Chains normally aren't my place, but THUMBS UP! We met up with friends for a night out and the line was LONG, but thankfully our ~45 minute wait was more like 30. Ours friends were still parking their car, but thankfully they seated us. A really friendly guy walked us to our table, chatting up my boyfriend. Then, our waitress Shana was AMAZING. I've really never had such a happy, friendly, helpful waitress who was SO excited to be there and doing her job, and I think it was genuine. She was AWESOME helping us navigate the very extensive menu, and we all enjoyed our drinks, appetizer (crab dip) and entrees. Two of us got jambalaya. The large was enough for 3 meals! Something I really liked about her is that after she checks ID's, she will continue to call you by your name. You know what? I really enjoyed my trip to Yard House! It gets a five 'cause I can't think of a reason to give it a four... I'm usually hungry when I'm in this part of town (usually on a Trader Joe's / Costco run) so I was really excited about a new food option opening up - and after the first visit, Yard House is definitely going to be put into rotation (especially for the patio when the weather warms up). We were seated right away mid-afternoon on a Saturday. They walked us to the back of the restaurant to a large round booth, wedged into the corner. I can see how some people wouldn't like this, but it was the PERFECT table. The noise level was surprisingly low and it gave us a great view of the entire restaurant. Spying the impressive array of tapped kegs through the window behind us, we knew BEER was in our future. Our server, Dallas, was very personable, funny and knowledgeable about the menu. I was afraid we'd be forgotten in our cozy corner, but he was very attentive and I might even ask to be sat in his section in the future. I declined ordering a beer (I am spoiled on cheap, craft beer from Tasty and Village Drafthouse), but hubby ordered the House Tripel and likened it to Foothills Seeing Double (that's a good thing). The menus are extensive, but well-designed, with ABV% for the beer and helpful icons noting which items are under 600 calories or are vegetarian. They even have a whole section of vegetarian pizzas worth checking out. We both ended up going with salads. My Thai Chicken Noodle was AMAZING. Perfect heat level, sweet, spicy and savory - this dish was like a summer roll without the rice wrapping - SO GOOD. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the large slabs of cucumber garnish were a welcome addition to the plate. Hubby was equally pleased with his Blackened Chicken Caeser - and he's picky about his Caeser Dressing... Unfortunately, if someone asked me one word to describe Yard House I would say "overpriced." My cobb salad was $13.95, thats pretty steep for a decent salad. A salad shouldn't exceed $9.99 unless you are putting a piece of fish or steak on it. The beers are overpriced as well. I consider myself a self proclaimed beer connoisseur & I started with an Allagash Black goblet for $7 - I know this beer isn't cheap so this is the exception to my review, I understand the price tag. My issue is with the $6.75/pint of North Coast Old Rasputin and $6.75/pint of Dogfish's 90 minute IPA, those prices just aren't in line with the cost of these beers. I wouldn't ever order a Bud Light pint but if I brought a friend who is watching their wallet or waist line they would have to shell out $4.25/pint which probably cost the restaurant in the $.25-.30 cents range. In short, I won't be returning anytime soon. There are just too many places in Raleigh with a great beer selection and comparable if not better food for what I consider a fair market value Its really unfortunate considering the location is only 1.5 miles from my house and had so much potential. read more

Time, for another update! I've probably been to YH roughly about twenty times since they opened. I have tried a variety of their dishes and have found quite a few that I like. I actually like some of their small plates/apps the best. The highlights for me have been the ahi tuna (they do this really well). I have had the ahi tuna sandwich as well as ahi tuna poke bowl. Other favorites have been their crispy duck wings (larger and more flavorful than chicken wings), their street tacos and truffle fries. YH has a really extensive menu, so just about anyone can find something they like. I am not a big craft beer person, but they have a huge selection of beers if you like to adventure from the norm. Service at times can be slow when they are really crowded, but I have always experienced friendly service here (I recommend getting a seat at the bar if possible for the fastest service). I've never come out of here without spending at least $20 (usually more), so they are a bit pricey. For their variety and quality of food though I would rate them right up there at the top as far as my favorite go to restaurants in Raleigh. read more

I'm just going to go for it and dole out the elusive 5 stars to Yard House. My first experience there was pretty dang good (even though the waiter had no clue what gluten-free was and it took him 15 min to get us a gf menu) and we had to wait forever for a table. That aside, the place is AMAZING inside and out. You feel you stepped out of Raleigh and into a big city. A welcome change. This IS where the pretty people hang out. We affectionately named them... 'Yard Candy' of course. ;) I've read a lot about the price of the food. Maybe I just eat at a lot of expensive restaurants, but if you're willing to pay $10 for a martini, what is $14 for a salad? At this point, it's all about the experience and the ambience. The servings were quite large as well, so I can't complain really. I ordered the carne asado tacos on corn tortillas (that option is not listed on the menu btw, you have to ask for it if you are gf) and switched out the rice/beans for sweet potato fries. It was well prepared and just the right amount. We all cleaned our plates in anticipation of a night out of bevies. The drinks were well-executed as well. Our new favorite place. read more

We got there 20 minutes later and they said they were now on a 15-20 minute wait. Thanks to a friend who had extra tickets to a Yard House preview party, we got to check out the restaurant two days before it opened to the public. It was a great experience and will definitely be the first of many trips back to this restaurant for both food and drinks. We were given two drink tickets when we first arrived at the restaurant and waiters were circulating bringing out samples of many of their appetizers and entrees. We also had a wonderful server, but I will get to that shortly. The space itself is very large with a large bar area towards the center of the restaurant. There is a very nice patio outside which I will definitely take advantage of on a nice night. For my two drinks, I decided to order two mixed drinks despite their large and impressive beer menu. I really like the fact that you can order drinks in a variety of sizes in case you want to sample a few. The half yards are very big and I saw a few people enjoying these the night we were there. My drink choices were the Pineapple Express (Skyy pineapple vodka, Malibu pineapple, monin mojito, fresh pineapple & mint) and the pomegranate margarita. Both were very good, I particularly liked the margarita, however. It is hard for me to remember all of the food we sampled, because the samples seemed to be never-ending. Some of the main things that I enjoyed were: the pork egg rolls, Hawaiian poke stack (probably my favorite thing we sampled - really fresh and spicy), the spinach cheese dip, the classic sliders, the blackened swordfish tacos, the four cheese pizza, the firecracker chicken and the shiitake garlic noodles. As you can see, we were served a lot of food and this is not even everything we sampled. In addition to the wonderful food and drinks, we had a wonderful server. One of the members of our group was a vegetarian, and we had noticed that not too many of the foods that they were offering were vegetarian-friendly. We mentioned this to the server, and she came back with a salad and pasta that she had had the chef prepare specifically for this person. That to me went above and beyond our expectations and made me like the place even more. Only downside - slightly pricey on the beer/drink side, however, this is just a small factor and definitely nothing that will stop me from going back to Yard House often. read more

I like it! It's nice and open but still intimate with the style and placement of the booths. It feels very modern yet is comfortable. I love the subdued lighting and the playlist is tops. A little bit of everything but they win points for playing Depeche Mode! I ordered the skinny margarita and it was nice and strong. It had a bit of a peppery taste which I couldn't decide if I liked it or not but overall it's nice to have a drink that's not sweet. I was intrigued by the vegetarian menu and it's certainly more than just a nod to non meat eaters. The only drawback was everything was made with chicken flavored gardien. I eat poultry so for me I wasn't all that tempted but I love the fact they have put thought into a vegetarian menu and not just giving you the choice of pasta or a salad! No I'm not a vegetarian so no need to point it out but when I can I prefer meatless meals. Would love to see them develop a non black bean, chipotle veggie burger. I had the chicken schnitzel sandwich and though it didn't really look like traditional schnitzel it was excellent. I did ask for them to leave out curry ketchup though. My husband thought their gumbo was pretty decent. He's never going to be completely satisfied unless Papa Mojos on 55 is reincarnated but this was not a bad alternative. The service was efficient but practiced and a bit insincere. Just kind of going through the motions. The food runners were great but although the waiter did his job it was like he didn't see us when he talked to us. I'd definitely go back if I'm in north hills again. I was out there to pick up something I bought from Craig's list which is neither here nor there but there you have it. Lots of construction going on in that area so parking was a little tricky. I'm a total fan of Yard House. Sure, it is a little overpriced, but seriously, you shouldn't expect much different in the North Hills area, as much as that blows. It doesn't prevent me from visiting; I feel that Yard House gives me my money's worth overall. Until recently, I had only been to Yard House to have cocktails, and that was a good time anyway. I finally went for a meal last week and was pleasantly surprised. First, Gardein products on the menu??? YES! It was a vegetarian's heaven, lots and lots to choose from without feeling like I was having to be "that picky diner" that kitchens hate. Being in lunch mode, I opted for the salad and soup: soup being the tomato bisque. If this tomato bisque came in a gallon jug served to the table, I would have finished it. It was THE BEST tomato bisque I have ever had. It had a little fried basil leaf in it, cute as a button and tasty. The server was uber helpful with the menu and drink order. The place was crowded but not overly so. It was enjoyable and pleasant. Only issue- parking. It's seems so crazy that the only convenient parking is pay-to-park, but oh well...it is the North Hills area. read more

My eating experience at this place was A-OK. It is a chain with a hodge-podge menu running from predominately American to a few bits of Asian, British, and Southern cuisine. I'm usually a bit of a skeptic when restaurants dabble in multiple cultures of eats, as I question how good they can be in all of them. The Goods: The lobster, crab, and artichoke appetizer was delicious with it's warm four cheese blend. The regular french fries are shoe string and came out perfectly crunchy. The cobb salad had heaps of goodies and was a nice size! The Not-So-Goods: I went with the fish and chips... and wasn't impressed. The beer batter had a sweet taste, there was way too much of the batter, and the inside was a little soggy. The margarita pizza was nothing special. I felt the prices for many of the items were inflated. Main take away: it's a chain with a wide variety and many decent options with some items not meeting expectations. If you went enough times and explored the menu, I bet you could find some awesome go-to meals. Without knowing the menu tastes, it is more of a touch and go experience. It's a step above many chains, to be sure, and I've heard the beer offerings are fantastic. read more

Went to eat lunch with my daughter and it was my first time there, her second time. 1. It was still cool outside so to walk in and be comfortable enough to take my winter jacket off was a nice change from most places locally. 2. The decor was inviting and spacious but was not too loud which can always be a problem with traditional sports bars. 3. We were greeted and seated and had our drink orders quickly. 4. The food? YUM!!!! I decided to try the street tacos; the Baja and the Carnitas and it comes with a side of rice and some beans. I never ever ever eat the rice from regular restaurants because it's always so bland and overcooked. I asked for a to-go box JUST for my rice. The food was incredible and filling and the price was awesome. 5. The manager on duty, Abby, took the time to stop by and inquire about our food and when i told her it was my first time, offered a dessert on the house. WHAT?! Yes. 6. Our server, Tonya, was efficient and quick and that was great. End? I will recommend this to everyone and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu options! read more

We've been waiting with eager anticipation for Yard House to come to Raleigh. We visited on their first Saturday night after opening. Combine that with NC State and Duke vs. UNC games--this made for a packed house! The beer selection is great (over 150 beers on tap), which you can order by the pint or by the half yard. A handful of local NC brews are also on hand (including my favorite brewery: Aviator out of Fuquay). Food is quite good too. Same menu as all the other locations. On our visit there were a few minor kinks, not unexpected for a restaurant open for less than a week. But the manager quickly and generously took care of it. My only complaint is that the prices here are the same as Newport Beach, CA. Having recently moved to the Raleigh area from Orange County, CA I know the cost of living and doing business in Raleigh are not nearly as high as they are in "the OC.". So I can't understand why the menu prices are the same. Yard House: Lower your prices and you will be a star competitor in the already excellent food/beer scene in Raleigh! read more

I had visited the Yard House in Phoenix, AZ and found the menu exciting, the noise awful, and the beer delightful. So, I was curious to see how the Raleigh franchise would be on my first visit. All of the staff were exceedingly friendly - which is great (it was almost a bit overwhelming when we left as about 15 staff members bid us goodbye in chorus). But, on to the review! We loved our server (Chris). I appreciate the offer of the "shorty" (half-pint). I started with a Lagunitas' Dogtown Pale Ale. The Yard House does extend its lunch specials through the weekend, which is nice. I opted for the Turkey Club and the Citrus Soy Salad. The sandwich was pretty eh - could have used some zip (it also may have been my fault for ordering such a sandwich out). But, the bacon was not crisp! Crispy bacon is so important in a good club. The salad was chocked full of good-looking veggies; the dressing was spicy (almost a bit too much). I stole some fries from my boyfriend, and they were delicious. He was offered Dijon maple mustard -- yum! What a fun treat. Overall, it's a great space - it's huge, open. Not perhaps the best place to watch a game (the TVs are not grouped well-enough together) but if you find the right seat, it would be great. Nice patio (hope to enjoy in the spring!) It offers some local craft beer and some daily specials on more unique draft offerings and Bombers to share. I've dined at yard house a few times however last nights experience prompted my review. Several friends and I arrived to be seated in a booth while they played the nba finals on their tv's. It was pretty crowded however we didn't wait more than a few minutes. Our waiter Anthony was funny and amazing. He kept us smiling at our table with his witty suggestions and remarks to our crazy questions. I wanted a specific kind of cider ale that they don't sell but he convinced me to try another which is now my favorite. I also tried the pineapple ale which was another suggestion by our waiter Anthony. I wasn't particularly hungry so I ordered dessert. I really wanted the cobbler and ice cream! About 20 minutes later the manager Corey came over and apologized about being out of the cobbler. Corey was very nice and asked me if there was something else I wanted but being allergic to chocolate limits my dessert options. I shared that with him and he suggested the lemon creme dessert which I loved. The flavors were amazing, with the right amount of tartness with sweet creme. I love how the waiter and manager were knowledgeable about the menu items without grabbing one to sound off random items. I thought the suggestions they gave indicated they were actually listening to me. I ended up trying a few new things and will be back to have them again. Yard House has a little something for just about everyone. American, Asian, southwestern, and pizza are just the beginning. Couple that with a beer list that is just as extensive and you can't go too wrong. I'm partial to the chicken or shrimp rice bowl. Mrs. B and I also shared the California Roll appetizer on our last visit. A bit of a different take on the CR, but very tasty. The service at this location has always been very friendly and attentive. Another plus for this location is the ability to park in the deck and ride the elevator up so if it is raining you don't have to worry about getting wet. The large booths are also very car seat friendly if you've got a sleeping little one in tow. Yard House is a little on the pricier side for what you get and the wait can be a bit long at times, but those are probably my two biggest gripes. I also wish the "chalkboard" menu on the flat screen would rotate through a little faster. I've been here several times. Sometimes solo and sometimes with parties of 8 or more- each time the service is awesome. No complaints there, attentive and food arrival in a timely manner. I've eaten many things but last Friday afternoon I chose to stop for a quick lunch. Ordered a drink called gin and ginger- bitters, Hendricks, ginger beer made in house, agave and apple juice. Was delicious- unexpectedly sweet. Ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl- one of the least expensive items on their menu yet one of the best! Seasoned so well and served with a crispy wonton. Every item in the dish is somewhat soft so the wonton gives it that needed crunch. The dish was so satisfying that all I needed was a dessert to be completely full :) So I ordered the mini apple peach cobbler.... mMMM!!! That was a dish I will try making at home! Served with caramel ice cream. I would go there again just for that. I'm not sure but I imagine this dessert is seasonal. read more

Our meal went pretty smoothly and we had great service, but the food was just ok (and was a little pricey for Raleigh). First off, the menu is HUGE. Like overwhelmingly huge. It took us over 15 minutes to decide on what we wanted and the size of the menu makes me question how they can prepare so many things (if not all frozen). There were benefits to this, like having an entire section of vegetarian fake-meat dishes. Our waitress was great and the appetizers came within 10 minutes, with the food right behind it. I loved her and she was really friendly. I got the Thai veggie-chicken noodle salad. It was quite spicy, so much so that I almost didn't finish it. The noodles were a little bland and the fake chicken was definitely the spicy culprit. The fake chicken DID look like real chicken (so much so that I asked the waitress if it was correct after the food was brought). I might go back, but it's not top on my list. read more

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Came to NC for my boyfriends sisters wedding, we stayed almost a week and the first night we arrived they took us to dinner here and we died of happiness. We liked it so much we ended up coming back 2 more times!! First off, the decor is outstanding. It's clean, elegant, modern and very tastefully done. The bathrooms are gorgeous. The ambiance is perfect and they have a ton of TVs so the third time we came back was to watch the Redskins vs. Bears game. Drinks: when I get married, I found the drink of my dreams to be my bride's drink. I forgot the exact name, something about Mule. It's ginger beer and pineapple vodka with mint, and its the drink I've been searching my whole life for. It's crisp, clean, refreshing and comes in a great tin mug that keeps it chilled no matter how long you have it. It does tend to get a bit filling so I usually can't finish a third. They also have over 100 beers on tap, their brewery is right there in the place so they funnel the beers in pipes directly to the bar. I was so enamored with my drink I didn't even try the beers but everyone in my group raved about them. They also have some that come in yard sticks and the guys loved that. Appetizers: Honestly, we tried almost everything and we didn't have anything that wasn't phenomenal. I loved the coconut shrimp and I normally hate it. Both dips were fantastic. Ahi Tuna was out of this world, so much so that I licked the plate clean of the sauce and the next time we came back I got the Ahi Tuna salad and ate every last bite (I normally can NEVER finish an entire meal) Entree: TACOS TACOS TACOS TACOS!!! The first night I got the swordfish taco platter, couldn't finish but they were SO. GOOD! The rice that comes with it is mind blowing. Some kind of spicy (not actually spicy) but the flavor is incredible. I also tried the pork belly (2nd fave), korean, and something else. The swordfish & pork belly were the best. Tried the roast beef dip, it was also insanely good. (I'm running out of good description words). Burgers were so good. Steak sandwich was also very good. Is there anything that isn't great? Dessert: I tried the sampler because I couldn't make up my mind, and the peach/apple cobbler was my favorite. But honestly all of it was so good. Thankfully they have one down in VA Beach and I can go back because I wake up craving this place and that drink. Two points with our dinner to Yard House. Overall the food was fantastic. The drinks were tasty, I'd recommend the Rosè Refresher. We shared the crab dip which was also tasty as an app. I enjoyed the Lamb Burger but have to say it was awfully spicy. I was not expecting it to be as spicy as it was. My husband got the pork burger which was really delicious, with perfectly crispy onion rings. The big second point to this review is the service. It was incredibly slow. I'm a patient person but it took almost 10 minutes to even have our server initially come to the table, another 10 minutes for drinks and even longer for food. Everything tasted great but we honestly almost didn't make it to drinks as we were really close to leaving due to the slow service. I stop in here regularly as Raleigh is my hometown and I am back very often (doesn't hurt that I enjoy beer very much and I usually stay with family that lives in connecting neighborhood). I've never had anything but a great experience at any Yard House, this location is always on top of it's game. First thing I'd like to point out is it's CLEAN, everywhere - the patio, entrance, bar to the bathrooms. Excellent service, always. Somebody is doing something right there, just doesn't happen by chance, it starts with hiring the right people but they have to be in a good environment to stay happy. Staff here works like clockwork to bring out your beers and food, they get very busy and I've never waited a unreasonable amount of time. Terrific beer selection mixing imports, local breweries and always some world class brews from across the country. Food is top notch. Some of my favorites are the Blue Crab Cakes, Chicken Nachos, FireCracker Wings, Street Tacos (esp. Korean Beef Rib and Vampire), Nashville Hot Chicken and Blackened Chicken Torta sandwich. I'll vouch for any of their beef burgers and the Lamb burger. The Pork burger is next on my list. Love the thin cut fries, Sweet Potato are probably the best I've ever had with the Maple / Bacon Butter. Desserts are worth the price and room if you save it, at least the few times I've forgone a beer I wanted and chosen to satisfy my sweet tooth instead. I need to preface this review with the fact that our meal was comped by a major company, so I can't say anything regarding the value of the food and drinks specifically. I did look at the menu prices, and they seemed fairly reasonable overall. We had a party of six. We arrived about 6:30 on a Thursday night. As I said, our meal was comped...and there was a reserved table being held for us, so we had no wait for a table. (Which, admittedly, was nice...I don't expect such treatment upon return!) We were at a table in the back of the restaurant, and had a view into the keg room--kinda neat. As per the other reviews, the restaurant was full, and it was loud. However, I'd expected that and it didn't bother me too much. Drinks were had--came quickly and refilled without complaint. Our table got a variety of appetizers--hummus (I thought it was a bit bland), calamari, egg rolls, coconut shrimp, seared tuna...all devoured. The waiter was fairly cognizant of the menu, and also was attentive when we let him know I had a nut allergy, since I altered my dinner order somewhat. I got the angel hair pasta dish--took off the feta and the pine nuts, and added mushrooms. This dish came with roasted eggplant and roma tomatoes. Lots of garlic--yum! The eggplant was a bit soggy, but the flavor of it saved it. The mushrooms were close to raw, but I was okay with that...would have been nice to have been sauteed a bit more. My fiance got pork belly tacos and declared them most tasty. The other folks at our table got a monstrous steak sandwich, a chicken dish, a steak, and steak and shrimp. All were quite tasty, judging from the empty plates at the end of the meal. I would return to this place and wait for a table...but probably only in off-peak hours. It was a bit too loud in there for my taste. The food redeemed the space. I usually only go to these types of places for the food--the sports thing is completely lost on me, so I have to base my ratings on the food and service. I came here Saturday evening & had an average experience. It was nice enough to sit outside but also wasn't too busy out. I came with my cousin & her friend who had been here before, and we were dotted immediately. I ordered the strawberry mojito, which was really good. My cousin got a flight of beer. For food I got the steak sandwich which was good, but the bread got soggy quick, so I ended up taking it off. My cousin got a trio of tacos, which had to be taken back because there was a hair in one. The new fresh set were good she said. The friend got a salad, which she said was good as well. My wife and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary by having dinner at Yard House for the first time. The service was great and the food was delicious. The menu offers a lot of choices, so anyone should be able to find something they like. You will definitely leave full due to the generous portion sizes. We both had the Nashville Hot Chicken as our entree. It was different than anything else I've ever had. It consists of deep fried chicken breast, 3 sweet potato pancakes, pickles, hot honey syrup, and ranch. The waitress recommended it be eaten by pouring the hot honey syrup over the pancakes or chicken. Then get a little bit of everything on your fork and dip it in the ranch. It was awesome! The chicken was tender inside and crispy outside. The syrup had a nice little kick to it. Everything went together so perfectly. If you're looking for something different and tasty, definitely give Yard House a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place was fabulous a few years ago; great service, friendly atmosphere, good food. Man, has this place lost its luster! Won't necessarily say it was the food even though last few times it was pretty mediocre, could be the management? We used to have many corporate events there, as it's a very centric location & love the area just no longer the place. Yard House is completely overrated. The food is decent, but it is pretty overpriced and can be hit or miss. The menu is almost too big and they can't focus on a specialty/niche. The last few times I've come my food has been cold when it arrived. The service is always horrendous. In theory, Yard House is a great place to watch football on Sundays - but you have to be okay with waiting 20 mins for your beer. There are better places. read more

I have to say that Yard House was one of my go to places to eat. After my experience with 3 friends Saturday night I don't think I will be retuning. After an extensive wait there was a mix up with the requested table. Instead of handling it like a professional and trying to correct the error the front desk staff was very rude. We waited for another 40 minutes after the initial hour and a half to still not be seated. When we asked to speak to the manager we were finally seated with no server in site for another 10-15 minutes.After watching the next table being addressed before us that sat after us and watching another table kill a large Roach I made up my mind then. My friend got the attention of a passing waiter that said he would take the drink order but I just got up and walked out. I appreciate the manager Brandon attempting to correct the situation and offering us appetizers but I think there is a huge disconnect at the front of the house. Out of my 15+ times of visiting this restaurant this year I have to say this last visit had to be the worst. read more

Many of their appetizers are half off between 3-6 which is a great deal. My friend and I split the spinach cheese dip with crispy pita chips to start. It was very good and creamy. I thought the dip was very yummy and not overly heavy. The only complaint I have is that the spinach could be chopped finer. We shared the Poke Stack and the Tuna sashimi. Next time I will be getting a poke stack for my meal as it was delicious. Good quality tuna, wasabi soy sauce, and daikon radish. The beer selection is great but pours are very pricey. We had Left Handed Milk Stout which is always tasty. We also enjoyed a 21st Amendment black IPA. The bar service was decent although one bartender forgot to give us the beers she had poured from the other side of the bar. Overall I will be returning here and would recommend giving it a shot. read more

Yard House is pretty much everything I want in a good resturant. Amazing atomosphere, large drink (especially beer) selection and inventive food! Came here with my beau on an impromptu date night, looking for a good beer and a burger. I've always heard good things about Yard House so I suggested we try it out. As soon as I stepped in I was impressed; it looked more like a high end New York restaurant than something found in Raleigh. It was comfortable, sleek and modern and instantly I was in love. Service was great as well, we were served by a great guy who knew a crazy amount about the 150 types of beer they had in the menu. My boyfriend asked for suggestions and even a random beer of his choosing, which he was impressed with. Finally we get to the food: I had the truffle fries and a roasted turkey salad....While the roasted turkey salad was pretty standard (I wasn't feeling too adventurous with my entree) the truffle fries were amazing! Something about them made me want to keep eating all day....So good. My boyfriend seemed happy with his mushroom burger as well! I will definitely be back to Yard House soon! I really wanted to like this place; I really did. The layout and atmosphere of the place is awesome. The huge bar is in the middle with spacious booths all around with some tables in between. The colors and decor in the restaurant were all crisp and clean. I really liked the large lines of sliver pipes running across the ceiling. There were 5 of us there and we were most impressed with the beer selection especially the ones on tap. We tried three apps but weren't really impressed with any of them. The crab dip was decent but there were tons of things to scoop the dip with but not so much of the dip. Now...you know my issue with having Mac & Cheese as an entree...challenge accepted. It had a creamy cheese, bacon, mushrooms, chicken, and while truffle oil. The portion of Mac & Cheese was too small for the price. The chicken was very dry. How? How can you have chicken that dry with a creamy sauce? They made more for me and it was much better. They were a little heavy handed on the truffle oil in my opinion. I then ordered the mini peach and apple cobbler. The price was fair for what I had and it tasted good enough. Our server was a bit clingy. She would come by the table to check on us and then wait and talk for up to 5 minutes about nothing. At first it was a little annoying but manageable. It quickly became creepy. read more
