A few weeks ago, we grabbed seats at the bar of Yellowtail, a lively yet intimate spot just off the casino floor of the Bellagio. We started with edamame in a perfectly balanced sweet chili sauce and crisp, flavorful rock shrimp--both outstanding. Unable to choose between tuna tataki and angry yellowtail, we opted for both, and the contrast of flavors did not disappoint. Get the Grilled Halibut. Its the best in Vegas. Its my go to dish with the amazing creamy and sweet sauce and glaze, mushroom, the side of rice I get to dip into it, its perfect. All the sushi here is smooth and fresh (love the angry salmon roll) Dessert is fantastic and my favorite is the chocolate in a cup which has vanilla ice cream in it and hazelnut chocolate/brownie and a wafer on top with banana foam I ordered a side of mushrooms this time, which were too salty to my taste but they promptly made a new batch lightly salted and fixed it for me. Yellowtail is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas and this place is consistently amazing. The gorgeous views of the Bellagio Fountains, ambiance with mood lighting inside, and the stellar service without feeling stuffy is the high standard they have set for me to judge all other restaurants in Vegas by. Our server, Yukiko was the best server we had in our whole trip, very attentive, sweet, and genuine. The manager, Irene, even came by our table to see how the food was, amazing staff top to bottom. My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it was a near perfect experience. The server did an amazing job, recommending amazing dishes, so hats off to them. The GM stopped by our table and made sure we were being taken care of which we thought was amazing because they were very busy but she still had time to stop and check in on us and ensure our experience was special. The only thing stopping it from being a 5 star experience was the hostess at the front. She was quite rude and not welcoming whatsoever. Also, her outfit of choice was quite busty and revealing. It was a bit uncomfortable being that I was on a date with my girlfriend entering a Japanese restaurant, not Tao beach club. Luckily the experience was saved by our wonderful server, the amazing food and the GM of the restaurant. We were very close to just canceling our reservation and going elsewhere. read more

The short ribs were new for us and they were the best dish of the night. The tuna pizza, tuna tataki, steak tabon, and crab hand rolls were all perfect. Would probably give 2.5 to be honest but the views give it an extra bump up. We dined here earlier this week and were disappointed with the food and service. The rock shrimp had a very gelatin like texture, no crunch, were mushy and for $38, pretty unacceptable. They were actually some of the worst I've ever had. The shrimp tempura roll was also mushy and flavorless. Gyoza were nothing special but those are typically not hard to mess up. Kimchi brussel sprouts were great, as were the spicy tuna roll and tuna pizza. Service was dull and flat - our waiter never checked on us after we got our food (none of which he brought out to us) and only checked on us to ask if we need another drink and to see if we wanted the check. Over $300 for 3 people and it was not money well spent. Would definitely not return. read more

A month ago I stayed at the Bellagio while in town for the S.E.M.A show. My coworker had been boasting about this tuna pizza. It's all he talked about all day. Finally, we had some free time in our schedule and decided to have dinner there one night. Matt, the manager, was nice enough to help us with the reservation! We got a table right by the window, which to my surprise, had a perfect view of the water show that goes off every 15 minutes. We started the night with some Sake Spritz cocktails and of course, the beloved tuna pizza. It was TO-DIE-FOR. I recommend every tuna lover order this. The cut was so fine that every time you bit into it, you didn't have the tuna dragging off the crust. We ended up ordering a bunch of other items, gyoza, smoked crab hand-rolls, salmon tiradito, seared albacore, angry yellowtail, seaweed salad, a couple orders of sashimi and some sushi rolls. Every thing hit the spot. The service was also impeccable. Our server made sure we never needed anything. He even suggested we step away once the water show started, but we waited until we were done with dinner before heading outside. The show itself was the perfect cherry on top. Definitely something you cannot miss if you are staying at the Bellagio. Chef Akira Back is one talented chef. I look forward to trying out more of his restaurants in the near future! read more

These are the best scallops I've ever had. They had an orange zest and pieces of orange that complimented the scallops so well. The sushi was decent, nothing to rave about. This place is beautiful. If you're lucky, you can sit in front of the Bellagio fountains. Sadly, we weren't sit in front, but we got to see through the windows. Service was good. They do have people coming around, taking photos, then selling it to you for $60-70. A bit of a turn off with how expensive photos are... Just trying to eat in peace. The appetizers were the best part of the meal. I recommend the tuna pizza, cod, and the drinks were super good! The sushi was just average, which is surprising since it is a Japanese restaurant and they're charging high prices. There wasn't much flavor in my opinion. I will say that quality of the food was amazing. Super fresh! I would go back still even though the sushi was a bit of a dud! It's worth to check it out! read more

The 3 of us dined here for an early dinner before attending a show, and we all had a great time here! Nice spot, and it looks so much more on the inside than the outside. There are some outdoor seats in here, and we were lucky to be seated inside with a view of the outside, so we saw some of that Bellagio fountain show every 30 mins or so. We tried the following - Cocktails - Japanese Manhattan (Toki Japanese whiskey, sweet vermouth, Akira Back sake, orgeat, angostura bitters) Lychee (vodka, Ty-Ku, lychee purée) Infusion (pineapple and vanilla infused sake, rum). We enjoyed the cocktails we got, and I really enjoyed the lychee one. Pretty and yum. Angry Yellowtail - with micro cilantro and blood orange sauce. Gotta order some yellowtail at a place called Yellowtail! Raw yellowtail is so good. Good texture, that bit of fattiness, flavor, etc. Not too fond of the orange (personal preference), but the dish itself was pretty good. Salmon Tiradito - with charred peaches and cilantro oil. The salmon was good and I enjoyed the peaches. It was a bit hard for to get it all in one bite so we ended up eating some of the peach bits separately. They do go well together! Mile High Roll - crab mix, avocado, asparagus, tempura fried topped with mixed sashimi and spicy ponzu aioli. We all really enjoyed this roll! Basic-ish base, but the sashimi topping elevated this roll by a LOT. My friends said this is now their favorite all time roll! Akira Back Tuna Pizza - with micro shiso and truffle oil. You can really taste the truffle oil on this pizza, and luckily it wasn't too overpowering. There were other garnishes on this one and it was all really good. One of my fave tuna pizzas in Vegas so far! Toro Caviar - with Kochujang micro greens. An issue we had with this dish was that there were 3 of us and 4 pieces. We played rock papers scissors and winner got a second piece. Great toro and caviar. Hit or miss with the greens inside it. I really loved the fish and such, but not too fond of the greens. YUM!!! 4 oz of Kagoshima A5 Wagyu - there was a traditional style and also this style with the hot stone, sauce, mushrooms and more with it. Something new. We all thought it was super great, especially with how tender the Wagyu was and the mushrooms added a lot to the dish. We also got some potatoes and the sauce and shrooms went well on that! Dessert - Black & White Sesame Matcha Cake - white sesame and matcha mousse, salted agave ice cream. Not too sweet! The ice cream was amazing - smooth, subtle flavor, etc. The cake was good too, but didn't get much matcha flavor IMO. Texturally it was alright. I def enjoyed the food a lot more than the dessert. Overall, great spot. Would try some more stuff from their menu if I return. read more

I had the Golden Hour cocktail and for $24 it was incredibly disappointing. I live in Los Angeles and have had some delicious specialized drinks. This was not the case here. The dried pineapple was awful and the drink tasted like pineapple juice only. With that said, my daughter had a Shirley Temple and it was wonderful! The cherries were divine! The gentleman that filled our water was a standout. Such a nice man! The hostess was great. The chocolate cup and the lobster tempura were standouts. Service was great. read more

One of my last nights there and really wanted to give this place a try! But couldn't get past rude hostess! What a bummer. She had hair like storm from x-men but with a blonde stripe, dark hair otherwise and fair skin, darker makeup and such a cold attitude. We just wanted a table and she must've been having the worst day. I was super friendly and even tried to smile through her tone but she wouldn't let up. It's sad what's happened to the service industry. With prices and economy the way it is now, I hope to at least have a semi-decent to friendly greeting when I plan on paying for an expensive dinner! Food is important but so is service. No one should have to pay these casino prices to be treated with not even an ounce of respect. read more

Had a really nice time at Yellowtail. It's a pretty immersive experience once you walk in past the casino floor and the staff was great. Never had an empty water and brought out food in a very timely manner. They also let me bring in my Fat Tuesday from outside which was nice of them. Each thing we ordered was incredibly flavorful and wasn't much like other places I've tried. This would easily have been a 5 but it was pretty pricey for what you get. I know it's sushi and it's Vegas so I was ready for the numbers, but I still left pretty hungry and ended up getting late night pizza elsewhere. read more

Western sushi...it's for tourists from landlock states, or not usual sashimi/sushi eaters? Maybe we should have ordered their popular shared plates instead? They open at 5pm, with a line of people. And with 5pm to 630pm, we got both day and night view. Night lights with night water shows were definitely better. The place is packed by the time we left. Service is okay. It was very rushed. Good and bad? Good in which we got our food in your timing. Bad in which the waitress and any staff around were speeding to leave every second... There was no waiting around for any thoughts, much questions, etc. Staff were zooming away. There were guests who had to actually vocally yell down a staff :( Our sushi/sashimi did not come with ginger. We stopped any staff around and asked for it. It came quick. Quality of sashimi/sushi was what you'll find at mediocre to ayce sushi places? Actually for rolls, local ayce sushi places would be better. Most raw items were a bit tasteless. Sashimi scallops, uni quality and presentations were a bit sad. The carrot was not skinned before peeled as decor. Things I caught....fish scale in my mouth from a non fish sashimi item but did look like an ice slice (grossed out by the ice slices now), hair stuck in my menu, a red string in my napkin.... Much of which I didn't think anything was important to really bother the super duper busy staff. Overall, the staff were still really nice. And when you tell them an action, they are speedy. Giving them the benefit of doubt...maybe their shared plates are good? If not, really really don't know what's the point of eating much from here. Just order cooked, baked, more heavily pre-sauced or processed items then. read more
