Had a really nice time at Yellowtail. It's a pretty immersive experience once you walk in past the casino floor and the staff was great. Never had an empty water and brought out food in a very timely manner. They also let me bring in my Fat Tuesday from outside which was nice of them. Each thing we ordered was incredibly flavorful and wasn't much like other places I've tried. This would easily have been a 5 but it was pretty pricey for what you get. I know it's sushi and it's Vegas so I was ready for the numbers, but I still left pretty hungry and ended up getting late night pizza elsewhere. read more

Seated at the window next to the deck was such a blessing, it was so beautiful watching the sun go down and the lights and fountain go up! The Halibut shareable was amazing and the star of the cuisine for me. The sushi, espresso martini, and chocolate in a cup were also great. Their Old Fashioned drink was one of the best my husband has ever had, and that saying something! Our waitress was on top of it without being overly pesky. The tuna pizza is to die for! It is amazingly fresh and the best tuna I have ever had. The sweet chili edamame is also so good and the perfect blend of spice and sweetness. This review reflects several (10+) visits over a long time, the most recent being last month. I've been a customer here since they opened though. I even remember when the space used to be occupied by an old restaurant called Shintaro back in the day! I frequently visit with family as well as entertain clients at the Bellagio so Yellowtail is often a stop. Food is usually very good, however there are too many issues to make this a 5 star place. Yellowtail is really more like a solid 3.5 but I'll round it to 4, mostly because of the excellent ambiance and generally good service. The food is overall pretty good but the main issue at Yellowtail is inconsistency. Some days the food is pure perfection and other days several dishes are incorrectly seasoned or sushi misshapen or slapped together. In a recent visit, the black cod was superlative. Tender, moist and decadently intense in flavor. The yuzu foam added the perfect counterpoint. All sushi was wonderful, except for the fried heads accompanying the amaebi which were incorrectly fried and not crispy enough to be edible. On another visit, our cold plates were perfect, as always. However the nigiri were so badly formed that they fell apart immediately upon picking up. What made it even worse was that when telling our waitress about this, she didn't offer any solution and I had to request for it to be remade. I was livid when they returned with the same shoddy pieces of incorrectly formed sushi with nori wrapped around. This alone should merit getting a one star review but I'm allowing all my previous good experiences to temper this meal. My most recent visit to Yellowtail was better, with all sushi being wonderfully crafted and very fresh. The off-menu jumbo scallop nigiri is the way to go! Super sweet and delicious. Theo and Yuki (I think that was her name?) have offered excellent service in the dining room. Some of the ladies who are lounge servers out front need some more training, though. It's difficult to eat there when you don't see a server for over 20 minutes and need to ask for things using the busser as an intermediary! Overall though, if you're in the Bellagio and need some quality Japanese cuisine with sexy, modern ambience and AMAZING fountain views, you probably will be happy here. Will I return? Perhaps. But you should still try it out for yourself. read more

We made a reservation for my husband's birthday dinner. They gave us a table with a view of the Bellagio fountain which was super cool! Our waitress was super friendly. They were pretty busy but we never felt rushed. We ordered the Angry Yellowtail appetizer (not very angry if you remove the Serrano pepper!) 3 rolls - tempura shrimp, eel, and spicy tuna. All of it was super fresh!! There is also a bar up front if you prefer to eat and drink there and maybe watch some sports. We like the fountain! We also noticed that there are a few tables outside on small balconies. Maybe next time!! I had been to this venue ages ago when Andrew and Andy opened the concept under light group. It was always solid and a convenient choice. Nothing outstanding, but very solid. Well, my opinion of that has changed dramatically. The service and food were spectacular. The servers were prompt, considerate, and attentive. But the absolute shocker was the Manager. Being in the industry myself, managers can have an air to them. Not Jenny. Her ability to pair dishes, make sure we always had filled drinks, explaining dishes in a simple and effective way. It's an owners dream and what you pray for when you have someone running your restaurant when you're not there. What a gem she is, I'm considering going back and poaching her, lol. Go to Sushi Roku instead. The atmosphere and food were beyond reproach but the service was severely lacking. Our appetizers came quickly and were good, but afterward my food came, along with a roll we did not order for my wife. We sent it back, and 5 minutes later a mackerel dish came out, again not what my wife ordered. We eventually got a someone to the table who was able to be told what we ordered, and we eventually got it, 10 minutes after I was done eating. The manager, Matt, said it was because sometimes rolls take longer, neglecting to mention we kept getting the wrong food for my wife. He did not want to do anything besides give us dessert, which neither of us wanted, and eventually comped the roll. So I spent $260 on a meal that I had to eat separately from my wife and beg for someone to serve what she ordered. At least we had the nicest seat in the house to this clown show. read more

The manager of the restaurant reached out to me following my review and asked for my check number and phone number (although never called me). After sending him several photos and a copy of my $500 bill, he responded that they will do training to prevent experiences like this in the future, however I think they all need lessons in customer service, to be honest. As a manager, I probably would've at least offered a free appetizer to entice a customer to give us another chance. BUT NO he didn't. Yellowtail continues to be memorable in the worst way with every additional interaction. The ikura was excellent, some of the best. Nice dark lit busy but efficient. So good I went two nights in a row. The first night I sat at the bar and I had a few questions about the food, the bartender said "I don't work here, I'm just helping out because they're short staffed." So I asked if I could ask someone else, he sent someone over. The second night the exact same thing happened, " I don't know I'm just helping," with no offer to help find out. I understand that it's a temporary situation, but I was frustrated. I spoke with the manager and she couldn't have handled it better. She apologized and made sure it was taken care of. I made dinner reservations at 7pm on a Thursday night and I must say that even on a week day , this place was packed! We were seated right away by the hostess. Food was well prepared and thought through, service was superb- guy (his name) who was our host/ server was very helpful and attentive, he was very personable. Ambience was romantic and not very loud. Lighting of the restaurant was dimmed which made it very intimate. We were seated right by the patio doors which was a very good view of the Bellagio fountain. This restaurant is a bit pricey but was worth every penny. Beautiful ambiance and view of the fountain, more quiet atmosphere and restaurant. Lighting during the evening is the natural sunlight. Restaurant has great table spacing and good acoustics, so the din of the surrounding conversations isn't overwhelming. The best nigiri was definitely the yellowtail, not surprisingly. The protein roll was fresh with the crab, and sashimi on top was delightful. Braised wagyu short rib was tender and great but I thought maybe it would be interesting with a kick of spice, though savory and great as is. The jeju domi was a genius creation, treating the fish as a piece of meat, seasoning it with a bit of gochujang, salt/pepper, sesame oil, and a tiny bit of onion. My family and I visit Las Vegas almost every month and Yellowtail has been our go to spots for great food. The servers inside have always been wonderful. Unfortunately, the hostess continues to leave a negative impression I've encountered on multiple visits. On Tuesday at 5:50 PM, I walked in with my mom and politely asked one of the hostesses if we could be seated at an open table across from the bar. Before she could respond, another hostess very rudely interrupted and said, "Do you even have a reservation?" The tone was unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. I explained that I just wanted to enjoy a couple of rolls with my mom, and she curtly pointed to the side tables and said, "Then you can sit here." I said that's okay and chose to walk away rather than escalate the situation. I did not feel the need to show my MGM Platinum card, because courtesy and respect should not depend on status. However, as someone who dines here regularly, this interaction was disappointing and inexcusable. This is not the first time I've experienced this same attitude from this particular hostess. I hope management addresses this issue. read more
