Some meat and a shit-ton of rice.
Member H.

In general it is pretty good. But today I ordered the chicken and beef bowl. It might be good and actually have flavor if there were any veggies. The menu had an option to upgrade the rice for veggies, but I didn't know they would totally stiff me on veggies if I didn't upgrade. -- No Veggies! none! -- Maybe that's your style, but it's not mine. Yogi's cheaped out on the veggies.

Delivery! Pot stickers, veggie yakisoba, Las Vegas roll & egg rolls.
Angelina R.

I was pretty impressed for delivery on this order. I've visited the establishment in person at other locations in the past. I think they're a major step up for some Americanized oriental in comparison to Panda or others. Their pot stickers would probably be better if they offered steamed & not just fried. The fried is a bit too crispy for my liking. And it would be nice if they added a bit more sauce than only 1/4 of the container. I truly wish I could order just the yakisoba without meat or vegetable fillers. They do give a plentiful portion, I'm just not a fan of the soggy veggies I have to pick out. However, the flavor is great & the scoop of rice on the side is nice! The "egg rolls" are actually vegetable spring rolls. And they're good- I actually like the smaller size, plus they include a decent mini sweet & sour cup for each! But again, I wish they offered non-fried spring rolls. There are a decent amount of selections for sushi. My favorite is the Las Vegas roll. For delivery, it was still solid, fresh & came with all the fixins. Totally appreciated the chopsticks, napkins, fork, ginger & soy sauce included in the delivery. Everything was packaged well, arrived hot & one of the better deliveries I've had.

Beef teriyaki and Miso Soup with my Arepa lol

Beef teriyaki was pretty good, it's like some type of thin beef with teriyaki sauce and green onions on top. The miso soup was okay.

Chicken & Beef Teriyaki Bowl Added vegetables

Decided to give this place a try since it always looks good. Nothing against the place or the workers as the set up inside was very unique. I think the flavor of the food just was not good. I decided to get the chicken and beef bowl. I added vegetable and subbed brown rice. It looked amazing and my mouth was watering, but after two bites I wasn't into the taste at all. The flavor gets old and it seems like you are just eating the same bite over and over. I guess it just wasn't for me. If I were to recommend anything to a new timer, the spicy tuna bowl is worth a shot. Get a side of the eel sauce and an extra side of the spicy mayo.

The orange taranje is terrible. It was over burned black, the oil for the fryer needs to be changed, friendly reminder order at least an hour before closing or you'll be having leftover batter and oil for dinner. The rice was the only good part.

Caterpillar roll and firecracker roll/check out the size of that roll...

Reviews are very good and so we gave it a try on a Saturday evening. When we arrived there were 2 people eating at the sushi counter, otherwise it was empty. During our time there another couple came in, so it was not busy and easy to get a table. The server was very friendly and service was great. For that I'll push my rating to 4 stars. For me, this place is personally 3.5/5. Everything was decent but nothing I would rave about. And that might just be me, because people love this place in other reviews. It was possibly just a bunch of little things that made me think it's just okay. I thought the texture of sushi rice was a bit too soft, I know it's sticky rice but I felt like it was a little over cooked and too soft. I also thought both of my rolls tasted exactly the same. Which thankfully I thought were good tasting. The stuffed jalapeños were definitely a miss, they were so under fried so mostly a mush of ingredients in a jalapeño. And initially I liked the karaage but had a couple of tough pieces, so overall that was just okay. Miso soup was solid. And I realize that the appetizers are cooked in the back and not by sushi chef, and people rave about the chef. However like I said, both rolls seemed pretty similar tasting and one was supposed to be more spicy. All very standard flavors, like I would expect from AYCE sushi. I think I'm just looking for more delicate flavors with higher quality pieces of fish. I likely should have tried some of the special items listed on the rotating items board near the sushi bar. Next time we go back I'll try sitting at the sushi bar and trying some speciality items. People have said this is the best way to enjoy this place. We will likely come back during a lunch or happy hour special, if I like it better and I can upgrade my review I'd be happy to give this small, local family run business all the stars.

Icho has quickly become one of my most favorite places to visit…read more The small interior seats only a few guests which makes it great for date nights and special outings with a few guests. However this allows the staff to be more directly invested in your experience and keep the same level of quality in each dish. The fish is always fresh. The sushi rolls are creative enough to stand out from your local sushi restaurant but not over the top that the flavors get so mixed up that you're not sure what you're eating. The star of the show is their truffle escolar. I can't say more than if you are a fan of sashimi, then you will want to get this to be the first and last dish you order.

But they do it consistently and very well. I could eat these alone and feel happy. We are on a yellowtail kick. We asked the amazing and attentive waitress to as yellowtail choices she recommended. We tried them all. They were fantastic. Best. Sushi. Ever. Haven't had better in Cali. Or Seattle. It's.... Ya. Icho Izakaya as the overall champ. Our waitress is such a sweet spirit, she checked in frequently. I wish I had gotten her name. My wife and I both talked afterwards about how she pleasant and sweet spirited she was, super helpful and knowledgeable. She was outstanding! I will say, the master chef is busy. Lots of orders come in. And he rotates them so everyone gets part of their order. Be patient. Enjoy your company. Catch up. Slow down. It's so worth it. When I walked in, I was promptly directed to where I should go so I could place a takeout order. The genuine courtesy of the staff here was just what I needed after a long day. Lots of great options for sushi but ramen sounded amazing on a chilly winter day. I ordered a couple options and requested for the toppings to be separated so my picky eater could pick out what she didn't like. The food was out promptly and packaged with such care. Once I got it back to my daughter's hospital room, we were able to feast on the best meal we had all day. I will definitely be coming back to this place again and I am grateful for their kindness just when I needed it. Highly recommend!

Our server was attentive, happy hour was good and everything came out quickly. The cucumber salad was super refreshing and gyoza were yummy with a delicious sauce. We ordered sake bombs, and I absolutely love that they serve them with frosty chilled glasses. We tried two different ramen bowls and both were packed with flavor. The spice levels felt pretty accurate, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the meat was tender, and the noodles had a great texture. Each bowl had its own flavor profile, but both were equally delicious. We also tried the takoyaki (octopus balls). I was already getting full, so I wasn't as excited about them, but my boyfriend described them as a BBQ pancake bite. Overall, this is a great spot for ramen. I did notice the music was all girl bands and no boy bands. Clean restaurant, good service, flavorful food, and a fun atmosphere. I'd definitely come back.

First, Sizzling House sits around a plethora of amazing food options in the Mesa Asian District. It is a small eatery and very casual. We started with the dumplings and karage. These were where the rating dropped. I didn't find anything memorable about either... My friend ordered the tokontsu ramen with think noodles. I had a taste, and while I'd order it if wanting ramen, this was what I expect of good ramen. It hit the right notes on taste and the noodle s were cooked well, just nothing that would make me perk up if someone wanted to get ramen. The highlight, which would have made this a debate between 4 and 5 stars, and which I will go back for (already excited!), was the sizzling Angus beef plate with thick udon noodles. This was one of the better dishes I have had of late, and I am glad I got extra beef and opted for the black pepper sauce. The thinly sliced beef with the thick udon noodles was a perfect pairing, and I ate this much faster than I meant to, not leaving any leftovers despite the add ons. Food came out quick. Staff was friendly.

I think it's a splendid option, especially for first-timers or anyone who wants a complete tasting experience without having to choose individual items. If I could change one small thing, it would be the roll selection. I wish there were an option to choose from the specialty rolls instead of only the basic ones. That extra flexibility would make the experience even better. Overall, the quality of the food was very good, and the overall experience was enjoyable. It's definitely a place worth visiting, and I'll certainly be back to try the curry and ramen next time!
