There were a lot of coffee grounds in my boyfriend's coffee cocktail. There were flies all over the restaurant to the point that the staff were commenting about how disgusting it was. My girlfriend and I are 21 and we wanted to enjoy some mimosas for brunch but we were refused service because we have vertical IDs. They said that there was state legislation that made it illegal to accept vertical IDs for alcohol sales... which is false. I realize that they have the right to refuse service but them claiming that it was illegal to sell to us and not just a company policy rubbed me the wrong way, on top of the fact that my girlfriend had just come here the week before and was sold alcohol using her vertical ID. Another issue I had with this establishment was their attentiveness. We accidentally spilled some water on our table and the first glaring issue is that they don't provide you with anything to wipe up spills. Second I had to raise my hand (fully erect) for 1 full minute while staring at the staff behind the counter for them to notice me (there were 4 of them just talking behind the register). When they finally came they made us clean up the mess the server did not wipe down the table. Tasty brunch! My dad and I were driving through Spokane on our way to Seattle and stopped here after a Zags friend recommended this place. I got the huckleberry pancakes and my dad got the am fried rice! Both were very tasty and I even kept my pancakes for next day leftovers. JER came around noon on a weekday so there was hardly a wait. Staff was friendly. Only tricky part is parking. We parked on the street but apparently there is 1 hour free parking in the back and $1 each hour thereafter. Tasty stop. My biscuits and gravy came to my table cold however it was still good and I was too hungry to send it back. The service was friendly and fast. It was pretty busy so we did need to speak up to get more water and tea, but they were always fast when we asked! There is street parking but limited so you might want to find other parking options on some of the side streets. I have tried several items on this menu and have cleaned my plate every single time. The place can be quite busy throughout the day during the weekend so don't expect to waltz right in if you're hungry. On average I probably wait about 30-40 minutes for a table and you must be there to put your name on the list. That being said, the wait is worth it. They offer a great selection of coffee, juice and alcoholic drinks which you can get while you wait if they aren't too busy. It is an upgraded and thoughtful version of a greasy spoon that has basic breakfast classics and then ones with a twist. No matter what you order, you will most likely enjoy it. This is my go to weekend breakfast/brunch spot and I don't see that distinction being taken by another place anytime in the near future.
