they cheerfully took my reservation and asked only I call day-of with a more specific headcount. Day of, I could still do no better than "about 10 people." When we finally showed up, there were only three of us (later expanded to six). At every step of the way, the Yard House staff was friendly, positive, and helpful. We were seated right away at a table for six even though our reservation had been for a bigger group, and even though it meant the waiter who brought us our first round of drinks was no longer our server. Side note: If you're part of any sort of organized group, please RSVP to invitations and then actually do what you said you would. As others have noted, the beer list is fantastic and gigantic. I agree with others that prices would be helpful, as well as an ounce measurement for the half yard serving. The two pints I chose were reasonably priced at around $6 each for what I consider high quality beers (Southern Tier and Bear Republic). My turkey burger was juicy and delicious, and the sweet potato fries were worth the $1 upcharge. Others in the group enjoyed their meals as well, with the burger getting special raves. An appetizer salad ordered by one girl was gigantic; we couldn't believe it wasn't a dinner salad. To cap off a great service experience, our waitress, Dezi, cheerfully provided separate checks. Reviewers are probably going to start hating on this place because people who follow the Red Sox/celebrate St. Patrick's Day/attend theme parties/made fun of you in high school will go here. Hell, I know I love this place. But guess what? The space is so gorgeous and huge you can avoid all those types you love to judge! At the center of Yard House is a humongous bar with a great collection of taps. I had the Yard House Blonde and a Speckle Hen and both were delicious. The outdoor patios are what really makes this place special though. That's right. Patios. Two patios, one with a separate bar and one with a lovely fire pit. The view leaves something to be desired (some ugly building with a poster advertising a Nickleback concert on it-Even I judge Nickleback) I had delicious fries which were skinny, crispy and kind of like Burger King only not gross. Dining friends tried the Sliders which looked juicy and cooked to perfection. Things that I would typically find annoying in service, I just found endearing here. For example, I was carded constantly-every drink and sometimes in between drinks. I also kept getting offered the wrong food-I wouldn't even think to order the Edamame at a sports bar but thanks for offering? Perhaps because the staff was just so damn friendly and trying to damn hard, this just kind of made me shrug and go, "ohhh you guys!" Went to this location after a Red Sox Game and saw in the patio. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was polite but as the night went on became very rude. My friends and I ordered some food and drinks. Some other people who were friends of one person in our party saw us and sat at a table next to us (two separate tabs). They got drinks at the bar and another waiter working in the patio came to our table and very rudely told us to not go to the bar and wait for our waitress. Someone in my party said "i am sorry I didn't hear you say that" he replied with "you were physically here but obviously not mentally here" I want to speak to the manager at this place. First time at a Yard House and the beer and cider selection was memorable just as promised! I wish I reviewed earlier to remember what we got on the table, but the Harpoon Craft Cider was light and seasonal and was a great accompaniment to the truffle fries. And there was also something with "Rose" in the name (I couldn't find it on the menu online again) which was also easy and fun! This was an appetizer only night for our table as we watched the Packers' game (so definitely go here for game nights!). Here were the hits - Truffle fries Kungpao Calamari Ahi Sashimi Chicken Nachos Coconut shrimp Lettuce Wraps They're all uhhh-mazing and we ordered seconds for some of these. The servers were also very friendly too! The food isn't through the roof and the beer and cider selection is pretty good but again, not the best I've seen.
