You can't even see the spicy tuna there's so much crumbles on it and the crab salad had no flavor at all
    Julie P.

It's been a long time since I've ordered from Yo Sushi in Vallejo. I usually go to the one on in Fairfield. It was horrible. It was DoorDash. It was really fast, but the food tasted gross. The north Texas roll had nothing in it but cucumber and a fried softshell crab something inside of it tasted rotten. I think it was supposed to be Unagi, but it absolutely was not made right and then I had the combo Tsuneo. It had no sauce at all. It was just cucumbers with toppings. It was horrible and then I ordered the Philadelphia roll, barely any smoked salmon in there and then I had the deluxe spicy tuna, and that roll was actually pretty decent, but it had way too much of the crumbles on top for my liking. I would definitely not order again. Which surprised me because I've eaten there before and it's been good so I don't know what happened with the Delivery but whoever cooked today that was the worst sushi I've ever had in my life.

A biohazard. Delivery was positive. Restaurant cleared this Catalina Summer roll for service. Unhygienic, got a refund via Instacart.

Unhygienic and food was cold. Service was prompt. Instacart driver was positive and prompt, no complaints. Just disappointed with the restaurant's clearance of this biohazard in the roll.

Ordered a $16 roll called a Texas roll. Got four pieces and they were so big I couldn't fit it in my mouth. So had to bite into it which it just fell apart. Ordered sake too and already done with food. Told them about it and they told me it's all the same portion still. Sushi is an art. I paid for the preparation not the amount of food. If that was the case I would just get fried rice with fish. Disappointed. Probably done coming here. Matsuri is better with customer service anyway. You guys lost a customer. Ps. Just came from the cancer center. This was my first meal today.

Busy day after church. Friendly service Average $20per person My favorite Awesome roll and Teriyaki Salmon and I added jalapeno to my roll. I got it deep fried which I waiver with but I did it today and the batter was just too much...thick. my daughter said the same thing about her roll. Overall nice work.

Definitely not the best in town but not the worst either. Will satisfy your craving and they have lots of options to choose from. Staff is nice and place is well kept. More of a casual vibe with seating available indoors or takeout options. You order at the front and when your order is ready you take it to your table yourself. I also feel that the pricing is not bad.

    Angry Lion King Roll

We haven't been to Yo Sushi since maybe 2017? Today, we took a little walk over at the Glen Cove Waterfront Park. After our walk, we decided to have early dinner. I decided on this place because I was craving sushi and it was the closest to us. The sushi menu still looked the same, but with higher prices. Here's what I ordered: Angry Lion King Roll: While I do appreciate that it's stuffed with so much, it's a little hard to eat. I would like to enjoy my sushi without it breaking. I would like to be able to pick up one piece normally like at other sushi places. What I didn't like about this too was when I'm scraping the bottom to pick up the fallen rice and crab, the foil gets scraped. I almost ended up eating a piece of small foil. I was starting to get worried that maybe I ended up eating a piece? It was good but so horribly messy. I think if you go to other sushi places it's not nearly like this. I usually get a lion king roll at almost any new place and even ones we frequent, and it's not like this. Agedashi tofu: this is usually my go to as an appetizer. I can tell you that this is not even close to what it should be like. It's pretty much just fried tofu. Here's what afedashi tofu is supposed to be like: "The tofu is coated with potato starch to create a crispy crust, while the inside remains soft and custardy." This isn't executed as such here at Yo Sushi. It might do the staff wonders to go out and try some at actual Japanese restaurants that aren't "fast casual" and see how it's made. But this should not be called agedashi tofu. I forgot to take a pic of it. While it was nice to get a "cheap" dinner I probably would prefer to go to suruki for my lion king and California rolls if I want something cheap and quick. This review is solely for the two items I had.

Yo Sushi We stopped by Yo Sushi and ordered the Crazy Monkey and Vallejo rolls -- and wow, these rolls were massive! Definitely a great value for the size. The flavors were solid and satisfying, especially the Crazy Monkey, which had a good mix of savory and creamy textures. We did come in close to their closing time, so the rice wasn't as fresh as we would've liked -- a little dry -- but the overall taste still held up. A bonus: they were really generous with the wasabi and ginger, which we always appreciate. If you're craving sushi in the area and don't mind slightly late-day rice, this place delivers on flavor and portion size. We'll definitely be back to try them during peak hours next time!

I don't think it's on their take-out menu, but somehow I was able to locate it. Imagine lean, tender short ribs simmered in a clear broth, served with clear noodles. The wings were fried to perfection where the outside was crispy but the inside was so juicy and tender. But I didn't care for the glaze (which I believe is their "garlic soy glaze"), because it had a strong mustard flavor, which I totally didn't expect from the name. I was really expecting a savory and garlicky soy sauce flavor that would be balanced with a hint of sweetness. So the mustard flavor really took me by surprise and I wasn't a fan - If I had known they used mustard in that glaze, I wouldn't have ordered it. Service was nice and quite fast. I liked how after we placed our order, they pre-warned us that it might take them 20 mins to prepare the wings, although it turned out to be faster than 20 mins, which we appreciated :) The restaurant looks small from the outside but is so spacious on the inside. the restaurant was clean and organized.

The clam chowder in the bread bowl was also very good and comforting. They only had two wing flavors available--plain or teriyaki. We usually like spicier wings and prefer them extra saucy, but the teriyaki wings were really good. They were nice and crunchy, crispy, and had just the right amount of sauce, not too much, but still flavorful, even for someone who loves saucy wings. The sunset view was beautiful. I just had a cup of Tom-ka soup to go and wasn't sure if I get enough seafood in it!…read moreIt tasted amazing and was loaded with seafood! I'll definitely go back next time to get it again! I highly suggest this place!:)))

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more None of their dishes have fish sauce so you don't get knocked over the head with the smell when you walk in. They remind me every time I order, but as a vegetarian, we've all had that fish smell delivered to us at a Thai restaurant at least once (probably twice, more likely three times) in our eating lifetimes. It is such a relief to not have to worry about that here. Would I Come Back? Yes, when I'm in town, I make it a point to come here. Did I mention they don't use fish sauce!? Parking is is incredibly easy so that's never an issue. It's a shared parking lot with many stores and other restaurants. I typically go on a Sunday for lunch, and even with a party of 5, I haven't had to wait for a table. Seating capacity is probably 45-50 guests so if you're planning a large party, definitely best to call ahead and make a reservation. The Food: Roti & Yellow Curry ($14, Grade A+): Fried roti with a yellow curry dipping sauce. It's a super savory dish, and honestly, I should have had you at "fried." If you're wondering what roti is, think of it as a buttery, flaky, pan-fried flatbread. It's large enough appetizer to share with 3 people, but you're pushing your luck with 4. Pad Thai with Fried Tofu ($16, Grade A): I've had this dish 5 times now. To be completely transparent, it's the exact reason why I can't give Pearl Thai a full 5-star rating, purely because of consistency. The first time I got it, it was perfect. The second and third times, it had no sauce and was dry. The fourth time, I asked them to make it saucy, and they obliged to an almost soupy level. For this fifth time, I just ordered it straight up and zipped my lip on any alterations. As they say, the fifth time was a charm! When it's made with the perfect amount of sauce, this dish is excellent. The noodles have that exact texture you look for in a pad thai, and the egg gets that great scorch from the wok for an added layer of flavor. Also, the tofu has been incredibly fresh every single time. It never tastes slightly spoiled, which happens a lot in smaller towns that don't heavily support plant-based diets where tofu just sits in a fridge eagerly awaiting someone to order it. Mixed Vegetables ($14, Grade A): Sautéed wood ear mushrooms and mixed vegetables in a garlic soy sauce. If you've ever had Pad Pak, you already know this flavor profile. I really enjoyed it, but next time I'll ask for no carrots and maybe half the garlic. Overall, it's a perfect dish that absolutely requires steamed rice to soak up all that great flavor. Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango ($8, Grade A): The classic dessert we see at all Thai restaurants, but they serve it with purple sticky rice, making it a visually yummy dish. It's plenty of food to share between two people. Bottom Line: The service here is great and very friendly. It's a small, local shop with "Best in Town" awards highlighted on the walls. The environment is clean, and the food is served hot and arrives at the table quick. One Last Word: Don't leave here without ordering the roti with yellow curry for an appetizer. Pure savory goodness!
