My favorite sushi spot in Vallejo. I love their food. Their gyoza is my favorite thing ever and their sauce for it is just unbeatable. But, I also cannot get myself to give this place 5 stars just yet due to a few issues of my order being EXTREMELY late. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand that during the weekends, it gets busy and it takes longer for the staff to cook (especially with a pandemic, not a lot of employees can be back there all at once) I completely understand that, but a little warning ahead of time would be a nice. It's just a bit disappointing getting an email saying I'm order #32 and my food will in ready in 20 minutes, and 30 minutes late they're only on order #4 and I have to wait another hour or two. I am more mindful and will be more aware of the wait time during the weekends because of this. But overall, this is the best sushi spot in the area and their food is actually worth it. This review is mostly due in part of the service. I have been here a few times before and this last time was just bad. I know with the pandemic going on, things can be pretty hectic but do note that it wasn't the first time with this kind of service here even before the COVID-19 outbreak. I went with a 2 other people and we all know sushi can be a bit pricy at times so I was the only one who tipped and somehow I was the only one whose order was messed up and lost among the other to-go orders. The two people I went with had both gotten their orders before me, even though I was the first of us to order, and ultimately waited another 15 minutes for them to finally ask what I was waiting for. Once I let them know, they had to track down my order which was mixed into other to-go orders. I believe that the staff were mainly high schoolers and like high schoolers they were acting. Openly talking about customers in front of them and basically pouting because it was busy. A very displeasing experience once again. read more

Just moved to Glen Cove, so this was a very convenient sushi spot proximity-wise. Their sushi isn't super amazing quality, but it's somewhat decent and at least they have a good variety of choices. Might stick to their bento boxes or sashimi in the future. *WAIT TIME- ordered to-go some time later at night and it was ready just about 10 mins later. I liked how they send out a text alert when order is ready for pickup. *AMBIANCE- pretty chill vibe. They seem to work pretty fast and enforce social distancing protocols. It's nice that they have two doors because with covid going on, they use one for ENTRANCE and the other for EXIT. *QUALITY- average sushi. I was expecting my roll to be a bit bigger due to its price. This place is the bomb.com! I'm so happy that it's located near Vallejo (In between Vallejo and Benecia area). Whenever I go here, I order the bento special. I usually choose the grilled salmon, and tempura. Besides the main course, it comes with white rice, yellow radish, peas, and an orange. Overall, it cost about $12 ish including tax. The salmon is fairly large compared to most sushi places, it's fresh/soft, and the sauce is sweet. The tempura is delicious as well, and they give a fair amount of veggies (carrot, shrimp, bell pepper, potato). I give this place a 9.5/10 and would happily recommend this place to anyone. read more

Been there 3 times and each time the sushi is fresh and fabulous. The employees are polite. I have ordered at the restaurant and online. Each time the food was FRESH, appetizing and delicious. The portions are fair and the menu is expansive. There are SO many different rolls to chose from, each with a picture. There is also items for non seafood eaters. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to get your food (during the lunch rush), which is about typical for any other Sushi place. The presentation is beautiful and clean. I've had the California Roll. The Travis Roll and the Lemon-Salmon Roll, and they were all delicious! The only negative that I can give, and it is minor, is that when ordering online I order for myself and my coworkers so we ordered 2-3 rolls. Unfortunately, they were all put on one box instead of different boxes meaning that we had to figure out how to split the order to go in different places. It would be great if there was a way to request different boxes when ordering and to be able to order extra wasabi. I can't wait to eat here again! read more

A staple for sushi in the Bay Area. All the rolls are amazing and the service is very professional highly recommend if you're craving sushi.

We've only gotten their sushi rolls (three amigos is one of our favorites) so far! I'm not really much of a sushi snob - if I don't get stomach pains and it tastes good, then I'm usually a happy camper. Yo Sushi is good for their 1. Speed 2. Amount of food for money 3. Decent customer service I've only ordered takeout, but they've always been pleasant. Usually we don't wait long at the restaurant. However, their roll pieces are pretty gigantic. I generally view pieces as a bite that you can put in your mouth one-by-one easily. But these pieces are somewhat of a combination of an onigiri and a typical sushi piece. It would be nice if we got the same quantity but in smaller rolls. Also, if staff is reading, your website is not good. That said, we are happy to keep visiting Yo Sushi as our Vallejo go-to sushi place. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Yo Sushi for years and absolutely love the place! The employees have always been so incredible and the food is amazing. The manager, on the other hand, is awful. After discovering that one of my items was missing from my pick up order when I got home, I called the restaurant to see if they could credit my card back. A very kind employee answered the phone and told me that it would be no problem. I was then transferred to the manager, Julie Dong, and she ruined the whole experience. She was extremely dismissive and clearly annoyed with my request. She rudely suggested that next time I be responsible for checking my own bag to make sure "this doesn't happen ever again". Julie also shared that this has been happening often at her location and has personally informed all of her employees to tell customers to also take on this extra task (rather than just having them double check all orders to ensure accuracy). While this isn't my regular experience with Yo Sushi, I don't feel that customers should be held responsible or reprimanded for missing order items. Do better Julie read more

We ordered five or six rolls and some salad on line because we didn't want to cook in the heat. Sushi seemed a good idea, but we are strapped for cash so decided Matsuri was out. The rolls were not cooked rolls. Got a notice to come pick up. Went in. Not ready. Crazy busy in there, like 20 people working---most of them super young and clearly disinterested. One poor woman, manager? Working her butt off. Waited an hour and a half from start to finish. Got the meal home, and several parts of husband's rolls didn't have fish, and were squished with unagi sauce that wasn't supposed to be on the roll and had jumbled together...and mine had brown avocado. Hadn't been to Yo Sushi in about 8 years. Last time stopped going because the fish didn't seem fresh and had that weird rainbow shine to it. Oh my gosh! Idk if it was because I was starving but this sushi was hands down one of the best I've had in quite some time. It was fresh, it was hefty, it was just amazing. It was the perfect bite each time. We got two awesome rolls and a Philadelphia. The Philadelphia was good but it was overshadowed by the Awesome roll. So good. I was craving for sushi so decided to visit my favorite sushi spot from years ago. Note that I haven't been here in a few years because I moved out of the country for a bit- so to my surprise, the portion and quality of food definitely changed. Miso soup, missing the authentic taste, a bit watered down. Shrimp tempura was very much breaded, took a few bites to actually get to the shrimp part and the deep fried oyster tasted old (which I did complain about and got a small plate of a few redid/refried oysters in return.) I also ordered the Titanic roll which had slices of salmon and tuna on top of the roll, and again.. a bit disappointing because even the size of salmon and tuna slices got smaller, waaaaayyyy smaller. A family member of mine ordered the bento box, the beef was not tender at all and the sides that came with the bento box was a joke. A slice of orange and 3-4 pieces of edamame. read more

Haven't had Yo Sushi in a while and just had my fix! I ordered the lemon salmon roll and titanic. I ordered through Doordash and it came in a timely manner. They weren't as good as I remembered - the rice they used this day seemed like it was old, a little stale and not soft. This was also my first time ordering the lemon sushi roll and I didn't know it came with cream cheese in it (I don't like cream cheese in my rolls) and not sure if it says the roll comes with that ingredient in the online menu so I was pretty disappointed. Titanic roll was the better roll in this order! I also wish they included more ginger for rolls, I probably received about 5 ginger pieces for 2 rolls. The only Sushi spot in the Vallejo/ Glen Cove area that I go to, and it is probably the best one in town. I've been going to Yo Sushi many, many times and figured why not write a review for my go-to sushi spot when I'm back home? Anywho, Yo Sushi is located in a plaza where you will see a Safeway as you drive on 780. Yo Sushi also gets a bit busy so hopefully you'll be able to find a table or you can always call for takeout, because seating is quite limited. They do have a small outdoor patio though. Once you walk inside, they will have a picture menu to your left. If you like to try different rolls (and not always get Lion King or other baked well-known sushi names), you'll probably have a difficult time choosing. For me, having the picture above the description of what the sushi is made out of makes ordering sushi so hard! Because everything will look and sound soooo goooood! So good luck. Yo Sushi has pretty inexpensive rolls and the rolls are a great size. The sushi chefs are pretty generous with the fish, too! I always end up not finishing one or two pieces, but when i'm hAngry and craving sushi, I can for sure finish my order! :) Their sushi always comes out tasting fresh and looks exactly how they are pictured. My fave? The Vallejo roll. I'm from Vallejo, Yo Sushi is in the Vallejo/ Glen Cove vicinity so heck yeah I will get the roll with my city's name. Vallejo is my favorite because it's spicy! I love the spicy tuna (they put hella, too) and they add small slices of jalapeño on top for that extra, extra kick! Yummmmmy if you ask me. I try not getting sushi with hella sauce, but from trying a piece or two from my family and friends who like that saucy sushi, I can honestly tell you that the sauce on whatever roll will not overpower what you're eating. They also have those sushi boats, and if ever you order it, you will be amaze how beautiful it will look! Its awes me every single time! It's a sushi house, so yes, there are other food items on the menu besides sushi. And for my homies watching their sodium intake, they do have low sodium soy sauce upon request. Water cups? Yes. Sake? Yes, but I don't think they have sake bombs... *sad face* They also have boba drinks, but I will tell you now - do not waste your money. The very first (and last time) I had their boba, it tasted like flavored water. My friend ordered their Honeydew boba during our most recent visit, Nov. 15, 2018, and yeah... she was not happy.
